Thanks ladies :) I am emotionally wrecked today. He is a bully.
The bleeding is a sign that the acid from her reflux is causing damage to her oesophagus. It definitely requires the right medication. The old paed told me he didn't believe in giving more losec and I told him the new doc (who he knows) didn't prescribe more losec, the same dose but other things that can help her. How can he not know what to do? He is based in one of the best private hospitals in Sydney. Goes to show you can't trust anyone.
Oh and my inlaws are always like that. Mil never listens. She's actually told me time and again that there is nothing wrong with Jessica. All of her four kids were like Jess according to her. She had the gall to suggest that the losec was causing the bleeding. That made me really angry. It has all stemmed from when DH fainted in the plane in Brisbane and none of them were bothered to do anything about it. Then when he has pneumonia they didn't call him or help him at all. Jess was 3 weeks old then. I've just had enough!
-
Owwwww!! Alex has taken to biting down on my nipple during feeds. I take him off and say NO! Biting hurts mummy, but he just grins at me the cheeky lil monkey! He's a bit young yet to just put him on the ground though, so not sure how else to stop him doing it...
-
Owww ck! No idea what you can do about that :/
Yeah your poor bub :/ our old pead was like that too didnt give 2 crap, her new pead is much better,i dont feel crazy anymore!

Ummm how did I miss your post Jan?? I must of had my damn eyes shut!
I would report him and his secretary and I would have probably decked both of them I think. Poor Jess she must be in just so much pain, my first thought with blood was yeah that's really serious and needs urgent attention.
Gahhh you poor thing with the outlaws, what complete tools!!! Unfortunately you can't pick your family.

CK my eyes watered reading that- ouch!!!! Could you use a nipple shield? How frustrating!!
Jan- its absolutely awful how your inlaws like to say that all their children were like Jess- makes me sick when people assume they know your baby enough to make those comments! It's like uh no, you have no idea so don't pretend like you know everything... Man, I soooo feel for you- I have inlaws issues as well but not as frustrating as yours... Sounds like they're the sorts of people who don't put in any effort at all, yet still feel they have the right to comment on everything as though they're experts. Yuck!
Any babies grabbing stuff consciously yet? Violet doesn't seem to understand the concept yet!
Also has anyone read Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall? Thinking of buying it!! I've been on the website and t seems very interesting! Lolpigs, have you been on there?
-
Yep Lilly loves grabbing things her blankie toy especially.
Yeah I have but shes also been linked to CC and CIO which I dont believe in.
I am reading sleeping like a baby by pinky makay atm.

He only seems to do when he's mucking around at the end of a feeds or while trying to latch on, so I'm guessing that just telling him no and taking it away will work eventually...I hope!
As for Tizzie Hall, I've flipped through bits of it - CC, CIO and weird ultra strict routines seem to be what she's advocating, which just feels wrong to me.
Alex grabs things all the time, and most of the time they get dragged straight into his mouth. He also likes to hold onto the bars of his cradle. Going to go get him a bumbo seat because he loves sitting up on our laps, just hoping his chubby legs fit :)
-
Oh really? Yeah I don't believe in CC or CIO either so I'm glad you mentioned that!!!! Is Sleeping Like a Baby good so far?
-
CK ohh I hope the telling him no works! Heh cheeky boy!!
Is there anything I should be doing to encourage violet to start grabbing stuff other than offering toys etc?
We have a bumbo seat!! Violet fits but yeah her chubby legs are tight too! Hahahhaha. She's a bit little for it I think but almost ready!
Going to have our photographer friend take some pics on Sunday- and mum leant me one of my super cute dresses from when I was a baby to put on violet for some of the photos! Heheh!
-
She'll start when she's ready - just keep offering toys within grabbing reach and playing with her on the floor. Alex loves it when I tickle him with bits of his toys etc.
Man I'll be glad when I'm over this cold. Here it is nice and cool for a change and I'm bathed in sweat from being sick. Blargh!
Alex's Itti Bittis arrived the other day, they're awesome! Only leak I've had was because he was accidentally pointing to the side in the nappy and missed all the soaker pads...
-
Uggh I'm so tired!!! This baby never sleeps. Some days I manage better than others. DS was sick last night with a wheezy cough and he pretty much kept me up all night, then add in Jessica's wakings and I'm a sad and grumpy mumma today.
It can be a tough gig! Inlaws came over today so hopefully now we can be on better terms. Will just have to keep my mouth closed from now on and accept how they are.
-
Hi Everyone from Toukley :)
Hope everyone is well. Lilly went to the beach for the first time and was unimpressed! Lol
The more you wash them CK the better they get ;)
 Jan, I hope the new treatments help her. The new pead has given us Zantac to try and a nasal spray as Lilly is always itching her nose and coughing and he said it might have an impact on the reflux fingers crossed.
I hope you can improve your relationship with them Jan but dont let them treat you like crap

 Jan, while you may not ever see eye to eye with them, hopefully you can find some middle ground somewhere.
Well, I'm on the tail end of the cold now I think, but Alex has started coughing. Doesn't seem to be in any discomfort though and looks up at me with a big cheeky grin whenever he does, so not sure if he's possibly getting sick or just copying me because I've been coughing so much lately and he thinks it's funny. Fingers crossed that he's just copying!!
He's still biting me the little bugger, usually towards the end of a breast, as the flow slows down I think. So I'm trying to persist with the firm no, remove and turn him away from me while still holding him for a few minutes before offering again. Hopefully he'll get the message soon, it flipping hurts!
-
:shhh: you are all being waaaaaaaaaaaay too talkative!
-
Sadly Alex wasn't just copying - he's been really uncomfortable with a dose of my stupid-ass cold :( Has made him super cuddly as he just wants to snuggle in for comfort. Picked up some Fess for his nose if it gets really bad and he's had a few doses of panadol as he's been wimpering and crying a fair bit today. Having had it myself, I know it starts with a sore throat and blocked sinuses which gives a nasty headache. Hoping it doesn't stick around very long.
My brother and niece fly home tonight. Been awesome having them here, catching up and teasing each other like we always used to.
-
Awww poor Alex, must be hard watching him get sick being so young, hope he gets better real quick!
Jan hope everything starts to settle for you, you've had a really rough few months.
I'm not sure if we are completely mad or not but we are heading over to QLD & NSW end of March but where driving eeeeeeek!!! We got so many places to go see from QLD to NSW that it isn't viable to fly then drive a hire car. It's been so full on the last couple of days, we've decided to move back to QLD next year after DH gets his long service but so much to do in the meantime with finishing the house off with reno's etc. Busy busy times ahead and plus I wanted to commence study next year but I might have to check if I can do a mid year intake cos I think beginning of next year will be too full on with us moving interstate etc.

Driving across the country with 3 kids in the car....? Wow, I really don't envy you!
But sounds exciting all the plans for the next year :)
-
CK how is Alex? Poor little thing with his first cold. Hopefully it disappears quickly.
Danni wow!! Have you thought about moving before or a recent thing? Yes you will be busy!! Makes life interesting though.
DH sent me out today as I was feeling down in the dumps. Did some retail therapy. Though not impressed at buying jeans two sizes larger. Grrr!!! It was nice to finally eat sushi again after so long!!!!
-
Finally falling asleep as the panadol starts to kick in thankfully.
Reail therapy is good stuff. Especially if it involves food you couldn't eat while pregnant.
-
Morning
Mr Levi has been good the last few days. Hopefully his growth spurt is over.
Can't believe he's in 0 fully now :(
I'm getting ready to pack for our first trip away :) can't believe how much he's grown in 2.5 months.
Hugs everyone xx
-
We moved to WA from QLD 7 yrs ago, so moving interstate doesn't bother me besides leaving behind friends.
The trip is all go ATM, the boys are fine traveling with been there done that. We did a North WA Kimberly's region trip when DS2 was 6 months old so i think it will be fine

I can't believe how much packing I have to do for a 3 night holiday lol. Ive packed 2 outfits for each day after the amount of dribbling Levi is doing lately, yesterday he went through 4 bibs with drool and sick, I think I'd best double the amount I have already packed. Haven't even started packing for hubby and I lol.
I was going to bake again tomorrow for brother in laws birthday but mother in law is insisting she does it. I don't think she realized how much I wanted too. Oh well, I'll have to find another excuse when I'm back from holidays :)
-
Enjoy your holiday Amumma :) Ours was great! Wow 0 Already! Lilly will be moving up into 00 soon I think. She is 6.5kg now.
Wow Dan all the way to QLD? Good luck with the move!
Baby Bunting have a sale on the Bumbo's seats atm CK they are $75 with free delivery including the tray. Couldnt find it cheaper elsewhere so I ordered one :)
Hooray for retail therapy Jan! Yeah I feel the same way about clothes at the moment, have a bunch of weight to shift to get back down to a size 14. Pesky baby bulge!
Never need an excuse to bake :D Just bake! Then freeze it and feed it to hubby with his lunches over the course of the next week, that is what I do.
-
Heh, Big W have them advertised for $54 so was going to go there. He's just getting so frustrated wanting to sit or stand up most of the time. Need to check that his chubby little legs fit before I buy him one though. Might go have a look tomorrow.
Today he's being the king of catnappers. I know he's tired, but he's so busy playing he's finding it hard to wind down for sleeps and he wakes up after only a short time. Though last night he made me laugh - he was laying on his mat playing with his toys and chattering to himself when he went quiet...looked across and he'd fallen asleep, just as though he'd conked out mid-play :)
Hard to believe our bubbas are all nearly 3 months old, or already 3 months old! Time is just flying so quickly...
-
Yup the $75 includes the tray as well CK, not just the seat. I believe the one at Big W is just the seat. I popped her in a friends one on holidays and she fit well ;)
I know 3 months is too fast :(
-
It's flying by isn't it!!! It kinda seems like ages ago we were all pregnant doesn't it?!
CK yesterday violet did the biting thing too!!! Just gentle biting but still hurt.. She hasn't done it today though really...! Ha. Funny babies.
Violet is in 0s now too! Hahahaha.
-
Alex just doesn't want to sleep anywhere except on me atm - think he's feeling a bit yukky again. It's a pain because I have a bunch of large pots that need washing and can't put him in a sling to do it due my clutziness and hot water being a bad combo. Plus my butt is going numb.
-
How much use/time do you reckon you'd get out of the bumbo??
CK Abby falls asleep like that on her play mat nearly daily, sometimes in the mornings she will play for hours on the mat then all of a sudden fall asleep but I have to be cautious DS2 isn't alone with her cos he's just a big goof!
Gotta get this extra weight off and me being impatient I'm thinking about trialing the herballife diet for a month to kick start me.
DH is on the look out for a new job in QLD while I've been researching buying a block of land and nice big new house to build :). Kinda pretty excited to be moving back and being able to enjoy a nicer location and to be closer to family but still far enough away :p

I will get heaps of use out of it, DD hates lying down now, and it means I can stick her wherever I am when DH is back at work. You can pop them onto the bench while your cooking, you can use them in the shower or bath, you can use them as a highchair till they are old enough to sit up themselves, you can use them to keep bubs in one spot for 5 secs LOL ;) You can use them from 3mths to whenever they are strong enough to put their feet on the ground and get out of it, but the tray can keep them in there haha. We had a 9mth old in it while we were away.

Alllo Ladies and Bubs
Just got back from the Nurse, miss Z's stats are -
Weight - 7.2kgs
Length - 64cm
Everything else seems to be going great with her as well :)
Hope everyone is going well!
Harriett has her first bit of Kindy tomorrow! eeeeeeeeeeeeek
Then her first dance lesson on Friday!
-
Oooh how exciting! And Miss Z is growing so well :)
Just went on a bit of a shopping spree and put a bunch of winter clothes on layby at Big W - now just need to cross my fingers Mister Alex doesn't grow out of them before he gets to wear them...but should be ok, they're size 0 and he's only just in 00 now....DD was still in 0 at nearly 18 months old...but he's a lot bigger than she was. Boys clothes are so much fun too - got him the cutest little jeans, trackpants and hoodies :)
Got playgroup tomorrow and then baby rhyme session at our local library next week - should be fun.
-
Heya ladies!
So i was wondering, should I be taking violet to the doctor for any checkups other than the routine ones when she has her injections? Or is it enough to weigh her and make sure she's putting on weight etc?
I also wondered what everyone else does for play etc- we do tummy time, play mat, playing with her toys, reading, singing songs, playing music etc... Is there anything else that I should be doing to provide the best amount of stimulation etc that I can?
How's everyone's day been? Violet is three months today- its gone so fast!
-
I'd say just the ones in her book - general developmental check and make sure she's putting on weight. I don't even bother weighing Alex in between checkups generally, it's pretty easy to tell he's growing when I keep having to adjust the shoulder markers on his car-seat and buy new clothes for him :)
And that's about as much stimulation as I give Alex, other than going to playgroup and rhymes at the library. We'll start swimming soon, once he's old enough. But those are just as much for me as for him, means getting out of the house and meeting new people - get to talk to some adults for a change.
-
I'm looking for a playgroup, gave up on the idea of mothers group
https://www.playgroupaustralia.com.au seems to have them all listed.
Thats about as much as I do with Lilly too, aside from play dates with a friend of mine that has a 2yr old and a 6mth old. Her 6mth old is facinated with Lilly.. Lilly still isnt that keen LOL
Sigh, shes started rolling on her side in her sleep again but wont sleep unwrapped. Be the death of me!
-
I haven't found a playgroup yet. I have a friend who comes around weekly, her little boy is 8 weeks older than Levi so we put them on the floor to look/play with each other and we chat for 4 hours lol.
Learnt baby massage today, Levi fell asleep after lol. Guess he likes it.
I also do sign language with Levi but at this stage he just watches me.
-
Lilly's new bumboes seat arrived today so she spent the morning helping mummy in the Kitchen
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...mummy-kitchen/
-
Uh Lolpigs...you know you're not meant to cook the baby, right?
Heheheheheheh, that is a gorgeous photo.
-
Hehehehe :) She has a paddy if she is on the floor becuase she cant sticky beak at everything I'm doing.
Thank you :)
-
CK, thanks for the reassurance! I don't really need to weigh violet either really- she's constantly outgrowing everything too! Hahha. I'll have to get out the blue book and have a bit of a check at when the appointments are meant to be! I stupidly didnt realize they were written in there! Dopey mummy....
Lolpigs, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! She looks adorable in there playing with toys! So cute!! Can you buy the bumbo tray sepertely? I already have a bumbo but no tray!
I heard a saying today "my body is not ruined, I'm a tiger who earned my stripes" - I like it :)
-
Yeah you can get them seperate they are great the trays :)
