Don't worry, today has been a struggle. I got that 2500 word case study back today with barely a pass mark. It was for that PE subject I complained about a while back. The comment I got was really insulting as well.
OUCH. Not nice. Although it probably helps to understand it was probably marked by a postgrad student and not a lecturer. My metadata assignment came back with a pass too. I've never before scored lower than a credit so this is all new (and highly fraught) territory for this ex-smartypants.
Nope, not a post grad student - it was definitely the lecturer himself. I can't wait to get the subject surveys we get at the end of the semester so I can tell them exactly what I think of him. I wouldn't be surprised if there were students who failed this time as well.
Yeah, I've got a bit of choice (and very specific) feedback for this subject/lecturer too. I guess the proof is in the pudding and if you're doing well in most of your other subjects that says something about this subject, doesn't it
I'm back. We went down to visit my family for the weekend. Actually, I thought we were there to visit, DH thought we were having a family weekend so I got a couple of rushed hours of seeing people and that will have to do until Christmas time. Not happy.
Sleep was so terrible that DH agreed to the Phernegan. First night on it he woke twice and tried to yell and scream but it only lasted a few minutes. Last night he slept though but we were back home so he might have anyway. A is having it too since she will only sleep when she is attached to someone and you can't escape her - not going to work when DH is away if W wakes.
So last night I managed to sleep for 5 straight hours and I woke at 2am refreshed and ready for the day lol. Couldn't get back to sleep for a couple of hours until I went to resettle A and fell asleep in her bed (naughty - how is she going to learn to sleep by herself if we keep sleeping in there!!)
I am on a bit of a study low atm, my exam coming up is open book so there isn't a lot of motivation to actually learn any of it. The other paper has a good contact course on next month that I was planning to go to but of course it is when DH is away so I will have to miss out (still jealous and bitter lol).
the boys are still sick and i am bored and over it. going to check out a primary school today with olive - it is my plan b school if the closest one to us is unsuitable (haven't checked it out yet). will be interesting to see if we like it. it will also give me a benchmark to judge the other one on. scary to think i'm already worrying about schools!
hi girls
will have to be quick as logging in at (new) work!
Ginger - hope the school visit goes well, do you have to have them on a list early or how does the enrolment work?
oh better go, will bbl.
Just popping in to say hello. DH got called out for Search and Rescue and I am now up to date with Glee so just wasting a bit of time before I go to bed.
Got a bunch of new cloth nappies today which is always nice! And I sold some online and the buyer happened to be the now wife of a guy that DH went to high school with and whom I flatted with in my first year of uni. We had lost contact over the years, but if not for him then DH and I probably wouldn't have met. Small world!!
Hi girls
Arte- wow! What a small world, it really amazes me sometimes. How is all the sleep going?
Mp- with the public primaries you really only need to enroll the year before they start, but with the privates the earlier the better. We're planning on sending them to a public school to start with and then changing them over to private at either year 5 or 7 , we'll make a decision closer to the time.
Yay for getting parcels in the mail! That's amazing that you met up with your flatmate via a nappy sale LOL.
MP sounds like work has got off to a good start LOL.
Well girls, we're pretty glad we spent that money we couldn't afford to visit DH's family last year, his Nanna had a stroke on the weekend and passed away overnight. Such a wonderful lady, the heart of the family, she will be missed terribly, that's for sure.
Hello ladies, I have been lurking a bit lately, sorry. I have also been so busy, two kids is much more work but I love it of course. Getting excited for JM's fast approaching birth, yay! Hope you are all well.
Isadora, so glad you de-lurked LOL. Yeah it gets crazy, Can you remember what ladies of leisure we all were when we were in our preggy buddies thread LOL. Seems like an eternity away.
many hugs to you and DH MD We are coming up to Oma's first whole year away from us...it still feels very weird.
Isa: awesome to hear from you! and yeah, it is a bit busier isnt it??!
Arte: man that is a small world! ooohhh i wish i could get a few more MCNs...
AFM: all good here. *might* have a very exciting work opportunity on the horizon. DH met a woman that used to be the UN commissioner for women and she is looking at starting something here in melbourne that is based on womens rights and campaigning against trafficking of women and girls and well, has asked me to send her an email man, i hope that this could turn into something, especially as i am currently reading "half the sky: how to change the world" (which is all about how empowering and educating women around the world is one of the more effective steps in alleviating world poverty and violence etc....Oprah i think once had the authors on her show). anyway, i am excited but dont want to get my hopes up, but it all does seem like a cool coincidence that i am reading this book and then this lady turns up
