AJP- Sounds like my place, Emily has gunky eyes at the moment. Cleaning them is a nightmare, then I started using drops which are so hard to use. Then I have to use the Fess stuff in her nose so she just screams and screams! Are you using eye drops for Millie?
Meg- We too have days like that, Ash is always getting in Emilys face and when Em is not in the mood for it its so frustrating trying to distract them elsewhre then they both want cuddles. I have to try fit them both round my lap!
Kaz- Hugs, I hope you start feeling more spritely, try do something nice for yourself, you deserve it, spoil yourself with a treat to brighten your day.
Pinny- wish I had some advice. Usually I'm too tired to argue too so I'd prolly leave her there to sleep if it meant she'd go to sleep. Does she have a nightlight or anything in her room? Maybe pick a special one out? Thats all I can think of, helped Ash sleep better at night.
Tarkine- Hope your hubby gets work soon, even if it isn't exactly what he wants.
Ali- went and read yr boohoo thread, your mchn sounds like a moron! Just remember what a great job you are doing. All babies are so different in shapes and sizes which she should know being in that preofession.
I'm wondering when Af will return I been getting funny feelings in my guts like AF and we are down to just 1 BF a day now so thought it'd return soon.
Poor Ash really doesn't seem so well, no more temps but just tired, spends alot day on the couch, poor appetite and coughing, tho she did manage to eat a milky way so not too sick! She's also had bit diarrhea and tummy aches too.
And speaking of hair I so need a haircut, this hair loss thing is driving me nuts. Think if I cut it off less chunks to lose, lol. I remember after all the hair loss with Ash and I had all these whispy bits growing round my head, really noticable when I wore pony tail.
-
shell just using saline and squirting in breastmilk. i hear there is lots of conjuctivitis going around, must be of the viral kind!
-
Tarkine- How's the hair feeling and looking today?
Kaz- Do you think he was still unsetteld from his vax the other day? Hope tomorrow is better for you guys. Wouldnt be surprised if it snowing somewhere over near you tonight. I went outside tonight and the air is freezing!!! The fire sounds nice.
Nai- That is great the J loved the pool. You could be her swim instructor seeming your qualified now! AShlyn is a water baby as well. Think its all these pisces (sp?) however I now she likes her baths on the warmer side so will be interesting to see wat she is like in cool water!
Megie- I dont know how you girls do it with more than one child. I sometimes snap at my dogs if they are under my feet or following me around and then feel really bad after so I can kind of see where you are coming from. I am sure J knows that you love him.
Pinny- Hope you get some sleeping tips for DD. Sorry I cant be of any help. AF started with funny twinges and acheyness in my back so hope yours stays away.
Jols- You sound like me last year. I had 3 colds in a row (lived on codrals-didnt know I was pregnant) and I got conjunctivitis on my birthday! So not nice! I hope all the sickness goes away soon.
Shell- I have a receeding hairline now too!! :o I have all short hairs around my temples, esp the left side! I just washed my hair tonight and when I put the conditioner through it and ran my fingers through I am still getting massive chunks!!! I am over it! When will it stop! My hairline looks shocking! Hope Ash is better soon. She might just have needed a chill out day on the couch. I am sometimes like that. How is your nephew? Any developments? Hope he is okay, poor little guy.
:hello: to everyone else.
AFM- Well we got the treadmill fixed this week and I have been on it each day and also walking more. Also been TRYING to eat more healthy so we will see how we go tomorrow when I weigh myself. :crossfingers: DD is good. She is gettting more and more vocal! So cute. She went to bed at 5:45pm tonight as I could just not keep her awake so I might be in for one of those nights. My friend who has a bub the same age as most of us stayed at Tresillian sleep school last week and has sent me some info of what they told her so I will go and find and post here. They are quite strict about the feeding and sleeping routine but it seems to be working and she had a really really unsettled bubs who cried alot and wouldnt sleep for long periods of time and also has reflux probs. Hopefully the info might help some of us.
Hope you all have a good weekend. :grouphug:

From my friend:
Some stuff I learnt at Karitane:
- 3-4 hourly feeds (roughly 6 a day, 7 or 8 if they are going through a growth spurt)
- Don't feed every two hours as this is snack feeding and they don't get enough of a feed in one go. Only feed every 2 to 2and a half hours if they are going through growth spurt which lasts about 48 hours. Any longer and they are getting into the habbit of snack feeding.
- They should be up for 1 and a half to 2 hours (including feed) and in cot sleeping for 1 and a half to 2 hours. This is for bubs their age. (4mths)
- keep them in the cot for the whole nap time unless getting more and more distressed. Soothe them in the cot the way you would soothe them in your arms. Wrap them so they feel like they are being hugged. Pat them if they like to be patted. If they are fussy they might not want to be touched, you can pat the matress. If they like to be rocked in your arms, rock the cot. You might have to put wheels on the cot if you don't have any. Rocking the cot works REALLY well with Michael so hubby put wheels on. Fantastic!! Even if they don't sleep the whole time in the cot they are still resting in there. Try not to take them out until feed time. You don't have to leave them crying, just soothe them in the cot. Ok, gotta go as the master is crying, but lots more to tell.
Will post more when she sends to me. HTH
-
Ali - Good advice, but just not practical if you have a toddler. I can't stay in the room soothing E when I have J who also needs attention.
Shell - I meant to say that I hope your nephew is ok. I really hope they get some answers soon.
Pinny - i was thinking I would jsut let her stay in your room for the moment if it means you all get some sleep. I know with J, I have been letting the dog sleep on his bed, and he now doesn't feel alone. I don't relly like the dog being on the bed, but hey it works!
-
thanks everyone for the advice on DD & sleep..... still not sure what to do, lewis might have to go in his own room which is at the other end of the house......so many things to consider????
AJP- you poor thing....hope you don't get it.......the breast milk does work well and my DR also has a trick if that doesn't clear it...let me know...
be back to do personals tomorrow going to bed now!!
-
Nai - woot on the swimming.. sounds great.
Kaz - all the best with the hairdying.. I need a haircut desperately - haven't had it cut in 4mths! - I think I've skipped going grey and just got really thin hair, and it was thin to start with . My hair looks like crap at the moment.. I'm thinking about lashing out tomorrow and getting it cut, or else I'll have a go (that should encourage DH to look after bubs for a bit!).
Ali - the hair isn't too bad today - it would help if I didn't have two really hot showers a day and cook it. Ali won't go to sleep without the boobies.. thanks for the advice.. might have to talk with the MCHN to see what she says about it.
AJP - use it whenever my hair feels really dry.
AFM I spent from 2pm to 9.30pm with Alex in my arms today - he didn't want to do anything else and I couldn't put him down coz he just whinged. I managed to get in a bath (maybe 20 minutes) then he was up again until 11.20pm, and he's just gone down.. hopefully for the night. crapola now I feel like I'm doing something I need to change with the daytime routine (hang on we don't have one!).
-
Hi girls - had a very bad night with Alex last night - he just wouldn't settle. I ended up leaving him in his cot, wrapped and I fell into a really deep sleep (I wouldn't have woken if there was a tornado in the house kinda sleep). Don't ask where DH was because he is #1 on my list for how-many-years-would-I-get-if-he-disappeared-list. I think my foot is becoming deformed from kicking his butt to get him to do stuff..
Really tiring not having any backup to give me a rest.. can't ask the MIL or DH.. while they offer its the offering that doesn't actually mean they want to help out, coz I've called on them and they don't do anything except make more work for me to do
Sorry for the selfish ranty post.. just needed to get it off my chest, and now I'm better and goign to have a shower and head to the library before DS gets too much rattier.
-
Nephew is recovering, apparantly he had some rare thing that happens in like 0.04% children, forget what its called but where part of the umbilical from birth has disolved inside the body and ends up in the bowels and in his case caused all that bleeding. Specialist said 2% kids will have it in there bowel but only causes the probs in 0.04%. So yesterday they cut that bit of bowel out and he'll stay in hospital til he is passing poo.
Another crap night here, I'm starting to have a constant headache, Emily is just cat napping alot of the night, I guess my first start would be to get rid of the dummy but so tiring just thinking about all the crying its gonna cause then who knows she still may be unsettled at nights. Besides the dummy replacing she has times in the night where she wakes herself too much and spends an hour squeling.
Tarkine- How did the night go? Yeah splash out, get your hair done.
Ali- Took quite a few months for my hair last time to settle, yeah its like you said whenever I have shower can get chunks out, so bad, last time I seriously thought I was gonna go bald, I can clean the rug and a few days later run my hand across it and get lots hair!
-
Tarkine- we posted same time, big hugs hun, give him to DH for a whole night I reakon, if he is not working at the moment he can help out alot more. It is frustrating tho sometimes with men, they should automatically just say 'here give him to me'. I hope you get some rest, maybe arvo nap?
-
Tarkine- Really that is not on. DH needs to help you out. You had a child TOGETHER, so you need to parent through the good and bad TOGETHER.
Shell - Maybe time to investigate sleep school? They can help ypu get rid of the dummy.
It must have been the night for it. E catnapped from 2 till 5, and had us going in constantly. Pretty tired today. Doesn't help that J is bored and wants to go out. He keeps saying he wants to go to the shops
-
I'll definately consider sleep school if can't do it on my own.
I did manage to get her to sleep this morn by patting, so I;ll try persevere. Don't know what the night will be like tho, patting might end in screaming and wake Ash then I'll have 2 to contend with.
Bored toddler is hard thats when they start playing up.
-
So much to catch up on....
Sorry to hear that a lot of us are having a rough time :(
Megie, thanks for your offer to help, and your mum! I am too shy/embarrassed to actually take your mum up on her offer  Where does she live anyway? Next time you visit her we could catch up :)
Shell, glad to hear your nephew is on the mend. Hope you all are feeling better today.
Sorry I can't remember what else was said...you guys talk too much ;)
AFM, we chose L's portraits the other day. I initially wanted them all on disc and I would get them printed myself but then the lady said is would be $2000+ :o  Ended up getting about 15 prints for $500 and apparently that was discounted for me  They are so sneaky! It's so hard to choose favourites. Anyone know how I could get them onto the computer?? Is it possible? Does scanning ruin them?
L's awake, gotta run! xox
-
Tarkine - if I was closer I would kick your DH's butt for you! Especially now he isn't working he should be more help. However, I have found that many men aren't good at thinking for themselves as to what they can do to help and need specific instructions eg. I need to give DP step by step instructions on how he can help.
Holly - I think you can scan the pics if you have a good quality scanner
Shell - I'm glad to hear your nephew is ok. I know what you mean about not wanting to wake the older child! I would let Miss J try to settle herself a bit more if I wasn't so worried about her waking DD1!
Megie - J must be bored if he wants to go to the shops  although DD1 did ask to go to the supermarket last week
-
:grouphug: think we all need it...
Tarkine- I hear u on the DH side of things I'm so over mine at the moment....seems to very selfish atm & doesn't seem to be as hands on...although after a few remarks from me i think he is slowly getting the picture, he did let me sleep in the past two mornings which is the biggest help of all but it's all the other stuff. I hope your DH starts to come to the party, they can be so annoying at times...Chin up darl!!!!
Holly- the photo's sound great, can't wait to see them, good luck with the scanner.
Shell- yes i agree must of been a full moon or something last night L was a shocker from 4 am onwards thought it was time to play:rolleyes: but he did start the night out ok slept from 9pm till 2.30am, that's fantastic for him.. SO Glad you rnephew is ok, it's amazing that the umbilical cord can cause such a illness....how old did u say he was again??
Meg I think your right about not worrying too much about DD and her sleeping in our room, she does go straight to sleep and does not disturb us, it's just so fustrating as she was an angel all her life before Lewis came along.
Ali- Thanks for sharing the stuff from your friend was an interesting read.
AJP- Hope your feeling ok and didn't get the conjunctivitis....you must be so over sickness.
We have had a lazy day at home......although did send DH down to kmart to do a small Xmas layby, thought it was better to send him with a list so i wouldn't see stuff and add that...trying to be cost effective this year....DD always ends up with way too much and to be honest I HATE TOYS!!! I work in early childhood so you would think I'd be tolerant of them in the house but I can't stand the clutter and I hate all the plastic stuff these days.....
Sleep wishes to us all, think I'm going to have a glass of champagne with dinner, better go I'm starting to drool now!!!
-
Pinny- he is 5 so should recover quite well. I haven't even tried approaching those toy sales, I figure they always have sales sometime in the year so will wait.
Holly- ikwym, I knew when you went to look you'd have that problem! They suck you in. I don't think scanning will ruin them. I do that, scan them onto computer, save onto disc then go to photo places and get copies for family that way doesn't look sus of me copying pics we're not meant to.
Day 1 here of dummy removal. Been up and down, she actually settled within 10mins at bedtime but awake now, just grizzling so not rushing up yet, day sleeps been harder so lets see what the night brings.
Speaking of partners, mine is passed out on the couch, he may as well not be here for all the use he is. I cracked it with him earlier and poured beer over his head.
-
LMAO about you tipping beer on DH's head!!!
-
 shell  id do the same thing! sounds like your doing well with the dummy though
DH did the kmart sale on wednesday night!!
tarkine i hope tonight is a better night
pinny i think all out partners need a swift kick up the arse from time to time!!
nai we spoke at swimming with the managers about getting millie into lessons, she should start in around a months time! cant wait!
sophie asks to go to the shops too
holly glad the photos turned out well!!
arrrhhh cant type much more, too much wine! (albeit two glasses  two pot screamer here )
-
Hi girls,
Looks like it was a bad night for most of us with sleep and men.
I knew I had it coming with Ashlyn going to bed at 5:30am. She slept until 12:30 (7hrs) then up at 2:30 for an hour, then 5am then 7:15am. Last night was the first night that I felt like DP got cross with Ash keeping him awake. He didnt get home from work until 11:45pm and then had to do a 12hour shift today starting at 9am in the city so I kind of dont blame him. He slept in the spare room and yelled out to me "Can you just try and settle her, I need to sleep". I yelled back "I am trying to bleeping settle her, have been for the last hour and I need sleep too". So not a great night for us. Kept her awake tonight until 7pm.
I was thinking of changing her bedtime until later but I dont know how I would get her to stay up for longer.
Megie- how cute that J wanted to go to the shops!
Holly- yep scanning will be fine. We just got the Pixma printer, scanner and copier. I am yet to try out the scanning option.
Shell- PMSL at the beer! I would have loved to have seen that.
Pinny- I have noticed that Kmart now has a range of wooden classic toys. I am thinking of buying them. SO much nicer than all the plastic. Although I did buy DD the FP drum set that makes noises when you hit the top of it. Think it was $25. She loves it.
Tarkine- I hope having the vent helped. It always seems to help me.
Is anyone watching the Haunted Mansion on channel 7? I think it is a kids movie and I am actaully scared! LOL!
-
Hi Ladies!
Finally have internet sorted WOO HOO! Will do my best to catch up...sooooo happy to be back!
Had our first 'good day' today...now for some sleep...
-
Shell - glad to hear that your nephew is ok. at you tipping beer over DH's head.. reminds me of when I was younger and my mum threatened to tip a bucket of water over me to get me out of bed. I still remember the sound of her filling that bucket!
Holly - OMG - those photos were pretty exie.
Pinny - I hear you on the clutter front.. I'm starting to hate clutter. I went mental in the kitchen this morning cleaning it up.
Thanks for the words of support. I did feel better after sharing the crap. Went for a walk today, the actual temperature was 1.7 which was freezing but I needed to get out of the house. Alex was rugged up, with layer upon layer.
-
Just wanted to quickly add how awesome my DH was with Miss E last night. He didn't get home till midnight, then afterr I was up for more than an hour he told me to go back to bed, and he spent half hour with her. (this was at 4am) then he had to get up at 6am to drive my sis to the airport. So I feel very supported. He even came home from work at 9am (as he can bring the ambulance home with his job) and told me to go rest for an hour, so I got another hours snooze in. I would love to be able to lend him out to you all.
Hi Ellie
Ali - Hope you managed to keep her up.
AJP - Great that she will start swimming soon. E will start next year when J moves up a lesson and I don't need to get in with him.
Sleepy vibes all
-
Yay ellie!!
LMAO Shell at the beer - that would have been hilarious!
I just got back from a Hen's night. DP had the 2 girls from 6.30pm and when I left Miss J was asleep. She woke 10 mins after I left. She took a little from the bottle but cried for about an hour so I rushed home at DP's request and she fell asleep 10 mins before I got home  Oh well - I got to eat dinner, play a few games and drink 2 glasses of wine.
-
Meg- woohoo to your DH, sounds like he can come give my Df lessons considering I just had smart ass Df tell me how easy my life was. He's a smart mouth after beers. How has E slept during the day today? Hope you have a better night.
Tarkine- Its great to come in here and be able to get load off your chest isn't it, nice to have the support.
woohoo Ellie I'd be so lost without the net!
Ali- if she goes to sleep at 5:30 could you maybe wake her up say after 30mins, have a cuddle, a bath try drag it out a bit then get her down after 7ish? Emilys day sleeps vary in times so some days she will wake from a sleep at 4 and I know she won't last til 7 so try squeeze in just 30mins I also make that nap in her bouncer downstairs so she does just have cat nap.
AJP- You sound like me, 2 drinks and I'm anyones, lol.
Nai- isn't that always the way! I hope you got to enjoy yourself tho. I haven't had night out for ages, got a 40th party at the end month so looking forward to it.
Well I don't want to mozz myself but Emily is actually sleeping better so far. I know I am going to curse myself saying it but I put her down at 7 each night and she has feed anywhere between 10-10:30 but between those feeds she wakes at least 3 times, tonight once and settled fast and haven't heard her since. I'm starting to think that maybe the dummy dropping out while she was asleep was waking her so if she goes to sleep without it it can't disturb her, so I'm hoping anyways!
-
hey girls
just touching base
everything going good here- havent got anything to complain about here all going fine
surviving the school holidays well this time- doing something all the time and the twins are settled again-phew! Makes so much a diiference when they arnt feral!
boof finally slept through last time -hasnt for ages- slept from 10-6am- whoot on 8 hours! then he fed and fell straight back to sleep till 9am- i chucked him in with me and he then slept till 11am!
Worse part was because i slept from 3am till 11am - i got a migrane!!! GRRR
other than that he is a eating, smiling machine still!
LOL at shell pouring beer over his head- too funny!

-
Well the night was better than I expected. She woke at 10:30 had her bottle only drank half then smiled at me and settled herself back to sleep, slept til 1:30 then crying crying, did a poo changed her then offered rest of the bottle, then I tried settling again, easier knowing she is clean and got milk in her tummy. Think she got to sleep just after 2:30 woke at 5:30, settled by 6:15 and woke at 7:15 for bottle. We chatted in bed for awhile then she went off to sleep again on her own and is still asleep! :o I went back to sleep too, got up at 10 and Df got up with Ash this morn.
So think we are on the right track, yes there is crying but I do stay with her til she settles and she is sleeping longer now instead of cat napping. So this morn I threw the dummies in the bin so not to tempt me, we have been dummy free for 28 hrs!
Only prob now is I don't know in the night if she is crying for the dummy or hunger. She used to spit out dummy and cry if she was hungry, but I guess she was having one feed a night prior I'll give her one feed still.
Det- Hope the migraine settles, they're awful, I had forgotten how bad they were til I got one last week.
-
 well done shell!!!
awesome to hear that the non dummy went soooo well! you should be proud of yourself!!!!!!
woot on the sleep det!!!!!! noice! but not about the headache
-
Shell - That's awesome about Em going so well without the dummy. And I hope your Df apologised later for whatever he did/said that caused him to wear beer!
On the topic of sleeping at night - how many of your bubbas actually go down at 7pm and stay down until the small hours? Jacob has NEVER done this. We are lucky if he is down by 9:30pm and stays down until 1am (this has been the routine for the past month). He is always so unsettled after 7pm. Is it too early to be doing a boob, bath, book, boob, bed (or whatever) routine or is that how you've all got your kids in bed by 7pm????
-
kaz millie has been going down between 6.30 and 7pm since she was around 3 week old, she never really wakes before midnight, at the moment its anywhere from 2-5am before she wants a feed. id just stick with what your doing and as he gets older, just put him to bed 5 mins earlier each night
ETA millie's just gone to sleep for the first time completely unwrapped!!!
-
Yay on the dummy loss Shell!
Kaz - I have been doing the bedtime routine from 6 weeks and Miss J goes down between 6.30-7.30. She has started waking for a quick feed about 10pm and then through to 3am and then 7.30am most nights. She got mucked up a bit with her teeth though so we are just getting back on track.
Our routine is naked, massage & tummy time around 5.30pm, bath at about 6pm, dressed and wrapped ready for feed at about 6.30 and then feed for however long it takes. Put to bed.
-
spoke too soon about the unwrapping  back to one arm in!
missy moo is cranky today
-
thanks girls. we haven't really followed a routine by the clock - we've been trying to follow Jacob's  I'm thinking it might be time to start trying a clock based routine (that's a bit flexible too obviously).
He is usually awake around 7-8pm (or whenever we're trying to have dinner) but then takes a while to go down and usually its only for 40mins and then he is up and wanting to feed again. He has a couple of 40min naps in the evenings actually now that I think about it. Then he usually sleeps from about 9:30pm to 1 or 1:30am then through to around 5am. I guess its a variation of the 10, 2, 6 thing?
Ali - meant to say, thanks for the info re: sleep that you posted.
-
TBH kaz we only go by the clock because we do so for sophie!!
at the same age sophie was going down at 5.45pm and sleeping 12 hours :o
-
Can't complain about the night sleep here...bed around 7pm... but day sleeps are proving a little interesting...30 mins here and there...doing the 'eat play sleep'...just!?@! I guess we just hang on for the ride :)
-
Kaz - Our night routine is a little later than the others, L usually setttles down for the night at around 8.30-9ish as I find he cluster feeds still until then, He usually goes down around 6ish and wakes at 7.30 for a feed, this is when we do the bed,bath/massage,boob routine..I find it works well for us too coz then we get to spend some one on one time with him as DD is in bed at 7.30pm and no longer has a day sleep.
He will then wake around 12ish for a feed or sometimes when we are having a really good night will do a 6 hour block then until around 2.30am...he wakes 4 hourly after that and gets up around 7.30am. During the day he had a routine of feed/play/ sleep and usually does 1.5 to 2 hour sleeps but does do the occasional 40mins when we are out and about..
He is great dring the day so I shouldn't complain about the night too much...but DD was sleeping through at this age so I'm waiting for him to satrt!!!
Shell- Yay on the dummy!!! I might consider doing the same thing coz L only has it during the day, his not interested in it at night. Prefers the boob;) to go to sleep.
AJP- Hope the unwrapping goes well, we have success sometimes but not often.
Det- woot on the 8 hour sleep, there is hope out there for me yet!!! Pity about the migrain though!!!
Meg- Sounds like your DH could give some of the others some tips!!! Do you hire him out for demostrations????
Hi to everyone else.....
-
Kaz- We go by the clock but its flexible. This is Ash's routine
Between 7 and 7:30am- wakes up, feeds and plays on my bed while I watch a bit of Sunrise and play and talk to her as I wake up.
9am (on the dot)- wrapped and back into her cot for a 1 hour sleep (if we arent going anywhere can be 1.5-2hrs)
10:30am- feeds then we are off doing something
12pm- Sleeps normally in the pram or my arms if we are out (45min -1hour) This is her flexible nap.
2pm- feed and back in her cot (I make sure I am home for this one as she needs it or she is grumpy). Sleeps until 4:30-5pm (3hour nap)
5pm- feed
5:15pm- playtime in the jolly jumper as it wears her out.
5:45pm- bathtime - very deep, warm, relaxing
6:15pm- dressed, sing songs while I am getting her ready for bed sometimes a book.
6:30pm- feed
7pm- Sound asleep (self settles)
Most days this is exactly what she does and I didnt get her into this routine, she got me into it. I just started to look for patterns and noticed where they were and it is working although even though she goes down at 6:30-7pm she only sleeps until 12ish then we feed every 2.5-3hours. :o
Hope that helps.
Jols- I put Ash down unwrapped the other day as she fell asleep in my arms and I tucked the blankets in really tight around her body and she slept but only for 45min. Did you manage to avoid the conjunctivitis?
Shell- Well done hun, one night down and probably the toughest night at that.
Det- I cant believe you got a migraine from too much sleep! You poor thing  hope it went away quickly. I cant believe your little man slept that much!!! Do you think its the solids?
Raver- I hope your move goes well. Going to miss you over the next couple of weeks
:hello: to everyone else.
Not much to report here. Ash was a bit of a grizzly bear today! Had her bear ears hat on and her grizzly mood so was quite fitting. Think she was tired though as we were so busy today she didnt get her full sleeps. Had a lovbely chanmpagne BBQ brunch today and then a sunny day by the harbour for cricket this arvo.
-
Oh gosh I am so incredibly jealous of all the sleep routines! No fair!
L has no routine whatsoever...bedtime? What bedtime?!?! No such thing as blocks here. He goes to bed at anytime and if I'm lucky will sleep for 30-45minutes during the day. In fact today he slept for half an hour around 1pm and then slept for 45 minutes at around 4:30pm - that's a good day! I am really running out of things to do with him during the day because he just won't sleep. I literally carry him around and hardly get anything done. He will just cry when I put him down. He won't self settle either, not even patted to sleep, I have to feed him to sleep :( At night I wouldn't have a clue about his sleeps because I have now resorted to having him right next to me on the boob so he is basically just sucking all night and pacifying himself (too bad he doesn't know how to use a dummy!). Keep in mind, I often have to open up his nose just so he can breathe, so I have to have him next to me anyway. He wakes up quite often for nappy changes and for me to swap sides for him to suck on (God knows what this is doing to my supply). ARGHHHHHH help me!!! I figure that once his nose/breathing thing is sorted out then I will try and implement a routine, because it is too hard at the moment.
Sorry, had to vent, I hate to admit it but I get a bit upset reading about all your bubba's routines - I wish we had one :(
On a lighter note, saints won :)
Gotta get L's medicine ready, hopefully he's sleep soon and I can come back for personals! xox

Well the best thing of dummy free Emily is day sleeps have gone from 40mins to 1.5hrs! Woohoo, still little while to settle but getting there she has a little comfort bunny.
Kaz- Emily was similar, waking often til her 10ish feed then having a few hours sleep after that, I'm hoping now that will change, I just try resettle, make Df take turns with me to go up and settle. We have bedtime routine too and try have her down by 7 every night.
Ali- That champagne brunch sounds great, we need some nice sun here to do something nice like that, sounds so relaxing.
Pinny- we are the opposite, Ash didn't sleep thru til she was 1 so any time before then would be great for us.
So excited watching the footy today! GO SAINTS! Lol, like a preview to the grand final with hopefully the same outcome. Had friends over watching, we're all yelling at the tv.

Holly- snap, we posted same time, yay you being a saints supporter too!
Is the medicine helping L? Maybe once all that is sorted and his breathing is ok you might look into sleep school or something? Sounds so hard at the moment, has the nurse come to assess his oxygen levels yet?
