Ali - I saw that part of Getaway. its a small world. Did you know the teacher?

Pinny - the fishcakes were fantastic. Really basic - tinned tuna and mashed potatoes, squished together, bit of flour and then in a frypan.

AFM - I've got mayonnaise in my hair at the moment - my hair conditioner. I call it the smell of summer! I'm such a dag!

Tarkine- yes, she is a very good friend of mine. I went to uni with her and she teaches in the classroom next to me. She deserved it. She has had a pretty rough time so it couldnt have happened to a nicer person. Now you know where I work! PMSL at the mayo in hair. If i did that, my dogs would be trying to eat my hair! LOL

She looked like a lovely person. Where did she end up going? I fell asleep during getaway (opps)..

The mayo is great as a hair conditioner.. I'm tragic I know but its cheap .

    How's everyone travelling?

LOL that is so funny that I've logged on and you girls are talking about homemade hair conditioner! I just bought a hair dye kit yesterday! I haven't dyed my own hair at home in nearly 10 years and always go to the hairdressers but I can't be @rsed atm and don't want to get it cut just yet but hate seeing my regrowth (which is not that obvious to others really but I notice). I might try the mayo thing afterwards though cause those packet dyes really dry my hair out. I have so many more grey hairs since being pg too. Anyone else notice the same thing? I only ever had a couple here and there before.

AFM - Still feeling really blah and flat. Went to mothers group this morning but had to leave early because Jacob lost it (think he was tired, even though he'd only been awake about 80 mins). Also, they all started talking about their births again and I just couldn't join in. Don't want them to think I'm a total nutcase Jacob then cried for almost an hour when we got home and is asleep now. I was supposed to be at a funeral this afternoon (elderly next door neighbour passed away earlier in the week) but I can't bear to wake him up after he was so unsettled.

Thanks for all your kind words about my dog too girls. She is ok atm - she still wants to eat and go for walks so we will just play it by ear.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned with lots of relaxation and sleep It's so cold out there - it's definintely snowing somewhere near me today!

Kaz - I hear you on the grey hair! I never had any before DD1 and now I can see them in my regrowth

I just took the girls to the pool and took Juliette in the water for the first time and she loved it. She was splashing around and even launched herself off my lap so her head went underwater. She looked a bit shocked but then laughed. It was very cute.

Aw Nai that's so cute!! Its great that she's so confident in trying new things. I really hope Jacob is confident and curious etc.

Can't imgaine swimming today though tbh! Was it a heated indoor pool?? It's so cold here today - I have the fire cranked up. I reckon it's about 5 degrees out there! Brrrrrr!!

Nai - Glad she enjoyed the swim,. E still hasn't been. J well and truly had by now, but he was born in the opposite season, so it was warm.

Kaz - I really hope you pick up soon.

Had a queit day at home to day. Just chillaxed with the kids. E didn't really want to sleep much this arvo so had to entertain her a bit, as she just wanted cuddles. I got a little annoyed at J and feel bad about it. I needed him to give me and E some space as she was very upset, and he kept getting in her face. anyway I told him very firmly to go and find something to play with, and he just bawled! I felt guilty as I told him to leave her alone. Then I had them both crying. After I calmed her down, I had a little chat with him and explained why he had to leave E alone, he seemed to understand.

so hoping for a good night tonight. My sis and her BF are staying over, as they need to be at the airport early. (we live much closer than they do) Might go play the wii fit for a while.

AJP- Sounds like my place, Emily has gunky eyes at the moment. Cleaning them is a nightmare, then I started using drops which are so hard to use. Then I have to use the Fess stuff in her nose so she just screams and screams! Are you using eye drops for Millie?

Meg- We too have days like that, Ash is always getting in Emilys face and when Em is not in the mood for it its so frustrating trying to distract them elsewhre then they both want cuddles. I have to try fit them both round my lap!

Kaz- Hugs, I hope you start feeling more spritely, try do something nice for yourself, you deserve it, spoil yourself with a treat to brighten your day.

Pinny- wish I had some advice. Usually I'm too tired to argue too so I'd prolly leave her there to sleep if it meant she'd go to sleep. Does she have a nightlight or anything in her room? Maybe pick a special one out? Thats all I can think of, helped Ash sleep better at night.

Tarkine- Hope your hubby gets work soon, even if it isn't exactly what he wants.

Ali- went and read yr boohoo thread, your mchn sounds like a moron! Just remember what a great job you are doing. All babies are so different in shapes and sizes which she should know being in that preofession.

I'm wondering when Af will return I been getting funny feelings in my guts like AF and we are down to just 1 BF a day now so thought it'd return soon.

Poor Ash really doesn't seem so well, no more temps but just tired, spends alot day on the couch, poor appetite and coughing, tho she did manage to eat a milky way so not too sick! She's also had bit diarrhea and tummy aches too.

And speaking of hair I so need a haircut, this hair loss thing is driving me nuts. Think if I cut it off less chunks to lose, lol. I remember after all the hair loss with Ash and I had all these whispy bits growing round my head, really noticable when I wore pony tail.

Tarkine- How's the hair feeling and looking today?
Kaz- Do you think he was still unsetteld from his vax the other day? Hope tomorrow is better for you guys. Wouldnt be surprised if it snowing somewhere over near you tonight. I went outside tonight and the air is freezing!!! The fire sounds nice.
Nai- That is great the J loved the pool. You could be her swim instructor seeming your qualified now! AShlyn is a water baby as well. Think its all these pisces (sp?) however I now she likes her baths on the warmer side so will be interesting to see wat she is like in cool water!
Megie- I dont know how you girls do it with more than one child. I sometimes snap at my dogs if they are under my feet or following me around and then feel really bad after so I can kind of see where you are coming from. I am sure J knows that you love him.
Pinny- Hope you get some sleeping tips for DD. Sorry I cant be of any help. AF started with funny twinges and acheyness in my back so hope yours stays away.
Jols- You sound like me last year. I had 3 colds in a row (lived on codrals-didnt know I was pregnant) and I got conjunctivitis on my birthday! So not nice! I hope all the sickness goes away soon.
Shell- I have a receeding hairline now too!! I have all short hairs around my temples, esp the left side! I just washed my hair tonight and when I put the conditioner through it and ran my fingers through I am still getting massive chunks!!! I am over it! When will it stop! My hairline looks shocking! Hope Ash is better soon. She might just have needed a chill out day on the couch. I am sometimes like that. How is your nephew? Any developments? Hope he is okay, poor little guy.

    to everyone else.

AFM- Well we got the treadmill fixed this week and I have been on it each day and also walking more. Also been TRYING to eat more healthy so we will see how we go tomorrow when I weigh myself. DD is good. She is gettting more and more vocal! So cute. She went to bed at 5:45pm tonight as I could just not keep her awake so I might be in for one of those nights. My friend who has a bub the same age as most of us stayed at Tresillian sleep school last week and has sent me some info of what they told her so I will go and find and post here. They are quite strict about the feeding and sleeping routine but it seems to be working and she had a really really unsettled bubs who cried alot and wouldnt sleep for long periods of time and also has reflux probs. Hopefully the info might help some of us.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

    From my friend:

Some stuff I learnt at Karitane:
    - 3-4 hourly feeds (roughly 6 a day, 7 or 8 if they are going through a growth spurt)
    - Don't feed every two hours as this is snack feeding and they don't get enough of a feed in one go. Only feed every 2 to 2and a half hours if they are going through growth spurt which lasts about 48 hours. Any longer and they are getting into the habbit of snack feeding.
    - They should be up for 1 and a half to 2 hours (including feed) and in cot sleeping for 1 and a half to 2 hours. This is for bubs their age. (4mths)
    - keep them in the cot for the whole nap time unless getting more and more distressed. Soothe them in the cot the way you would soothe them in your arms. Wrap them so they feel like they are being hugged. Pat them if they like to be patted. If they are fussy they might not want to be touched, you can pat the matress. If they like to be rocked in your arms, rock the cot. You might have to put wheels on the cot if you don't have any. Rocking the cot works REALLY well with Michael so hubby put wheels on. Fantastic!! Even if they don't sleep the whole time in the cot they are still resting in there. Try not to take them out until feed time. You don't have to leave them crying, just soothe them in the cot. Ok, gotta go as the master is crying, but lots more to tell.

Will post more when she sends to me. HTH

Ali - Good advice, but just not practical if you have a toddler. I can't stay in the room soothing E when I have J who also needs attention.

Shell - I meant to say that I hope your nephew is ok. I really hope they get some answers soon.
Pinny - i was thinking I would jsut let her stay in your room for the moment if it means you all get some sleep. I know with J, I have been letting the dog sleep on his bed, and he now doesn't feel alone. I don't relly like the dog being on the bed, but hey it works!
