I actually managed to find a sexy satiny BF/Maternity Bra at Target/KMart the other week... and I'm an E cup!! I was so shocked - I had to buy it lol

I'm not game enough to try Bras with wires yet. Let us know how you get on if you do!

    Hey Ladies and Bubba's!

    Sorry i've been MIA again...

Deana, im so sorry this has happened hun As much as you have to stay strong for your little man you still have to cry and let it out and not hold it inside. Buzzie has given you some great advice and I hope DP comes around. Huge hugs xo Hope Blake is better now.

We are going well here, Isla is well. Still formula feeding 180mls every 4 hours during the day then at night she will usually go down 9ish then wake up about 4am to 5:30am in the morning for a feed. We are actually going to put her in the cot for the 1st time tonight to see how she goes. I've been letting her sleep in it during the day so she gets used to it so will see how tonight goes. Not sure if you all remember but we have been co-sleeping with her and now she's getting too big for the bed insert.
To get her to sleep during the day I wrap her, lie her on her side in the cot, give her the dummy, pat her bum lightly for a couple of minutes then walk away and she usually puts herself to sleep. Im so relieved about this because I always remember having to nurse my Son off to sleep which used to be a pain and very time consuming.
She's only awake for about 1 hour or more incraments during the day then sleeps/naps for about an hour. So we haven't got her into a proper routine yet.
Does anyone else have routines for sleeping during the day?

Loving Mothers Group at the moment, we've started an excercise morning every thursday so that's been alot of fun but hard work since im so unfit! One of the girls is a Maui Thai (sp?) fighter so she tells us what to do. It's really fun and at no cost!

Can't believe it's nearly Christmas! Pretty much gotten all the shopping done, hate venturing out to the shops this time of the year, crazy!

Hope everyone is going well xo

Hi Apes how did you go with the cot at night time? Is the cot in your room with you? No routines here, Isaac is in some kind of pattern though I think. I'm still co-sleeping but I've ditched the co-sleeper thing and Isaac is just in bed with me. Usually after his bath/massage I'll put him in his pram to sleep (its a flat bassinet type), then just wheel it in next to my bed when I want to go to sleep. If he won't go back in that after he wakes up for a feed then I just put him in bed next to me.

Mothers group has been great here too although I missed a week when I went to Perth. At the last meeting on Thursday I noticed one of the bubs has a flat head.. I'd heard about it but never seen it before. It has made me a bit paranoid now, I'm making sure Isaac has his head turned to different sides when he sleeps on his back, and also letting him sleep on his belly on me sometimes, and also sleeps in the sleepywrap too to take the pressure off. I don't know if flat head is very common, but after seeing the poor little bub its made me more conscious of it.

I'm going on another trip next week! Isaac and I are going by coach to Adelaide, train to Melbourne, then train to Sydney then up to the central coast to stay with my dad for christmas, then flying back to Adelaide and coach back here. It's going to be a huge trip. I only just planned and booked it a couple of days ago, and now I'm starting to panic a little about certain parts of the journey, like the overnight train from country Victoria to Sydney.. my reason for that was that Isaac would most likely sleep most of the way being night time, and we'd avoid getting to dads late at night with both of us being overtired. Now I'm worrying about how I will be able to sleep! I'm worried about falling asleep holding Isaac (I don't think I'll have anywhere to put him down) as I've heard lots of scary things about falling asleep sitting up with a baby. I suppose I'll just deal with the problems of travelling alone when I come to them.. like I might have to ask someone to hold bub while I go to the toilet etc. I'll pack light too, just a small backpack as I learnt from last time the hassle of having too much stuff.

hi to everyone and your bubs

Better go, I have an assignment due in a few hours and also have to go food shopping

Buzzie - go you good thing. I am too scared to try underwire yet, but I want to try to start jogging again, so I will need more support than maternity bras can give. The bb's joggle a lot and it hurts in the mat bra. I want to be a jogger not a joggler! GL finding something sexy. I am DD to E at the mo, so awesome tip Pantha!

Bec - you are such a brave soul. Don't worry about falling alseep sitting up with Isaac - as you'll nap but you won't fall asleep and drop him! I fall asleep sitting up with Hannah all the time. If you get a travel pillow for your neck, it will help it to stop from lolling about and make it more comfy for you. Isaac will most probably love snuggling up to you and hearing your heartbeat! Hannah seems to. Oh hope your assignment went well and you got some groceries. A girl has got to eat!

Apes - that's awesome about Isla. More often than not Hannah is like Bodie - lots of effort in putting to sleep! We too are trialing the cot during the day. Not at night yet - Hannah's room is too far away from ours and we have yet to buy a monitor and also I am worried about the cats but in this heat we can't shut them out of her room else she'll roast. So Hannah is in the bassinette by our bed for night sleeps. No routine here really, except Hannah seems to go down for a long sleep between 6-7.30pm. I hear you on the christmas crowds. Have done some of our chrissy shopping but not all.

AFM - the christening went really well yesterday. Hannah didn't have a poo nami ( phew) and after a bit of fussing she slept during the ceremony and for most of the party afterwards. My dysfunctional family got on well enough yesterday though at times you could cut the air with a knife. Just luckily there were three different areas to congregate in, so they all kept relatively separately. It was really good to see everyone, and I reckon it's the last trip my Dad will make to Qld. I still can't believe he drove from Vic. It was so good to see him but he can be such an insensitive bugger whilst being well meaning. As he was leaving he said to my friend, who is LTCC with loads of failed IVF attempts and 2 m/c " good luck with the production" - in front of other people. I have tried to call my friend today but she's not answering. I want to apologise for his well meaning gaff. We had these lovely vanilla cup cakes on a stand as the christening cake - got them at a great discount. Has anyone checked out the prices for a "christening cake"? The cheap ones come in at $70! WTF? I can spend that money on some decent booze instead!

    Anyway, take care all.

Bec - just a thought - what about using the sleepy wrap? Mine has arrived and I am yet to try it. I lost the instruction book - I put it somewhere safe. Am going to try that U tube link for instructions!

Pretz - hey congrats on your little man! We were in TTC room for a bit.
Buzzie - Thank you! Yes, I remember that we were in TTC together for a bit. Congratulations on your little girl. I see that she was born the day before my little boy was born.

thanks dory I was more worried about how Isaacs head could fall forward with his chin on his chest if I fall asleep holding him, it's pretty dangerous for bubs to sleep like that and if I was asleep I could unknowingly move him into that position. And that snuggling is so beautiful isn't it! I love when Isaac falls asleep on me, sometimes I leave him there to sleep for a while if I'm just reading or watching tv or something. That's what you'll love about your sleepywrap too, it's like a lovely long snuggle, and there little forehead is in kissing distance too. I wore mine to do my shopping today, and got some nice comments and looks from people because he just looks so much more comfy there than being in a pram. I really hope yours works for you and Hannah! Did you figure out how to wear it?

‎Bec, yes this is the 3rd night Isla has been in the cot in her big room and slept for 7 hours straight then gone back to sleep after her feed for another 2 hrs = mummy & daddy very happy! hehe. I was scared because Isla was sleeping with us that she'd wake up alot more but all seems good so far.

Dory, Bodie used to be alot of trouble trying to get to sleep but Isla is an angel, it's funny how 2 siblings can be so completley different. Good to hear Hannah's christening went well (besides the family awkwardness).

I agree mothers group has been great im really happy i made an effort to go this time unlike with my son. We have started up excercising every thursday morning at Terrigal Haven and we excercise with the prams too which is a bonus. Dont have to pay either all free as one of the mothers does Maiu Thai boxing (sp?) and she's a fitness fanatic. It's pretty fun but my god im so unfit!

Anyways better get going, off to the doctors this morning to get back on the pill. Have heard about this Yaz pill that doesn't mess with your hormones etc so going to see if I can get that. DH has told me he doesn't want to get the snip yet, he wants to wait a couple more years as he said its like they're taking away his 'manhood' Bahahahaha, Men!

Apes - PML at DH! I don't blame him for not wanting to do it proceedure wise but loosing his manhood is cute. Guess I would feel the same if I had my tubes done.. Is he definatly done having kids?

Nothing interesting here.. Got a huge weekend planned tho. This sat we are having 'christmas' with all robs family so big lunch and xos there so many kiddies robs dad dresses up as Santa and does all the presents, really nice I think but as they rotate each year with partners families it's a pain doing it a week early and confusing Ash! Then he's got his birthday party with robs family Sunday at a swimming centre and if it doesn't rain charols by candlelight Sunday night. Then next Thursdays big dinner for His actual bday and my brothers (born on the same
day) then of course Christmas!! Ahhhh So don't recommend Christmas babies to anyone planning another one!!

Bec - ur trip sounds like a great get away! I couldn't sit in a seat that long unless Bella was asleep all of it cos she hates me sitting with her for longer than 5 mins!

Hello to everyone, hope ur not all going MAD like me with shopping centres and car parks!! Ahhhhhhhh

Buzzie - it is maddness huh? The only good thing is I am not stuck going after work and weekends to the shops! You sound like you've ot a big week planned indeed. Hannah is like Bella - hates to be still.

Bec - I didn't realise it was dangerous for bubs, but it looks pretty uncomfortable.

Apes - my bro had the snip and reckons it was the best thing he ever did - after he recovered of course.

Tried out my sleepywrap today - it's pretty comfy. DH likes it. Hannah tolerated it for a while and was happily looking around. Not sure she'll do much sleeping in it. I am going to wear it around home a bit more then try going out to the shops when I think I've got it under control. Better go, bein summoned by a grizzle, a sad little grizzle.

Hello to Pantha, Apes, Belfie, Wite, Fuzzie, Chuckie, Connie, Kirsten, Catherine ( sorry if I have missed anyone, I usually do!)

Apes - wow that's great! Hope Isla keeps up the long sleeps

Isaac just had an amazing two nights in a row of long sleeps! I'm not going to jinx myself again by hoping it's the start of something, the last time I did that he had the worst night ever, waking every hour. Anyway, the last two nights he has slept for 5 or 6 hours, waking at 3 for a quick sleepy feed, then sleeping another 4 hours! I'm expecting tonight to be a shocker now.

Buzzie - your weekend sounds busy, have fun at your early christmas. I'm avoiding shopping centres like the plague. I'm doing my food shopping at a little shop down the road so I can avoid the chaos. And happy birthday to Asher!
I don't know how I'll go with the trip actually, it's going to be the longest I've ever sat, but I figured train has more space and more chance of walking around than a plane. Isaac is pretty used to sleeping on me as I 'wear' him every day for at least one of his middle of the day sleeps so hopefully it should be ok. I do have a minor panic every time I think about it though.

dory - yeah it is dangerous when they go into a 'C' position, it obstructs their airways. That's why it's not good to leave babies in car seats or other things that put them into that position for a long period of time. Forgot to say glad to hear Hannah Bears christening went well. Did you manage to apologise to your friend in the end? Hopefully she wasn't hurt by the comments. And well done to your dad for driving all that way too! I'm sure Hannah will get used to the sleepywrap after more goes

Buzzie, Completely know what you mean about christmas babies! Bodie's bday is 27th December so 2 days after and Ash is 2 days before! haha Bodie was supposed to be born 22nd January 2008 but to our surprise came alot earlier.
It's 3 full on days for us having xmas day at my aunt & uncles for lunch then over to the inlaws for xmas dinner, then boxing day all mums side of the family come down, then Bodie's birthday the next day. We are having it a the Reptile Park this year so should be alot of fun (and stress!). He's having a wiggles theme so wiggles cake and cupcakes, plates, cups, straws, you name it! LOL

Bec - ah - I know what you mean now. I am not sure what I was thinking of, but it wasn't the 'C" position. You're right - probably a lot more room to walk around on the train, and at least you'll be avoiding the airports at this time of year which are worse than the shops!

I put Hannah in the sleepy wrap yesterday arvo and was rewarded with a pretty huge scream.. must have done something wrong and she was uncomfortable. Oh well. It will get better with practice. We also went outside after a massive storm here, and she was soooooo interested in everything. I wanted to put her on a rug on the grass and have some pants off time, but it was still raining. So we stood in the light rain together - she didn't seem to mind but the rain drops were cold so we weren't out there for long.

    Did you jinx yourself?

Apes - I hadn't looked at Bodie's birthdate before - must have been a big surprise if you didn't expect him for another month or so. At least you got christmas in whilst pregnant . The birthday plans sound really really exciting and the christmas thing very busy. How do you get on with your in laws?

For Christmas we are going to my mums - 2 hour drive and then on to the in laws - another 2 hours. Will probably stay at my mums christmas night and then travel on boxing day. To be honest I really can't be bothered with the travel, but it's only a small component of our time, and it will be ok if Hannah travels well. We will probably break the trip on the way back too. I don't think we'll stay long at either, as DH really needs some time at home to chill. ( and start working on the list of chores I am compiling!)

Belfie - how is Annika's sleeping going? Is she still a champion? Bet Xander is looking forward to chrissy.

Chuckie - how is Chloe going?

Fuzzie - I hope Bali is just awesome! Hopefully you are getting in a wave or two! And a massage!

Pantha - how is Lotte going?

Deana - I am so sorry I forgot you in my quick round up yesterday. Hope you are going ok and hope Blake is ok too... I think of you and Blake often. Hugs.

Our mothers group is having its first meeting away from Q Health today. Should be interesting to see how many turn up and what the conversation is like. I like the idea of an exercise mothers group too. Might float that idea after the silly season!

Dory, hope you had a good time at mothers group. Where did you go? We are meeting at people's houses now which is good.

Wite, just a quick question for you. Did/do you have a underactive or overactive thyroid? Turns out my sister has just been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and I remember you had trouble with it during pregnancy. She hasn't been getting periods hardly at all, can never lose weight (even though she goes to the gym every day) feels rundown and tired all the time etc. So that's why she got it checked out. She starts the medication in 6 weeks time, how did you feel about the medication? Did you have to take it when pregnant? Sorry for all the questions.

Huge storm here at the moment, both kids asleep. Ahhh feel the serenity! lol

Apes- My thyroid was Overactive but I do know a bit about underactive aswell because a few friends have theirs under. The poor thing feeling ran down and tired etc- even when your thyroids over you can feel that way..never losing weight is very common (For overactive you can lose drastic amounts of weight & I was one of those rare cases i australia who PUT alot of weight on!)..The meds DEFINATLY help and your sisters probably done the right thing by getting it checked earlier whcih means with the meds her levels should be able to go to normal pretty quickly. I didn't take any when I was pregnant at first but I ended up under the care of an Endocrinologist (Is your sister pregs? if so-Get her GP or ObGyn to refer her to one who can watch her throughout the pregnancy, they keep levels in check). The Endos were great-they kept my levels in check & put me back on meds when I was about 25weeks pregnant. As far as I know Thyroid meds are safe to take from second trimester-but don't quote me on that because it will all depend on what medication she will end up taking etc..
Hopefully once your sister starts taking the medication she will start feeling less tired & gain more motivation..I always know when my thyroid is out because I get tried & really puffed (I get puffed coming back from the letterbox)! Feel free to ask me anything..I do have a thyroid support group I started in another Mothers forum where there are a few with Underactive thyroids- your sister (or you) are more than welcome to pop on there and ask anything aswell (Or you can catch me here-or FB)

Thanks heaps Wite, I will give her the info. No she's not pregnant but just wanting her body and cycles to get back to normal so if next year her partner & her decide to have a baby then they will be able to. So I hope it means that they don't have to try for ages. She has been seeing a gynocologyst but not sure if she's seen a Endo yet. Thanks again for the info and I will pop in and have a look at the other thread.

Apes your mothers group fitness mornings sound great.. and what a beautiful spot to do it in! I used to love going to the haven for fish and chips.

Dory - oh no! were her feet inside or outside of it? I've started having Isaacs legs hanging out of it as his toes were getting too squashed up in there. He does get a bit grumpy sometimes when I first put him in, but then I kind of walk a little bit bouncy, and he settles down. I hope it ends up working for you.

We had mothers group today at the library, we've all organised to start swimming lessons in the same class at the end of January. I can't wait for that, Isaac seems to like the water so it should be fun, and the other mums are all so nice so it'll be great to continue our group together.

Could Isaac be teething already? He has sooo much drool, has been biting on anything that gets near his mouth (he can't put anything in yet as he can't hold anything), and I can see white bumps under his gums and he's been grumpy lately. It seems way too early though, he's only 10 weeks.

edit: And yes Dory I did jinx myself. Last night Isaac woke every hour or two crying. He doesn't normally cry at night, so I think he had belly pains. He had diarreah (sp?) today after a few days of no poos, so hopefully that fixes it up!

Bec - I thought DS was teething at 3 months he drooled big time and chewed his hands, I also saw what I asumed were teeth coming but he didn't teeth till 11 months. Bella does the same now too so I'm thinking it's just a baby thing maybe?!?

Apes - we did the wiggles thing for his first bday with all that. Was so cute. sounds like a great day hope the weather is nice for you. We had to change our plans but still going swimming
