LOL Cass. When I was having A I felt soooooo much worse than I ever did with the other 3 and I even said to DH one night that if I knew the m/s was going to be this bad I would have reconsidered having another baby I know I wouldn't have, but gee I felt crook. I wasn't expecting it either. I hope it's not much longer that you have to put up with it though.
I know what you mean about the watched pot. I reckon the worse thing SIL could have done was have MIL go up there so early. It's only a 3 hour drive up there, so MIL could have been there within 4 hours if she wanted to and I think her DS would survive if he stayed with his other grandparents for a few hours until MIL got there. So instead of just being able to go about her business and let herself *go* emotionally, she's got every bottled up because her mother is there waiting for her to go into labour too. It's a ****ty catch22 that I don't think she knows she's created.
Well I have 2 lessons done for this ****ty music assignment and 3 to go. For the listening lesson she said it was OK to use The Imperial March from Star Wars so that made things a bit better LOL. So many people have dropped out of it though which is sad.
haha, i love that you can use star wars on an assignment! keeps it waaayy more interesting lol. i reckon it's good for you though that there are people dropping out. give it a good crack and you can end up top of the class. they gotta fill the J-curve and all no matter what.
oh man, have i been telling DH that i woulda reconsidered dude, it is AWFUL. i reckon it's our body's way of telling us that this is it lol. maybe that's what i'll say on one of those threads that come about being done hahaha. bleerrghhhh.
on another note (but similar line of thought) i have been craving vegemite. so will get DH to get his cave-man boots on and go a-searching tomorrow mmmm vegemite.
Cass, I am sure MS is worse when you have to drag your sorry ass around looking after the other kids. Do ice blocks help? The really sour ones are best for me, like grapefruit fruju or something.
Trill, that is exactly why I didn't want MIL or anyone here when I was going to have a baby - sure it would have been easier having someone to watch the bigger kids, but I couldn't stand the though of someone sitting around waiting for me to go into labour. My other secret reason was that I didn't want to share my newborn cuddles lol
Back to kindy tomorrow (thank goodness!!). I stay at kindy on a Monday and do a bit of office work, but at least they are off playing instead of hanging around me.
yeah having my mum there last time was so tough. the pressure to evict the baby, the emotional pressure for everyone of the anticipation...wont do that again. i am even inclined to have no one to look after the kids. if i can get another birth like Marta it would be easy enough. i guess i should have a neighbour on standby JIC.
Arte: yeah i have some 'preggo pops' that a neighbour gave me, but i am hating any form of sugar ATM. even though they are sour there is some sugar basically i am protein woman lol (eggs, meat, cheese!).
He's here!!! SIL had her baby this morning finally! Rhys James 8lb 11oz, both are well. I'm relieved that she is fine because she's had a lot of issues this pg with bleeding and haematomas under the placenta so they were worried she may need a c/s. I"m hoping that I may get a sneaky visit in with them when I take L to a rep footy trial on Thursday as we have to go to Parkes for it and where they live is only another half hour further.
Sorry I haven't been posting much, I have deadlines on all fronts - work study and life - so have been saving brain function where I can. Re-rout power to life support, a la star trek. Speaking of which, have discovered there's a comic-con here next weekend - I am sooooo going!! It might help lead DD1 another step down the path of nerdicoolness lol.
ahhh MD: you are my soul sista lol. we sooo need to live in the same town!! i would give anything to have a friend to go to nerdy comic fests with lol!
I vote that when we have our Sept 07 meet up that it is conveniently located near a comic-con! I went to Supernova pop culture convention in Brisbane - River from Firefly was there. At night they did the sci-fi night at Movie world - very cool! I was just thinking of it the other day actually, when I was wearing my Lego Starwars cap that they were giving out.

Cass, a tv and a bag of lollies took care of the babysitting here lol. But I like to labour alone anyway, so DH was only there for the last 10 minutes.
Arte: yeah i was thinking of setting up the birthpool this time in the loungeroom instead of the dining/kitchen as we have the TV and another couch in that space where i reckon the girls can be (while watching enormous amounts of TV lol).
Not much going on here, the tail end of jobs to be done and hopefully I will get the house on the market next week. So I will be busy busy with the last of the painting, a few odds and ends and then a whole heap of cleaning. I took the first load of stuff over to the new house today and in a burst of awesome - in the garage someone has cut a hole in the wall that makes a little cubby room under the stairs. Must read Harry Potter to W!!
Arte, that is way cool! You'll have to deck it out for him as a hidey hole/cubby. You sure aren't messing around getting the house ready.
I had newborn cuddles yesterday!!!! Oh he's so gorgeous and tiny and soft and snuggly and I could go on! We only saw them for 10 minutes - L had a school football team selection day on at Parkes from 10am to 1.30pm and SIL only lives another 40 minutes further up the highway so P and I went up there to pick up a GPS for DH anyway and SIL was coming home yesterday so we timed it just nicely to have a very quick cuddle with Rhys and then headed back to Parkes again to get L. Then it was another 1.5hrs back to town. Couldn't get over all the flood water still about the place between West Wyalong and Forbes though - whole farms are still under several feet of water - it's such low-lying country so the water moves really slowly after a flood. You can see where the water was at it's peak and it makes you appreciate the sheer volume of water that went through that's for sure!
Not a lot going on here for the weekend either although I"m very happy that daylight savings ends this weekend - so hard to get the kids up for school when it's dark outside still. P will be back at school on Monday. Its been nice having her home again with just her and A. She hasn't had any pain meds in 2 whole days and is eating heaps better so she's certainly on the mend.
oh gosh, i had forgotten about all the flooding down there...i have been inundated with mum's news on the tornado in townsville
newborn cuddles are soooo nice...especially when you can hand them back over
Arte: i love the way you move sista (literally!). man, it seems like only a couple of weeks ago that you guys decided to go for it and now here you all are! awesome on the cubby in the stairs...but maybe a reading of HP and you telling him to get under the stairs might freak him out hahahaha.
AFM: we had a nice day today. took a morning trip to venice beach so the girls could build sandcastles then had a lovely lunch at our favourite mexican cafe. now am home and trying to wing a nana nap...gotta flash the puppy dog eyes at DH so he can watch the girls haha.
Alrighty, looks like the house won't be on the market this week. In fact, we are extremely lucky we still have a house! The neighbors shed caught fire tonight and our house nearly went up in smoke.
William got up around 1.30 and was out watching telly when I heard some pops so I went to check on him. They were coming from next door but I couldn't see anything - thought the glow was just a light left on but when I looked again there were flames coming up under the eaves. I rang the fire brigade and we watched from the lounge window for a bit but then it started getting very hot so I moved W away from the window. Kept getting hotter and we started to worry so I went down to wake my brother and his girlfriend. I checked in Erin's room on the way and the window shattered (she was in our bed at the other end of the house). So I told my bro to get out, and DH was already waking A and taking W out. I grabbed E and we all went and stood on the road. It is a sick feeling in your gut watching the flames edging closer to your house - our spouting was melting and windows were exploding...
Thankfully the fire brigade came in time and wet it all down so we didn't get any flames in the house - just a bit of smoke damage and the windows. That side of the house is bubbled and melted (all my painting!!).
I think apart from blinds and curtains that Erin's mattress is the only thing we lost (smoke and water). We are sooooo freaking lucky!! Even one more minute and there would have been flames in the house, 5 more minutes and we would have lost nearly everything.
So I guess I won't need to wash those windows tomorrow lol. And my bro gets out of painting the roof for now. Feeling very lucky right about now.
