You've made me ponder too and I think you are right, its still baby/toddler related, everything we chat about is :)
Ugh, Nay, I am cringing over the comments by your MG! We had a similar story with some friends a few years back. They struggled to fall pg with their first but then had two very soon after, neither of which were planned. When they told us they were having a third and I passed on the news to my sister (who has been trying to fall for about 9 years now with no success) she said, 'for heavens' sake, should I post them some condoms?!?' And yes, 'surprising' your other half with a pregnancy is pretty awful behaviour IMO.
I realise how good I have it in being able to choose how many kids we have, and I ask you guys who don't have the choice so easily to forgive me when I go on and on, sounding less than thrilled with my two kids. I am very happy and appreciative that for no good reason I haven't had to struggle the way that some have/do.
I also am really thankful that I've got two healthy kids. My niece has just been offered a wish by the Starlight Foundation. It was weird hearing that, I kept thinking, 'but that's for really chronically ill/dying kids', and I guess my niece's illness is going to cause her a lot of suffering for as long as her life may be. It sucks and it makes me ever thankful that my kids are well.
Incidentally, she has been given time to think about what she'd like and hasn't made up her mind just yet, but the first thing she thought of was to be a mermaid and be able to breathe underwater. PMSL! How classic is that?!? She is 5.
We have made negative progress with toilet training here - P now doesn't want to sit on the toilet before baths so I'm not even bothering with that anymore, LOL! We are definitely going to leave well alone with it. Probably for another 6 months or so, I reckon.
Krystie, LOL @ the somersaults. P is still working on the 'skip-like' jump rather than both feet together.
Amy ya dingbat - doesn't mean you are not allowed to vent when you are having a bad day etc - god, there are many times that I am less than thrilled with Bailz, doesn't mean I am not appreciative of what I have, just means I am human! I know what you mean though, I sometimes feel a bit silly for worrying about our issues when we got pregnant on our first IVF cycle - most don't so our issues are minor, but they are OUR issues, and you can only ever cope with what's happening in your life - as when ever any of us are going through issues it always IS the worst we have to deal with at the time.
But you know what I hate - I hate that our fertility issues affect how I feel about OTHER people having babies - that's just cr*p. I wish that I could hear a pg announcement and it just be about that person, not me IYKWIM. I have caught myself thinking things like "I am more deserving to be a mother, or to get pregnant again blah blah blah". I hate that I judge :(
Yeah - what Nay said!!
don't ever feel you can't talk about your kids - ANY OF YOU! honestly - as Nay said - our issues are OUR issues. I think it's something I, personally, will always "suffer" - the mindset of a long termer - it just doesn't go away. I will be honest and admit it's the worst kind of jealousy (putting it very simply) - it's a horrible way to feel but i just can't help it. it's the reason i withdraw though - i believe self preservation is the only way to manage this feeling. it's not about anyone else at all - it's all about ME (selfish much? lol)
i agree too with Nay that it is crap to have the inability to stop those thoughts - i really am truly HAPPY with our lives - we have an amazing little girl who makes me fall in love with oher more and more every single day - i hate that i have these other thoughts because it's a part of me i just don't believe should be showing up now!
We all judge though, girls. I think even the least competitive of us have judgemental thoughts about other peoples' parenting... even those of us who don't have kids! And I hate myself for thinking things sometimes, even if I am on a different tangent to you, I still judge other mums and feel ashamed of it.
Plus, I wonder if it is part of a grieving process ITMS? You grieve for the child you haven't yet had and we all think brutally honest thoughts when we grieve.
ETA: So I understand if you want to vent about being good mothers and being deserving of more children and how it is TOTALLY unfair that you are not falling pregnant. I will also understand if you need to rack off for a while in order to protect yourself.
You've certainly been nothing but understanding and supportive when life hasn't gone my way either, so big thanks for that.
i think it's just about needing to grieve, for even a short time, something that doesn't, and won't, come easily. the unfairness of our lot in life. and that grieving is generally triggered by pg and birth announcements. i don't tend to have so many "why is she a parent and not me, i'd do it better" moments - more, the "why can't i have a roll in the hay with my man and fall pregnant and keep the baby. rather than come in here and sound superficial and insincere, i just withdraw a little. i did mention it to Bel in FB chat after her pg announcement. it's really nothing AGAINST anyone - just my own way of coping with my own shyte situation. I am pretty realistic - 6 pregnancies, one child. even if we were lucky enough to fall, i have a fairly high failure rate, so that always bugs me as well.
i think actually admitting how i'm feeling will help me a little with coming in here anyway. if i'm having an off day and everyone is gushing about something (like a baby belly or something) and i'm not, i'm hoping you get it. it's not that i don't think the newest photo on FB is gorgeous, it's just that i can't afford to spare the emotion gushing for others and still keep my own negativity at bay.
hope that makes sens!
Makes sense BG!
Man, I just got an email from the apartments we are staying at telling me that I need to pay a $300 bond - far out, it looks like that part of the information was missing from one of the earlier mails they sent me - Grrrr
I'll just pull that $300 out of my ar$e shall I? :wall:
nice way for them to get some dollars out of you Nay! rude!
I'm sure we'll get it back, but I certainly hadn't budgeted for it!! We are off to Perth next week to visit my little brother so don't really want to take $300 out of the cash I've put aside from that, I will have to steal it from my Christmas Account and put it back when we get the bond back!
I dont want to crack the *****s and stay somewhere else cos this is such a great location but I did send them a rather stern email!! LOL
Check out the Avi Krystie made me! You rock darling thanks:)
So cute!
looking good there Bella :)
awesome im waiting for mine to be finished
So glad you like it Bella :D
Nice! Like it, Bella! (Well done, Krystie :) )
Agh, Nay, I am glad you wrote them an email! I would have been spewing as I don't have a Christmas account, LOL!
We have moved! And I have my interweb back! Yay!
Our new place is lovely, although we have some work to do out the back before it's suitable for the girls. They have been playing inside since we moved in (mainly because of the rain - it has been torrential. Great when you're trying to move ) and will be until I can either convince DH to get off his butt and fix lattice to the deck fence or until I grow impatient and do it myself! I suspect the latter.
We have a creek running down the back - it was flowing so fast during the rain and there are tree ferns and massive gums all around, brush turkeys come by every day and I hear whip birds really close by in the mornings. It's like living up north except cooler (which is lucky cause there's no air con, LOL! We'll see how lovely it is in mid-summer). There's a lot of moisture about since the rain though - I wiped mould off the dining chairs yesterday :o and it's quite dark. This morning got up for work and couldn't see anything! I now have to run upstairs and put my pants on cause I couldn't find them before :)
P has been very unsettled with the move which is understandable. I think she is also having a rough time with her lower canine teeth coming through - it looks ouchy and she keeps pulling at her lower jaw when she gets tired and irritable. Poor little love. She will settle soon enough though I think.
I'd better dash! Will be back on a bit later. xx
Congrats on the move Amy. Hopefully the girls both settle in nicely :)
Kyson cut one of his bottom canines yesterday morning. When he got up I could just feel the little point protruding through the gum. It's much more noticeable today so I think the swelling has gone down a bit. It seemed like this particular tooth took forever to cut! He was even waking up a couple of times during the night because of it. One more to go!
Boo!! ...................Still here....gee I am a slack poster...lol!
BTW this post is for your Nay ;)
Will be back tomorrow to catch up with all your lovely ladies and our nearly 2 year old :(
Nicxx
hehehe WB Mumma - missed ya in here xx
New Avi?
Yes it's the new me!!...How good does my waist line look...
You have perky boobies LMAO
Love the Avi x
Gravity is no longer a problem.....don't you know I am in my 20's again...pmsl!!
Boo to all off you too :)
I have been really slack at posting in here. Mostly posting in the TTC threads atm..
Mima has been really struggling to get into the hang of her latest sleep routine. She is trying to drop her day sleep. When she does she is knackered and goes to bed on time, otherwise she tries to push it out till 9pm which is killing DH and I. Anyway it is a work in progress. Otherwise she is pretty good. I think that she has all of her teeth now which is nice for us to not keep going thru that with her. Mind you now I don't have an excuse for her bad sleep behaviour. She is still bfing and when I was preg last month she was feeding soooo often it wa a killer. Still don't know if I will test positive this month yet but once again she has returned to begging for booby all the time. Like about 5 times during the day once when she wakes up, morning tea, nap time, after nap time (cos you need a hug and a booby after nap time apparently) and then before bed with generally another 2-3 over night. It is killing me!! Prior to this in Jan when we were in the UK she had dropped down to 2 feeds a day. First thing in the morning and last at night. I have no idea what is going on but I am about to expire from all the work! Anyway I will quit whinging. Not sure if it is a symptom of early pregnancy.... fingers crossed!
Hey Amy where did you move to babe? Thanks for all of the compliments on the Avi :) I thik you did a great job Krystie :)
Gonna go sit on the couch as my back is killing me!!!
Love Bella
Good Luck Bella
So is that her only day sleep Mima is trying to drop? I am hoping CJ is a way off that yet - she will make it through the day without if necessary but when I am home with her I like a nap so we nap together which is great and easy now she is in a full size bed. I am hoping she will still like day napping when Stirling arrives. The big bed seems to have been a big hit, and now since she gave up BF about a month ago she goes to bed really easily for either of us, 3 or 4 books and then no whining at all - not sure if is because we lay in the bed and read with her so is nice and relaxing or what, is also lying in till 8:00 at moment but think that will end once is lighter again in the mornings. She has only ended up on the trundle bed which we pull out just in case a few times and if we get a few more nights where she remains in the bed will stop pulling that out - bed is only about 30cm off floor anyway.
She talks a lot these days, but is quite cheeky if I tell her to get something she tells me she can't because it is sleeping. E.g. Can you pick that book up off the floor - no its sleeping! she replies. I said to her all her toys ever seem to do is sleep!
Anyway off to bed - must remember to come on before my 10:00pm bedtime!
Jamie didnt have his today and he was a little cranky but otherwise no worse for wear and went to sleep almost as soon as his head hit the pillow
LOL at CJs toys sleeping :)
Bailey is chatting up a storm at the moment, he never shuts up, its adorable :) He gets excited when he sees Murray (the red Wiggle) and yells Mu'ay Mu'ay and has stopped calling me Mum and yelling 'Nay' instead. If Sean asks him what Mummy's name is he says 'Nay' then giggles and says "Mummy".
Are your kids going through a massive helpful stage? Bailey is amazing, if I am in the shower he brings me a towel, he brings me all sorts of things, tries to help me put my shoes on, loves putting things away and even tries to 'help' when I go to the loo (kinda not that helpful really  ) He seemed to really grow up when we were away. He moves up to the Toddler/PreKindy room at childcare after Easter - Boo Hoo, he is so ready though!
We are looking forward to catching up on the 9th :) Yay!
Oh, and remember our old belly buddy MrsBB? (Brooke from Perth?) She had a little boy Talan? Anyhoo she is pregnant with #2, and you've probably seen that so is Jess with #3 (Beautiful Madness)
Anyhoo, other than going back to work I am madly enjoying my camera and photographer at the moment, my course last sunday was amazing and I learnt HEAPS!!
Thats it for now, hope everyone is well!!
Nay
x
I think I have really been MIA...
Bella, I'm so sorry for your loss, babe - I hadn't caught up with that. Hope you are doing ok and looking after yourself. We have moved to Thornleigh, about 20 minutes away from where we were before. Not a massive move :)
Phoebe only sleeps for about 45 mins during the day, except at CC when she sleeps for 2 hours pretty much every time! They wear her out, I guess. Sorry that Mima is tiring you out! It does sound exhausting to be feeding that often, although it is a nice excuse for a lie down if she'll do it that way, lol!
Nay: I hadn't caught up with those pregnancies. That is exceptionally sweet that Bailz is so helpful. And the first-name calling is gorgeous too. I remember Natty calling us by our first names on occasions when she was 2 and we fell apart laughing - they copy your tone and everything. Phoebe isn't remotely interested in helping me out... with anything at all. LOL! She is as lazy as her big sister who only packed up her fishing game off the breakfast table this morning because I threatened to throw it in the bin.
Vic: LOL @ the sleeping toys! That's very creative. Phoebe just flat out says, 'no'. Even when we try to crack jokes at a time that doesn't suit her she will look at me blankly and say, 'no'.
We are enjoying the new house, although the kids are yet to settle into their previous routine. We have had a lot of early mornings so I haven't been able to sneak out for a walk or run.
Phoebe makes me laugh so much these days. She is such a character and very different from Nat at times. She can't STAND to have an empty tummy - being hungry is akin to being in terrible pain apparently. Her latest cute saying is when she comes up to me and says, "Hi guys. What doing?"
Natty is getting very grown up and asks some seriously difficult questions, LOL! Thank goodness for google, cause most of the time I can't answer her questions about the way things work.
I am going to be working FT again during May while my colleague goes on holiday. It will be really full on this year because there are no holidays in the middle! So I'll possibly have one or two days off in 5-6 weeks.
Looking good there Nay ;)
BBL once I have cooked the family some yummy b/fast!! Bacon and eggs here we come.........
lovely to catch up with some of our little group yesterday
sorry if i was a bit on the quiet side. probably time to fess up that we almost didn't come as i had a pretty ordinary anxiety attack yesterday morning before we left. wasn't coping with the notion of being able to deal with pregnant bellies and little bubbas. it has become apparent of late that my head and heart aren't on the same page. head says one is fine, heart says to get real, i want more kids. it's hard. really hard. it's highly unlikely to happen, and when i'm around little bubbas and pregnant bellies, i don't cope so well at the moment. it took a lot of energy to show up, but i'm glad we did.
hugs xoxoxoxoxoxo it was nice to see u and everyone else too
BG, I'm really glad you still came :) I know what I'm about to say is going to seem strange considering I have a 3 month old... But I can understand how you are feeling. Obviously not quite to the degree that you feel it though. I almost feel a little guilty having these feelings knowing that there are people like you that have only one child (and even some that have none) that really want another baby, but I just don't feel 'complete' :( I'd really love to have another baby, but DH is dead against it. As much as he adores Shayla, he would have been content to stop after Kyson. I find myself thinking about "next time" and find myself almost in tears (and sometimes actually in tears) knowing that there never will be a next time. I even make plans and then realise that they'll never eventuate. Like, last week I was thinking about how next time I wouldn't find out the sex and how interesting it would be experiencing the "it's a boy!" or "it's a girl!" moment after the birth. Then I felt gutted when I remembered it would never happen. At times I even think about getting pregnant on the sneaky, but that would just be too unfair to DH and I could never do it. To deal with my emotions I've told DH that he can't get "the snip" yet because I'm just not ready. It's one thing to talk about never having anymore children, but it's quite a different thing emotionally to KNOW it can never happen. I've also told him that I don't want to go on the pill yet (even the lowest dosage one makes me sick during the night and I don't want to have to deal with that when I wake to feed Shayla) so contraception is up to him if he doesn't want anymore kids.
Anyway, after my long-winded story, I just wanted to express that while I can't imagine the extent of your feelings, I wanted you to know that I understand your emotions. I truly hope in my heart that you will be blessed with a little miracle. ♥
Sticking my head in again.....
BG, you and I must be on the same page atm. I truly understand how hard it is and has it's days when you just feel like putting your head in the sand.
Am also going through a bad patch atm. As some of you read in my recent status update things are not on the up and up atm.
DH and I are not getting on the best and every day the fights about nothing keep happening :( It is very trying and I know little man is feeling it at times which breaks my heart. With everything that we have been through with TTC AC Aaron's medical issues we seems to be drifting away a little.
I am still a SAHM and loving it but every day he keeps asking when I am going back to work which is driving me nutty. We can survive with me being at home just but it works.
Also with all the sad news on BB it really gets me thinking about not wanting another baby and then I really want one for Aaron but since we will not be doing IVF again it's just a wait and see game. Of out birthing group class of 6 me incl (we catch up every 2 weeks) one has had their second baby and one is pg. Must be so nice just to say let’s try for a baby and presto your pg ( by no means am I making anyone on here who has not needed IVF) just my feelings so I hope you understand.
Aaron is great, can hardly believe that he will be 2 next month. He is a little boy playing happy with his 4000 trains and has a really sweet nature.
His HC growth has really slowed down although we are keeping an eye on it every 4-6 months but so far so good and he is just following is own curve.
I really am going to do my best and start catching up with you ladies in here, I am a bit slack and sorry to make my first post all about me.
BTW the photos yesterday are fantastic looks like everyone had a blast!! When are you all coming to Sydney?? ;)
xx
On other sad news, I am selling all of Aaron clothing that he has out grown I went nuts in the shops over this little boy and must have bought all of Target...pmsl!
It's another real reminder, although I thank my lucky stars that we have him and there are still so many women who are still waiting on one precious bundle
I came to sydney - and you went to WAGGA! i mean, of all the interesting place you could hide from me - you went to WAGGA! lol
DH has a reunion for an old job in Wagga june long weekend - you going to be there that weekend?? i might be tempted to try and work out a way to go if you are lol
KL - it doesn't matter what path you've walked to get here - i'm sure the pain is much the same. it hurts. it doesn't matter if it's due to LTTTC or because you and your partner have decided with your heads that you're done rather than listening to your heart - your heart is the one that makes you realise what you really want. It is breaking my heart - even moreso because i felt myself pulling away in the days leading up to the meet up, and yesterday morning, i simply couldn't do anything to make myself get organised. it's like me wanting to be at Kyson's birthday - i WANT to go - but i know it will be hard kwim?
damn our hearts and their ability to rule our emotions!
Hey chickies. So sorry to have missed what looks like it was a lovely picnic yesterday. I hope you all had a great time. BG, what a cake!
We went to a birthday party this afternoon and there were MASSES of kids there - it was crazy. Phoebe was happy as long as she was stuffing her face, LOL! They are drinking their milk now, nearly bed time.
Things have been hard in the new place - Phoebe has been waking really early and waking fairly frequently overnight as well. She just wants a cuddle, then she goes back to sleep, so all in all it's probably 5 minutes from when she cries to when I get back into bed. Except it's happening fairly frequently and the broken sleep sucks a bit.
It has been a sad week here, with a lot of sad anniversaries and some illnesses in the family. I am so grateful for my girls atm - they are so precious.
Nic: I am sorry you have been doing it tough :( If you are ever up for another play date we're here :)
Catch you all a bit later - bedtime for the sprogs.
Big hugs to all of you girls who are struggling to deal with no more babies. My sister who has four says you just know when you are done and there is a sense of completeness. It would be really hard to live without a sense of completeness. DH and I have an ongoing arguement about how many kids we want. I want 4 and he wants 2.... I would hate to think that in the end we have to both compromise and neither of us feels satisfied... Being a mum is everything in my world.... Anyway big hugs to you all. I am not having to deal with that set of emotions yet, but I get that sometimes it is good for us as individuals to just walk away from situations that really hurt us constantly.
Wish I could have seen you all at the picnic, I loved the photos!
AFM- well for the last 2 weeks(nearly) J has dropped her day sleep and been going to bed btwn 6 and 7. It has made such a difference for us. She still wakes up on average at about 10pm and 3 and then up for the day at 6 as opposed to waking at 7-8am previously. She has dropped several wake ups over night, which is a relief. She has been really funny about bfing at the moment tho. she had dropped down to about 2 feeds a day when we were in the UK but has increased that all the way up to 6 or more again. Just realised I mentioned that last post
I must go, I am writing applications for two jobs whose applications close tomorrow. So fingers crossed for me that I can get a new job.
xx Bella
I put Kyson to bed just before 8pm tonight. It's now 10.05pm and I can still hear him playing in his cot! He hasn't cried once, but is just singing, making noise and occasionally kicking the wall in his play. Hmmm, I hope this means a sleep in tomorrow morning...
Jacinta, just noticed you asked for an avi in the avi thread, and I'm spewing that Kim beat me to it, lol!
Jemima won't stay in the dark on her own EVER Krystie... she just cries and cries so if she stayes up we stay up... thank god she is going down easily these days
