erica: aww :( im sure it'll work out. you've gotta do whats best by your family.
AFM: had a blast yesterday dispite my GPS hateing me. i ended up in bloody woopwoop...and only worked out how to get 'home' by following the signs saying 'knox' and i only knew that thanks to DH's LOVE of rare spares (car parts) vic slept the whole way, then my mum, dad aunt and uncle came over for a BBQ and drinks. which was nice. last time i saw them was my 21st.
oo gotta go boobies are needed!
-
Erica, omg how scary. I hope everything goes well :) which I'm sure it will.
Elf- what a pair of cuties uve got there elf!
Dan, mine did the same thing 2 me I ended up ignoring mine 2 lol
well we r heading back to Adelaide tomorrow, I can't believe how much I've missed DF, I think Mr c has missed him too. his eye has all cleared up thank god! but now has a rash around his eye from the antibiotic cream
I had good fun at our lil meet up yesterday, even if we did pretty much forget to eat :p it was really good to put names to faces and see the bubs together!
Omg I hit a dog on the way home from poopies place, silly thing bounced out in front of the car despite me driving wide around him & his owner! Thank god I was only going 40 and did go wide cos his head only got a bump and was ok. Scared the **** out me tho!! I was ok but had to pull over when I started shaking about 10 min later.
Well I better go put the boy to bed, snuggles for all :) i'll be sending u success vibes tomorrow Erica :) xxx
-
erica, hope work goes well for you! Your brave!
Oh no cmar, weren't you saying you almost hit a pug on the way here? Hitting dogs is scary, but worse when its your own which is what dh did to his parents dog a while ago and had to shoot it:(
I had a great time on sunday too, can't wait to do it all again at christmas! Having the boys there could make it easier, we could palm the bubs off to them so we can eat!
Dan, the cake was yummy! We gobbled it down for dessert, kIm really not good at sticking to diets lol!
Elf, what a cute lil boy!
-
Thanks everyone for your vibes! I survived my first day back at work! DH took the day off to look after L as usually I'll work from home on Tuesdays but I had to go in today as there was another person starting same time as me and I guess they didn't want to repeat the introduction process twice!
My boobies were about ready to explode by the end of the day, I managed to feed L AND pump out a full bottle!! *lol*
Elf - your babies are so CUTE!
Cmar - I know how you feel. I hit a cat.. ages ago.. and felt so bad. It was night and the cat was black.. and I didn't stop cos there was no owner around. Not sure if it was a stray or if it was dead or alive when I left the "scene of the crime".
Hello everyone else!!
DH has taken L out for a walk, so I'm currently washing bottles and pumps and stuff ready for tomorrow. I've gotta be so organised now!!! My brain hurts!
OK off to make thai beef salad for dinner... Yummo!

L made it through his second day at kindy. He faired pretty well yesterday. Poor little monkey didn't sleep much so was very overtired when I picked him up. Had red eyes and was crying. Soon as he got in the car he was out like a light! He slept soooooooo good last night! 12 hours straight with a dream feed at 10pm. DH and I slept so well!
Today he settled in alot better and was less cranky when I picked him up. I couldn't feed him for 2 of his 3 feeds so my boobies were about ready to explode when I got home. I managed to pump 150mL out of ONE boob alone!! Huge! I've got enough milk in the freezer now for around 5 full days (at 6 bottles a day) so I'm feeling a bit better about my supply now.
Work is going great! Got thrown in the deep end but I don't need as much training as the other new girl that started with me cos I"m very familiar with all of their systems where as she is brand new to the industry. I've got sites all over the country including VICTORIA, QLD and SOUTH AUSTRALIA!! YAY!! I even have a site in NEWCASTLE - Belle - !!!
Anyhoo, gotta get cracking with cleaning and sterilising the pump and bottles for tomorrow and also make dinner for DH and I.
Hope you're all enjoying your @home baby snuggles! I make sure I inhale my little monkey when I see him during the day cos I miss him so much while I'm away! I'm sure that will get easier.

Yay about work... Who do you work for? If you're ever up let me know :)
-
Erica- I'm glad work is gd even if it does mean being away from L
Poopie- Yup I did almost hit a put in the way there, I think it just wasn't my day!!
Well I had a check up yesterday and FINALLY got the all clear ion my episiotomy scar. but have to take it easy DTD for a little while but yipee have the ok to actually DTD!! DF & I were both about 2 snap!!
that antibiotic cream ended up giving Mr c blisters on his cheek as well as the rash...& it turns out that my grandad was allergic to some eye cream (he had a false eye so used them heaps) so our GP noted it down on his files.
I'm looking at taking DS to swimming lessons when the weather heats up, there r a couple of places near us that do baby lessons :D
Hope every one is going gd xx

erica: glad your little man did so well and WTG on the pumping! sounds like you're doing a good job with it. depending on where ya'll are in vic poopsta and I might need to gate crash LOL.
'mar: aww poor Mr C! and i giggled at your grandfather having a false eye...maybe the comic image of it falling out and rolling around didn't help (you can thank Eddie murphy's vampire movie sp00f for that!) glad he's getting better - with the rash boobie milk should help it. it helped Vic when he got a rash from the tape in ICU with the whole CVC line in.
AFM: been semi busy here. went to a speacal needs play group tuesday DJ plaied with another little boy. and a i saw a bubba older then vic but he had soo meany issues but he had such cute big eyes! but next tuesday we get Vic weighed and mesured. which will be interesting seeing as the average guess of his age is 6 months :o tomorrow we head off to another one - a bigger one. and DH has a job interview for a part time pick/pack job his first interview in over 7 years! haha or was it 10? eather way they called him to make a time and where happy to change it 4 times to suit him! so if that goes well i may not need to think about going back to work in 6-8 months time (if we keep going we'll be heading back wards with our savings. down side is that DH wont be home much, but i'll manage. plus im now looking at a double pram, cus soon my baby carrier wont take vic :( and if i want to go for a walk/jog i can.
i better go run a bath for the boys!
-
Just got a massive giggle from Harlee last night! I almost cried it was so special :)
She may not be rolling, but she is still so smart in other areas:D
-
Hey ladies!
Poop - awww that is so lovely! L just isn't quite giggling yet... kindof does these one off laughs like he's going "huh". But I've started blowing raspberries on his tummy and I almost got a giggle out of him last night, so I guess I'm close!
Dansta - Vic must be getting big if you can't manage him in the carrier!! Fingers crossed for your DH! :)
cmar - YAY on being able to DTD again!! DH and I haven't DTD since August... it's all him though.. he's got a bit of mild depression due to his job.. he can't quit cos we need the money, so he has lost all interest in sex cos he's so darn stressed. I'm not all that fussed that we're not DTD... I am so tired at the end of the day I couldn't be bothered! Although i do miss the intimacy.. DH is looking for a new job and is on medication for his depression so hopefully he will improve.
Belle - Will do! I think I'm at John Hunter Hospital... probably in the next couple of weeks actually... nothing solid booked, but will text you!
Well today is my work from home day. I have been working since 8am, but have also had L... he's been asleep for an hour now, so I've managed to do a bit of work. I'm reading alot to get up to speed on the projects, and have done a bit over the weekend, so I don't feel too bad that I'm not working a full 8 hours today. I've got a teleconference between 7-9pm thursday night so will take that once L goes to bed and count it towards todays hours.
How is everyone going with the breastfeeding? is anyone formula feeding? I'm feeling so much more confident with my supply now that I can pump an extra bottle each day. My boobies are SO PAINFUL in the morning, but as soon as I express they are fine. I've got a great stash in the freezer now and feel ok about leaving L with DH if I need to travel overnight or for an extended period of time. Don't know how my boobies will handle it though!!
Anyone been thinking about starting their baby on solids yet? I'm thinking I might start when Lachlan is 5 months old.. he's showing a real interest in watching us eat! I don't want to start him on the rice cereal (empty carbs) and would prefer to go straight to veges... I'm starting to get excited about giving him solids! But will definitely talk to the paediatrician first.
Anyway, better go and do some work before Master L wakes up!

erica- we r back to exclusive bf thanks to a combination of things that got my supply back up :) im putting off giving mr c solids for as long as possible, apart from the fact bf babies dont really need anything other than boobie milk until they r 12mths, i am avoiding "real" poos for as long as possible *shudder* my friend has started her daughter on solids (7mths and FF) and omg her poos are HORRIFIC compared to DS's bf ones!! but we will be going straight for vegies.
poopie- yay for giggles!!!
dan- there is LOTS of 2nd hand prams on ebay, also there are a few 2nd hand baby stores that might have a double pram for cheaper than buying one new. hope DF's job interview went well!
as for us, nothing eventful happening here except my sister and i took mr c to the beach for the 1st time yesterday since it 28C, he thought it was pretty fantastic even if those naughty waves kept getting his ankles!! but the sand was fun as was getting naked. lol hes a true male in that respect already, loves having his pants off or naked and protests when i put his clothes or nappy on!
its funny now that we can dtd i really havnt felt like it (much to Df's disappointment) but that might be my being a bit cranky with him atm, hes being a rightpain but i cant really put my finger exactly on what hes doing (or not doing) so i cant tell him wat hes doing or justify my crankiness. hes not really helping out with DS at all. when he gets home from work (he goes straight to the gym after work so isnt home until 6 at the earliest) mr c is pretty much just wanting boobie, bath and bed (DF wont bath him but will fill and empty the bath for me :wall:) and if i try and give DS to him on the weekends or when hes awake DF just says yes i'll take him and then put him down and walks away so i end up picking DS up again cos hes crying! DF gets the ****s if i ask him to change DS in the morning cos hes already up and about getting ready for work and i co-sleep in the mornings from about 4am to get more sleep but DS needs a change by 6:30am and DF gets up and 6am and doesnt leave til 7:15am *sigh* to make matters worse the only things he does around the house is the dishwasher and washing his gym clothes... needless to say i vacuumed on sunday for the 1st time in so long im not going to scar u with it and i had to fight with DF about taking him and not just putting him down. the floors are desperate to be mopped as well and the bathrooms are FILTHY. its at the point where i keep going out rather than doing what i need to do cos its so daunting and mr c wont let me put him down long enough to do it!
OK rant over lol
hope everyones going well, and the bubs are all growing into big fatty boombas :)

Big fatty boomba ... you called? :)
Lump here is lumping it up lovely. He giggles now, and you can hold quite the conversation with him, even if his side is just ooh and aaah. A week or two ago he started batting at things. He loves the stars printed on my pajamas, the frilly bits on my bra, the eyeballs of anyone who gets too close and we've had to put dangly things over his bouncer for him to bat at. Bat bat bat bat bat. He's a right handed batter.
Meanwhile the other one has just started drawing people. Two arms, two legs attached to a big blob with eyes, nose and big smiling mouth. Our outdoor dunny is currently adorned with chalk people. The chalk baby also has a belly button :)
-
poopie: gaww thats soo cute. your little harlee is learning how to draw people to her! smarty pants she is!
'mar:  DH was the same with DJ. but he felt that DJ "needed mummy more then daddie" at this point - its the same for Vic, but now DJ is a daddys little man though and through. and YaY for dtd. tell him the biggest turn on for a women is a man doing house work of his own accord and see what happens ;)
Erica- we're not starting solids until after 12 months. a catch cry that is often thrown around is "food is fun until im one" i used to let DJ munch on a soft spoon before solids. i started at 5 and a half months - in the (vein) hopes it'd help clam his reflux down. but it failed and i kind of regret it. but do whats right for you and your family. you know your little man better then any of us!
Elf: gaww thats soo cute, right hand batter! and gawww at your DD2 drawing people with no face but a smile!
AFM: BAH third time writeing this! DJ is munching on dinner and Vic is asleep. things here have been good. got Vic weighed today. hes 7.2kg more then half of Dj's weight. DJ is 11.2 lol. but vic is going well. DH has got giggles out of vic - by making farting sounds - typical male! but he's all eyes too. he loves watching DJ crawl around im currently looking for a double pram. but BAH my ebay fru is bad  i've bid on two - one is normaly $600 RRP and currently its going for $100 - but no doubt it'll go for near to $300 and the same with the second - they both have a week (or more) to go on the auction!
i better go dj has finished dinner and vic is awake!
-
HEEEELLLLOOOOOO!!!!! I am terribly sorry to have been MIA for the last month or two, just read over pages of your posts though and have and will BBL for some personals.
I started back at work last week, 2 days, three this week. DH's crazy busy time is over so our business is back to part time which means we need another part time income and as life would have it, mine is the higher paying and most stable so back to work for mummy. Actually went much much better than I envisaged. Am working 8 till 3 so feel like I am still at home for a huge chunk of the day, plus DH stays home with the girls so I don't feel guilty about having to leave my bubs as Daddy's got them, I only work 15 minutes from where I live so is not such a huge drain and wow, it felt so weird to be able to just focus on something for 7 hours instead of frantically working like a mad person all day only to reach the end of it and think, did I actually accomplish anything. (Can you tell I'm a little OCD and like my house to be clean, clean, clean so spend all day recleaning after hurricane Elly)
Biggest pain is my pitiful supply (though) and don't laugh because this is MASSIVE never been reached before territory for me - I can now get 600ml of EBM if just expressing (which I'm good at so that is my total supply bubs not getting any more than that), am hitting motillium once more to try and bring it to 700 but don't know how that'll happen - my hope is that if I can get 700 that's I believe considered an acceptable level for breast milk for a bub so once I start solids with Lilah hopefully we'll be able to just breastfeed and then bottle feed EBM when at work combined with solids by 6 months (Currently am having to comp 150-200ml formula over two feeds which I've timed for when she'll later have her lunch and dinner once she's on solids so hopefully she naturally wants less and less of the bottle as will still give her booby juice before food of course). Yeah - I plan on starting pre 6 months because I did with Elly who got hungrier and crankier at 4 months and for us it worked BRILLIANTLY so if Lilah is the same I'm not going to be all anal about 6 months although a lot of bubs won't be ready till then but I reckon you can tell like Dansta could with DJ tell he wasn't ready KWIM, she'll let me know one way or another when she's ready, but given her general interest in all things food now, am thinking I'll try her on some fruit and vegie purees at 4 or 5 months.
Anyhoo, I work in our head office which is only small, as in there's one bedroom sized room that has desks in it that me and the accounts manager work in and has a third desk that's rotated by the other HO workers, then there's a bathroom with one toilet attached to that, the big kitchen where the food is prepared for our stores and office/storage area between. Problem being - no where to express except the bathroom, standing over the sink, next to the toilet. I am not finding it so conducive to assisting my pathetic supply, but I am determined to maintain what I do have so pump pump pump over the dirty sink it is for me...
Lilah has slept through the night a fair bit in the last couple of weeks, and if she does wake it's just a case of grabbing her (she's still in our room next to me) and rolling from one side to the other to feed her while I snooze through it so am feeling more refreshed - except that I got a full on flu couple of weeks ago and I haven't been able to shake it so am a bit hungover - think it's in my chest but am sick of going to Doctors for other reasons so don't want to go again, hoping it will kick it on its own.
Lilah is about 6 kg now, and over 60cm, so think she's around 50% for most things and holding, which is good for a tiny born bubba so I'm happy. she's nicely chubby just love kissing her little second chin. And she's just woken up and complaining so I must run - am going to come back and respond to all you guys posts though so hang on for volume 2, (damn I can prattle on ay)
-
I love the new avvies Dani and Sarah!
-
sas: glad to see your going well! and lilah is too! she's growing like a champ!
belle: thank you!
AFM: Gah A/F might be back :protest: thats not fair damn it! i dont want to see her for another 12 months yet!
-
Hi all!
Sas - welcome back! Thought you'd fallen off the BB bandwagon. Glad to see you posting and that Lailah is doing well. I'm back at work too! Part time.. I'm really enjoying it! :)
Dani - tell AF to go away! Vic HUGE! OMG, 7.2kg? That's massive! Good luck on getting the pram off Ebay :)
Elf - sounds like lump is doing well and lumping it up! LOL
cmar - i hear ya with the DTD thing. I'm getting the ****s with my DH big time at the moment. He goes and buys all this crap for L's room without talking to me about it (and we don't really have the money to spare either!!). No biggie, but it's feels like it's his way or no way... doesn't care what I want to do. Like for example he put all L's blankets in a colourful box on the shelf. I had put the blankies on the shelf (with no box). Perfectly fine as it was... DH just goes ahead and changes it, without even talking to me about it. Same with L's clothes... So we had a bit of a blow about it tonight and he's been short with me ever since. All I wanted was for him to say "what do you think about changing round his shelves so that we put his clothes/blankets in boxes" *pfft* I don't care. I'm in the bedroom taking a teleconference at the moment (boooooooooring) and he's out in the lounge. He's also shown absolutely no interest in me physically at the moment... and I am so over taking the initiative all the freaking time. So I'm just not bothering anymore... and he doesn't seem to care. And I'm so tired in the evenings that it works for me just fine. I do miss the intimacy though :(
So some of you won't be starting your bubs on solids for a while... maybe I should wait! I would prefer to wait until after we get back from our NZ holiday at christmas so that I don't have to deal with canned food and spoons and highchairs etc... but I don't know if L is going to last til then on just BM or if I'm going to be able to make enough for him now that I'm back at work.
L started sleeping in his cot on tuesday night and he did really well with the transition. He did wake up at 4am for a feed but went right back to sleep! L is smiling heaps but can't get a giggle out of him yet.
OK I'd better go, I'm supposed to be listening to this Teleconference for work...
