Hi ladies just a really quick post as im waiting for the lady to turn up to do safety check on my house to do family day care. Hopefully not much has to be done and i can get it started shortly
I was just wondering who it was that had the recipe for the smoothie to help with BF and producing more milk. I have a friend who has a little girl 3 weeks younger than Brody and she feels as though shes not making enough milk so i said id get the recipe for her. If possible could someone please send me the recipe?
Thanks girls i hope you and bubbas are all doing well
Ignore my last post, i found the recipe
Had the safety check and it actually turns out theres not too much that needs to be done to the house so hopefully ill be able to start it next year and im really looking forward to it. Brody slept the whole time they were here, hes been asleep since 10.45 and its now 1.30, once again when we were supposed to be somewhere for lunch he decides to have a huge sleep, hehe oh well doesnt matter, im just STARVING!!
Hope everyone is well. It's so nice now the nice weather has hit Melbourne. Although finding something to wear is still hard
BR thank you for your message sorry I haven't got back to you. I don't think nephew is doing very well but still in hospital.
We are still struggling with day sleeps at the moment which I am finding stressful. We went to the pead who suggested that we stretch DS's feeds as he is putting in weight too fast. (I was under the understanding that you can not over feed a bf baby!!!) so yesterday I stretched to 3hrs inbetereen feeds but we only got 15 min of sleep after each feed! Then last night I was up twice. Not usual for night sleep.
Loula, just saw what your paed said- weird. We went to Jack's paed yesterday and I asked if I was feeding him too much, and he said what we've both though- you can't overfeed them! He said that me feeding him when he wants it during the day is probably contributing to him sleeping so well at night... Hmmmm.... I'm not saying either doc is right or wrong, but if you find his advice isn't working for you- go back to what works!!!! A chubby Bubby is a healthy bubby and don't let anyone tell you different- you've got super juice mumma!
So we had Jack's scans on Tuesday and went back to the paed yesterday. Looks like Jack's going to need a brace for his hip. Have any of you guys had experience with these things? We're heading in next week for physio so will talk to the physio about it before we go into westmead to get it all fitted. I really like her and she'll tell me everything I need to know I hope. On the positive, J's head is perfectly normal (DUH!!!!) Apparently it's his genes- NO KIDDING!!! His father's head is huge, he had no hope!
Jack's such a Sir Have-a-chat, as soon as he's comfortable somewhere, he just won't stop! I love it, he's such a happy chappy! Loves a giggle too. He's loving his tummy time too. I'm in love!
Lou I agree with krystals, go back to what you were doing, sounds like he is unsettled because he is hungry.
How are you going with the cloth nappies? Dh wants me to think about using them to save money.
Krystals dd1 was in a dennis brown bar for 4 months and a rhino brace for 2 months. She had severe hip dysplasia in her left side. She had a check up at 3 and her bones are still forming but by age 5 she should be normal. It's better to deal with it know so you can hopefully avoid surgery, and it's easier to dress around the brace in summer. Do you know which one he will be going into? I am happy to answer any questions.
Thanks Black Rose, I really appreciate it! We don't know what kind of brace yet- or if he'll need one, we only got the referral from the paed yesterday to the orthopaedic team. Hopefully we'll see them next week. Agreed, we'll try and sort it out sooner rather than later- until we head into westmead, we're double nappying, a bumper cloth over his disposable. The scan says 'moderate acetabular dysplasia' or somesuch... it's the socket that's shallow, not the femur. Was dd1's hip noticeably dislocating? I feel a bit bad as I've been 'bicycling' his legs for the last 10 weeks! I didn't even know! Bad Mummy!
Haha, boofa heads, everyone calls jack Boofhead! How big was Will's head yesterday? jack's is 43 cms... which is what it was at 6 weeks, I'm glad he's grown into it a bit!
loula - as with the other girls, i haven't heard of babies having too much bf! Babies are smarter than us, they just eat what they need till their bellies are full and nothing's more wholesome than br, and formula. it's not junk food.
krystals - one of the bubs in lakshman's mother's group had braces when she was a baby for her hips. in a year she was running around! don't worry (it's hard not too) but it will be all good.
br - how are you going. is your supply up again?
we are doing ok. githanjali loves smiling and coo-ing and carrying on. she's also blowing bubbles and holding her hands together and grasping the clothes or ours. yesterday i noticed that she's starting to want to roll over. she lifted one shoulder off the floor. lakshman didnt do it till he was 4mths. i think girls do these things quicker.
going to cook some lunch. ihave a well deserved massage at 3pm yeeehah! mil is looking after githanjali so i will enjoy this!!
Krystals dd's was severe her socket hadn't formed either and we would lift her leg to change her and do the bicycle legs too, we felt so guilty. Have sent you a pm on fb with the full story.
Hi girls.. wow, I keep forgetting to come in here and check how you all are. I know I know.. I am slack.. but I am studying again now too, so its hard. I think a lot of us are on Facebook? Just a suggestion, there is a group chat you can do on there, and if you guys want to do it, let me know, and that way its just one less thing to remember. Sorry for being slack, but it just makes it easier for me. Anyone who wants to do it that is on facebook, if you could just send me a message through facebook, then when i have everyone on there that wants to do it, i just send a message to everyone as a group, and thats it, its started and we can start chatting as a group. I totally understand if you cant do it, for anyone out there, but as i am so busy, just having one less thing to think about is just a lot easier, but i also want to keep in touch.
Hi girls, Its not a chat as in instant chat.. its much like this, but a group email type thing. If you just send me a message through facebook, i will add you all, then send a group email type of thing, through the messages, then we all keep in touch that way too, so those of us on facebook can catch up there too, then you guys still chat in here and i pop in when i can, but i check facebook more often, so its just easier, so if you want to do it, just message me through face book, then i add you all, and its just a group message, that we all post on when we want, then we all get to catch up. Hope that makes sense?
