Bridg: WB, mate. Sorry you are doing it tough atm. Hoping your boys settle down for you soon.
BG: Sucks about the nightmares! I hate them. Fortunately I don't experience them often. Do you get them if you're too hot? I've heard that can be a cause - the brain's way of waking you up so you will cool yourself off.
Jess: Keep the 22nd Nov free!!! It'd be awesome to meet you and your boys.
Naomi: Obviously I don't have a long-sleeping baby, LOL! But with Natty it got to the point when she was around 5-6 mo where I'd take notes during the day trying to find a pattern to see why she'd sleep a long time some nights and wake frequently others. When she was really little she'd sleep through, then from around 4 months she started becoming more wakeful. I've got to tell you, it made no difference what I did with her through the day. But that was our experience. I also found that formula made NO difference whatsoever. I tried it when she was 6mo, and it was incredibly frustrating trying to get her to take a bottle for a start, then she didn't even sleep longer for all my trouble.
You might find if you bring in a structured routine through the day and try to drop a night feed by settling without the boob that you have some success. It's not a given by any means, and settling without the boob can take aaaaaaaages, but it can work (and it doesn't mean leaving bubs alone to cry either). I guess it depends how desperate you're feeling. At this stage, I am just going to let Phoebs set the rhythm until she's 6mo (unless I have a breakdown before then, LOL!)... If she's still waking more than twice a night I'll be night-weaning then (ie no boobie between 12 and 5am).
Course the above is certainly not for everyone - please ignore if you wish! You might find Bailey goes longer between feeds over the coming month anyway.

ETA: For the sake of the excersise, Phoebe feeds pretty erratically. If she's unsettled, she'll feed more. She's demand fed. (Max 5 hours between feeds - I get majorly full & uncomfy by then!) Some nights she wakes for 3 hourly feeds. Some nights she does a stretch of 5 hours then 2-3 hourly from then on. The last two nights she's done 4 hours, then 4 hours, then 1-2 hours. On the rare occasions she's gone longer its because she's been exhausted from crying for a long period in the afternoon (when not even the boob would console her).
