Using Huggies here too, but I've just recently purchased some bambooty MCN's that we'll be using for daytime when we move into our new place.
were huggies too the only thing i dont like about them is infant dont come in boxes and im not ready to have her in crawlers yet(makes her seam to old) ive tried pampers id use them again but no need at the moment...i got Lucys huggies toddler on clearence for 25dollars a box(old box without the 9extra)
so we have bulk
Using Huggies here too, but I've just recently purchased some bambooty MCN's that we'll be using for daytime when we move into our new place.
We use cloth most of the time, not a fan of huggies way over priced for what they are. Aldi nappies are good at about this age the newborns were a tad big when seb was little. Otherwise i just brought some cheapy pampers ones as they were $8 for when i cbf with cloth lol and overnight sometimes as well. So far they hold a fair bit.
Minny, I wouldn't mind twins... providing that they're as well behaved as Jackson is XD He's so cruisey, i've been spoilt.
Lately his sleeping routine is getting further and further between wakeups. Last night he slept solid from 7.30 til 8. See, I'm spoilt XD He's started to suck his thumb, so last night I left him unswaddled so he'd be able to get to it, which i think contributed to the extra long sleep... not that I'm complaining!
With floor time, I'm afraid to admit Jackson gets a fair bit - (Just gotta watch out for the dog! He's pretty good tho, he'll check a room out now before he goes bounding in) - He'll have most (aka, all of them...) of his naps during the day on the floor on his belly (naughty I know, but he loves it, and sleeping on your back all the time would suck) usually after he wakes up he'll have a kick around then squawk to tell me he's all done ^^; He's getting pretty good with his head, he can hold his weight on both arms and get part of his chest off the ground now, when we carry him we usually hold him upright (he HATES being cradled like a baby because then he might miss something, you know) and he has quite good head control until he gets excited then it gets a bit out of control! We call him our little prairie dog, that's what he looks like when he pops his little head up
Nappies, we use huggies and cloth. Have to say that my cloth dream is slightly shattered as I don't have enough, only ten, and not enough $$ now to stock up on more. But, huggies are going good, I've never tried anything else tho...
Wow Teagz, your little one is doing so good!! lol at the praire dog![]()
I've really got to get Austin onto some more tummy time![]()
Teagz - Caroline sleeps practically on her tummy all the time. she starts on her side (HATES sleeping on her back) and ends up on her tummy. My son was the same. Her neck control is pretty good though and she does the prairie dog thing too and HATES to be cradled, has to be held upwards. My nosey little parker hehe
Howdy ladies... seems we all have little sticky beaks.
Z loves her tummy time and so far A leaves her alone or comes up gives her a tickle or a kiss and runs away, i think she is still a little smaller so isn't so fussed about trying to pick up a baby nearly 3/4 her size... lol
Z also has quite good neck control and LOVES to be upright, not a fan of leaning back for cuddles etc.
I use ALDI nappies for both of the girls, used huggies at the start with Z as i found they were the best for newborn but now she's in the Aldi brand.
We are still getting runs of 6-8hrs out of Z over night but in saying that she feeds between 7 & 8 generally and then does that block, if i could get her to feed a little later it would be PERFECT, oh well she will do it in her own time.
She's just like A though and no matter what time she feeds in the morning (3,4,5 etc) she will generally still wake for the day around 7 - 7:30 and want a feed, so even on the off chance A isn't awake by then (not often) i can't get a sleep in.
I can't believe she's 3 MONTHS tomorrow...
Hope your all well...
Sounds exactly like Jackson! I'd probably sleep him on his tummy too because he gets alot of stubborn wind sometimes and a bit of reflux, but I'm just a little apprehensive, so I just make sure I burp him extra good but he sleeps good at night on his back - we've jacked one end of his cot up to help a bit...does love his tummy time tho!
I enrolled him into swimming lessons today to start in 2 weeks - for when he'll be three months, how sad, my little man is growing too quick! I'm so excited tho, hopefully he is too! He loves his baths, and a shower so it should be fun. My parents have a pool so thought I might teach water safety and confidence early... I'm probably a bit ahead of myself but never mind, but you get that, it'll be some fun![]()
oh so jelous of all your sleepy bubbas lol i cant wait until we are down to just 1 night feed. I do enjoy the nights feeds but 1 would be great instead of 2 or 3 lol
Hi Everyone!
Happy Easter, hope that you and your families have a safe and happy time.
We're all doing much better now. It's two weeks exactly since I had surgery, and apart from keeping our walks to a minimum, it's OK. Oh, and waking up in the morning, I'm soooo sore, especially the belly button cut, and I think that's just b/c of trying to sleep on my side. Four new scars to add to the c-section smile, but the outcome is one absolutely beautiful baby.
Darcey is pure joy. I pinch myself everyday, to think how lucky I am to be a mother, and to be blessed with such a sweet, and easy to manage baby. Sleep during the nights is going really well. We've just changed sleep time to approximately 7.30pm each night now, and we're getting 8 or 9, sometimes 10 to 11 hours sleep, and with no nighttime feed in between. The boobs are absolutely aching in the morning, but I've been expressing one boob, and letting her have the other in the morning. Starting to build up a bit of supply in the freezer. Having been caught out just two weeks ago, I don't ever want to be in that situation again. I was a little hesitant about expressing, (even though the pump has been there since Darcey was 1 week old), but now, I think it is fine, quite easy.
It's my birthday on Tuesday, and I'm going to leave Darcey at home with my sister for a couple of hours. She will give her last feed using expressed milk, and settle her to sleep.
I'm not feeling anxious per se, it's just that I don't want Darcey to get upset or be unsettled - it just won't be me doing it, and Darcey may not take to my sister giving it her best.
Nappies - we've been using the Huggies newborn, but she's outgrown them, now using the Babylove newborn. Both brands are quite OK. We were given a few samples of the Woolworths select brand of nappy - don't go there, they are not very good. I bought a whole lot of Baby Beehinds bamboo nappies (AIO and the other, everyday type), but have not been able to use them (yet) as Darcey is just way too small to use them. I'm debating if I should purchase some of the smaller sized nappies, perhaps a different cloth nappy brand?
For the cloth nappy users - how are you finding them for absorbency, fit around the legs etc, and fitting under clothes? Have you tried many brands or styles? What about at night time?
Anyway, got an early morning start tomorrow, we're off to Oakbank, and have to meet at some ungodly hour. I really don't want to go, but my DH is being stubborn and obstinate and wants to drag me there kicking and screaming. Oh the joys of marriage.
Take Care,
Petal
Hey everyone.. hope you all had a wonderful Easter.. the first of many for our lil ones.
We had a ball, went out to the house yeasterday and showed DP's sis around, did an easter egg hunt for our niece and Ava, it was Ava's first and it didn't take long for her to figure out the eggs go in her bag, it also didn't take long at the end for her to figure out how to OPEN the hollow eggs
Easter bunny bought Zara a giant bunny teddy, some bunny ears and a book, he got Ava a torch with 4 little eggs, a book and some bunny ears.
I don't like Ava having a lot of choc so we didn't get her much but family did, have kept it in the fridge and DP and i will help ourselves and she can have some every now and then.

Hey everyone, sorry to disappear for so long again. Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous post, we havent had anymore chunks in the vomit so that is good. Actually until 2 days ago she was hardly vomiting at all but yesterday and today she has done a few so not sure what that is all about. Also she is becoming really, really, really fussy with her bottle and wont drink much at a time. I try and get her to take more but she pushes it out with her tongue and if i try and stick it back in, she sometimes starts screaming, other times if i perserve and keep putting it back in she will eventually have a big drink, its really weird. So far today she has only had three small feeds, 60mls at 8am, 10am and then 10.30 I managed to get her to have another 60mls. The problem is if she doesnt drink enough in the day she ends up waking at 3am whereas before we did have her going from 11pm to 5am/6am without a feed. She is also getting tired really easily now, before she could happily go at least an hour and half before getting grizzly but sometimes now she is crying after only an hour but the problem is just because she is tired doesnt mean she will go to sleep. But having said all that we are getting into a bit of a routine now. I usally take her for a walk in the morning for about 45mins so she will sleep then at lunch time I try and get her to sleep for 2.5hrs which she was getting good at but this week has started waking after an hour and i have to go and resettle her sometimes she will go back down but other days she just wont, then in the afternoon we go for another walk of about half an hour.
Has anyone else felt the effects of daylight savings with the babies? I was finding that Maddie was getting really really tired by 6pm whereas before she was going to 7pm although last night she lasted till 6:45 so hopefully we are getting into it. I would really love her to sleep from 7pm to 7am (not without a feed of course cause i realise she cant go that long) but she tends to wake at 5am or 6am and i have trouble getting her back to sleep.
She has also become very volatile this last week, one minute she is happy and smiling and cooing and then its like a switch goes in her head and she is hysterical crying. I cant figure out what it is that is flipping her out.
Sorry for the selfish post but better go as she will be waking up very soon and I havent really done anything I was going to do while she napped today....lol....story of my life really
Cant believe our bubbas have now graduated from newborn to infant, time really does go so fast.
Hope everyone is well.
xx
Hi all,
Firstly, Way to go Jackson - great stats!
Trace, maybe it's what they call a 'wonder week'? It was explained to us that there are a number of weeks throughout babies development (week 5,12, 16 etc) where baby is developing some internal bits and pieces, and is a lot more unsettled than usual. Can be off their food, or want more of it, can be extra grizzly or extra tired. I did notice it when Darcey went through Week 5. We're in week 12 right not, but I haven't noticed it....it may come next week. If it's any consolation, I can't get my little girl to sleep more than 1 hour (total) throughout the day, and yes she is really grumpy come the end of the day.
What does help with the grizzles and grumps at the end of the day is youtube. Yes, I can't believe I'm saying it. Youtube is our saviour. Darcey ADORES seeing other babies laughing and giggling. She starts to talk to them, and smiles at the babies. NO laughing back at them yet, but you never know. She can watch the babies laughing for around 20 mins (which is 20 mins no tears).
Darcey now goes to sleep somewhere between 7.30 to 8pm, and wakes up somewhere between 8am and 9am. This has been the case for the last two weeks, and I just cna't believe how lucky we are. No or very little sleeps during the day though. So proud of our sleeping girl (and still booby fed!!!!!)
She is a little girl 12 weeks and 3 days today, and only weighs 4.5kg. She's very happy, healthy, but petite, doll-like. We're still in majority 0000 clothes, although a couple of items are 000.
I think her eyes may be changing to green, like mine. I am hoping they stay bright blue like her Dad.
Has anyone tried the Baby Beehinds 'Petite all in two' nappies? I purchased medium sized nappies from Baby Beehinds, in the hemp fitted and minkee and smooth all in one styles, but in medium. At this rate, Darcey won't be in them until she's 5 or 6 months!! So am debating whether to buy small ones to last until the mediums kick in....and I do need to buy more mediums anway.
That's it, take care everyone

Trace, yeah Jacksons doing that atm too ><;; He's worse at night tho and is generally his normal self thru the day. I put it down to a baby version of adolescence ><; Last night he chucked the hugest patty. In the end i just had to rock him for about half an hour and let him cry it out. I tried everything else, he wouldn't take the boob either, would just spit it out and scream again. He's also a bit over the place with his night sleeps... only had two meh nights but it's hit me considering he's been sleeping between 9 and 11 hours straight the last few weeks! He was alot better last night tho so hopefully he'll slowly get back on track.
With day sleeps i let him do his own thing, I'm not big with routines and sorta let him create his own. When he gets up in the morning he's usually awake for an hour, hour and a half then goes for a nap, they can last anywhere from 30 mins to 3 hours. I've noticed the less sleep he has during the night the longer his nap is because the last 2 days he's had huge naps to compensate!
Petalpetal, Jackson loves other kids too. His "great" cousins who are 4 and 7 make him crack up. A friend of mine as a two year old and he's completely fascinated by him. He's a social little butterfly! It's so adorable! In a couple of weeks I'm having a few of the girls over for a big play date who had bubba's between 4 and 6 months. I can't wait to see what he'll be like with kiddies near his own age
well the little rat bag is waking up, so I better head off! Hope you's all had a lovely easter!

Just quickly while I am holding a grumpy baby. We are having the same here. ZVery fussy feeding and my girl has turned into a daytime cat napper. Sleep usually lasts 1 sleep cycle only... its doing my head in.... God I hope it's only a wonder week!
Sorry ladies, back for personals later.
Hi girls just a quick post from us as heading out to the house for the weekend.. our new fridge comes today, it's a Sampsung, 519l fridge and i can't believe how excited i am.
We are also having some 'FUN' with Zara at the moment, fussy for feeds, shorter naps than normal.. i was thinking OMG she's starting to teeth already.
Shes sucking sooo hard on her hand, very sooky etc etc. hmmmm
Maybe it is a wonder week, i can only hope, she has been in my bed a couple of nights and it's not doing my body any good.
Finally got the parts i needed for my breast pump so might try expressing and see if she will take some EBM from Mark out of a bottle.
Well best get going, gotta shower, pack and get the dogs etc in.. wanna be at the house BEFORE the fridge... YAY
