Cally: check out Etsy! they are super cool and cheap as chips for fun party supplies

Arte: yeah, i'd be doing the storebought cake thang too...wrangling the kids in the car and trying to balance a cake is way beyond me though

We have decided to start W at school next year. I think he will do far better socially starting with his friends. When I say 'we', I actually mean me. Was a huge fight that is probably another nail in the coffin of my crappy marriage. I wish we could at least make a mutual decision about the kids without it being a disaster. Only 17 years to go

G, he was supposed to start in a couple of weeks when he turns 5.

Now I think I have made a mistake, he was in a good mindset to go to school and now I have messed with him. Nothing is ever easy!

Oh Arte: I reckon you need to find some quiet time for yourself to regroup and be able to believe in your decision to start him next year again A big fight with DH over it, will undoubtedly throw doubt and crappiness into the decision.

i am so confused by that system. sounds so weird that they can start when they turn 5. why are all his friends starting next year?

G, they start when they are 5 and go into a New Entrants class, then as they reach a certain ability they are trickled into the Year 1 class. My issue was that putting W straight into a Year 1 class would be too hard of an adjustment for him. His friends are mostly Nov/Dec babies so they will all be starting next year.

Off to the beach this weekend. Looks like the ILs are coming after all so it should be fun.

Happy Birthday to all our gorgeous September bubs! Though hardly bubs anymore, I can't believe it's FIVE YEARS on?!! Haha feel vindicated though, in early posts I told y'all it would fly past. LOL

Speaking of which, I have been taking the occasional stroll down memory lane, reading a few old posts. What a spin out.

MD: oh man i am frightened at some of the drivel i have no doubt inflicted upon you guys over the years

Arte: happy birthday to Miss A for today!

and yeah, it feels strange now that officially our 5 year olds are saying goodbye to the toddler years and entering the Big Kid years...

MD, I have looked back on old threads a time or two - the last pregnancy thread is a mind bender! Yip, it sure did whizz by

Amelia got a talking hamster toy, barbie car, doll highchair (Erin is getting the doll cot next week), dora dvd, schleich animals and a wooden food set (velcro bits that you can cut).

Cass, the water at the beach is still freezing but it is fine for playing in the sand or running in the shallows.

Wishing a Happy Birthday to MD and Marta!!

Isn't it funny how you never realise something exists, then as soon as you find out about it you see it everywhere. DH brought back a Moomin dvd for the kids and now I see MD's cover pic is of Moomin's.

Cass, hope that you are finding some comfort in your whale stage of pregnancy You are gonna have a teeny tiny baby soon!!
I have been thinking of pregnancy with nice nostalgia - the big belly with bub moving around inside, how special it is to grow a tiny new person. Then I lifted some timber while making a new sandpit and hurt my sacral joint where I had heaps of problems when preg with E - now the rose coloured glasses are off and I am remembering I didn't waddle slowly because I was simply big, it was because every step hurt!! Crazy how easy it is to forget the bad parts!
