Eivie- hang In there Hun. I'm glad you have the support of having him monitored while you work it out, it will give you some peace of mind and have a good cry when and as you need it. I have realised it's easier just to let it out xx and we are all here for you =)

Tegam- looking at your own baby is the best advice! I was told to feed more often (3 hourly) and all that had led to is a baby who is throwing up half her bottle for at least half the time. She was gaining, just not to their standards and now we have a baby we are force feeding when she isn't demanding and I feel awful..

On that note, yesterday it was like maybe I will let her demand today.. She demanded every 3 hours, two hourly by the afternoon!! Someone had a growth spurt! Here I was thinking she would demand 4 hourly like normal lol...

Williever- glad to hear the infection is clearing.. I hear you on the pain killers! I hate taking any type of medication and I can't tell you how many pills I was made to take when being induced for different things.

Kellbell- I'm so happy to hear you are finally able to enjoy your family at home xx

Cattie- did you get my email for the fb group? Let me know if u have issues and I need to change my settings so u can add me xx

Cattie, I tried to pm you about fb but it says your pm storage is full.

Hi again everyone. My poor baby has just not had the best start in life after spending 5 days in hospital with the meningitis, he now has a cold & oral thrush. I swear this kids immune system is going to be one of the strongest! Lol

Oh poor bubby I'm assuming the thrush is caused by antibiotics when he had the meningitis? Lachlan has it from the antibiotics during our c-section. Are you treating it with daktarin? It might be reassuring to know after a couple of days Lachlan loves sucking the gel off my finger and spends the next 5 mins poking his tongue in and out, spreading it around his mouth, so stinking cute!! I hope your little man feels better soon.

Kalina and lady-bug how are your bubby's colds? I hope they're getting better. Our whole family have a cold and now ds sounds like he has a bit of a blocked nose too sigh.

Had mchn appt today, ds weighing 4.29kg! She suggested I could use a dummy instead of bf so frequently as he may just be comfort sucking rather than hungry. During the day he feeds every 1.5-2.5hrs! Today he barely slept at all, I'm exhausted!

The dummy could definitely make a difference. Lachlan often just needs to suck anything, daddy's nose will do, 1 min later he's fast asleep!

Re: Babies Born ~ September 2014

I had the home visit today and bub is all good. I just feel so sad. I still am getting about 40 mls a day of breast milk. Yes it's something but is it worth spending less time with my DS because I'm pumping away?!!! Bub still spends time at the breast getting nothing. I'm so upset that I can't feed her.
I need to get over it. And really I did not think I would get this upset again. Emotional day!

Have you thought about motilium? I'm pumping double after 3 days - still only 20ml at a time but my doctor said it would be a week before it kicks in so I have hope. Mind you, I don't have any other children so I'm able to make this my priority for a while.

Williever, it is upsetting not being able to provide enough milk for your child. I completely understand what you are going through. I've come to a place where I accept that he will probably need formula regardless of what I do, the bonus is he sleeps longer at night and I'm not the only one who can feed him. We have a routine now, I pump while he's on the other breast, switch sides then give him the bottle. He still loves the boob and it settles him when he's upset so I am still his comfort person. Kind of best of both worlds in a way and I only do a separate pump if I feel like it.

Re: Babies Born ~ September 2014

Williever. My advice. Remove the emotional you from the equation. She is of no help to anyone xx
Now picture yourself 12 months ago. take a deep breath and give yourself some advice. What would you have said? What would have been most important to you? What would you have suggested as a solution?

Sometimes it's 'breast feeding is do important to me I will fight for it'
And sometimes it's 'FFS stop the sadness, breast feeding just isn't that important to me'

But see only you know what is important to you. No one can give you the right answer. And either answer is the right one because it's what's most important to you!!
But being emotional now and making a decision now when you are all mixed up means you could give up breast feeding and regret it later or on the other hand you could make yourself persist and prolong the agony for no good reason.

I think it would always be wise to write ourselves a letter about things like this as soon as we fall pregnant.

I hope this helps hun and the last bit of advice is 'you'll be judged either way, there is no escaping judgemental twats. But the people that are your true friends will only want you to be happy xx
