AFM: our news is that Miss L got her letter of offer in the mail yesterday for her school!!! YAY!! So i called right away and she is in!! WAHOO! they are sending out all the info etc for Orientation in October ...it's all happening!!
Nah, she is a public school chicky, but it has really limited spaces and is really hard to get in...massive population all vying for a spot lol (the whole school from prep to year 6 is 230...tiny for here).
Sounds like L's school is about the size of W's. Except ours goes up to year whatever it is that is before high school - Year 7 or 8?
Made it through another weekend well Getting bored now and have zero inspiration for dinner. Tired of eating easy kid friendly meals but doesn't seem worth making something they won't eat if I am the only one eating it. DH is back on Thursday. I think the cat is missing him most of all, poor thing is following me everywhere.

I know Ginger! Just crazy. I still remember clear as day posting that my baby boy was born - I can feel the sun streaming in the window and I *know* he is sleeping in his little cradle just down the hall. 5 years! I have moved house 4 times and had two more children since then. But nothing is as special as those early days with your first baby
I know right??!!! I spin out everytime I realise that Miss L is turning 5 in like a week and bit and not only that, but that she will soon be a School Kid. woah.
tell ya what though, we are getting some pretty intense outbursts and dramatics...i am hoping that it is an age thing as boy oh boy it is like peering through the looking glass and seeing a mild version of her teenage self. i am not ready
i cant believe we've all been friends for that long as well. how cool is that? i never would have expected when i joined the belly buddies group that we'd all still be talking when the kids are at school!!!
i actually bought L some school shorts the other day (they just wear plain black shorts, any brand) as i saw some nice ones on special. i had to buy him size 8 to get them to fit him!!!!!
Jesus I'm so not ready to send him to school. I've already told the kindy teachers for next year that they are going to have to kick me out before I start crying. It's breaking my heart to have to send my baby off to school. I haven't gotten any school gear organised for him yet, but I'll get him some before they start the orientation program in November. They do 2 half days and then 2 full days at school over 4 mondays.
I started my second prac this week and OMG it's been an eye opener. Small central school K-12 and it's only about 100 students all up, so tiny classes. I'm on a year 4/5 class and some of the kids I could just wring their necks. But there are a quite a few troubled kids in the class so it's great for behaviour management etc. I guess they stand out more in such a small school, whereas at the kids school you might have the same number of kids with problems, but they are spread out over a student population of 300, not 100. But it's all good though. I have a male teacher as my supervisor which is different. He's a nice bloke, very conservative.

Ginger, if I could use a rewind, I would so go back to the days when W was a tiny baby and just enjoy lying on the couch with him cuddled up on my chest, or maybe go for a bus trip to the local shopping mall with him all cute and happy. Seems like a lifetime ago.
Cass, your latest belly pic on FB is just crazy! How can she grow for another 10-11 weeks? Where are you planning to fit her?! My baby belly's always blended into my spare tyre, I never got that totally tummy look that you have going on - it is amazing!
Trill, I hope you are enjoying the prac. I think in the bigger schools they bunch all the rotten eggs together so they aren't present in the main classes, but in a small school I guess they have to include them. At my highschool we used to hang out in a class room at lunch time and the teacher there sometimes complained that she has the 'x-files' for class next lol
W seems positive about school now that we have done some visits in his new class. The old one was too hot and dark which I think didn't help. It made me sleepy and he looked glazed over half the time. He has a couple of old kindy friends in the new class that he likes and all the talk is positive and optimistic rather than saying he wants to stay at kindy. At this stage he will be starting next month (on psychologist advice).

Arte: I know right?? i have legs and arms and head and butt all overtaking my body she is one kid that loves to spin around nothing like a foot jammed under ribs to know you are alive...and in need of oxygen haha.

noah is so excited for prep next year - cant believe how it is creeping up and these kids wil, be 5 In the next w weeks. Holy moly! N is doing great - the glasses have really changed things for him. He has had a rough patch at kindy I Thi k just getting used to seeing everything Nd the stimulation - but seems to be through a lot of it now and getting bad to normal. It is sucha privilege to watch him ddevelop at the moment.
j is great too - so grown up now. No nappy for him at all now as he decided he didn't wear them to bed a coup,e of weeks ago.
dh is off overseas again tomorrow :-( nd then again in a couple of week.
Work has been hectic and I was pretty stressed a few weeks back. We went away last weekend to stay at a farm and a day trip to the snow - was just what I needed. And only a month now til we go to Byron for a week. Yee har!
One of my best Friends dad
passed away on Tuesday so I spent tis morning (while dh had boys at wiggles voncert) cooking for her and us for the week - bolognaise, chicken eggplant, zucchini casserole, vege soup , banana bread and a citrus compote. So we are all set
Off to friends for dinner tonight.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend facing such a loss so hard when we lose a parent/parental figure.
We are busy planning a night away in Marysville so that we can go to lake mountain for the snow i am really looking forward to it, might as well embrace the cold hahaha.
Our party plan is a 'dragons in the clouds' party. DH tells the girls a story about the dragons every night (he makes it up as he goes) and it has been going for about 4 months now and the girls just love it. so loads of white tulle for table decorations and paper pom poms and a star pinata ('cause in his story 'stardust' is a dragons cryptonite lol). i am also going to attempt a castle cake...
Cass - mum made me a castle cake this year from the WW cookbook as that is what K picked - it was super easy. Ice cream cones (upside down) as the turrets.
We have 4 little girls coming round for the party. I think I am doing a swimming pool cake. General theme of butterflies, but I am not going overboard. The only thing that is bothering me is finding little bags for the goodies. I was just after something like a nice paper bag that I could glue a butterfly to the side of, but cannot find any near here. Might have to end up with the dodgy plastic ones.
Cally, can you make your own paper bags? We got home made goody bags from a party a few months back.
MD, I hope you got that essay done. I have just opted not to do my final one for my paper - there are 4 assessments and the best 3 count towards the final grade but I have decided that the 3 I have done will have do the job because September just isn't a good month for me to write an essay (and a relatively boring one at that).
We are going to hometown next weekend for a family party. I think I will just buy a cake. Too much trouble to make one when away from home. Looks like my plans may go to shyte though, IL's were supposed to be coming up but now they may not because BIL is having trouble again. Sucks to be him and I do really pity him, but it is really frustrating!! Feel bad for the IL's who have to miss out on time with their grandkids because they have to stay at home and watch him mope around. Sigh.
Then the following weekend we are having a small party here. W is inviting 5-6 friends and A only wants her two besties. Not sure if we will have them all at the same time or staggered, maybe littlies at 10 and bigs at 12. I should get my A into G and get some invites out!
