ooooh, I forgot to tell you all......I'm getting my 'egg reserve' results tomorrow. So scared now!! Keep everything crossed for me ladies !!!!!
Fingers crossed for you Beata! My sis and I had standing room, and we just got tickets for this weekend. Very expensive finals this year! I'm desperately trying to get Mum a ticket now.
Morning ladies,
A quick update....my results came back 'good'. Apparently they are in the 'normal' range which is a relief. So we can now wait TTC until we come back from China. Thanks for your well wishes HC and ReeRee!
On the other hand, Cam is doing my head in ATM. He has been refusing his bottles for a week now. He will take very little sometimes, and of course I keep offering bottles several times a day with little success. The formula I am wasting ATM is huge. The only bottle he seems to be taking OK is the night bottle. I am at a loss to explain why he is doing it. I have introduced some solids about 6 weeks ago (mainly rice cereal and pureed fruit at that stage), these days I give him yoghurts, and mashed veggies as well. No meat or cheese or anything else, should I be introducing this too???? I think I will stop the solids for a while, so he can hopefully pick up on the milk. Why is he doing this???? He is still having wet nappies, but not as many as I would like, and a solid(ish) poo every day, sometimes twice a day (I'm guessing that's b/c of the solids). Has anyone got any ideas of what to do, any suggestions? Is anyone feeding bubs mainly solids now and only a little bit of milk?? I'b be interested in what you are feeding your bubs ladies, on an avarage day.....
Thanks girls,
B xxx
Beata I'm glad you had good results - can take a bit of pressure off you guys TTC. When do you leave for China? What an adventure!!
I don't really know what to suggest with Cam's bottles/solids sorry, we're doing BLS here too. Our aim is her milk feeds will be her main source of nourishment until she's around 1 (food is fun until they're 1 theory) and the solid foods are really secondary to that. It does take the pressure off me worrying if she's "eating" enough, but we don't have the issue of refusing milk feeds. Your suggestion of maybe stopping or cutting back on the solids might see if the bottle feeds pick up? I can imagine it must be worrying, not feeling as if he's having enough. I wish I had better advice for you  Do you have a good health nurse or GP you can talk to? I hope it all calms down soon.
beata - yay for the good results! i bet thats a load off your shoulders and you can now relax a little :D
as for solids, Hamish wakes up overnight so i give a bottle then, when he wakes up in the morning we give him either farex or a yoghurt, then another bottle around morning tea time, then fruit or custard for lunch, then another bottle around afternoon tea time, veggies for tea, then another bottle at bed time. i also cut down the amount of milk i gave him at each bottle for a couple of weeks and he started drinking more. maybe try giving 120mls at a time and see how you go with that? we give Hamish water with his meals too which he likes. i dont make Hamish his own food. i am a bit lazy like that and i find that what i buy him at the supermarkets is just as good as what i would make. i do occassionally give him something that we make, such as roast turkey and veggies the other day. i buy the rafferty's garden stuff. i hope cam improves soon for u xx
 woohoo Beata on the great results!! What a relief for u both.
Re: food/bottles, we are very casual with offering solids here - same as HB "food is fun until your one" as all the nutrition they need still comes from the milk, and solids are just another skill to learn and we will let Blake decide at what pace he will take it... Though it does make it a lot easier when they are still very much interested in their milk!!
Our day usually goes as follows:
6am wake up, 200ml bottle then back to sleep for an hour or so
10:00am-ish - 200ml bottle, play, maybe another nap
12:30-ish - my lunchtime, i might offer him a piece of my toasted sandwich or a cruskit with avocado
2:00 - 200ml bottle, arvo nap
6:00ish - dinner time, will offer him a little sample of whatever we have for dinner, then bath, 200ml bottle and bed.
some days i might not have any suitable food for him to try (eg fast food) so he wont have any solids at all..
There is a 9 month old at my mother's group that was mainly on solids all day from around 7 months, and would only ever drink her milk when she was asleep! She still only ever drinks when she is asleep, otherwise she is too interested in what's going on around her to stop and drink!
There is also another 9 month old in our group that is just soooo hungry, he has dropped a lot of his day breastfeeds and is wanting more solids (well, pureed solids) than anything else. I think he has a cup of apple and a yoghurt for brekky, then a cup of veggies and a custard at lunch, and some pear and a breastfeed for dinner..
We always offer water at every 'meal' as well - as long as u can keep Cam hydrated, just keep experimenting until you find what suits him.. And doesn't hurt to have a talk with ur MCHN or Doc just to make sure he's progressing well - i just took Blake in for a 6 month check and had a chat about solids.. Goodluck, i hope u can resolve this soon and save the stress (and money on wasted formula!!) xxx
We're going through exactly the same thing Beata! It's been 2 and a half weeks since Fraser took a bottle "nicely". I rung Ngala and they told us to stop solids for a week to see if that would help - it has helped but now the poor munchkin gets so distressed when he sees us eating!
Great news on the results!
Hi to everyone else - sorry this is such a quick stop-in! xx
Hi girls,
Thanks so much for all your replies!! It really does help to put things into perspective. It's always been drummed into me that the milk is the baby's main source of nourishment from day one. That's why it's so important to me that Cam has his bottles. Lately I have been feeling so much guilt about not trying harder to bf, thinking that not only he is on formula, he appears not to like the taste, maybe cos he realises now how terrible this stuff is????!!!!! Sorry, I know I sound so stupid and I don't want to offend anyone ff, I'm just struggling with it all ATM. Today while changing his nappy, I imagined that his ribs are showing more.....how stupid! At my last MCHN app. at 6 months (wasn't supposed to get weighed as it was the food talk app. but we had time and she weighed/measured him) he was 8.2 kg. She said it was good. I think I will cut out the solids from tomorrow (I cut back a little today) and see what he does. I really pray that he picks up on his bottles soon. Today was like this :
100 ml at 8 am
90 ml in his porridge at 10 am (counting this as full bottle)
NOTHING till 2.45 pm when he drank 150 ml (I deliberately didn't offer lunch thinking he will want a bottle)
dinner at 5.30 pm, half a packet of raferty garden's pumpkin, carrot and apple (he looooooves this, doesn't he!!!!!)
180 ml bottle at 7.30 pm.
Sigh......
Can only hope he does better tomorrow.
BTW, I've missed his 6 month needles last week. Does anyone know who I should be calling?? The MCHN or the number on the leaflet (I think it's a Medicare no.).
Hi to all and sorry for this 'me' post/vent, just feeling a bit 'blah' ATM :(
b x
big  beata! I hear u on the FF guilt :( but I just remind myself that it was the best decision for us at the time, and in hind-sight I might have 'tried harder' but...well that's the thing with hind-sight isn't it? We'll be better prepared for next time :D
Blake missed his 4 month needles due to illness, and didn't have them till close to 5 months..I asked the doc if it would affect anything and he said no, just do the next needles at 7 months instead of 6...I think the nurse said that he might just miss out on the oral vacc cos they don't give it after 6 months.
Also, when Blake was checked at his 6 month MCHN appt on Fri he was 7.76kg and 67cm long - right on the curve thingy and chugging along nicely according to my nurse, so 8.2kg for Cam sounds great!!
Apart from refusing bottles, is Cam generally happy and in good health? Could it be a phase? Cos i think i read somewhere that around this age a lot of mums mistake a breast refusal stage for weaning and if they stick it out and persevere bubs hops back on keeps going strong...? I dunno if that even made sense, lol (typing whilst watching Packed to the Rafters ;) )
I think cutting back on the solids will be good, if at least just to see what it is he really wants
Here's hoping things get easier soon!
ReeRee, thanks sweetie . I guess I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday......I also know that I have made the decision to ff after much thought and heartache, I know it was the best decision at the time. Like you, next time I will go into it much more informed and asking for loads of help!!! I guess with a first there is so much to learn and many mums need so much support. I didn't feel like I got it, or maybe I didn't reach out enough as the first 6 weeks was such a huge fog!
Cam is generally pretty happy, only whingeing when he is either hungry or sleepy (mostly sleepy). I have added a wee nap in the late afternoon which sometimes helps. When he is over tired he doesn't want anything to eat! This morning I offered him a bottle (his last one was at 7.30 pm) and he drank 110 ml. Not too bad. I will make him porridge around 9 am but then will skip lunch again today and see how he goes with his late morning/afternoon bottle. I will also offer more water during the day as sometimes his nappies are not too wet. It's good to know that maybe it's only a stage! I really hope so. With the needles, I rang the 1800 number on the immunisation pamphlet but was told by a recorded message to call back later so I'll try again today. Thanks so mch for your kind words ReeRee, I do feel a bit better today. I'll try and relax more and follow his lead I think....if things don't improve soon, I'll go and get him checked out.
Hi all,
Beata- Good news on the TTC stuff, now I hope you will be able to enjoy China with that weight off you mind.
About the milk feeds???? I'm also in the 'food for fun until they're one' camp. Adrian still has about 5 200ml bottles a day and he seems very satisfied with that, he is very curious when we eat dinner though and have started some BLS by putting bits of fruit and bread on his tray and letting him go at it. We sometimes do some spoon feeding with pureed fruit and vgies that i've made or siome rafferty's but i'm not too scheduled about it. My mum seems to want to spoon feed him a couple of times a day as i think she feels that now he is 6 months solids are neccessary, but i'm not too fussed. As long as he is happy and putting on steady weight:) I hope things get sorted for you soon:)
For the other ladies that are doing BLS, do your babies gag much? Adrian likes playing and gumming his bread etc, but sometimes gags a bit and brings up some vomit, but then goes right back to chewing. I'm not too worried about it as its obviously a reflex action to prevent choking but it gets messy.
Anyway, hope all are well.
hugs
Hey Beata, how's that gorgeous little man of yours going? I hope things are calming down
Jelly, my DD does gag every now and then, I actually thought it would be more often than it is. What I have noticed is within half hour of her 'meal', she sometimes does a juicy burp and brings up a bit of vomit, and sometimes little bits of food in it (sorry for TMI) The more adventurous she is getting though, the more the gagging is starting to happen. I think it's as she's really starting to move the food around her mouth more.
I love watching her eat, and can't believe how quick she learns things. When we first started only a couple of weeks ago, if she dropped it in her lap, she gave it no further thought. Now she reaches down and tries to retrieve the food she drops on either her lap or on the highchair seat. Simple, but wow. Changes every day :)
Hope everyone is going well, and have a great weekend!
Hi girls, I know I have been missing for a bit, tried to get into the other thread belinda did, but couldn't.
Anyway, i have some news! I am pregnant again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just found out this morning, but by my calculations I am about 9 weeks, so that will mean 13 months between. Am totally freaking out. - I kinda thought I was but was in denial and wouldn't do a test, because it took me 20 months last time to fall.
Any suggestions! Matilda is only 6 months now!
Hey becc good to see you - and WOW on the news! I'm really excited for you - I can see how it's a little bit daunting, and whilst they're both younger it will be pretty full on, but you'll be over the nappy/bottle/baby stage quicker! I have had a really strong desire lately to want to TTC but am going to hold off for awhile, I can live the journey through you heh heh
Just thinking about baby stuff - you'll be able to reuse alot of Matilda's stuff. Did you happen to get a pram that can convert to a double? If you didn't you could always onsell your pram now before another 7 months or so use (less used more $ hopefully) and get one that takes a bub and toddler?
Congrats :)
Hey Humanbean.
Yeah I am still in shock I think and feeling a bit guilty because Matilda is still a little bub and feeling like I owe here more time by herself.
I didn't go back on the pill, as I thought there would be no chance because it took us so long last time and also it is not like we have been BD all the time, so I guess the saying it only takes one time, really is true.
I have been thinking about cots and rooms and stuff instantly. It is all very overwelming. and no my pram is not a convert to double thing either.
If you are getting the urge to TTC again, it obviously won't be too soon! I just wish I had a bit more time to loose a bit more weight! Am going to have to work at it twice as much now!
Bec - OMG :o Congratulations. Like human bean said - at least you get the whole baby stage over quicker. You must be really tired and overwhelmed! If you are looking for a double pram, we have the Baby jogger City Select and it's really good. Can be used for one or two with a seat/bassinet or both seats. Also, you can have the seats either facing you or away. Baby Jogger City Select Stroller (2010) - Free VIP Shipping & No Sales Tax!
Beata - that's good about your eggs. I missed the 4 month needles for Angus too, but they got done a bit late. We had to go to the doctors because the waiting list was too long with the child health clinic. How exciting going to China! When are you going again? I have been reading these, but haven't had a chance to do a reply.
Jelly - good to hear more stories about the BLS. I mentioned this to DH this morning and he was pretty keen to try it. He feeds Angus solids when he gets home from work, but I guess we will have to start doing two solid feeds a day soon.
Beata and Miamunchkin - I hope your feeding routine gets better. Sorry, I don't really have any advice.
As for us - I love the way Angus is developing! He is coming along in leaps and bounds. He still doesn't do the 'proper' crawl on all fours, but it is a combination of the commando crawl, bunny hops and pulling himself. He gets around so much and this morning DH and I were in the dining room having breakfast and he crawled out of the lounge room to us! Also, when I put his toys out in the lounge room I scatter them around. He looks around, chooses a toy and then goes for it. The phone book under the jumparoo is still his favourite and I can always find him under there chewing away. We didn't really notice the first tooth coming, but the second one is coming I think.
Anyway, he just woke up and we are about to go out, so I will come and type some more later :p
OMG Bec, congrats hun!! That's wonderful news! It's good I think when the age difference between kids is small, that's what I want too, but DF has other ideas :o For one, everything will be fresh in your mind of what to do with a newborn (you are a pro now!!!!) and also when they grow up, they will move out of home around the same time!! lol.
.......
Hi ladies,
Either my computer or belly has been playing up lately.....lost 3 big posts so I gave up (I managed to post a short one for Bec and was going to come back to do persies and lost a post again :wall:)
Hope you are all well, will have to come back to do persies soon as I am totally out of enery ATM.
Big hugs to all xxxxxx
b
Beata that cracked me up about them both moving out of home around the same time
DD is sitting now, which is pretty cute, face plants now and then but recovers quickly! She woke up last week and decided she absolutely cannot be happy unless I am well within sight, and preferably holding her. ARghhhhh it's been doing my head in, all day long, feel like unless she's napping she is permanently attached to me. I'm sure it's part of the next wonder week and will pass soon enough - bring it on! (sorry to sound like a horrible parent but it can get really draining) Other than that all is good though, so I really shouldn't complain.
Hope everyone is doing well :)
Hey HB! Good to hear from you! Yay for Arlee sitting up all by herself! That's fantastic.
All good at my end. Getting a bit worried as Cam is still not rolling. Or sitting up. Or anything except chewing his toes off and saying mama all day long. And I hear you HB on the clingy thing. Cam gets himself in a hissy fit if I leave the room! Are there any bubs out there as lazy as my wee man?????? Should I get him checked out? :o Or am I getting paranoid now???
Thanks Beata, and whilst I can say you're worrying over nothing, I know how you feel - I can't help but measure DD up to all the other bubs in Mother's group etc. One of them sat up by himself and started crawling across the room last week and every Mom in the group started telling their bub to copy him lol me included!! BUT, and big but, they all develop at their own pace, and Cam will at his, he's just happy hanging out on his back! He'll get there hun, he will. As for teeth, we don't have any here either, so I can't blame them for the crankiness ha ha
With that said, if you want to put your mind at ease, can you drop by your health nurse? I'm sure she'll say the developmental ages and stages are just guidelines, but if it stops you worrying maybe you should? Hey how's the China prep going?? How long now?
Beata - I think they all just go at their own pace for sure! Tiah is the only one in my mothers group that cant sit by herself yet BUT she will blow rasberries at me when I make the noise for her, which none of the other babies can do yet.... so I just boast about that hahahahha
She doesnt roll from her tummy to her back... but I know she can because she was doing it for a while? Someone told me that sometimes once they master something they kind of put it too the side while they learn something else?
and
CONGRATULATIONS BEC!!!!! :p
Congratulations bec!!!!
Awesome news
Hi Ladies,
Long time since i have posted, sorry:(
Congrats Becc! It will be difficult for you for a little while, until you learn to balance two children...but it is always worth it :)
There is so much our little munchkins are doing! Grace is doing well, She is still b/f and has started solids. For anyone worrying about weight...Grace is still only 5.8kg!!! She is on a custard diet to try to beef her up a little...but she is perfectly fine in every other way. I make her custard fresh every morning and she has it for brekky, lunch and dinner (after i have offered her breast) although she has had milk she still eats the custard. The midwife is hoping this will pop a bit more weight on her but still keep my milk supply going strong.
Re- development, babies are so different in the milestones they reach. It says nothing about how they will turn out when they hit school. My dd was early with everything...but struggles at school. My ds was behind in every milestone and is a clever little boy who is the top of his class! Don't feel pressure that your baby should be doing something because someone elses is!!
I hope you all are doing well!
Wow Bec, congratulations!!! My mate has two boys 13 months apart and loves it, she did say it was hard when bub #2 was newborn though! You'll manage :)
Beata, Indy hardly ever rolls, and he can only sit unsupported for a little while before he falls over  They'll both get there, before we know it they'll be on the move and we'll long for the days when they played happily on their backs :D
Hey girls
Beata - don't worry too much babies develop all over the place!! But if it is just see your health clinic nurse.
Thanks for the congrats girls. Have got my head around it a bit more now and am pretty happy just was shocked. Did it make anyone go.... oh I might start trying again now?????? How is everyone's little ones going?
Matilda is going well. She was rolling over but doesn't seem interested in doing that anymore. Oh and was saying dad constantly. but now doesn't say it anymore and only says "mum"!!! Yes a win there! She is doing solids and hates potato? Does anyone else have that prob? I now mix it and she seems to like it more.
Hope evereyone is doing well.
bec - maybe some gravy or tomoto sauce on the potato might make her a bit more interested :D a friend suggested that to me. Hamish loves his gravy now :D oh and no more for us
ha theresa - might try that! Actually I feel like that myself! Am so annoyed, I lost weight last time as I was so sick! This time, not sick but have put on about 15 kg's since having Matilda - just cause I can eat again - very annoyed as I can't really undo it now!
Morning mummies,
Thanks so much for your comments/advice ladies! I feel much better now, having spoken to a lot of people/friends, they all say the same, in his own time! Yesterday he was trying to commando crawl, bringining his knees up when I put him on his belly and pushing himself off me. He might even skip the rolling part! lol.
Bec, you are going to have a wee boy. Mum says that if a bub says 'mum' first the next one is a girl, and if bub says 'dad' first it will be a boy. We'll see if it comes true! BTW, I have been clucky since Cam was like 3 months old hahahahahahaha, so yes more on the cards for us if my body will allow it :p
HC, you're probably right! I will miss Cam being in the one spot when I leave him, when he decides to hide from me and runs all over the place!
Con, Grace is such a little darling, I'm sure she is fine just the way she is. Some babies are just smaller, and some like big boof over there, bigger! lol
HB, still haven't really done anything in preparation for China, still in shock and denial! I have to ring the airline and find out what I can and can't take etc. I might have to buy one of those baby bjorn carriers so I can carry Cam around the airport as I don't know how far I can take my pram.
Big hello to all the other mummies in here!
Cam has his needles today, not looking forward to it :(
B xxx
hi girls,
hope you and bubs are all well.
Had my first day back at work today and put Adrian in day care for the first time:( Lots of tears (mine, not his) LOL. But he went really well, the ladies say he is a very smiley baby :) Kinda so-so about being back at work, good to see work collegues but i wish i could stay at home with DS, plus my classroom is in shambles! Lots of work to do!
Anyway, sorry no time for persies, will catch up later,
hugs xxoo
Aww Jelly! I'm in awe of those of you who are back working, Indy still wakes up a few times a night so I'd be cactus!
Hi ladies,
Jelly, I don't envy you hun! I don't know how I'd go back at work and trying to balance the family life!! As it stands now, I hardly ever cook, I clean every 2 to 3 weeks (a good clean, spot clean in between....) so I am a pretty bad housewife already ha ha ha.
I'd cry too leaving Cam with someone else, but at least I know mum would help out heaps (hence my reluctance to move far away from Grandma :D)
HC, how are things with you hun? Has Indy been helping daddy at the computer? What is with babies/little kids and buttons.....lol
Bec, how are you feeling darl? Any morning sickness? I actually miss that :o
Mia, hope you're doing OK hun. How is wee Fraser?
Teresa, Meercat, Con, HB, Nat, b & anyone else I missed, hello lovely mummies! Hope your bubbas are giving you lots of smiles and cuddles and are behaving themselves!
Just a question ladies..........you know how we talked about some bubs falling asleep with blankies over their faces??? Well, Cam loves to fall asleep like this still, and quite often when I check on him in the middle of the night (when I go for a pee for example) he still has the blankie right over his face. When I try to move it he sometimes wakes up, or pulls it over his face when he realises it's gone. Sometimes it's the only way he will fall asleep, and I've even noticed he sleeps longer during the day when he has the blankie over his face. It worries me with all this talk about not having soft toys & loose blankies in the cot......is anyone going through the same?
B xx
hi ladies.
just a quick one from me. i managed to give both me and DH food poisoning last night so feeling very sick at the moment.
beata - hamish loves to sleep like that too. but at least he doesnt wake up when i move the blanket so i am thankful for that. he also sleeps longer with it over his face. i just keep an eye on him.
jelly - its hard being back at work itsnt it. i love the social aspect but i really miss him when i am away from him. but the girl who is looking after him loves him and is awesome with him so that really helps
hi to everyone else :D
Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well!
Teresa - hope you and your DH are feeling better now!
Beata - I'm the same as you - hardly do any cooking! I'm trying to diet so I cook about once a week and stock up the freezer with meals, then just let DH have whatever he wants when he comes in. I try to keep on top of the cleaning as if I don't do it, it will never get done! Fraser also sleeps with his blankie on his face - he seems to like it! I wouldn't worry about it at this stage - it's more a time to worry about soft toys, blankies, etc, when bubs isn't able to move them off their face by themselves. Our little ones are all old enough to do that now.
Jelly - hope the return to work has gone smoothly!
Becc - hope you are keeping well and getting some rest! It must be very tiring being pregnant with one still so young to look after also!
Con - girls are always petite - Grace sounds perfectly healthy to me!
Hello to everyone I have missed.
Things are a little better with us this week, so much as Fraser is sleeping a bit more than 30-40 mins at a time. We had a whole week of him waking that frequently - I was (and still am like) a complete zombie - absolutely wrecked! The thing is, Fraser is to - poor little munchkin! He's still really congested in his nose so I took him to the docs yesterday for a little "once over" and he told me what I already knew - he's either at the tail end of a cold or has hay fever, and he is teething, which is all making for a bad combination! Apart from the lack of sleep, he's actually doing really well on his bottles (touch wood - don't want to tempt fate) and he's doing ok with the solids also. He'd lost weight at the last weigh in, so the CHN toold me to skip the veggies and fruits on their own, and to give him one protein meal a day. As he's a little bit sensitive in the tummy dept, I've just been buying the Rafferty's Garden sachets and trying him on those to see what he likes and dislikes before I go wasting any more food (and time) pureeing everything up. Seems to be going well and he seems to be enjoying it so far!
Just a quick question - is anyone having issues with their LO rolling over in the cot constantly? I had to flip Fraser back 7 times for his morning nap, and even then, he ended up falling asleep on his tummy. It's not that I mind him sleeping on his tummy as he should be fine at this age, it's just that he doesn't really mean it to happen and doesn't like it. He will eventually fall asleep there but isn't happy about it. I've tried putting him in different positions in the cot (like at the side) but he just climbs up the side with his legs until he flips over
Hi everyone
I haven't posted in a while cause I haven't been getting updates in my email for some reason.
Beata - not sure if I've posted to you already, but it's so true about babies developing at different paces. Angus was the second to crawl in our playgroup (after a 10 month old girl) and he is the youngest. Yet he can't sit up on his own (although he could last Wednesday??) and he doesn't really make many sounds (apart from grunting and blowing raspberries). One of the Mums at playgroup is a bit concerned and always comments on Angus, but her son (2 months older) has been able to sit for ages, can wave and is starting to say dada.
Bec - congratulations again! Today I saw lots of new babies and I was feeling pretty clucky. I told DH that we will start trying after Angus turns 1. I am really looking forward to having another one and even the birth, because I kind of know what to expect.
mia - we had the same thing of Angus waking constantly, at first I think it was a growth spurt and then I figured that I wasn't giving him enough solids during the day. Now he has 3 meals a day, as well as bf every 3 hours. He is getting better. Angus is still in his bassinet  but I've found him on his tummy a few times (with his legs tucked up) and today when I snuck in to check on him, this head slowly came up from the end of his bassinet, so he had turned himself around and rolled over. As soon as DH puts the cot level down he's going in there!
Teresa - hope you're better
Jellymaker - good on you and I'm sure he's having a good time with all the other babies.
Re: solids - I don't think Angus likes potato either. I cooked this fish poached in milk with potato and he never eats it. He loves yoghurt, apple and fruit jelly though! So I'm trying to mix things in.
As for us, DH has gone away for the week with work, so it is just us two. Everything is going really well though. I am trying to get an assignment done, but it's not going too well! Today I got a lot done while Angus had a 2 hour sleep which was good.
A question: Does anyone have a bath ring?? We are still bathing Angus in the baby bath, which is in the change table  He is obviously too big and his feet stick out, but I'm not sure weather the bath rings are any good. I saw thing childcare one in Target for $40, but I am feeling a bit guilty for buying him a ball for $20 that he is totally disinterested in :shakehead: DH thinks he has too many toys!
Hi ladies! Just got back from an overnight stay with Nanny, it was lovely in Ocean Grove today! I've been using the Flylady routines to try and keep things tidy, so far so good! I'm also doing a lot of decluttering as I go, and we've got some of my sister's furniture and boxes in our spare room while she house hunts.
One of my nursing mates has two kids and she said they both slept/sleep with a blanket over their face
Indy doesn't, but we co-sleep with him anyway and he usually kicks the blanket off.
He can sit up unsupported for a minute or two, no crawling yet but I did find him over next to the tv the other day! I'm not worried about him developing more slowly or anything, he'll get there!
We usually bathe Indy in the big tub with one of us, he loves splashing around in the deep water with his bath toys!
How's your China preparation going Beata? Indy loves pushing buttons on daddy's X-Box controller and making him crash lol.
How are you going Bec?
Hello everyone else!
Hi Ladies!
Well week one of being back at work done and dusted and i am SOOOOOOO tired! I didnt think it would take it out of me so much but i am knackered! Adrian does seem to like Day care but im annoyed that he is sick already!!!! I knew he would get sick around other babies but not on his first day! He has snot running down his face constantly and is finding it really hard to breathe, especially at bottle time. Hope it clears up soon.
As for doing things, Adrian can roll from his back to his front but still cant roll back the other way, he can sit unsupported for as long as he wants or until he fusses and you pick him up. He has started pushing up with his arms on his tummy and bringing his knees up a bit and sort of doing a frog bounce thing (its really cute to watch) but no crawling yet :) Dont worry about your babies, they all do stuff at their own paces and it means we have a little bit longer of always knowing where they are! LOL No teeth yet either, just lots and lots and lots of drool!
Im still managing to get to the gym three times a week (Thank god for my parents!) and have lost 3 kgs in the last 5 weeks, not as much as i was hoping but better than nothing! If anyone is interested, check out Stronglifts.com, its all about weightlifting and how to not just lose weight but getting fit. I can now squat 65kg, deadlift 70kg, bench 30kg and press 25kg because of this program and will be able to hold up my increasingly growing boy :)
Bec- congrats!!!! So happy for you! Becareful lifting that baby while your pregnant though
Hi to all the other yummy mummies,
Going to go and catch up on all the cuddles i missed out on this week :-)
Hugs
Hi ladies,
Gosh, this thread has gone sooooooo quiet! Does this mean everyone is super busy?? ha ha.
Just dropping in to say hi to everyone and I hope you and your bubbas are all well.
Big news.............................................. ..Cam rolled fully from his back to his tummy for the first time 2 days ago and keeps on rolling around!!!!!! Can't believe it's taken him 7 1/2 months to do it, lol.
In other news, DF left for China on Sunday morning and I miss him like crazy. Little man keeps looking for him :( I'm worried because DF said the pollution over there is really bad ATM. I just hate the thought of taking my little guy into such a polluted place.
Have any of you ladies travelled overseas with a bub??? I need as much help/suggestions/tips as possible, as the plane trip just keeps on stressing me out.

Hi ladies,
Well it looks like this thread is dead!! lol
We have finally arrived in China 2 days ago, so different here it's like a different world. I have managed to have two falls here already, on the second day I fell over in the shopping centre, and yesterday I almost died when I fell over on the pavement outside the shopping centre carrying Cam!!! OMG, I was so upset as he hit his head on the concrete, but not hard luckily as my elbow took most of the impact. I think he's OK, just a little bruise on his head. I was so upset for the rest of the afternoon, thinking I'm such a clutz and a bad mum. The thing is, you are constantly watching for these stupid people on bikes that it's hard to also watch your feet all the time. I walked into these knee high poles that prevent people taking trolleys from the shopping centre.
Anyhoo, I'll write back later as I can't use my own labtop ATM, I'm using hubby's. Hope you're all well.

Hey Beata! I only thought of you this morning and wondered how China was going...... sorry to hear you've taken some tumbles.....glad you're both okay. Don't be too hard on yourself, your senses are probably working overtime! In a weeks time you'll be knocking people out of your way like a pro ;)
I must have missed your last post - go Cam on all the action - he still rolling about the place? How did the plane trip go?
We are all good here, we have our first cold but nothing too sinister, wicked number 11's under the nose and a tickly cough, but otherwise nothings is slowing DD down. She's nearly crawling, and has just learnt to sit herself up from laying down. She is sporting a huge purple egg on her head from rocking a little too far forward on the tiles, and it seems to have made her a little more wary of being so adventurous!
Hope everyone and their bubs are happy and healthy, gearing up for their first Christmas. Gearing up for a hot one here!
