Hi girls .. just a quick one, was someone in here posting about babies bottles and changing from avent to something else?? A girlfriend is looking to buy new bottles and I was telling her not to get avent as we are having so much trouble with them this time leaking etc. I remember reading someone posting that since changing from avent that bubs is much happier but can't remember where I read it?
My sister had the same problem with Avent, we discovered it was because she was over tightening them, she had to tighten them and then back them off a notch and they stopped leaking.

But I do recommend Pigeon. When we started Amelia on bottles of ebm at 3mth I had all Avent stuff, she would scream at them, so we tried Tommee Tippee closer to nature, Mam, and the cheap happy baby (luckily I borrow them all) and she screamed at them all, wasnt until I saw my lc/mch that she told me to try Pigeon. It took one go and she was fine with bottles from then on in. Apparently they are usually recommended by alot of lc's. Pigeon teats also fit in Avent bottles, you just have to be careful that if they suck to hard and fast the teat can pop back in.

Thanks for the info on bottles girls, a friend is close to having third bubs and was asking about bottles ... I didn't give a great feedback on avent but after your tip Study I will back off on the tightening and see what happens! I have used them for the girls and never found them as bad as they are now!

Hope everyone is well, it is late and we have had visitors that have just left. Better get to bed before Luka decides it is up time!

K1 - Hope he is doing better now. Both mine would do this in the evening if they were overtired or overstimulated, they would thrash and squeel during their last feed before crashing for bed. Chloe has finally gotten used to wind, she farts like a tropper and it makes me laugh cause she even lifts one leg and pulls the sideways grunt smile

Smithy - I got Amelia's ears done for her first bday, they did them both at once, she screamed the shop down, it made me feel horrible, but like 30 seconds later she saw something that interested her and was like 'ooohhh' and off. She has never been bothered by them since, calls them her pretty ears.

Cole - How exciting, I loved doing my nursery up, we rent so I have become very tactful in using 3M hooks, even hung curtain rails with them. Amelia's new big girl room is almost ready, will post when I have finished. I just lover decorating and hunting for a bargain.

Gabber - Good to hear things are looking up. It gets so much easier, promise. You have done really well so far with all that has happened.

AFM, my AF after Amelia I thought was amazing, I got bad ones before and it was nothing in comparison after, ever since it has always been light and pain free. Chloe will be 3 months on Thursday and Amelia is turning 2 on Friday Just having family around for dinner, no big party this year. Time has flown, it feels like it was only yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital and now she is not my baby anymore she is growing up.

Chloe has decided to change routines again , typical, just as you think you getting it sorted completely, they go hehehe cop this She is actually crashing at 7.30 now instead of 10.30, dream feeding herself at 10.30 and was sleeping till 5.30 or so, and then sleeping till 8 instead of 10. But last couple of days, she has been feeding like a piggy, guessing growth spurt, so up at 2am as well, and constantly all day.

Spent the night away from both my babies on Sunday, DF took me away down the coast for the night, had a great time away but couldnt wait to get home and get cuddles. Chloe did really well, she stayed at my sister's and took all her bottles well and slept all night for her and just as I thought, she really isnt that much of a piggy, it was mainly 100ml bottles, with one 150ml and one 240ml, which I sort of knew which feeds she had alot and which ones she had little, now I know how much she sort of takes. Going to get the chubba weighed today and my petite Amelia. Funny how my 2 are so different in size at the same age, Chloe has a whole 2 months on Amelia.

Hi girls .. it has been quiet in here, hope everyone is doing ok? All ok here, we have tried MAM bottles for Luka and that seemed to work. We have also tried not tightening the AVENT bottles as much but they are still leaking. I am thinking about emailing the company. I am really disappointed that we spent good money on new ones for Luka and we are having such a hard time with them!

Not much is really new in my world. Study I hear you talking about AF's ... I got my first since Luka on Friday, worst ever. Mine have gotten worse with every birth and this one was so bad I have been wearing maternity pads and even had to come home from shopping on Saturday after flooding . Hopefully they get better from here on in.

Luka is getting heaps cute not, chatty and smiling at everyone and everything. He also gets really excited when he get changed as there is a mobile above him. The arms and legs and smiles go so fast, so cute.

Girls are going well as well, naughty, but I guess I just need to look at it that they have SPIRIT. They have their good moments as well, so it is not all bad.

We better go, need to pop to the shops. My parents are coming to town tonight and fly out for VIETNAM tomorrow night. WOuldn't that be nice?!

Hope you are all well x

    Hi all,

We're pretty settled here so of course I need to stuff everything up trying to go back to uni. This means readying V for part-time day care which means introducing bottles for the first time. I hope he doesn't hate them like dummies.

Currently trying to get a good pump on ebay, wish me luck.

    Hi Ladies,

    Hope everyone is doing well

Kaz- Good work on the bottles, I had such a hard time finding the right bottles for jayde (ended up with dr browns) especially with all her feeding problems. How is little Luka? I can only imagine the pain with ur AF's mine were SO terrible and I have only had one child (apparently they get worse with all the babies you have)

Its so lovely to see them all growing up.

AFM - Jayde is doing her own thing - she kinda has a routine at least I try and stick to it. The paeditrican said that she probably wont be able to sleep right through until she starts solids because of her refulx. Although she is only waking at around 3ish and drinking and going right back to sleep. I have tried feeding her at 10.30 but she is still waking. I am also putting bigger nappies on her of a night to try and stop her waking cause of a wet nappy...so far so good

I have been doing naughty things and spending money on ebay. I have found such lovely things for such cheap prices and concidering she will be almost one come christmas I am thinking of putting them in boxes for her to open (as the opening part will be the MOST fun part) and that way she will have heaps of boxes to open come christmas.

I am doing well, finally settling into doing all my mummy things alone. I do have such great support and its such a blessing.

Hi to all the other lovely mums as well xox

Well Kaleb is still having a hard time he fusses so much at feeding time im always in tears, last week he got horrible nappy rash and started pooing blood! off to the docs to get tests done and they found he has a milk allergy he has had all the syptoms of a milk allergy from birth but my doc & pead took till now to figure it out.

He is now on neocate and seems to be feeding better after only tow day and his poor bum is not bleeding anymore.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. This new site is so different I cant even find the smilies.

Kaz - you should sell your bottles on ebay, I sold all my Avent stuff and got decent money for it when Amelia decided she wouldnt drink from them.

Liminal - I plan on rocking the boat by going back to uni in July as well. Chloe is taking bottles well atm so I am keeping the regular one up to hopefully keep it that way. I find I am so lazy when it comes to expressing, its to easy to just feed her so I go out for lunch or something and get Andrew to do it, then I have to express. I love my Medela Swing which I got on ebay to real cheap, best pump I have used so far.

Cole - Ebay is soooo dangerous, I love hunting for a bargain to, got quite a few good toys cheap when Amelia was a baby and saved a fortune. Dream feeds have never really worked for me either, its like my kids didnt realise they were fed. Jadye is doing good though sleeping well at night even with the reflux.

Gabber - poor little man, it good though that its clearing up fast, they bounce back quickly, was it a cows milk protein allergy? Amelia was combination lactose and dairy intolerant from 7mths, after I stopped bf she got gastro, tried lactose free formula for awhile but she still wasnt 100% so went on Soy and she got better, then at 14mths we trialled her back on dairy and she had healed well enough to tolerate it now. Hopefully he will stop fussing for you soon cause he will eventually work out it no longer upsets his belly.

We are all going well here. Chloe is a booby monster as usual, she's now 6.5kg and 63cm and that was 2 weeks ago, so who knows what she is now, she flaps around like you wouldnt believe, she does 180's on the ground cause she is such a sticky beak, she's learning to touch and grab and oh my lordy has she found her voice, its kinda of irritating cause she sounds like she is whinging but she is just learning her vocals. Little champ sleeps from 10 till 10 and only wakes at 5 for a feed, yeah for me. Her big sis on the other hand is almost ready to drop day naps, she still cant make it through without being feral by the night but if she does sleep, even only for half an hour she is up till almost 10, like right now grrrrrr, so I am stuck as to what to do.

Well I hope everyone else is doing well and enjoyed your mothers days and all got spoilt.

Study - we are back to using Avent with a no 1 teat and he seems to be feeding heaps better. What no teats are everyone else on? I have had issues with all three of my kids with the flow of teats, they all seem to like them slower! This only become evident with Luka when we use the Mam bottle with a no 1 teat, so we tried it with Avent and yep, all is good. He is polishing off a 180-200ml bottle, no stopping, just gets on with the job!

Liminal - did you get a breast pump? We have a medela that I am intending to sell but just have not got around to it. Not even sure what they are going for these days? Ours is electric, is pretty good.

Gabber - ouch poor bubby and poor you! I am glad they have worked out bubbies issue.

Colestar - how is life going? Have not got to chat much lately, has your dh had a change of heart?

Smithy - how are you? Long time no hear from!

Pretty quiet here. One thing, we have been having a few issues with Luka waking up from a sound sleeping screaming! He also constantly has pretty runny pooh and it is normally green, which to me would suggest an upset tummy. Someone mentioned to me maybe he suffers from colic, but then because he is great at bringing wind up and popping off they said maybe not. Any ideas?

I didn't yet. If you're interested in selling yours to me send me a PM? (I don't think I can send them yet, not enough posts.) You could look at ebay for an idea of the prices, maybe. Thanks!

Hi Kaz, when on formula poo's can be a different colour depending on the formula, but generally are green for most bubs. IME Karicare was orange and S26 was green. It can be an indication of excess iron and minerals in the system that are just getting flushed out. How runny are his poo's? its good to have a smooth creamy consistency, its easier to pass and causes less problems, to hard can cause them to be uncomfortable and as long as it is not a frothy green liquid or diarrhea, it should be okay. Both my bub have woken screaming occasionally, really not sure why but it seems to happen in the end of a sleep cycle when they are stirring through REM sleep, I always try to settle them back to sleep to teach them to sleep through the cycles. I dont think they are in pain or anything just seem ****ed at waking.

    OK Liminal will PM you!

Study - all my kids have been karicare kids, but never had this issue of the pooing with the girls. It is not pasty but more runny, sometimes more like a gastro poo. So not sure what the go is?

Could be a virus or gastro or something. Chloe just went through a patch of green no 2's, which for bf can mean so many different things, so I started block feeding to see if its lactose overload, cause she has ripper gas as well but I also know a bug has gone around some of my family so just have to wait and see? When Amelia got gastro at 7mths she has green runny poo but it absolutely stank feral to, she was on karicare by then to and then she ended up dairy intolerant Her poo got so bad it was just liquid with green bits and jelly in it, gross I know

Hey girls, sorry I haven't posted in a while.. Vaeda has been doing really well; we have a 4 month check up next week, can't wait to see how much she's grown. I'm sure it's a lot since she's been outgrowing so many of her clothes. She is supertall. She has been enjoying ABC, but still not taking a bottle. TBH I enjoy taking a break from work to go feed her.

On the poo front, she used to do 3-4 a day but is starting to cut back. She went 3 whole days without pooping, that was weird! She's started completely emptying my breasts at most feeds now so I think she's starting to get a lot hungrier, gearing up for solids no doubt.

Looks like we have all been a bit busy lately ... I think I get on facebook to do a quick check and post and forget about everything else at the moment! We have all been sick this week, which hasn't helped, but I am finding that Luka is needing more attention now and with him as well as the girls I am getting stretched thin

We had our 4 month check up yesterday, my DH took bubs as I was sick. All went well, he is 8.055kgs and 64.5cms long so he is doing well and in proportion. His head is still flat on one side as he favours it, so we have to keep trying to turn him the other side. He goes straight back to his right side, it is a hard thing to change. Never had the girls have a favourite side, but we are finding lots of things different this time around.

Thinking we are finished with our 3, we have talked about having a 4th a lot but we have pretty much come to the decision that for the kids and what we can give them in life 3 is a good number! In saying that though, if we get to a couple of years down the track and the desire is still strong we might revisit it!

    How are you all?

Has anyone, besides Smithy started solids? Our nurse said that we should start Luka, but he is not showing any of the classic signs of being ready. We will hold him off a bit longer I think. Funny when I had Mia it was strictly 6 months and now they are encouraging it at 4. Times or maybe it is just the nurses are all different!

Better go and get my munchkins some lunch, hope to hear news from you all soon x
