Nai - thanks for reminding me that Alex needs his 1yr shots. Sounds like Miss J is growing really well.

    I'm subscribing too :-D

AFU - took Alex to a pre-school play group today and he loved hanging out with the older kids, although he wanted to run riot and insisted on sucking the pencils - eww. The ladies were lovely and Alex's face was priceless when he went into the sand pit for the first time.

Feeling like we take one step forward and then land right back where we started again.

Who's baby is still waking in the night for a feed or resettle back to sleep? How often?

ETA - Leon!!! Hope you have a fantastic day with him Holly!

Kaz - Oh Oh **put both my hands in the air** Alex sure is waking during the night - Lets see - DH put him to bed about 9pm - Alex woke at 11.30pm, then again at 2am (when I was going to bed) and he's up at 6-7am. He gets breakfast in bed (I lay with him and feed him, while I wake up). He usually wakes sometime between 1.30 and 6am and as I'm sleeping on a matress in his room, I can resettle him pretty quickly, by reassuring him I'm still here - otherwise once he gets his steam up, he takes hours to settle.

    Happy Birthday Leon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaz- DD wakes up ALL THE TIME. We mostly cosleep to get more sleep. If she sleeps for 3hrs in a row it's a good night!! I thought by 1 yr she would be sleeping through, WRONG. Nowhere near it. Usually 3-4 wakeups a night

Last nights effort was: Fed at 7:30pm and into bed - asleep by 8pm (not too bad considering the other night he stayed up partying until nearly 11pm ), fed at 10:30pm, 2am, 2:45am, 5:30am and then he wouldn't go back down so got up with DP. I dozed in 20min bursts until about 7am. Then he went back down at 7:30am for 2 hours but I was awake by then

That's pretty typical. He is still waking 2-3 hourly on average. Not sure how much more of this I can do. We don't co-sleep - tried it earlier but it didn't work for us So I'm up for 10-15mins each feed. Feels like I have a newborn still. Actually I'm pretty sure he slept longer when he was a newborn.

Sounds like a typical night here. I have to either feed or rock DD back to sleep, she doesn't self-settle. DD was a fantastic sleeper as a newborn compared to now! OMG I remember 6hr stretches, BLISS!!

how do you cope on so little sleep (or such broken bits of sleep) Heaven? You've had pretty consistent sleep issues with DD from memory - is it catching up with you now 12 months down the track? Everyone I know IRL has a better (mostly awesome) little sleeper and they don't get it.

Yeah we have had bad sleep from the start. I am so much happier and feel more well rested since I gave up worrying about it and trying to change it. I can't change her so I give up! I go to bed early to get as much sleep as possible. And after the first wake-up she's usually in bed with us so I just have to be semi-awake to feed her. I didn't like cosleeping when she was younger coz it was so uncomfy so I didn't get much sleep. But now she's bigger I'm not worried about her getting squashed or anything, she wouldn't let us do that! So I face away from her all night (she's in the middle) and it's much better, don't even know she's there.

Just had mum here today and she doesn't get it either, all her kids slept through from 4 months, blah blah, not helpful!!!! Oh well, we are raising happy confident babies, it will pay off
