Dear me, this is "take two" of a previous post. I wrote half a post then Kyson clibed on my lap, turned off the monitor then grabbed the mouse. He managed to click the side button on the mouse which is the "back" button, so when I got the monitor back on I had was back on the BB main page and my post was lost in cyber space, lol. So then I typed a quick "I be back to repost" post, and I've just noticed that he somehow "disappeared" that one too! Soooo, let's see if I can remember what I wrote, hehe.
Vic, I agree with Nay that little boys rock! Although, now that I have a little girl I realise that little girls rock too, hehe. Congrats on finding out you are having a little boy, and I hope all the medical news was fantastic and that Stirling is growing strong and healthy. I really like the name Stirling and I think it goes really well with Cerys. I find it odd when parents give their sibling really different names, like one child having a really old-style classic name, and then another having a really odd modern name. It just seems strange. Although I guess it's all subjective. I'm sure there are some people out there that don't think that Kyson and Shayla match even though we do :)
Would you girls believe that Kyson slept from 7pm last night until 11.45am this morning?! That's almost 17 hours! Craziness! I kept going in to check on him but each time he was just still sleeping peacefully. I was worried that maybe he was coming down with a sickness, but he woke up happy and was fine all day. Suffice to say he didn't have a nap today, lol. He's so funny though and he has DH and I in hysterics every day with all the cute things he does. He seems to have grown up so much over the last few months and he's learning lots of new things and words. I love when he sings along to songs (even when he doesn't know the words!). He even sings the music sometimes haha!
Shayla is also doing really well. I thought Kyson was an easy baby, but Shayla is just a dream! She rarely cries and even then it's only if she's hungry. The most I've heard her cry is sometimes in the car. But as long as the car keeps moving she's generally fine. It's just traffic lights that she's not a fan of. Kyson was the same. She's been sleeping quite well at night and many nights she is feeding at around 11.30pm when we go to bed, then at 4ish and then 6.30-7ish in the morning. Other nights she feeds a bit more but she's pretty good :) Usually she is a bit less settled from 6.30am and wants to feed on and off, but that's fine with me considering how good she is during the night. I don't think Bobby even hears her during the night at all which is great considering she's in our room.
Shayla started getting some nasty nappy rash that I couldn't get rid of with three different creams I had tried (sudocreme, aromababy bottom balm and nappy goo from the RCH). It was looking really bad so I made a couple of changes and now it has totally cleared up but I don't know what change fixed it lol! I made some cloth wipes and put them in a container with water and have been cleaning her bottom with them, and also our MCHN mentioned that you can use cornflour on the area that gets moist in neck rolls (lol) so I thought that might be good on her bottom too. Now I'm not sure if I should just keep using both of them or to either go back to store bought wipes or normal bottom cream. I guess I should just stick with what works...
Also, we got all our professional photos today from our maternity and newborn shoot. I LOVE them! Our photographer does such a wonderful job. I can't wait to get them framed properly and put them on the wall. I hope I can get the same frames that I have from Kyson's maternity and newborn shoot, otherwise I'll have to buy all new frames for the whole lot I think. We're also going to get the family photo made into a big canvas for the lounge room, and maybe a couple of small canvases (that you can get free from Huggies with newborn nappy barcodes :) ).

Oooh, I was just about onto that canvas promotion at Huggies Krystie - but realised they specifically need newborn or infant size barcodes - I have 30+ in toddler!!! :doh:

Thanks girls - yes all the medical stuff was good. We had two sonographers (one in training) so it seemed to take a bit longer than CJ did, but also I think Stirling wasn't quite so co-operative - I continue to be amazed at how much they can tell from an ultrasound (seeing the chambers in the heart etc - some parts of medical technology are so clever). He is a big boy, which we were expecting due to CJ's size, and midwife thinking was about 2 weeks ahead at 16 weeks, and his head is measuring 90th percentile but sonographer thought he was probably about 90th all over. DH was 10pd 13oz and if boys and second babies are often bigger it fits with that. Am hoping that we can avoid hip dysplasia girls are 4-5 times more likely to suffer than boys apparently, but if you have a sibling or parent with it then there is a 1 in 10 chance, and big babies increases the likelihood too. I will be getting a scan in week 1 this time!
Amy - I noticed you mentioned about cradle cap on one of the photos of Phoebe - am assuming is normal even though still have hair to get it then?- CJ still has it I was thinking as she got more hair would disappear?
One more weekend with the IL's who are due back in Mel on Friday - I wonder how many loads of washing they will do over the 3 days before they leave :-). I love seeing them with CJ though, is very interesting and often gives me ideas on stuff to do with her - her favorite activity with her Nana is reading holiday magazines! We had no toys to speak of (barring iggle piggle etch a sketch and a pink horse) for the week and found lots of interesting ways of amusing CJ, and have found she really loves dressing up so a box of dressing up clothes is on my list to sort out.
ditto if we have a second!!! Unlikely with a boy (its 1 in 3000!! Let's hope Bailz remains that 1 in the 3000 in the belly belly community) but I totally understand your concern.:
krystie - thats how jazzy is too such a dream love having a bubba girl and boy we should catch up seeings as we are close now :)

im thinking of trying solids for jazz already she seems ready but even if she isnt we'll try again later will check the wonder weeks JIC its just a growth spurt but its doing my head in work went well im tired from it but i'll get used to it its only one day a week and its a bit of a break
Nay - give huggies a call or send them an email and ask them if you can use the toddler barcodes instead. When I was going to get the play mat thingo that you used to be able to get with the newborn barcodes I was one or two barcodes short and Kyson was already in the toddler size nappies. So I emailed them and they said I could use the toddler barcodes and just pop a note in with them and tell them I had called them and got the ok from someone. They might let you do it too :) From our prof photos we have a pic of DH with Kyson and another with me and Shayla, so I really want them both as canvases, so I'm hoping that I have enough barcodes to get two (will get mum to sign up with the Huggies club and have one sent there as it's one per household). My bestie is moving to the UK soon so she is giving me all her barcodes so hopefully there will be some newborn ones in there. If I have extra I'll let you know :)
Vic - Isn't it funny how thorough you want to be second time around when there has been an issue with the first (or second in my case). If DH would ever let me have another baby (which will never happen :) ) I would be making them check the ductus arteriosus (duct between the two arteries coming out of the heart) very carefully at the 19 week scan. Apparently it can be picked up then, but it wasn't found at Shay;a's scan.
J - I'd love to catch up! I didn't realise you had already moved. Feel free to let me know what days you are free and you're welcome to come around for a visit. If you're lucky I might even bake a cake ;)
I was just looking at Shayla's "little blue book" and if I weighed her correctly when she was 6 weeks old, then I think she is growing MUCH faster than Kyson did, and I think she is now sitting in the 97th percentile! She was in the 75th at 3 weeks. I might have to weigh her again this weekend when she is 8 weeks old. I might even drive into work and weigh her on the cat scales, lol. They are actually baby scales and I promise I'll clean it first and cover it with a blanket hehe. THey give nice accurate weights though :)

Busy busy again.
Unfortunately, the kids great grandfather passed away yesterday morning, and I had to explain death for the first time to Lachie which was really hard. He seems to have understood... has asked a few questions and mentioned it a few times, but I'm sure he doesn't totally understand it at his age.
I'm thankful that Allira is just a bit too young to comprehend it all.
Other than that, we're doing ok. We move end of next month which will be good.
Allira has been cracking it after we drop Lachie off at 3yo kinder. It is hillarious! I wish she could go along.
Every morning she tells me she's going to kinder and grabs her backpack and puts it on.
Every Monday morning when we go to kinder, she has to take her backpack with her.
This coming week I have kinder duty, so she will spend the whole day there with Lachie and I know she will just love it! I wish I had to option of putting her in childcare for a day or 2 every week. She'd love it!

Nicky: Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope you are doing ok. Natalie and I have talked about death too. She just came up and asked me out of the blue one day. It was actually quite handy because not long afterwards it would have been MIL's 70th birthday, had she not have died 9 years ago. I explained that we were buying a candle for her other grandma who died before she was born. She got it straight away and even told her other grandparents what we'd done. They are very logical little beings, and really quite accepting. I hope your kids make this time easier for you, that along with your memories, they will brighten your lives and bring you joy. xx
krystie: Wonderful that Shayla is growing so well and is so settled and happy. LOL @ the cat scales! Much more convenient than lining up at the chemist. What was the rash like? I would think your best bet is sticking with the cloth wipes. It could be she just has sensitive skin that reacts to commercial wipes (and she may grow out of that anyway). I was using cloth wipes for ages with Nat when I was being diligent with cloth, LOL. They are really not much more hassle. I even chopped up and edged terry nappies and used that too (cause some of the more grippy fabrics are a bit more expensive, although they are a lot more effective so I guess you get what you pay for). You can even use cooled camomile tea to soak the wipes in first which is very soothing for her bottom!
Can't get over Kyson's big sleep! Wow!
J: I didn't know you were going back to work. I am glad it went well and hopefully you get into the groove of it all without getting too tired. Glad the move went well too :)
Vic: Glad all's looking good with Stirling. You obviously just cook lovely large babies and that's great.
The amount of hair the girls have hasn't made a difference to their cradle cap, unfortunately. I was really diligent with Natty - oiled her up regularly and combed it out until she was a bit over 1. Then it settled down and went away. Phoebe's is holding on though, but I certainly haven't been anywhere near as good at working it off. Less time, I suppose. I bought some Moogoo scalp cream last week and have used it twice now but there are still some really stubborn patches! I wouldn't care if you couldn't see it, but there are some seriously dark flakes right where I part her hair on the side and you can see it. There's nothing wrong with it I guess, I just don't like the look of it. And apparently it can be itchy for some kids but it doesn't seem to bother Phoebs. It's a hassle to comb it out and I have to really scratch it with the comb to get it off! So I'm just going to do bits at a time.
Sorry girls, have to dash. Smells like someone needs a nappy change and she's also due for a sleep. BBL.

Sooo, we are on our way to Melbs - flying over the morning of Fri 8th April - Sean has a gig at the Espy in St Kilda on the Friday night, then we are free Sat and Sun for a meet up if we can get a few of us together - was thinking maybe a picnic in one of the parks in St Kilda perhaps? We fly home Monday morning so its a pretty quick trip. Not sure if we will still come over July/Aug now as originally only Sean was coming over for his gig but Bailz and I decided to tag along. I have booked our flights and just waiting to hear back re an apartment I am hoping to rent (like a holiday rental - much cheaper than a traditional hotel or apartment)
Man, I had NO patience this arvo with Bailz and now I feel like a right cow - DOH to having no patience when your toddler is being a PITA :( Oh well - we all have these moments!!
Amy - Bailz still gets the odd patch of cradle cap, I barely do much about it these days as its rarely noticeable and he doesn't seem to care!!

Other than that - we are about to start TTC again (well in April anyhoo), but apart from you guys, I we are telling no one. I posted a thread here about what's going through my head atm, I hope its a smooth journey for us :)
Nicky - I'm so sorry to hear abouts the kids Grandfather. I hope Lachie is coping ok. Even though he's a bit older than Allira, it must still be very hard for him to understand. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Its super adorable that Allira is getting herself ready to go to kindy in the morning as well, hehe. I bet she is going to have an absolute ball on Monday!
Amy - Do the chemists near you still let you take babies in to be weighed? My MCHN nurse told me that none of the chemists around here do it anymore :( I might give a couple of them a call just to double check. I've been really lazy when it comes to the cloth wipes that I made. I just used some scrap bits of fleece material that was left from making some of the nappy covers. It's not a very absorbant material, but once they are saturated they work well enough at doing the bum cleaning, and then I just pat Shayla dry with a tissue, lol. I don't think I'll have much luck getting DH to use tham as well, but seeing as I have been using the cloth wipes for almost a week now, and DH has only done 2 nappy changes in that time, I guess the commercial wipes he uses on her won't make a huge difference, hehe. Good thing Kyson occasionally saves up a nice poopy nappy for him to make up for me doing all the nappy changes during the day ;)

Don't you just hate that impatient feeing? :( There's been times when Kyson is being a real cranky pants and being super demanding and I just feel like shouting at him! There's been times when I've pushed him away from me (not hard though, but just to get him off me) and then he's cried and I've felt so incredibly horrible. I've been getting frustrated when he throws things when he's not getting what he wants. He actually searches around for things to pick up and throw. Before Shayla was born I tried the ignoring tactic, but since Shayla has been born it's too dangerous to leave him throwing things with her around, so we've started picking him up and taking him to his room. He screams when we put him in there, but even when we open the door after only half a minute or so, he stops crying and starts chattering happily away as he walks back to the lounge room. Talk about bouncing back quickly, lol.
Wierd thing happened today. I was sitting on the couch feeding Shayla and Kyson was next to me playing on the iPad. He hadn't even moved from my side, but then I looked at his hand and there was blood on it. The I look at his face and there is blood smeared over it! Poor kid had a blood nose and I have no idea why. It wasn't a really bad one, and had even stopped bleeding before I got the facewasher to clean him up. It wasn't even really bothering him, I think it just tickled because he was wiping his hand across his nose which is how he got the blood over his hand. I must admit that I had a second of panic when I saw the blood though. Just a mummy-thing where you hate to see your childs blood :)
Quick pop-in - who was asking where you buy those mesh bags to store your bath toys in? (I thought it was in here but maybe it was someone from mum's group...)
Anyhoo... ALDI have them this week and they are only about $4. They are way cute. I bought one with an elephant and a lion suction cup. :) You can also get monkeys.

The Aldi is not that convenient actually well this week isn't with other stuff so Amy if you are able to grab one for me and Naomi that would be great - CJ loves monkeys so preference for monkeys!
and another here if possible - aldi here is crummy! seriously - i struggle to understand why people like it so much cos it drives me bonkers with it's lack of anything that is in the catalogue! i'll send you some dollars though

Got the best Vac last week for $99. Seriously, the best one I've ever owned!! LOVE me some Aldi stu***. (we already got the toy mesh bag, along with sme lightning Mcqueen loofah's soaps, bath wash and a funky new bath mat all for when we move ina few weeks. Ooo got the kids a themed floor mat too. Thomas for Lachie and Tinkerbell for Allira.
We have 2 Aldi's in town and a 3rd opening at some stage.

Nicky, I loved the look of the bath toys. There were waterfalls and fishing games etc... They all looked fab! But I had to buy the mesh bag because the girls already have too many bath toys, LOL. I also loved the look of the pop-up hampers! There were monkey ones and elephant ones - way cute! But the girls already have a dirty clothes 'bin' - one of those hot pink wheelie ones from the reject shop :) So even though I desperately wanted a monkey one I refrained. haha.
Our Aldi is just up the road at our local shops and I love it. There's a reject shop right next door too!

E is an animal lover. She goes to my parents place, won't say hello to them til she has spoken to "Bot Bot" (the dog, Spot). if she seens another dog, it's a pot pot, if she hears one, same thing. she mostly calls cats pots too, although occassionally we get cat.
i was petrified of dogs when i was little (still not a fan of jumpy big dogs) - really want to get E a dog, but have it's not really happening for a while at least
I'd LOVE to, but I just cannot commit to anything at the moment. With all the sports/exercising I do, in committees for kinder and tennis, VP for playgroup, moving house next month, plans of a Hubby and Me only holiday later in the year.... and the ever present threat of flooding and having to relocate everytime (which will probably happen tomorrow or Thursday. LOL), I just don't have the time or the bank balance. If only I lived a little closer to a capital city and it might make things a little easier.

On another note, I'm just wondering if your kids are still a tiny bit unsteady on their feet? Allira doesn't seem unsteady and she runs around everywhere, but sometimes she trips over her own feet. It's kinda funny.... but yeah just wanted to make sure that it's what all the kids are doing. It's hard to remember back to when Lachie was this age (Mainly because when Lachie was this age, Allira was born.... I think I have blocked out about 3 months when I first become a Mum of 2. Crazy times!).
My only wish? That she wasn't so darn talkative!! She never shuts up and I worry about what kind of monster I have created. hahaha
Nicky - Bailz still falls about here and there - usually cos he's little legs can't keep up with himself LOL
BG - no incident as such re the 'scared of dog/animal' thing
The only thing that comes to mind is B's godparents have this little white scampering mutt (don't know what it is) but its harmless but it runs extremely fast and bolts to the door when we arrive and I think the sheer speed and the fact that the dog is sniffing at him as soon as we walk in the door just overwhelmes him, and now he seems to have transferred that fear to any moving non human form!! :doh: But its not like he's been bitten or barked at as such.
We took him to the zoo when he was littler (around one I think) and he was fine then, its really only been the last few months that this fear has come about!

Naomi - CJ went through a phase like that - if a dog was within 500 m she wanted to be picked up and carried, and then that seemed to carry over to all animals. It probably lasted 5 -6 weeks and now she seems fine with dogs and other animals again. I have to admit we were mean parents and took her to the zoo and farms during that time basically because we were trying to work out whether was all animals or not - well that is my excuse. So it might be something that passes fairly quickly for Bailey too.
The museum in Melbourne (Melbourne Museum) isn't a bad option for a meet - children's section has lots of stuff for them to do and play with (including dressing up as different animals) and there is stuff indoors and outdoors depending on the weather - there is also a good park nearby. Adults are 8 dollars, and children are free. Is easy on public transport too.
Nicky - Kyson doesn't seem to trip over himself unless his shoes give him trouble. The thing he trips over most are MY feet when he's trying to follow me too closely or get around me when I'm sitting on the couch, lol. Other than that he's quite steady, but then he was an early walker and has been practising for a long time now ;)
Oh, do any of you know if you can use pyrenel (head lice treatment) when breastfeeding? I don't have head lice, but I checked my 11 year old DSS's head and think he does. So he's used the treatment and now I'm paranoid and feeling itchy (stupid power of suggestion). If it's completely safe I wouldn't mind sticking it on all our heads just in case, but I'm worried because of the pyrethrum in it... Maybe I should just condition my hair really well and run the lice comb through it a few times... I read that you can smother your head in mayo or castor oil, wrap it in plastic or a shower cap and leave it over night, but that reallllly does not sound fun at all!
EDIT: Actually, I think it's all fine. I ran the lice comb through my hair and through DH's hair and the worst thing we found was some dry skin flakes, lol. DSS combed out some icky little lice after using the pyrenel though. I never knew they were so little! No wonder you can only find the eggs in the hair when you are searching for them.
Krystie: Glad the nit-scare was a false alarm. We have had a couple of reports of lice in Natty's preschool but fortunately haven't had to treat any... I wouldn't have the foggiest as to what's safest and most effective. I don't think I've ever seen lice before either, although I've certainly had dandruff :)
Nay: Natty is freaked out by animals too. It started off with dogs but now it's cats as well. She had a bad experience with a Jack Russell a couple of years ago at a work Christmas party I took her to - she was already not altogether fond of dogs but that seemed to throw her over the edge. WE haven't been back to the zoo but I guess at Nat's age she knows they're behind bars and she's safe.
Nicky: P is still known to topple over every now and again. She is more unco in shoes. But she is learning to jump atm and that looks hilarious! Talk about unco, LOL. Phoebe is learning more words atm, although I wouldn't call her a chatterbox. She says our names very well and will shout your name until she has your undivided attention, then once you say, 'yes Phoebe?' she has to stop and think of something to say to you. It's rather funny but a little frustrating when you are trying to have a serious conversation with someone.
We are moving house next week. It's good because we'll be closer to the family, not so good because the place is slightly smaller with less storage. It's a pretty area though, right on the bush (am trying not to think about the spiders ;) ) and there's a park just up the hill, a shortish walk away.
blurgh - moving sucks! glad it's not me this time around!

just want to apologise to everyone for not being particularly active and chatty in here. i have been struggling with stuff IRL, and, if i'm honest, the number of preg announcements and new bubbas in here, as wonderful as it is, is also feeling a bit like a kick in the guts for me from an emotional perspective. we are over the moon to have E, and know how truly blessed we are - and we are also content (ish) with her being an only baby as ivf isn't on the cards again - but I'm still struggling with the emotional side of things when i'm confronted with pregnancies and new babies. it's nothing against anyone - i LOVE that you are all having babies again - just feeling a bit "woe is me" about it not being us. i think it really doesn't help that things have been so emotionally charged with the type of calls i'm taking at work so far this year, and losing so many people in my life that i care about - feeling a bit too drained to be able to come in here and be supportive and stuff. Hope no-one thinks this is anything against any of you because it's not - just going into the same old self-preservation techniques i used while TTC E - if things are too much emotionally, avoid it all! not healthy, but MEH!
anyway - been having a good-ish few days emotionally this week. the damage i have done to my back hasn't healed properly, so have been seeing the chiro more this week - the bonus to this is the fact i've been seeing him for a long time, and he has picked up a mood change, and pushed me to confront what i have been feeling. he's also given C the nudge to help me with dealing with it and working out where we stand. we have both admitted that one child is enough - any more would be a bonus - and we're both secretly hoping for that bonus. he is struggling as well, so at least he is understanding where i'm at...
on the subject of my back - it's pretty much screwed up - i've strained the major muscles in my upper back and shoulders, and haven't given it a chance to heal properly, so i'm now on a "no heavy lifting for two weeks" ban - E will, most times, climb up into my lap, so the only lifting i'm doing is when she is upset and just can't do it herself. hopefully soon it will be all ok - hate feeling like i'm useless!
now on to the fun stuff - the poppet! All i can say is WOW - how much are these kidlets developing at the moment? Every day is something new. I fall in love with her all over again every single day. A new word, a new action, understanding something new - everything makes me so damn happy and proud to be her Mummy! She is amazing in every way. I am so damn impressed with the way she is growing up! She is such a lovely little personality (even when she tantrums lol - she gives us a hug afterwards to apologise) - she engages people with her personality all the time. She is a little girl we're happy to take out in public because she almost always behaves so well (very rarely she will be over tired and have "issues" lol). She is starting to get more shy around strangers, but when she realises that mummy and daddy are talking to them and it's ok, she comes out of her shell again. i'm not too worried about it - i figured healthy caution isn't a bad thing around strangers lol
we have started doing some basic work on toilet training her, but we're not going to push it. It will happen when the time is right! I've very much adopted the "it will happen when it happens" attitude to parenting. i believe E could be further developed with some of her skills if DH and I swapped roles again (i'm more academic, so reading, drawing etc) but she is doing things i wouldn't do with her (she knows how to do things in the garden that i'm clueless about - quite embarrassing really). We just need to find a balance and to encourage Daddy to do the drawing/crafty type stuff more with her - which will happen when the weather changes again. I don't mind them making the most of the outside time while they can

Amy - Kyson is learning to jump as well and I agree that it is hilarious. He's been doing a semi-jump for a while now where he sort of jumps off one foot first and the "jump" is more like a skip. He was doing that lots copying Dorothy the Dinosaur characters, lol. I've now been teaching him the double footed jump and half the time he lands on his butt, haha! I also taught him somersaults which we are calling roly-polys. It's so cute when he does it. Half the time though hegoes over sideways instead of all the way over in a straight line.
BG - I haven't quite done a move with kidlets. Our move was a little under a month before Kyson came :)
No need to apologise about being less active in here. We all know that life sometimes gets in the way of our BB-life ;) There has definitely been a lot of new preg and birth announcements in here lately and I've thought about how hard that might be for some people. And you're totally within your rights to feel a little "woe is me" about it too. Gosh, even I already get emotional knowing that I will never have another baby. Sometimes I look at Shayla and actually cry because I'll never have another bub doing what she is now, and she's growing much too quickly! I'm really glad that C is so understanding.
I have no idea how you are managing the "no lift" ban. I'm always having to pick up or move Kyson around, and even just playing with him can be a strain on my back! I hope you start to feel better soon.
I certainly agree that this is an amazing developmental stage for our kidlets. Kyson loves to ask for "more <insert whatever he currently wants>" lol! DH was in stitches the other day when Kyson walked up to him and very clearly and adamently said "more... sushi!". He still chucks an awesome tanty at least a couple of times a day and I'm always amazed how wet his face becomes with a combination of tears, drool and snot!!! He's worked out how to placate me when he's doing something naughty though... I tell him "no" or "stop" and he comes and gives me a kiss, lol.
We're having a little issue some days with nap time though. Kyson goes happily down into his cot after a book and a song while I snuggle him. Then some days he goes off to sleep, while others (like today) he stays in his cot chatting and singing away to himself. He'll stay in there for the hour and a half that he usually sleeps and then I go in there and get him out. But of course then in the afternoon he puts on his cranky pants and it's all fun and games as I'm sure you can all imagine. I'm glad that I still get the break while he's in his cot awake, and I'm glad that he's happy while he's in there, but I still really wish that he would actually sleep while he was in there.
Shayla is still doing really well. I thought Kyson was a pretty easy baby, but Shayla is a dream! She sleeps really well and is generally happy when she's awake. She loves to watch Kyson when he's playing next to us, and he likes to give her kisses which is lovely. She's growing way way to fast for me though. I weighed her last weekend and I think she's now in the 97th percentile. I was meant to have a MCHN apt yesterday but my nurse got called up for jury duty, so our 8 week apt is now going to be when Shayla is 10 weeks. I'm very interested to see what her stats are when we go. I think she's growing quickly because there is so much milk available to her due to Kyson still breastfeeding too. I really love tandem feeding ♥
BG - I totally know where you are coming from babe, everytime I hear a pg announcement despite my happiness for the expectant mum, it brings up our fertility issues and strikes fear in me that we may not have baby #2. I feel panic, resentment and just plain sadness sometimes. But they are MY feelings and actually have nothing to do with how I feel about the happy news IYKWIM as have been overjoyed to hear when all of our BB girls have announced. Funnily enough I distanced myself from my IRL mothers group here as one just had a baby, 2 are pregnant and the last is TTC and said to me "which one of us will get pregnant first" to which I replied a little curtly "I think we all know it will be you" Arrgggh!! The reason I have pulled back though is that two of them supposedly had 'accidents' the second time around and both have said that wanted baby #2 because they hated going back to work, and both of them 'surprised' their husbands with the "I'm pregnant" announcement even though they have pretty much said to me that they weren't using birth control. Now its none of my business yes, but personally I would never pull that on my husband (like I could anyway!!) - TWO people need to make these decisions!! And seriously, once you have one baby, pretty sure you know how to avoid an accident!!
We haven't moved either - we built here in 2007 and have NO intention of moving for 20 + years LOL. Don't know how you guys manage to pack up a house and toddlers/babies, it was hard enough when we were doing it as a newly married couple hehehehehe
Bailey is starting to tell us AFTER he's poo'd or wee'd, but he doesn't really give us any pre-warning so we have no intentions of starting toilet training for now. I'd rather start later and be successful than put us all through the stress of it too early :)
Krystie - love re the tandem feeding, I am looking forward to breastfeeding again if we are lucky enough to conceive, I want to BF for longer this time if it all works out :) Glad to hear Shayla is doing so well, I love looking at her in your FB photo's she is so pretty :)
Amy - GL with the moving babe, nice to be closer to family, Bailz would love the location from the sounds of it!
Re the Meet up - Does the Sat 9th or Sun 10th (April) suit people better? We have locked in our accommodation in St Kilda now - does a picnic in one of the beautiful parks down there (St Kilda) appeal to others? We are available on both days, I think we hope to go to the Aquarium while there too :)
We are car hunting - our family car is just costing too much in repairs of late - its 10 years old, its time to upgrade, kinda exciting. Dont want to buy brand new as I think thats a waste of money, but looking to buy a 08 or 09 - Prob a Commodore again. I'm a sedan type of gal :)

Both days work for us - Saturday probably a slight preference for. St Kilda is good for us.
We haven't moved with bubs, and have no intention of moving for maybe another 4 years (with two little ones in a two bed apartment this may be a challenge but at the moment we are up for it!). I hate moving with a passion, but have done it so many times!
