Hi Mollie, welcome back! Hope your sister is doing better - it's a long tough road ahead.
We just got back from driving to Lancelin and back simply because I had a bad case of cabin fever. 2.5hrs there, which he slept for most of it and a stop in between so Alex could play, feed, kick his legs without a nappy on under the trees, alfresco pee but miss hitting Mummy (Yay!) and then 1.5hrs back which he also slept through and is still asleep! Thinking about waking him as it's 5.30pm and if I don't he's gonna be up all night.
Sorry to hear Miss Z is having a rough time with her needles Nikky, Alex has his booked for next week so I'm hoping he'll be ok with them. I'm also booked to have my next depo shot but DH and I were talking about skipping it. Give my body a chance to clear the stuff out of my system before we start actively TTC again. Will have to see, I'm a little undecided as I *really* don't want to accidentally fall straight away and wind up with another summer baby...
Nice to hear from you Mollie sorry to hear about your sister. She is in the right place to get help. It must've been stressful for you all.
Lolpigs sorry you are having such a hard time. I'm sure once she has mastered all of these movements she will sleep better for you. Not much help for you now though.
Amumma sorry to hear you are sick with gastro. That's great that your mum has been able to help. Gastro is awful
Nikky immunisation time again I have to get Jess' done this week. Not looking forward to it. I hope Miss Z feels better soon.
CK wow I can't believe he slept all that way. Jess whinges after 15 mins lol.
I've abandoned the solids. I was skeptical but followed the paeds advice but it made her reflux come back with a vengeance. I wonder why he would recommend it? I guess it works for some reflux babies. I've left a message with paed to see what he says about it.
Last night was the rotation of DS waking, then Jess, then DS etc etc. Very tired today!
I'm starting to worry about Levi's needles, last ones he was ok but with also teething. Won't be much fun, plus he's 4 months on my birthday so he can get them a few days later lol.
Poor tyke, she has always been such a laid back happy bub, that when she screams/cries for the day! you just know something isn't feeling well for her
Gave her her first taste of panadol today...she spat most of it back out!
Can def see lil toothiepegs coming thru as well.......oh joy! Here's hoping they come through before we get on the boat!
Hmmm my birthday on Wednesday. Harriett is way too excited about that! Can't wait to see what she made me hehe
Nikky DS2 couldn't or wouldn't have the normal baby panadol so I just ended up buying the orange flavoured older age group panadol and altering the dose which is on the packet.
Molly hope your sister recovers quickly.
Jan bugger the solids haven't helped. Also have you had Jess tested for allergies or anything. I think the paed probably was hoping it would help her cos I know DS1's reflux disappeared with solids at 4months.
Yeah Lilly likes Neurofen much better, hates that cherry flavoured panadol.
Shame about solids Jan, it is what I was worried about my pead said it too but from what I've seen 1/3 of the time it helps 1/3 of the time it makes it worse and 1/3 of the time it does nothing. So its pretty hit and miss. The reason they recommend it is in theory its heavier than milk so it will stay down or something. Were you adding the thickener to the Farex? If not make sure you do, a friend with a reflux baby said for all his solids she had to add it to make sure it stayed down.
I hope she is feeling better soon hun.
Thanks here is hoping she sorts herself out soon!
Lilly has to have her needles, going to ask to dr to do them tomorrow when I see him for me.
Lolpigs- I would have been FURIOUS at the auntie feeding Lilly custard!!!!!!!!!! How dare someone feed your baby, especially without checking if you'd even started her on solids yet?! Uh that makes me so mad for you.. HANDS OFF! I get that she meant well but geez. I'd almost have lost it at her!!
AM- gastro is foul, you poor thing!!!!! How yuck for you!
Mollie- awww sorry to hear about the family dramas.. Hope your sister is on the road to recovery.. Definitely a stressful time in sure!
Nikky- I hope Zoe is feeling better.. Poor little bubs. Darn needles making them feel so yucky!
CK I've heard the depo can stay in your body for a while.. Depends I guess how fast you hope to fall pregnant when you do start trying? You could just use condoms in the mean time if you didn't get the shot? I'm just going to use them instead of going on any other contraception.. That is, when I finally feel up to DTD as I'm
STILL sore down there! Um wow, that would've been one uncomfortable summer just before your DD was born!!! You would've been heavily pregnant over the summer too!!
Have also heard the same thing about the orange flavoured nurofen tasting better than the cherry flavoured panadol! Violet doenst like the panadol either..
It was my birthday yesterday and DH wanted to know what I wanted- and I said I wanted to go on a shopping spree for baby things hahahah. So we spent the day buying baby stuff- was such fun! Bought a big bath, toys (I love the fisher price rattle that's shaped like a diamond ring! Hehhe!) some more decals for her wall, etc etc... Yay for shopping!
Hi guys - hope you don't mind me joining this thread now? You guys have obviously been chatting for awhile. I'm a first time mum to a little guy born at the start of Nov. What an experience this is!
He had his immunisations last week and apart from the actual trauma of the event and being a bit groggier for next 48hrs he was great. Unfortunately we are not getting a heap of sleep right now - dummy helps him fall asleep but also is a problem because he wakes up looking for it! Has anyone else got this problem? Also - he tends to only sleep for 45mins at a time during the day (despite me trying to resettle him for 20mins or so - he just gets quite angry at my attempts!). I'm breastfeeding and he feeds every 3hrs (day) and does two 4-5hr feeds overnight. How often are other peoples bubs feeding? Oh and he's also on meds for reflux.
Thanks guys.
Yep, we have been talking for a LONG time now! it has been, um, about a year now :O :O
We are a great bunch really... we never stop talking! and swap stories of what the bubs are up too! so it is a great way to share experiences and find out what each other are doing and what works and what doesn't!
I'm a mum of a 4 year old and a 4 month old! and it is FUN FUN FUN!
Miss Z (4 month old) just had her immunisations on Monday, and she was a pretty crabby bubs for the rest of the day! but is okay now
As for not getting a lot of sleep, some of the mums here are going to nod their heads in agreement with you. Don't hate me, but Miss Z has slept like a dream from the start! I also co-sleep, so I find that ensures both of us sleep a lot more and a lot better!
I'm sure the other girls are going to be able to give you some advice on the 45min cat naps during the day! again, I can't! my kid SLEEEPS! (unlike her oldest sister who NEVER SLEPT!)
There are 2 mums who are going through the reflux situation here as well poor babies and poor mums!
Hope we can help and feel free to jump on in with any questions, and vents, and woe is me's! we all do it! tis a great place to come and let it all out and not be judged!
