today we are off to the hollywood farmers markets. hoping to put together a picnic and head up to griffith park and enjoy the view over the city...the weather is on our side! i just hope the morning sickness is going to give me a break lol.

Excitement is over, just left with a stinky house with boarded up windows lol. Insurance assessor is coming tomorrow, hopefully we will get some windows back soon. I think I will see if they can replace Erin's linen. Her clothes in the drawers don't smell, but her linen was on the bottom shelf of the change table so it was out in all the smoke and I am not very keen to reuse it.
W thought the whole thing was fantastic. He took a few photos for show and tell at kindy today and later on had a crowd of kids around as he did a blow by blow (slightly exaggerated) account of what happened lol. A was a bit freaked out though and spent all of yesterday howling to be carried around the house. She seems a mostly better today though.
Erin got her first tooth yesterday. Oddly enough, she is the same age to the day as W was when he got his first tooth. They both sat at the exact same age too.
Found out today that the neighbour is not insured. That means that we pay our excess and our insurance company will fix everything up for us, but then they will try to get the costs back from him. Poor bugger is a builder and has lost his entire shed full of all his tools and machines so he has no income now.
I have no sympathy for him Arte, he should have had insurance, especially if he was self employed! That totally sucks that you have to do it through your insurance - I hope they will be able to get the money back from him. Bugger about the baby blankets too
Trill, I am wavering between 'well, that is why people have insurance' and 'how on earth is he going to get past this' - he is a nice enough guy, and must be around 60 so would have been looking to retire soonish. There has to be at least 10k of damage to our place. I am wondering if I should give him first option to be the builder to fix it to keep his costs down, or if I should just get an outsider because if he is the one ultimately paying for it then he might try to go cheaper.
And E has no bed now so she is in ours and OMG she is all over the place! It is a super king and she somehow gets from the middle to sideways with her feet hanging over the edge! None of my kids have every wriggled in their sleep before - she is the queen of the co-sleeping H.

my only worry with him doing it is timing. you want to sell the place and dont want to wait for him to do it over a long time ITMS. but then again, i like to keep things happy too...tricky one.
I had to giggle at Es bed antics. i had to bunk in with leila last night and boy that girl knows how to colonise a bed space. i was lying right on the edge of the king size bed PMSL!
Hope that everyone is having a lovely long weekend! we are having a blast...the girls got their first taste of serious snow yesterday and we even got caught in a snowy downpour on our walk to the restaurant!!! it was all quite exciting! nothing like waking up to a blanket of snow...especially when you are warm and toasty inside hahaha. tomorrow we drive up to seattle with a brief stop at Mt Saint Helens volcano. we plan a couple of days in seattle, maybe a trip to canada (there's a ferry) and then onto "twilight" country....Forks etc. i really look forward to it as it is meant to be stunning.
Wow Cass! Totally jealous! Say hi to Meow (not that she would know who I am lol) - I would be such a convert to her GAPS thing if it wasn't so much work! Makes total sense to me, we feed our bodies so much that we weren't designed to eat. Like those zoo gorilla's that are morbidly obese (and chain smokers) because they are fed donuts, and everyone laughs at them yet we do the same to ourselves.
DH is out hunting deer. It is a real buzz to see a real life wild one isn't it! I saw one once when we were camping. It came galloping down and stood right in our clearing (while DH was off in the other direction trying to shoot one lol).
Turns out the neighbor has house insurance but says his shed wasn't covered. I am getting his policy number though because I am pretty sure he needs to make a claim - even if his shed isn't covered, his house policy should cover the fence and our damage. They are sending someone on Tuesday to board up our windows properly and measure and quote everything else. Fingers crossed that we keep the good weather for a bit longer!
Cass - we were living in Seattle when Mt St Helens blew. The only thing I remember about living there (I have a really bad memory of my childhood, I was 5 when we were there) - was there was a family of racoons who used to come to the back door each evening and we'd feed them.
Happy Easter and Passover everyone!! Someone was very excited with her Humpty egg this morning, but has had two separate trips to the backyard looking for more (she will be disappointed). We're doing a hunt up at the headland tonight where some bunnies live, then there is one at the botanic gardens tomorrow as well as a new playground opening.
I had Miss K in the bed a few weeks ago and I'm refusing to do it again. I had a shocking sleep and had a headache for just over 2 days afterwards. I've told her if she is scared or similar and needs me, then she can sleep on the floor on her foldout lounge.
Arte - I've never heard of having separate insurance for a shed (unless it was in something like a farm situation)? But then I don't usually deal with that sort of thing.
We got caught in traffic yesterday!! Went into town for the markets and it was just crazy. Spent 10 minutes inching onto the highway and across the bridge. I know it will be busy around the Bay tomorrow with all the Canberra people heading home (they aren't on school hols yet), but wasn't expecting it in sleepy old Moruya. Had some awesome pizza though, made it worthwhile.
Cally, bummer about the traffic jam! We don't get that busy here, but heaps of people are down for easter so town is full of tweens wandering around looking as bored as bat**** lol. There is sooo nothing for them to do here over summer. Bet they are wishing their parents bought holiday homes by the beach instead of the mountain!

In a normal situation you should still be able to claim under the home and contents, but he may have deliberately excluded the shed and contents from the policy to save money. I know we had to cut a lot out of our farm insurance this year because the premiums were scary high. But it was things that were already completely paid for and easy to replace, like the airseeder and sheep. Didn't save a huge amount off the premium but it wasn't necessary to have them covered. I really hope that you can find a way to make them pay for it though.
Cally, that road is such a narrow road (if it's the one I'im thinking of) that I can imagine how frustrating it would be to get caught in traffic there. That area just is not set up to deal with high volumes of traffic.
Easter has been pretty quiet here. Thursday I had to take P back for her post-op check up and everything is great - she's healed really well and he's happy with the way things went. And no more snoring!! So it's definitely helped her and she doesn't have bags under her eyes either anymore. We have no plans for the weekend - DH starts nightshift tonight andI have a heap of uni work to do before we head off to resi school next week. Plus footy season starts so I'm flat out getting organised for that too. And to top it off Telstra deactivated our moedem before we got the new one so I've been without internet since tuesday. I'm really hoping that it turns up on Tuesday or I will be cranky!
And it's our 12'th wedding anniversary today!! It really doesn't feel like we've been married for 12 years. We were together for 15 years back in March! In another 4 years time I will have been with DH for half of my life!
I hope everyone is well and doesn't end up with bellyaches from overindulging in the easter treats

had to lol at the bed sharing stories. L comes into my bed most nights when DH is away, he sleeps great though. Z on the other hand likes to sit and talk and if she does sleep she is all over the place.
Hi Oz, long time no see! I have been wanting to say for ages - your photos are just amazing! I always thought they were awesome, but recently a friend had some professional pics taken and they just didn't compare to yours. There was something off about nearly every shot - framed wrong, lighting wrong, pose wrong etc. You are very talented.
I ate a few small easter eggs the other day and E was squirmy and grizzly all night. Guess sugar is still a no go for me. On the bright side, I am under 70kg for the first time in ages and I only need to lose another 2.5kg to be in the 'healthy' range! I am really hoping to do it before I turn 30 next month.
Procrastinating while I should be doing my toy library work. Going to give it up at the agm because I should be using the small amount of free time I have to study. I need to get into that, still haven't started for the year! Seem to have lost my motivation somewhere.
Is it school holidays over there? Slowly getting through them lol. Went to the city on Tuesday for an appointment for W, only to have it cancelled after I was already there. Grrrr.
DH is back on Saturday, so only a couple more days and then I am having a sleep in!!

Cally: oh we went and visited St Helena! it was so spectacular. but far out, the damage it caused is just mind-boggling. just massive tracts left in the ground where the gas and lava decimated the forest. quite spooky really.
that is cool about the racoons. we stayed at Meow's place and they also have a resident racoon!
Oz: great to see you babe! i cant believe that Z is a miss chatterbox lol. my girls are just bed hogs and impossible to bed share with lol.
AFM: all good here. apparently there was an earthquake off the coast today...now wishing that i didnt choose the motel on the beachfront
we had a fabulous time with Meow and family; seattle seems to be a really funky place that, if it werent so cold, i reckon i would fall in love with...but man, they know how to do winters there!
the cullen house we stayed in was super duper cool! (Arte, yep, Forks is a real place! as is La Push where the reservation is set!). the house is an original built in 1916. it is the only house of that magnitude in the area (poor farming area) and she describes it in her book to a tee. it is actually fun reading the book and then seeing all the places she talks about. although the tour buses doing poses with cardboard cutouts of the characters in front of the house were slightly discroncerting lol.
Res school has been great - so much fun and it's been really beneficial. Great meeting people IRL and putting faces to names too. I love how you just find the people that you 'click' with - found a great bunch of people that are really lovely and we've had heaps of laughs.
On the downside Alister has quite a nasty gash on the back of his head from playing around on the bunk beds and he feel off the top one! So off to Armidale ER we went to get it stitched up. They have to stay in till Monday. He's OK though apart from having a sore head. Just not exactly what I needed to deal with while we're so far from home though.
