Im here! Didnt realise there was a new thread oops!
We're ok here. Still having breastfeeing battles but what can you do?
I have overcome one of most nasty habbits too. Biting my nails! I haven't touched them for 11 days and they are growing nicely! Woo! Only thing is they feel funny when i type lol.
Moose: That's great that Sammy's going so many feeds without spewing! And fantastic that she'd gained 60g in that short amount of time! It must be a bit frustrating not knowing what's wrong. I hope you get some answers, or at least some reassurance, from the paed appointment . Oh, and well done on catching that pee !
Blip: That's good that you had a talk with your DH about all the hospital stuff. It's good that he knows how you feel - it might help you to feel better just getting it off your chest to a person face-to-face. That's great that your LC is happy to talk about it too. I should really practice what I preach here ... I have a lot of unresolved issues and emotions surrounding my c/s and I haven't talked to anyone (not even my DH) about it IRL. I think I'm going to have to though, cause they seem to be building up a bit just recently. I find myself lying in bed at night wide awake going over and over everything.
I'm not complaining - just thinking aloud. It's really nothing compared to what you've gone through though Blip! You should write that letter - one to get it off your chest, and two - well, simply because it sounds like pretty shocking treatment!
I'm definitely going to aim for a VBAC next time - I so, so want to experience child birth!
Jords: Woot about the pram! Have you been out with it yet? How are you and Winter?
Antheia: Well done on not chewing your nails! Bad habits are really hard to conquer, so you've done a good job there! And a big "awwww" about Orson laughing! Isn't it the most gorgeous sound in the world!
AFM: Had a pretty quiet day. Oliver's been pretty sleepy, but couldn't sleep cause I had to go into the bank to sign more papers to do with the house. He just can't seem to sleep when we're out and about - I guess there is just far too much to look at! Then, cause he was so tired he cried in the car most of the way home! I hate it when it happens - when we get home he has tears streaming down his face. Then I pick him up and the crying dies down to a whimper... poor bub .
Sterla- Dosn't it just make you want to cry when they do that sad little sob with tears on their face?? It breaks my heart just thinking about it!
You should definately talk to someone IRL about how your feeling about your c/s... maybe your local midwives would know of support groups? I dont really know what to say except we are here for you! Although talking to someone who knows exactly how you feel is different...
Winter is exactly the same when we leave the house she is always so interested in everything else to go to sleep even if she is SO tired!! We havnt been out in the new pram yet, cleaned the house today but i cant wait to run peoples feet over in this one!
oh crap Winter has awoken ill be back in a bit to finish this post
moose: WOOO glad to hear about the 60g in waight gain! always a plus when that happens. my LC said that they have a growth spert right around now - so she wont gain so much but grow!
anthiea : Aww...YAY for orson laughing. and for not biteing your nails! maybe i should try it haha...im s shocker...
jords - haha bout running people over. thats half then fun! in an evil kinda way
Sterla - if you ever want to talk im happy to listen, i know im over the salty brine but something is better then nothing. you can always email me (or any one else at tehmason(at)gmail.com) or if you want some one to talk to i may even be able to call you? i think when it comes go dealing with things we all find what others may walk though we army crawl and what others army crawl though we walk though. i understand what you're going though with laying awake at night thinking about it - i do the same about lots of things. but you know something? what happend happend for a reson. i keep telling myself that. and under no sercomstance have you done the wrong thing. i suggest you write a letter too, sometimes people need to be shown the mistakes they've made. maybe talk to your DH about it. hell even cry - i know i did *alot* of that yesterday. tomorrow i may cry over it again, but i may not. you've held your self together better then i would have done. Daz has had meany issues but its not the same as what you went though - no skin to skin makes me want to beat your midwife with a sign over and over again. like i said if you need some one to talk to...im hear to listen, i know its not much...but its there if you need it.
AFM: went to the LC today. she wasnt my normal one who asked "do you really need the motilum" YES I DO! she gave me some paper work to show my GP, from the RWH melb explaining how/why its used i also got Darren to attach for a whole 60seconds! then he pulled away...but i almost cried i was so happy! then he had a good EMB feed (the first in a few days!) but i didnt put thickner in it so it came back up , opps...but he didnt really need it. he would have been fine had he not have had to move! after the LC appt. i went to another room and le LC i had said "well dispite everything you've been though you're still trying...your an inperation and i may, if you dont mind use to as an example to others" and i said "dont just use me, you guys got me this far, with out the support he'd be a formular fed baby...its your work too that got him this far"
agh i think A/F is back...again! last time it lasted a whole 48hrs...i hope this is the 'real deal' and i can get it over and done with! (...ey that maybe why daz didnt want EMB yesterday!)
Hope you're all having a good day!
Hey Im back
Oh my goodness Winter is in a right mood, think she is overtired. DP is singing to her and trying to chill her out.
Antheia- Oh how sweet Orson is laughing! WInter laughed for only the second time this afternoon, Its the most sweetest sound ever I reckon
Well done not chomping on your nails too, Its a hard habit to kick I know but your hands will look so much nicer.
Blip- Thats awesome you had a good day with the LC, Go little Darren attatching for so long! You definately must be stubborn for persisting with BF, good on you!
Moose- 60g is a kick ass effort! Hopefully Sammy keeps it up esp with the non-spewing Oh you never said what your suprise was the other day?(If you want to share?)
Everything is good here- we have the sleep clinic tommorrow, the ladies I spoke to on the phone seemed really nice but after hearing all of your girl's stories Im a bit nervous... I hope I dont get too much of a grilling on sleep,feed,play.... our routine goes more like sleep, feed, play, feed, sleep, feed etc
Then guess what? Thursday we are going to a Mothers group! It only started last week so Ive missed one meeting but the Midwife said it wouldnt be a big issue, hopefully it goes well...
jords - dont worry about the sleep, feed play sleep caper. i find feeding darren to sleep is a comfort and tell 'em your co-sleeping thus have no control over it! haha...you'll be fine. just go in with an open mind, if you dont feel it'll work just smile and nod and trust your instinct!
Jords: How did sleep clinic go? I hope it went well.
Blip: Thanks for your support and offer to talk, etc. I'll let you know if I decide to take you up on it one day . That's fantastic that you got Daz to attach!!!
How is everyone else doing?
Well, I have a monster pile of washing to fold, so I might get a start on it while Oliver is sleeping.
Hey Girls,
Bah.. the sleep clinic was ok. We went through tired signs and knowing how to recognise them so you can.... put Baby down awake. ARGH. Ive tried and tried but she cries and cries. We need a miracle. Its just so hard I know its going to take days maybe weeks of peserverence but she just gets so overtired. Apart from that the midwife was lovely, turns out I was the only one who turned up so it was more one-on-one and she was a LC as well so she watched me feed and we had a chat ... she said DP and I were doing everything brilliantly except to get her to self settle I should definately stop feeding to sleep. Got Winter weighed and measured and the fatty is 6.7kg!
First day out in the new pram, its like selling your ****ty mazda and getting a bmw! Sooo good! Much more easy to manouver. Of course I still managed to catch a few doorway edges
Hows everyone else and Bubba's?
Antheia- your new ticker is gorgeous!!!
Hope everyone is good
Just another quick one for me today as Dh is home and we are having family time. Sammy has gained 130gr since Monday morning, so we are SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!! We canned the paed appointment to save us some $$,. she has pretty much maybe one small spew a day now and I am thinking she just got a small tummy and is getting rid of the extra. Her urine test came back all clean as well!! So happy days at our house tonight! We are going out for pizza and beer ( & soft drinks) to celebrate tonight
Jords: self settling DOES get easier I promise. Sammy is quite good at it now apart from going to bed at night ( a whole other story!)but the window is soooo small, the minute you see tired signs, put her to bed, she'll whinge for a bit and most likely settle but some bubs just don't, just go with your guts, it usually works because MUMMY KNOWS BEST!!!
Also, am also very excited about my very first mothrs day and have not gotten my surprise yet, its for mothers day!! can't wiat to see it! Hope you all get spoiled rotten!!
That's fantastic news about Sammy! Such a relief for you too . How exciting about your surprise Moose! I'm looking forward to it - not sure what I'm getting... I haven't caught Oliver sneaking off to the shops or anything, lol.
Hey Mummies,
How is everyone?
That is great to hear Sammy is keeping up with the digestion!
Well done Antheia to still be persisting with BF
Ah yes, Winter has just woken up. Self-settling is going brilliantly... NOT!!!!!!
