Ali - so proud of you and we are all here if need us
Kylz - forgot to mention that prescriptions are included in that medical rebate so keep ur receipt
Hi everyone else
Afm - omg jack just went 5hrs between feeds he never has done that, normally it's the first stint that's the longest and I thought I was in for a bumpy night as he only went 7:15-10:15 where it's normally 4hrs. But omg the wind that's coming out of his bottom!!

Iona - yay for a longer sleep. You can never tell how the night is going to pan out.
Sarah - I can't hand express never have been able to. The electric pump I use doesn't hurt very much you can alter the strength of the suction for comfort.
Oh no, blocked ducts again on both sides...grrr. It happens at least once every 2 weeks. It usually gets worse before it gets better
Mskara-glad you are feeling better.
Kitty-my 3 boys were the same they loved their nappy off and would kick and goo for ages half their newborn photos are of them with no nappy on but miss Ella hates her nappy off she loves her pants off but has to have her minnie floss covered (i hope she stays that way) lol.
Iona-woohoo for longer sleeps Ella is up to 6 hours most of the time now except for the morning she has her bottle at 3am and is up at 7am for playtime.
I know that if babies are proven lactose intolerant you can get a doctor to right a scipt for formula to get it cheaper what about reflux formula as it is soooo expensive.
AFM-Had a good night ella slept from 3pm until 8:30 then went back to bed at 9:30 and slept until 3am so almost 6 hours without a peep.
Mel: How you going with all the kids? Everything settled now?
Ali: HUGE hugs to you. I really admire your strength. Great to hear you will be getting out and about, trust me it makes all the difference. xx
Jak: I posted in the cloth nappy forum as I never even realized there was one! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Wish I could of sent you the girls weekend away invite!
Ferrals: K got his shots yesterday, popped into the chemist and got the panadol the day before and they said to wait so I did. K had the worst red face and cried for a minute then put him straight on the bottle, he was fine. Good luck with whatever you do darlin, just make sure you have the bottle handy xx
Sammie: Hope your well and everything is going good.
Ella: How did you go at the doctors? xx
Kitty: Everytime K gets naked he is not happy. Wish I could give him nappy free time. Sounds like he is going really well.
Kylz: Booo to your dh. Seriously you are my hero, I cried through K's injections! When he gets his done dh will be taking him. No way could I do it. Btw how was Caboo?
Lisa: K still has one eye blocked.. It is off and on and drives me nuttah. Could not imagine two!
Sarah: You amaze me each time I read on here what you been up to. Your a busy girl but glad to see your enjoying it and also not listening to what that child health nurse said. : )
Iona:Yaa to Jack and his 5 hours! You never know this could be the beginning of something. xx
Hope: I am thinking of you. xx
I have been flat out working out determined to meet my first 10 kilo goal by the end of June. K is great. Have not been on here much and just trying to keep busy. Sorry if I missed anyone. I think of you girls often. xx
Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Quick me post.
Chloe has silent reflux :( feel so mean not picking up on it earlier. Have to wait til Friday to pick up the losec as it takes a couple of days for the chemist to get it in. Had to get,my stitches taken out. Ouch. Wtf no one told me that, they were getting infected cos they needed to be out, and was so sore and itchy. Felt like a d*ckhead. C is 4.7kgs now :)
diet and exercise starts tomorrow!
Oh Ellas mummy! Your not perfect!! Do not feel like a ****head! Sorry to hear about the silent reflux. : (
If you did decide to join ww seek out my blog. I felt like posting my weightloss on fb as it can really inspire but I think I will pick and choose who can see it as I am not sure I want everyone to see those pics!
xx
EM - don't feel mean bout the silent reflux, its quite common to not be diagnosed before 6 weeks anyway. And ouchies to your stitches that sounds really painful, I would have thought they would have been disolvable ones and didn't think they would need to come out - shows how much I know! LOL
Tams - I would love to see your weightloss journey, I really need to get started on mine, I'm hideous!! Btw, kids are ok, we have good days and bad days. Yesterday was a BAD day. The day before was a good day. Today - yet to be determined.. LOL
Ferrals - I can't believe she goes 6 hours between feeds during the day! None of my bubs have ever gone more than 4 hours between feeds, even when they started solids at 6 months. Is it because of the reflux formula do you think? I had Eden on it for a little while but it made her constipated and didn't help with the vomiting so I switched her back to a normal one. She was on lactose free for a while there too - took me ages to get one that made a difference.
I was going to write more, but I have a toddler whinging and crying at my knees and Sahti is asleep in the carrier (thank god for carriers otherwise she would NEVER sleep during the day) so I have to go. Especially now that said toddler is pulling stuff out of the toy cupboard...
Just a quick one as i am trying to get stuff done while ella sleeps.
Ella had her needles and screamed but settled as soon as i put the dummy in poor bubba.
And the doctor said because she reflux he gave us a script for neocate formula it is suppose to be peadiatrictians gold and if you have a HCC you get 8x400grm tins for $5.60 i took the script and relised he gave me the advanced formula for bubs over the age of 1 not the newborn one so i will ring him tomorrow i am not sure i want to change her formula again as the NAN AR and NAN HA seem to be working at the moment.
But it would be good for only $5.60 for 8 tins when i am paying $25 a tin now even though the tins are half the size 8 would be about the same as 4 normal tins.
Arimeh-Ella goes 6 hours most of the time but every now and then she will want a feed an hour earlier and it is not effecting her weight she weighs 5.2kg now that was clothed weight so she would still be about 5kg her HC is 38cm and her length is 54.5cm so my girl is a little shorty.
Ellasmummy-Sorry to hear your bub has silent reflux to it's not nice is it.
Tams- no diet and exercise for me yet i am off to have an u/s monday for retained products doc said noway should i be bleeding this heavy almost 7 weeks later.
Ella crying i will be back
well u can add another with reflex to the list. Gp told me to just get thickener and the script from the circ Dr gave me. Will see how that goes.
Tams - what is caboo?
Hi everyone be back when on pc.

What is going on this is turning into a reflux thread.
OMG can't believe so many of our bubs have reflux!!!
Tams where do I find your blog?
Ferrals that doesn't sound nice, but glad they're looking into it for you.
Mel, I know its not from here but my friend always used to tell me she felt sick when bfing st the start, and I thought she was a nut!!!
Wow I was thinkin the same thing ferrals! All these poor bubbas! H's symptoms seemed to go away when we changed formulas last week, so I've been monitoring but think he's ok. I'm glad Ella is ok after her shots :-)
H slept for 8hrs last night :-O he's been sleeping most of the day today. I'm beginning to think something is wrong! lol. He's still eating and temp is ok, so, I guess he's just catching up after the last few days. Also, I asked the MHCN to weigh him at mothers group this morning and he is now 7.2kgs with clothes on! Crazy. He's actually way off the chart now. She said I shouldn't be concerned, and we can just monitor it for a while.
Well i just researched Neocate at $50 (at our chemist) a tin it sounded like the perfect formula for reflux and at only $5.60 for 8 tins on a health care card i thought you beauty BUT! i read some pretty horried stories of how bad it smells and tastes and babies refusing it and one lady said it was like giving her baby redbull so NO THANKYOU i will stick to NAN AR and NAN HA i mix 50/50 and Ella is 100% better no fussing or crying and no arching her back and neck and no constipation but i will say her farts STINK to high heaven i keep thinking she has pooped her duds but no just stinky farts.
Ellasmummy-I know i am so over the bleeding it is just constant and heavy has been for 3 weeks straight now so in 7 weeks i had 5 days of almost nothing and then the rest of the time its been full on
ferrals: LOL hopefully not a reflux thread. Chase doesn't have reflux :) That I know of. He barely vomits, only cried once today and that was because I was taking too long to get him the boobie. He just has an outrageous amount of gas that he is exhaling out of his behind like its a race though LOL
Ali: thats great weight gain for H. I think C is only 6kg, gettting him weighed tomorrow for the first time since 8 weeks. C had a huge sleepy day today which is weird cos yesterday he was so unsettled. I'm thinking growth spurt, yay!!
EM: what the heck? they didn't use disolvable stitches?? even worse they didn't tell you they weren't disolvable??? weird. you'd think that would be kind of important. And poor little Chloe as well, although at least now you can do something for her :)
tams: wooo ur an inspiration for starting your weight loss journey already. every time i think about working out the old excuse 'my scar still hurts' lets me off the hook hehehe
Kylz: poor J at least you know now and can help him :)
Well DH just came home and put C to sleep so im about to watch Glee and enjoy myself all on my own :) though our baby monitor is broken and its ****ing me off grrr
I'm still wondering I W has reflux too! Dr's next week so we shall see...
He has had a shocking day... Fussing, whinging, fighting the boob, stiff as a board, screaming, spitting his dummy out, puking everywhere!
Wouldnt even go down for his nap :(
Waaahhh. He had just nodded off now but only cause I'm laying next to him with glee CDs playing.
Just a quickie from me ;)
Had a horrible day yesterday. E slept for a total of maybe an hour and a half. I was ready to put her up for adoption! I just wanted someone to come over and hold her. We piked and all went to bed early (7:30!). I heard her grizzle and fuss for about 5 mins, then nothing until 3:30! She fed for an hour (on and off), put her back to bed then DS can't find Pop (his granddad) - coz obviously he's at home in his own bed - and DS crawls in with us.
Today is a better day. Got some photos taken for a newborn package with Little Images. I'll pm you shortly Louise with the details. E was still off all day. Hates being put down, or being asleep. But I'm not as stressed today, which is a good thing. My house can just stay a bombsite until Friday.
Enrolled DS in swimming lessons - the YMCA had 50% off this term! woo hoo! And tomorrow, I'm actually going to join a gym! Scary! I was going to, then I decided not to because creche is extra on top of the gym membership price, but there's a coupon ad thing in the paper for 6 months free creche with every new membership in May. How can I say no now!? lol
Get my results tomorrow of my ecg and blood tests.
Tam - what's your blog. I have one (three actually) that I have fantastic intentions of keeping updated, but find I have no time! I will get back into it!
How much brown sugar to water???
ok, im doing it. im going to go the doc sat for the 6 week check, and possibly my first ever pap, now were is the icon for shiarting myself???
mainly it is to sort out contraception, (:redface:is it normal for condoms to feel like they burn and sting?) but i know the other is going to come up....:hide:
be back tomoprow to post more, just had to tell somone that its done and im freaking out!!
Yay Sarah! I found internals during labour way worse than a pap. Don't stress :) let us know how you go!
Sarah - yes internals during labour were worse for me too
Scone - glad you had a better day. I've just gone back to the gym but havent used creche yet...first time mum separation anxiety !!
Jaki - definitely raise reflux if it doesnt settle. Ds had these symptoms and has just been diagnosed.
Kitty - yay for sometime to enjoy a tv program
Ferrals - my DS is a stinky farter and most people hand him back saying he needs a change...he never does
EM - I really would have thought your stitches were either disolvable or you would have gone home with clear instructions about getting them removed...don't blame yourself!
LMP - fantastic work with the weight loss. I don't have heaps to loose but I'm struggling despite going to the gym. Too many easter eggs haven't helped!!
Well had the paediatrician appointment yesterday, he was a bit old fashioned. He went on and on about breast / bottle nipple confusion which is what he thought my DS had. I had to keep bringing it back to weight loss, not being able to drink his usual quantities, discomfort at feeding and vomits. Although, I don't doubt that there is nipple confusion but felt this was a separate issue. It wasn't until I thought DS need a bit of a feed that I gave him some bottle and he refused the bottle and the paediatrician saw his reaction that he then immediately said reflux. We have gaviscon and zantac. I gave him some gaviscon yesterday afternoon and DS had a complete feed, went to sleep for 1.5 hours and then woke for another feed which was also a full volume! Overnight we have had one almost complete feed and another complete. Not getting my hopes too high yet as it might be a coincidence. He spat pretty much all of the zantac out. I will post in the reflux thread for some tips on administering it.
does panadol cause green poo?
No idea kylz.
Lisa sounds like you've got a positive result from the gav. Are you able to put the zan it a bit of sugar water?
Had the worst day on earth yesterday. Well mostly bad in the arvo and evening. I still feel so out of sorts from it even tho we had a great night. I want to kill my husband. He really is a twat.
Sarah-the comdoms might sting because of the lube on them or you are reacting to the latex i hate useing them so we use the withdrawal method (when i stop bleeding) and as for the pap smear dont be scared if you have had kids then a pap is nothing other the uncomfortable embarrassment but try to get a female doctor it is so much better and please please make sure you get it done i think i said a few threads ago my friend from work didnt have a pap for 8 years and now is fighting cervical cancer when it could have been treated very early think of your kids when you go in there and just get it done it will be over with in no time and you will say to yourself that wasnt so bad.
Sconeonamission-Hope your results are all good.
Lisa- I mix ella's zantac with a touch of marinas infant mixture just before i give it to her and she takes it all because the infant mixture is peppermint flavour to but sweet so it tones down the bitterness of the zantac.
I also did the sugar water and that worked also just add a smidge of sugar to a smidge of boiled water (hot to disolve it) and mix in the zantac and bobs your uncle.
Jaki- about your hubby and sorry to here you had a bad day with wyatt i can handle the days if bubs are cranky its the nights that are the killer.
As for miss Ella and her needles well what a night woohoo! she slept from 4pm until 9:30 then went back to sleep until 4am with not a peep out of her until 6:30 when she got a little grizzly so got her up gave her panadole and she has been fine since.
THANK GOD! i was expecting a shocker of a night.
Has anyone had a D&C after having a baby for retained products i am hopeing to avoid it but as blood is still pouring out of me every time i go to the toilet i dont like my chances of avoiding it and after my horrible experience after my c section i really dont want anyone fooling around inside my uterus.
Hope your results are all good Scone.
Ferrals that is worrying you are still bleeding do much :( when is your US?
Jak sorry to hear about your crap day, what's DH done? x
Kylz no idea about the panadol, but c randomly had green poo the other day, thought it must have been something I ate...
Lisa great news about the feeding!
Hi everyone else :)
AFM - you wouldn't believe it C slept from 9pm til 6.15am, and only because I accidently woke her up when I jumped out of bed and ran in to check on her when I woke up and saw the time. Thought something happened to her!! Mind you she didn't sleep all day, but hey can't win then all hehe. Poor bub is in so much pain after her feeds, and if laying flat or in the car. Can't wait for these meds, even though I've been told they're anywhere between $45-60 per month
Ellasmummy-My u/s is 10am monday morning but i wont get the results until tuesday unless the u/s tech is nice enough to tell me what she see's.
ferrals: hope they can get to the source of the bleeding without the D&C. Just the word scares me. Good on Ella for having a great sleep even after needles. I hven't ever given Chase panadol, I should probably get ome for just in case now that I think about it.
EM: wooo now that is an excellent sleep from miss C. Chase has completely backtracked to waking up at 3am again. Hoping he goes back to sleeping till 6am once this week is over and the growth spurt he should be going through is done.
jaki: I'm with you on the DH's being twats. My DH has this annoying 20 year old friend who is having his 21st birthday this weekend and he rented an apartment down the coast. DH thinks he is going to stay down there friday and saturday night and go clubbing. I don't think so buddy. Told him he could go Friday night but should be home Saturday evening. The most annoying thing is that he is taking $150 just to waste on drinks and clubbing when I don't buy Chase the things I want to, nor do I have any clothes that aren't maternity. Selfish *****.
sarah: condoms burn and sting with me too, i don't think they ever used to but lately very stingy.
lisab: thats great news that the gaviscon is working :)
ali: same here [ap smears are a walk in the park compared to internals LOL
my cycles are all bloody messed up and now im annoyed. Got AF, I can handle that, but this last cycle only went for 18 days then I got AF again. Well im assuming it was AF but it only lasted 3-4days so now I'm confused. Was the 3-4 days really AF or was it just some random bleed and im still on the 1st cycle? Gah, was really hoping after the baby they would finally be normal.
I had morning tea with my friend who was sick at her wedding the one I went to a couple of weekends ago and she said looking back she thinks that what she was having on her wedding day was a miscarriage :( She was due for her period that day though, but the painful cramping and excessive bleeding wasn't normal, nor was the clots that she passed in the couple of days. Makes me sad even to think that she might of had a miscarriage, they really want a 2nd baby so badly.
jaki holy sheet $700???? LOL lucky DH has no access to that much money lol. So annoying, you know by the end of this week he will only have spent 3 days out of 7 having quality time with me and Chase?? I'm so disappointed in him. Of course when i tell him that im just a biatch *sarcasm* wish someone would tell him he is being a tosser, he doesn't believe me when I tell him.
Strippers and booze. Like a kid in a fricken candy store! He had a childhood kidney disease and shouldn't drink so he couldn't walk or function properly for days, totally ruined our holiday. Altho as pay back I went to robina the next day alone and spent $700 :D
Ferrals - I hope the u/s can identify something simple to stop the bleeding and I hope you don't have to wait to long for the results, there's nothing worse.
Kitty - terrible news about your friend. I don't blame you for wanting to give your DH a kick up the pants. Every time my DP mentions the vague possibility of going away for work I give an unpleasant sideways glance...and that's for work and not spending extra cash.
Administering the zantac is not giving us much joy at the moment. Was totally frustrated last night as I'm sure he didn't swallow a drop of it. Will try Ferrals method later today. Feeling pretty tired but think I will drag my tired backside to the gym at 6am before DP goes to work. I can't sleep during the day and DS usually only catnaps anyway so I would only get 30 mins here and there if I did.
Your not going to believe it after seeing the doctor and making the u/s appointment my bleeding stopped in it's tracks last night  which is great but now i feel stupid for mentioning it to the doctor.I wont cancel my u/s appointment just incase it starts up again friggen stupid body what are you doing.
Ella was a bit unsettled last night with belly pain and runny poo's i am asumeing it is from the needles the book said bubs can be grizzly and have runny poop for a few days from the rota virus needle so i just laid her on her belly on her heat pack and she slept til 3am i was a little worried being on her belly and with a heat pack i kept checking her to make sure she wasnt overheated so i didnt get much sleep even though i have the angel care breathing monitor i still worried with her on her tummy.
Lisa-DH dropped our bottle of marina's infant formula that i use to mix with the zantac so ella got her dose with the sugar water and she took it no worries so i hope it at least helps get some of it in your little man.
Ferrals - don't you love how our bodies work!! I would keep the appointment to if it was me. You're a STAR the sugar water trick worked, thanks so much. We got most of the liquid down and he actually enjoyed the first syringe full and got cranky with the last syringe. Maybe the zantac sank to the bottom so I will give it a bit more of stir next time.
Jayden loves his too. BUT DONT PUT IT IN THE STERILISER lol
I melted mine and had to buy another one.
Lisa-its good isnt it the sugar just takes away the bitterness of the zantac glad it helped.
AFM-Friggen bleeding started again:shakehead:
Hey all, been trying to post since wednesday night but everytime I finally got through reading everything one of the kids needed me or hubby wanted the laptop grrr
SJ - I had fun on Tuesday, sorry I wasn't very talkative, I'm really quite shy the first few times I meet someone (unless I've had a few stiff drinks beforehand lol), DS loves MJ, just would not stop saying "Where's mo-wee? where's mo-wee?" for the rest of the day.
Ali - Everyone else has already said everything that I was going to say, so I just wanted to send you some uber huge hugs xxx
Someone asked what formula we are using, sorry but I forget who it was - we are using Heinz Nurture as it's currently the cheapest down our way at $15.50 a tin (much cheaper than it was when I had DS, back then it was $18.50-$20 a tin!).
Quick question about Infant's Friend - does anyone else notice that it leaves the skin red like it's burned it if some dribbles out the side of their mouth or if they chuck it up soon after having it?
We stopped giving it to Elise a little over a week ago because she always starts screaming not long after she has it, then chucks up, and any that dribbles out of her mouth or gets onto her cheeks and neck leaves bright red marks on her skin like she's been burnt.
afm - Silly me forgot to pack in the pump and bottles of EBM on tuesday, so I had to go for almost 9 hours without expressing d'oh! OMG My BB's were so sore! And now my supply has dropped by half :( Oh well, I've already done better this time than I did with DS, by this stage with DS I was just starting to recover from the mastitis and my supply had dropped to 50mls a day and by 6wks I was barely getting 5mls a day, so my goal is to get to 6wks 1d with this expressing thing and then just let things happen as they will. Still haven't made the lactation cookies - couldn't get the Brewers yeast last week as it was all sold out, and I can't find the flaxseed meal anywhere at the moment, will have to check out the health food store on wednesdy when I'm at the shopping center.
Sick of this bleeding, or rather I should say spotting, Monday and tuesday it finally stopped, then wednesday morning I woke up with spotting which stopped by lunch time, yesterday morning it started again and stopped by lunch time once more, and now it's started again tonight. Not enough to leave much on a pad, but it's really annoying.
Finally booked in for my GTT test for wednesday, and the 6wk check up for me, as well as one for Elise, and remembered that I'm a month overdue for my pap as well, so will have to get that done as well... and now I've just remembered that Elise will be due for her 6wk immunisations on wednesday and I forgot to book them in to, so I'll have to call up tomorrow and book her in for that too... sheesh wednesday is going to be a busy day for me with Elise getting weighed and measured at 9:30am, my GTT at 9:45am, Check ups at 10am, and the GTT doesn't finish until 12:15... I think I'm going to pig out on chocolate afterwards since I don't get to eat until it's finshed lol
Oh and Elise got weighed and measured on wednesday and has put on 210g and grown 2cm in one week :) She still just fits into 0000's too, she's so small and dainty lol
Got the biggest smiles from her this afternoon too, not the sleepy I'm-Half-Asleep ones I usually get, but really big wide-awake grins and lots of them too, so beautiful! Makes up for the way it's been here for the last few days.
I think Elise might have reflux, DS had it mildly for the first 6 months, but Elise is way worse than he ever was, lots of screaming from pain, waking up screaming, cycling the legs and drawing them up to her belly, stiff or arching back, really watery chuck and oh my god there is so much of it! We've been through 3 jumpsuits already today from her chucking up so much, and she's feeding constantly because she's so hungry after chucking up half her feeds (I think 5+ chucks post-feed would equal half a feeds worth of milk), sometimes she even chucks up mid-feed or while she's asleep too and then chokes on it, my poor baby girl, so I'm going to mention it to the doctor on wednesday.
I suppose it's my turn now to admit I'm not coping too well right now, I don't think I have PD yet though looking back at how it was after having DS I think I may have had it back then as I didn't bond with him the way I'm bonding with Elise and I left him to play on his own so much just so that I didn't have to deal with him constantly and with the emergency c-sec I had with him that absolutely terrified me when they first mentioned it and then recovering from it afterwards and dealing with the feelings of failure at not being able to have a natural delivery or being able to BF, and hubby being away for work 5 nights a week and me having to do so much on my own with no one there to help me... I've never really looked at it that way before and it does explain all the nights I spent crying myself to sleep after having DS... I've been thinking a lot about it since tuesday, but I don't want to believe it and I hope I don't get it now, but I have to admit I've gone back to my old way of coping with high levels of stress by smoking. I feel really guilty about it, and I know it's an excuse but it's the only way I can cope with things at the moment, the only ME time I get during the day and I can't continue staying up until 1-2am in the morning just so that I can do something for myself alone tht doesn't involve the kids.
Well now I've gotten that off my chest, I'm going to go and have an alcoholic drink of some sort in lieu of a smoke, at least it's the lesser of 2 evils :(
Jenna I don't find it burns W but it does leave powdery White stuff everywhere. Why don't you try switching and try infacol, gripe water or mariners.
Don't know what to say re the smoking, I'm having my first night out tonight and I'm a little worried I'll be tempted. I'm not drinking tho so should be fine.
I have a couple of friends hinting around about pnd but to be honest I think I'm fine, I have bad days but jeezo it's freekin hard work being a mother! And you can't tell me that any woman could listen to her baby scream for hours and not get upset?!?! And the next day when I spent the day in bed he was in my arms the whole time... It's not like i put him somewhere else and spent the time alone!
