Hi Girls,

So has anyone started potty training? I bought the "3day potty training guide ebook" today and we are going to see how it goes. We have put Mima down to sleep tonight with no nappy on... So I will see how that goes overnight. I don't want to wait till I am lots bigger with this pregnancy even tho I am feeling properly knackered most evenings and mornings. So I hope Mima doesn't wake up to often overnight cos I will have to take her to the potty overnight if she does wake up and that is going to wake her up all the more and probably make her harder to put back to sleep.

Anyway I will cross my fingers and see how we go.

Bailey sits on the potty while I get his bath ready each night, most nights he does a wee, the other night he helped me empty it (all over the floor ) hahahahaha. I'm not going to start properly until he is dryer overnight though, so most likely a few months. I am basically just getting him to understand what the potty is for. We have a sticker sheet for him to use when he wee's but he pretty much just claps as soon as he has wee'd so he has the right idea. He actually started it not me as we have always had the potty in the bathroom, he loves it, he always follows us to the loo so I think he just loves to copy. As for #2s, he tells us AFTER he's done one, not before, so we are not ready to commence properly. I really dont want to attempt it until I am reasonably confident of success for two reasons, to make it easier on Bailey, and frankly I dont want to have to clean up the mess hahahahahaha
I also have that ebook d/loaded, I really like the idea of just focusing on it over a 3 day period rather than going back and forth between nappies and potty, too confusing. I actually got that idea from the Gregarious Peach Toilet Training Blog Bella

Did the 3 day program with Lachie when he was about 30 months old. He was whizz trained within 4 hours! AMAZED! It took 2 weeks to get the #2's sorted, but that was fine. I didn't follow it to a T.
Allira loves sitting on the toilet. I'm sure she's only months away from being totally ready but I'll just wait until the day she's totally ready to do it.
I highly recommend once you start you get rid of ALL nappies. Do not use them as back up... It seems to confuse kids and draw the process out. Once we took Lachie's last nappy off, he never ever touched one again. It was VERY easy ( probably a couple of nights wetting the bed, but that was very short lived) and we will follow a similar routine with Allira.

Hey girls. Sorry I've been offline lately. I am trying to keep up with you all on FB at least.

I hope all our May kiddos have wonderful birthdays. Sorry if I don't manage to wish everyone a personal happy birthday. It's hard getting on here every day.
Bella, we haven't started TT yet. P used to be happy to sit on the toilet before her bath but then she started to complain about it so I've decided to leave it alone for a while. We might start once the weather warms up towards the end of the year. But GL - let us know how she gets on.
I don't know if it is because she has been quite sick lately (ear infections and a cough that just. won't. go. away.) but Phoebe has been SUCH a tantrum queen. She has a couple a day at least and she squeals as she throws herself backwards. It can be about as little as our putting her shoes on for her (when she had intended to do it herself). Then there's no pleasing her until she's finished the tanty. It is getting a bit tiresome but I guess we're all managing with it.
She's been awake practically all night the last 2 nights and I'm trashed. She is crying in her semi-sleep and only sleeping deeply when I am holding her. Poor bubba - I think her ear/s may be infected again.
Our new place is so fricking cold! I can't get over it. The last couple of nights have been so frosty. Our power bill is going to hit the roof, I bet.
Other than the sickness & increase in tantrums we are really enjoying the girls atm. They are playing together quite well and we are so proud of the way Nat speaks to Phoebe. There was a time when all I wanted was for them to get along and it looks like that time is finally arriving. They get on each others' nerves at times but mostly they are very sweet together. It makes life so much easier when you don't have to adjudicate constantly! Phoebe also copies Nat like crazy. Natty makes up little songs in the car and after a few minutes they are in chorus, LOL. It's so funny and DH and I often laugh out loud at the pair of them.
I think P is awake so I'd better dash. Love you all. xx

E is very - fervent - in her tantrums as well! but, she has been sick too. i wonder if it's a two year old thing....

Sorry to hear P has been sick - I was about to come in here and ask after read about hospital trip on facebook - very scary. CJ tantrums are not so fervent but they are for her if you see what I mean so I think could be part two year old thing - but I know she was worse when she had an ear infection.

jamie has just started climbing out of the cot
and being a pain to put to bed its seriously doin my head in its getting to a stage of me putting him in bed and closing the door and listening to him scream for 5 mins then having to pick him up when he falls asleep on the floor any other ideas and he wont go to sleep with us which would be easier coz then i would get him a single bed and lay with him

J - whats your bedtime routine? If you aren't already, try to implement a bath, book, bedtime routine, seriously it works a treat and then Jamie will know whats coming

Perhaps he's ready for a bed? If he's climbing out of the cot (as well as the danger if he falls) he might just be anti cot now - maybe even try the cot mattress on the floor, and make the bed an exciting place to be - some nice kids sheets and a special pillow or something perhaps?

Vic, it was very scary. She was dehydrated and needed IV ABs. Poor baby had to have cannula inserted twice cause the first one failed I was bawling my eyes out having to hold her down while they stuck her. It was horrible.
Nay, LOL @ selective deafness! I get that with Natty a fair bit. And DH too, come to think of it...
Jacinta, hugs babe. I know P's not ready for a bed yet as she'll just run around like a loony. But it must be tough when J has made the decision for you. Climbing out of the cot is a pretty strong indicator that it's got to go! Nay's suggestion of a mattress on the floor sounds like a real good one. I agree, make a big fuss about it, lie down with him and read a story together etc. If he keeps getting up you may need to just consistently put him back into his bed until he gets the idea. I have read stories where you can do this hundreds of times in a night! But all the stories say that the number of times you have to do it decreases dramatically within a couple of nights.

Oh dear. Kyson managed to spend $75 on my credit card last night.

Sounds impossible? Well I downloaded a book for him on the iPad. It was free, but I had to log in to the app store to get it. I assumed that when you leave the app store you are no longer logged in. Bad assumption! I also assumed that if Kyson was in a game and was trying to buy something in the game (even though he didn't know what he was doing) that it would ask for my password again. Another bad assumption! $75 dollars later we have 145,000 unwanted "coins" in a game he occasionally plays. I've contacted iTunes to see if they can refund...
