Snacks- Apparently ur cervix can change position after u have a VB. I could never find my cervix either. Sorry if this is TMI, but out of curiosity last night, I out my finger up there to see if it felt different, and it was tight as. After u had Phoebe, did they give u Voltaren or any other anti inflammatory to take? If they didnt, it may be some swelling that u are still feeling. I know what u mean about ppl poking around ur nethers. I have a gyno app next month, and Im so not looking forward to it.
BG- Re the bleeding, from memory mine stopped a few weeks after the c/s. I also passed a clot at one stage, but the nurses werent too worried about it. If u pass another clot, or get any pain or the bleeding gets heavier, then I would be off to the Doctors just to make sure everything is ok. Did they tell u if ur placenta and sac was intact? Mine was written as 'ragged and incomplete' so I had to wait to pass the left behind bit. Sorry if TMI.

Hi gorgeous mumma's! I'm so sorry I haven't done any personals... I did a big mother post yesterday, but my dam laptop battery ran out and I lost my post. I really didn't feel like typing it again!
I just wanted to say to Amy quickly because I have some sewing I really want to get into and finish... I had that swallon/sore feeling for ages after I had Ro too. It was worse if I had been on my feet a bit like doing doing dishes, vacuuming, shopping etc. turned out I had an infection. This time I've had none of that - but I had anti b's a few days after delivery because of my placenta. I didn't even feel like I had a baby this time - I could get up and walk around straight away and wasn't even sore or uncomfortable down there unlike last time. But don't worry if you can feel your cervix - they say it takes a good 6 weeks for things go back to normal, that's why they don't do our checkup till then.
Has anyone been brave enough to DTD again yet? I wasn't scared at all this time (like I said, down there didn't even feel any different even right after delivery this time). Last time after I had Rochelle, I was pretty nervous - felt like a virgin all over again!
Ok, off to sew I go. Hope everyone is feeling wonderful! Xoxoxox
Catherine- Nope havent been game enough to DTD yet. Now that I have finished bleeding we might give it a go if Logan sleeps a bit longer. I had 3rd degree tearing so Im scared that I will split things open if we do DTD.
i want to be able to dtd - and even planned to "take advantage" of my man before he went back to work - but started bleeding again - i was soooo annoyed! i kinda thought to myself that, if we left it tooo long, it would become harder to start up again kwim? we did have some fun time together just nothing penetrative...
Bridg - the only comment in regards to my placenta was that it was intact and grainy - so nothing more to pass. i had some bleeding post birth that they were worried about but it slowed within a few hours to being "normal". i have always had bleeding issues with AF so i'm hoping it doesn't happen here - i didn't have a cycle as such - but when AF did visit, she'd hang around for up to six weeks (thankfully it was only a couple of times a year...)
having a shocker tonight - E is sleeping peacefully in the bouncer beside me and i'm feeling miserable. i think i'm missing DH really badly. i just want him home and we're still in limbo land not knowing when he'll be home again. it's silly to be all emotional about it, but i can't help it - think it's just the post-pg hormones settling down or something, but i've been in tears a couple of times over stupid things (like him leaving me only one egg and not telilng me - i was gonna have scramble for dinner!)
Catherine - we've DTD a couple of times... OUCH! Not so romantic when it hurts. Didn't hurt so much where the stitches were (which is what I was afraid of), but more inside which freaked me out a bit and we kinda lost the mood. Made me a bit reluctant to try again but I hear you have to gently persist!!
I'm still around - been buggering around FB instead of getting stuck into sewing... I'm so naughty!
Bridg, I probably would have been scared to try if I had tearing too... Although I've heard that it's a lot of worry over nothing.
BG - I hope the lochia stops for you soon and you can get your freak on again! hehe. I'm sorry your feeling a bit sad and lonely tonight. Maybe you could pamper yourself a little tonight, have a bath or a little bit of wine if that's your thing. When Dan isn't home, I usually pamper myself. It's the only thing that keeps me sane. I keep myself maintained with waxing, nails, hair, exfoliate my body or whatever... it makes me feel like I'm coping better and when I'm feeling good - I seem to have my house in great order and it takes my mind off of missing hubby. Glad Emerald is being a good little darling for you tonight.
Kat - sorry to hear it hurt a bit. Did you have internal tearing or anything? Perhaps your cervix is still a little tender?! Actually I vaguely remember that we needed to stick to more shallow penetration positions after Ro (Sorry if that's a bit TMI - lol), but this time it's been fine - but like I said I wasn't sore at all this time. I actually found I enjoyed sex even more after I had Rochelle. Sex was just different IMO.
BG: Thanks for that. Sorry you are on a downer tonight. I find night time much harder to deal with. Things seem heaps more positive in the light of day. Hope you get some good sleep tonight.
Bridg: No, no anti inflammatories. Last time they gave me one at the same time the stitches went in... They gave it to me up the date, LOL. Worked though. Hopefully it is just swelling.
Catherine: When did you find out about the infection? At your 6 week check, or did you go get checked out earlier?
We haven't DTD yet. I am still feeling weird there and I'm also completely buggered. Plus I'm not feeling very sexy atm - I hate how saggy my belly is, and the stretchies look nasty. I'll get over it, but I'm still a bit self-conscious.
Kat: Try, try again, LOL. I found dtd painful after last time. But after a couple of months things got HEAPS better - better than pre-baby.
Still waiting for my little party animal to crash. She is desperately tired but keeps jolting awake. I am not helping the situation because I keep coughing my barking cough.
Sore back from slouching while breastfeeding too. Ouch.
Hi everyone!
Catherine - No DTD here. Even though I didn't tear this time, I'm still not keen on the idea much. haha. It might also be because I don't want anymore babies and sex leads to babies. Hubs hasn't been keen o it either. We are both so worried I'll get pregnant! LOL
BG - bugger about your hubby being away so long. I don't know how you do it! I hope little E makes things nice and easy for you and hubby comes home soon.
Bleeding - I stopped at 4 weeks. I stopped after 10 days with DS, and AF came back when he was one month old (and I was NOT HAPPY JAN!). This time, I am hoping that AF stays away for at leasta few months, but I don't like my chances because DD doesn't feed as much as DS did.
We had our 6 week check up yesterday. Well... I did. Wasn't really much to the appt. Got weighed and am 6kgs lighter than I was before I got pregnant which I am thrilled about. Going to continuemy exercise classes and then get into netball asap and hopefully the other few tonne fall off. hehe.
All going pretty well. Allira only wakes once a night still... waiting for it to change. With ny luck it won't. Shes still feeding and getting very chubby, but geez can she be fussy at the boob. She will pull on and off a fair bit on the first side. I have a very fast let down and tend to spray the poor girl in the back of the throat, the same as I did with DS. She's reall good on the second side after her change though. Hopefully she'll ge used to it soon... I just keep putting her back on over and over and she eventually settles. If She's super cranky, I'll pick her up, burp her and put her back on. Hopefully she can get used to it soon, as she's well and trully regulated my supply.
Well, washing to do and DS to look after. He had an altercation with a table whilst we were out for dinner last night fo my dad's birthday. The table won and he now has a gash next to his eye. Poor little man.
blurgh - never shall i mention my well behaved little girl ever ever again! she turned into nightmare child overnight! i worked out the emotional stuff myself - had a headache brewing and it ended up near migraine level. i was in my jim jams and ready for bed early and miss muffet didn't want to play the game. i let her sleep while she's sleeping cos she's not a good kid when woken up (bit like me) - so we went to bed and she started. she was screaming like a banshee - every time i got her to settle, she'd wake again after 10 or 15 minutes. i don't know what it was but she didn't settle properly til about 6 this morning. my head still hurts, she's sleeping, and i'm wishing i could take heavy duty drugs and knock myself out but i can't. i have no back up.
i "think" i have an idea of what might have caused her to be unsettled. i had some leftovers from the freezer the night before last for dinner. i can't say for sure, but i think when we initially made it we had an unsettled night the next night too. hope that's all it was - this mummy needs sleep tonight!
BG- Sorry to hear u have been upset. All my teariness hit me at around 5 days.
Niadla- We arent having anymore babies either, and DH keeps asking me what will happen if I get pregnant again. I will be going back on the pill before we DTD.
AFM, Had a very crappy night last night. Logan just would not settle, and when I offered him his bottle, he would only drink 20mls at a time. I eventually got him settled at 3.15am, so I crashed in front of the heater on the floor fully dressed. Then he was awake again at 7.30am for a feed. So not much sleep here. Jake and Zac are fairly tired, so I might put a DVD on so they fall asleep, and have a sleep myself.
hey guys
pretty boring around here at the moment except J tried to roll over today when he was om his tummy time toy gave his mummy a bit of a fright almost fell off
hopefully we dont have anymore incidents like that
anyways hope everyone is getting awesome sleep sleep vibes for everyone xox
Bailey is better today, DH still home crook also, back to work tomorrow - its the sick house at the moment, hoping I stay healthy, have been fine so far (knocking on wood as I type this).
We DTD at about 5 weeks - it was ok, nothing earth shattering LOL, we'd tried to do it about a week before, and were getting things started when someone started crying for attention and ruined the party LOL. But between being sleep deprived, feeding every 3 hours, and trying to find a time where we both feel like it, its really quite non eventful currently LOL, never mind, I think being parents has brought us closer in other ways so we still share the same intimicy, its just getting the physical side up and running again - we've had a chat about it and are both happy with the way things are currently, I think we are both too tired to feel neglected hehehehe.
Jacinta - its amazing how much strength the develop so quickly - Bailey is holding his head up for really long periods now - when I had him on my should burping him yesterday he was too busy looking around with his new found neck strength
BG - sorry you had such a crappy night mate, that sucks. I made cauliflower soup the other day and it definately doesn't agree with Bailey - he has had lots of wind today. Stupid me, it should have been obvious to me that cauliflower would cause wind, I dont know why I made the soup now. I'll take it to my Mums tomorrow and they can eat it. Hope you are feeling better, definately pamper yourself re Catherines suggestion, if E settles for long enough, treat yourself to a relaxing bath!
Niadla - Sorry to hear about poor Lachies head - ouch!! Great work re the weight! BF is definately fantastic for weight loss, I am eating like a pig and still losing weight - crazy - but I am loving it
Catherine - What are you sewing? Hope your little muffin is settled - good old wonder weeks. I know what you mean re missing being pregnant - I miss my belly, I was so proud of my bump, and loved being pregnant!
Bella - awesome re the smiles - how precious!! No steriods for Bailey, I think its a reasonably mild case, he seems much better today - still not himself, but on the way
Brid - hope you get some quality sleep tonight hon, and Logan settles well. We are hoping to have another bub in a few years, but who knows with our fertility issues. As I told you a few posts back all your boys names are on our list, probably with Logan being the favourite, so we may well have Bailey and Logan!! A clairvoyant friend of DHs told us about 3 years ago that we would go through a tough time and come out stronger, and have two sons! We figure our IVF journey was our tough time, and have one son, so I would not be surprised if we have a second son should we be lucky enough to become pregnant again
Kat - Hope Ivy is all ok after her Vac's
Amy - glad to hear Phoebe is giving you a break, what a good girl. Interesting re DTD getting better, I just told DH and he gave me a grin
Bailey seems to have worked out night and day, even despite his sickness, he goes straight back to sleep after a night feed (with hardly any settling from me), and stays awake a good hour or more after a day feed, this is fantastic as this week have had some quality unbroken sleep, we have only had one bad night this week and that was when he was at his sickest. The bath routine at night seems to be helping, I have been using the GAIA products and the lavender in them definately has a relaxing calming effect. The Paed told me to keep him out with me during the day, every during sleeps, or if he sleeps in his room not to darken the room so he sleeps lighter and saves his heavy sleep for night - this seems to be working a treat, I hope its not just a short lived thing
For those Breast Feeding - whats the go if you want to have a drink (alcohol). I have a wedding coming up, and my birthday in a few weeks, and want to have a few drinks, but not sure how long after I drink should I express and discard the milk for ? I might post the question in the BF forum, but any advice you have would be helpful
Bailey is wearing a 'I Mum' top today - hahahaha too cute!!
Might go sort out some dinner preparation before the next feed for the little guy
Hi to all the other Mums - Krystie hope you are having a blast with your sis
Catherine- What you sewing? I got an overlocker for my b'day and am thinking that I will go to spotlight and have a look at some little girl dresses to make up for Jemima. As for DTD, this may seem crazy to the rest of you as you all seem to have waited, but because of the c/s I'm not tender down there(sorry TMI) and so we were gentle the other day and it was nice. Dh was careful to not hurt my scar, but I am healing amazingly quickly according to the MW, so I havbe very little pain now. And I get the missing the pregnancy thing, although I really didn't think that I would feel this way so soon, considering how long my preg lasted and how uncomfortable I was at the end..... just forgetting it all now
BG- Sorry to hear your feeling sad! Hope you get some good sleep tonight and Emerald is feeling like sleeping.
Snacks- Thanks for the support. I think DH and I have come heaps closer and learnt lots about each other thru this. We r already best friends but it taught us about each other in circumstances that we had never encountered before. Sorry your back feels sore. DH bought me a "breast friend" BFing support pillow and it is helping me to keep my posture good, maybe you could try one?
Niadla-Poor DS with his sore eye But great to hear about your weight loss!! I have really fast let down too... sometimes the little darling just can't keep up. My sister suggested to lay on my back whilst feeding to help that... I haven't done that much cos it is too inconvienient, but it may be helpful, I don't know...
Bridg- Sorry to hear you have had bad sleep Hope that improves soon!
Naomi- great to hear that you have had good weight loss. I am watching the scales go down to, but at the moment I think it is all fluid shift. However I have my ankles back!!! Yay so that is something to be grateful for!!! and I am hoping that it continues and I loose the baby weight! As for the alcohol, as I understand it breast milk is like your blood, so things constantly go in and back out of it. So if you have a glass of alcohol, the alcohol is in your breast milk for as long as it is in your blood. It means there is no point in expressing the milk off cos the milk that comes in after it will have alcohol in it if you still are under the influence. And if your not under the influence the alcohol will be out of your milk. That's what the ladies said at a BF seminar I went to run by the ABA. you may need to express for comfort if you have to go a long period without using that milk cos it has alcohol in it. Hope that helps. PS I have an occasional glass of wine and feed DD at the same time cos it doesn't have a chance to go across for a good 1/2 hr or whatever.
ah what a day i wont bore you with it. Andy is being a good boy expect for last night had a stuffy nose so the fess spray is helping him plus he had bad tummy pains poor kid. As for down there im still bleeding but i think its my period this time but i dunno lol. i wish id stop bleeding its annoying me and i wanna feel normal again lol.
i hear you on the bleeding BM - it's starting to give me the s***s sooo badly!
good day for us today. not a great night sleep, but we got through. MCHN appt this morning, E has grown longer by 3cm, head circ 1.5cm bigger - and she has gained just short of 500g in a fortnight! woot! gives me so much more confidence with the BF side of things. i knew she'd chubbied up a little cos her "pretty" nappies were fitting better, but it's nice to hear how much - she's gaining more than they expect a BF bubba to gain - she's now over 4.1kg...
maybe i've picked up the bleeding that has stopped for you BM - it seems to have started to get heavier again this morning... go figure...
on a more positive note (cos i'm not going to dwell on negatives today!) - i had clothes pre-pg that were a little on the too firm side so they were hanging in the wardrobe barely being worn. i had my fave jeans that i lived in (three pair) that were comfy and baggy (and i wore them right through pregnancy - just sat them under my bump!) - anyway, yesterday both pairs of jeans were in the wash after being covered in baby puke, so i went looking in my wardrobe for clothes to wear. was sick of elastic waisted blah stuff, so i grabbed a pair of the "didn't fit" jeans and decided i'd give them a go. weighed myself before my shower and realised i'd lost over 19kg since pre pg (yes, i'm still overweight!) so figured jeans should fit. well they do - but only just - they're almost too big - i spent all day hitching them up! no wonder the other ones are falling down - i've lost at least one size maybe 2 around my waist and hips! boobs are heaps bigger, but the rest of me is slowly melting away! yay me!
