Today is anOther one of those "you must hold me so I can sleeP" days...

That hat I bought at DFO, damn fairies have nicked off with it! Can't find it anywhere!

Have no internet on my computer. Rang tech support and they were useless. Dh reckons the wireless receiver on the laptop is gone, coz he gets Internet on his computer wirelessly as well as both mobiles... It seems to work plugged into a cable though it's ok I spose, dont really sit anywhere other than the table with it, coz it's got a battery life of about 20mins. I want a new one but can't afford it.

Sorry ladies, I won't be at the meet up. J will be at daycare, and I can't go to a playcentre without him! Definately another time though!

I'll be back in later, hopefully!

well that was an interesting appt - jack has compressed points on his head - obviously from birth. he also has trauma around his diaphragm and osophageous (spell?) which is also causing the reflux also the antibiotics that he had at birth could be contributing to it and i have to cut out cow's milk. i also need to give him some probiotic due to the antibiotics. we have a follow up appt next wed. she also said with him being away from me for so long after birth that this maybe causing him wanting that closeness as well - i don't mind i like snuggling up to my lil jack

hope - my dr said to try the infant gaviscon if i felt the zantac wasn't working and yay hopefully we get to meet at the next dfo meet

JJ - jack's isn't the cottage cheese looking spew, it's still the watery stuff

Jaki - i googled silent reflux and ticked off the symptoms that I found that Jack was doing that was basically what made me think he had it

The paediatrician put R on Omeprazole Capsules (Probitor) 20mg. They are little yellow capsules that I have to break open. THey have little white bead looking things in it. I have to roughly give R quarter of the beads twice a day before feeds on a spoon with milk or water.

    Sorry to hear that Iona
Can I ask.... What exactly is it? What are the symptoms?
We are having another fussy day, I'm starting to think there is something wrong with him. He is so stiff and his tummy is rock hard, he is being so rough on my boobs and seems really frustrated

Iona-sorry to hear that but at least you have an answer.

I was told silent reflux and colic have similar symptoms when they start to drink they arch their back and scream suck for a bit more and do the same they pull their legs up and throw their head back and when they burp and bring up milk it comes up with digestive juices from the belly and burns ther esophogus they are hard to feed and settle.
I was thinking Ella might have had it but she has settled down a lot with the change in formula still not 100% but a lot better.

    Hi all

Iona: R has reflux too. Dr gave him meds but they arent really working just yet. His improved a little but not enough, lol. It's horrible isn't it!

Arimeh's: What homeopathics did you use if you don't mind me asking. Silly question - how did chiro help?

Kylz: think i might wait and go to you next DFO meet up. June is good for me i think. Will it be the start or end of june?

New thread and the other one got locked while I was writing a reply grrr

Kylz - his been prescribed Zantac so will see how he goes on that as was also told there is an infant's gaviscon that I can try

AE - we have an osteo appt this arvo which was for the shoulder dystocia but will be able to mention the silent reflux as well

Jaki - the symptoms I picked up on is the painful screaming episodes he would have, the pulling up of his knees, his swallowing can sound chunky but I don't see any spew but he has been spitting up some thick saliva

Hi to everyone else, on fone so can't remember anything else

Hi everyone, finally remembered to get on and catch up again lol

Iona - Elise does the same things, she's ok with her formula feeds, but with the EBM she gets really fussy and chucks up after every feed - most EBM feeds it's the thick saliva mixed with milk that comes back up, between feeds it's the chunky cottage cheese-looking stuff.

Whoever mentioned poo - Elise has green runny poo, and she's combined EBM & FF (heinz nurture), DS's was mostly mustard coloured on the same formula, so might be the EBM doing it to her, but then again each child is different so maybe her body isn't processing the iron as well as DS was.

afm - Still can't get Elise to latch on for ore thn a minute without screaming, started trying with the sheild again, and hasn't helped

Elise got weighed again today as well, she's put on another 105g in a week, and is now 4.04kg, took a bit lol I think DS was already 5.5kg at 4wks, but can't really remember

Had to buy a new bra today - my E & F cup ones are huge on me now, and the D cup one I tried on last night was a bit small, so bought a 2 pack of DD's today, and what do you know, they're too big too! I can't win in the bra department lol D's are too small, DD's are too big and there isn't anything in between lol
Just a little bit annoying as I've gone from being an F cup 5 weeks ago to right between a D and a DD cup.

My supply is starting to drop again too, tried everything except the lactation cookies and medication to get it back up now, but nothing is working. Got most of the ingredients for the lactation cookies today, just need to get the brewers yeast and flaxseed meal tomorrow so that I can make them.
Means that Elise has to have 3 bottles of formula a day now instead of just 2.

And if any of you melborne ladies are interested, I'll be heading up tp Lara on either sunday or monday to visit the inlaws and we'll be taking DS to the Aquarium on one of the days we're up there, so if anyone wants to meet up at the Aquarium let me know

Forgotten what else I was going to say now

Hope everyone is doing well and managing to get a bit of sleep!

Jaki, I guessed it and then the dr confirmed it. Also jack could be fast asleep on me and then I go put him down and he would be awake within 5-15 mins and the legs r pumping etc
