afm, Hamish is now crawling and getting into absolutely everything! we have had words a few times after he has opened a drawer then got his fingers caught when closing it. several tears later he is ok. no damage to his fingers. he is also pulling himself up on everything! we can no longer keep cups on tables or leave anything lying around. he also has a facination with power points and power cords. we tell him no but he just looks at us smiles then laughs! lol we do move him and try and distract him tho. he is fine for awhile then spots them again and then bang off he goes. he is soooo much happier now he can crawl. only problem is i cant put him down anywhere then go somewhere for a quick minute then come back and expect him to be in the same place. lol

DH gave him his phone to play with the other day. lets just say we had to go and replace it coz it wouldnt work after that! we think he drooled all thru it. he now has 6 teeth. 4 on the top and his 2 little bottom ones. no sign of the other two bottom ones coming up. he got all 4 of his top teeth within about a week of each other. he is sooo good with teething tho. just slightly grizzlier then usual but thats about it. his little hair is going curly on top too. looks soooo cute! has the strawberry blonde hair to match :D

anyway i better go. he will be awake soon. hope everyone is well

Wow, soooo long between posts now!

Beata- hope all is going well in china, i couldn't imagine a life change so big, especially with a baby in tow! Hope you find your feet (literally and figuratively :)) soon.

HB- I agree about chrissy being a hot one, QLD is getting warmer by the minute!

Teresa- Wow, Hamish sounds so grown up now! 6 teeth! You must be so happy with his development!

AFM- Been back at work now for 8 weeks and in that time since Adrian's been at daycare he's had constantly runny nose, cough and in the last two weeks conjunctivitis! Not happy Jan! But my mum was talking to my dad's oncologist about it and he said I should be thankful that DS is being exposed early as his immunities will build up. He says they have so much trouble with children with Lymphoma these days because they have no immune systems. Makes me feel a bit less guilty about leaving him in daycare.

No crawling yet but very close, soon the baby proofing will have to go up a notch. Only two teeth so far but i'm sure more will follow shortly.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well regardless of whether or not we get time to post :)

Hi lovely ladies!!

Wow, our babies are growing up! Cam is still not rolling from tummy to back only from back to tummy, and that's pretty much it!! If I put him in a sitting position he lasts for a few seconds and then falls to the side. When on his belly he lifts his bum up in the air and brings up his knees but doesn't actually get anywhere, lol. Absolutely no sign of teeth either :( Drooling lots and that's about it. I don't worry about other babies doing so much more these days although it would be nice to see something new that he's learned to do! Oh well......

Teresa, sounds like Hamish is learning as he goes!!! I always pull things away from Cam if I thing he's going to hurt himself (like a hard plastic toy that he's banging his head into), I figure if he hurts himself a bit he'll learn not to be so rough! Yay for all Hamish's teeth!

Jelly, I constantly worry about Cam getting sick and now especially that we're in China as it's getting pretty cold here, but I also know that the only way for him to build up immunity is to actually get sick. We were on the plane and this guy was coughing and sneezing heaps not far from us and I was so sure poor wee mite would get sick but he was OK. I'd like to think he's a tough lil cookie!! lol.

HB, so happy Arlee is doing well and being adventurous, apart from the wicked number 11s under her wee nose!! Hope she's feeling better now.

Well we have survived 9 days here so far, no more falls (thank God) although I am convinced that there are boobie traps everywhere here!!! There's not a day that I don't trip on something, lol, my poor mum is so worried she's taken to carrying Cam all the time when he's not in his stroller. I'm sooooooooooo cheesed off at Quantas ATM. I rang 3 times before I travelled to ask what baggage Cam was allowed to have. They told me that he was allowed 10 kg plus one additional item like a stoller, car seat etc. I packed my stroller of course and his 11 kg bag, and the stupid witch at the airport told me he was only allowed 10 kg and that I had to pay extra for the 12 kg stroller if I wanted to take it with me. Long story short, I left the stroller behind and had to buy an al cheapo one as I have to leave it behind when I come back. Not happy Jan as he hates this stroller and isn't very comfortable in it. We still have a little less than 3 weeks to go.

Anyhoo, hope you're all well and your bubs are doing beautifully. Will write back some more later :)

Tiah is crawling and pulling herself up onto furniture now... STILL NOT SLEEPING THOUGH!!

We're going well here, just starting to pull herself up to stand, babbles all day long and is developing a real little personality. In the last week we have had so many bumps and knocks and falls and tumbles, her head is a few shades of purple! I'm not sure how much more I can take, and this is just the start ha ha I go back to work at the start of Feb and DD will do a 5 day fortnight in CC, bit nervous about it, but looking forward to getting back to work too (hope that doesn't make me sound like an awful Mom)

You dont sound like an awful mum at all! I have been back a couple of weeks now (2 half days a week) and I LOVE IT!!!!

It is hard and I miss her... but OMG the adult conversation! And I actually get to drink my coffee hot at work!

Meercat, yay for Tiah crawling and pulling herself up! Feel sorry for you with her night sleeps....hopefully she'll start sleeping some big blocks soon. Cam was so good with his day sleeps in China sleeping twice a day for at least 1.5 hours at a time it was heaven. Now back home he is up to his usual tricks and often refuses to sleep in the afternoon. Little bugger!

HB, I'm sure it will be hard going back to work in the beginning but I think the human contact will be great! lol. Glad to hear Arlee is going well too. Except the bumps maybe! They are tough little devils :)

AFM, we came back from China a week before xmas and it was so crazy trying to do xmas shopping and adjusting back to life at home, especially as Cam found it so hard to adjust with his sleeping. For the first week back home he would go down at 7ish, then wake up at 9 and be awake for good 2 to 3 hours ending our nights at nidnight! Wasn't fun! Now DF is back in China for another 8 weeks but is coming back for 10 days midway through his trip so I don't have to go back with Cam. He didn't travel well on the plane so we thought it was just too much for him plus it's around 2 degrees now over there....

Cam is rolling around like a pro and even sits up all by himself for a few minutes but still not crawling or pulling himself up. I'm going to enrol him in the gymbaroo classes from Feb, should I enrol him as a pre crawler? I did term 3 with him last year when he was around 6 months, we then missed term 4 because of China, but if I enrol him in the pre crawler class he'll be there with little babies, some much younger than him!

hi lovely ladies.

i have been reading everyones replies but havent had a chance to reply!

its been really busy here at the moment with christmas and working and now i am busy planning Hamish's first birthday! i cant believe he is almost 1!!!! it has gone so quickly. invitations have been sent now to just organise food and a couple of games for the older kids to play.

we will also be starting cows milk soon. looking forward to that :D

Hamish's sleep patterns have also changed. instead of having cat naps during the day and getting up around 730am, he now gets up around 6-630 am and is having decent naps during the day of one hour in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. yay now i can vacuum and mop the floors without worrying about DH being home to watch him whilst i do it. he is busy crawling all over the place now and at every opportunity that he gets, he pulls himself up and stands up. just waiting for him to stand by himself now and start to take the steps. yay!

afm, i have to go to my gp soon and get that lovely glucose tolerance test done again. there goes another 2 hours of my life a year sitting in IMVS having bloods taken :(
i might also get her to check my iron levels as i think they are low. is anyone else having rather heavy af since you had your babies?

anyway better go and rescue the tv from Hamish!

Same here - always try and read the posts but very rarely get time to write. When I do reply, it usually gets lost and I can't be bothered writing it all again!

Teresa - wow, that has been a quick year! Can't believe Hamish is almost one! Sounds like you have a great party planned - enjoy! Yip, also having v heavy AF - so much so that I have big dizzy spells lasting up to about 15 mins for a few days before and during. Must get to my GP and get checked out.

Beata - Cam will get there in his own sweet time! Fraser still doesn't fully crawl, but does this seal thing where he puts his arms out and pulls, bounces on his belly, then kicks off his feet. I don't think he will crawl properly any time soon as he gets to where he wants to go as it is (and very quickly - he can get from one end of the house to the other as fast as any "normal" crawler) so he doesn't have the inclination. We're going back to Gymbaroo in Feb and going to the same class as before Christmas, which is the mobile babies one. Fraser was the youngest in that class last year (most of the others were crawling and walking and he couldn't even sit up) but he had a ball and loved it. Glad to hear you are back from China safe and well!

HB - ooh, the dreaded bumps and bruises. My heart breaks for Fraser when he hurts himself but he gets over it pretty quickly.

Meercat - how's Tiah's sleep going? Is she still feeding in the night? Hope you get some unbroken sleep soon!

As for us, all going great guns. The comedy value is really here now and I love every second I spend with my little man. He's such a little character. Like I said, doing this funny seal crawl but it gets him to where he wants to go. He'll pull up on some things (mostly the bath) but really quite happy as he is, which is great. The only downside being that he does little chucks from bouncing on his belly and I have noticed his weight has dropped a bit (probably due to this). I'm not worried as he has a bit of a buffer there, but my carpets are taking a real battering. Had to go and buy a carpet cleaning machine the other day - although I clean up as we go, there is always a few little patches that I have missed and it's a nightmare to get out. Food is going great! He'll eat absolutely anything we give him (lumps and all), which is such a relief, especially as we thought we were going to have some intolerance problems. I have finally been able to get him off the Novalac Constipation formula and onto the Novalac Gold, which I'm stoked about! It mixes so much easier and it's cheaper :) Still not going great on his milk - spoke to the CHN about it and she said he's clearly a baby who doesn't like milk and not to stress about it - just get calcium in to him by other means. He'll take his bottle first thing in the morning (240 ml), the remainder of which goes into his porridge and he'll maybe take 60 ml throughout the day. Before bed, he'll maybe take another 50 ml but that's it! So, lots of yoghurt, cheese, etc, for us!

Mia, so good to hear from you! I know we are all so busy now. So happy to hear that Fraser is doing so well. I think I am giving Cam too much milk!! I start with a 180 ml bottle in the morning, then I give him porridge or weetbix with cow milk, then another 160 ml bottle around 12ish, then lunch around 1.30 which is usually yogurt & fruit, then a 180 ml bottle at around 4.30-5, then dinner at 6 which is veg and chicken or if I am lazy one of those heinz jar things with pasta or something, then I usually finish off with a 240 ml bottle at 8.30. I have noticed though, that Cam is not really interested in the last bottle lately. Could I be overfeeding him and should I try to drop the afternoon bottle?? Last night he hardly had any milk at 8.30 and then woke at midnight hungry so I offered a bottle which he took, but I don't want to make a habit of that. On previous occasions when he hardly took any milk from his night bottle, he was OK and still slept through the night....

Beata - Great to hear from you too! I'm not too sure about Cam's milk intake. The CHN told me not to give him too much milk - at this stage, he should be taking between 400 and 600 ml a day (which it also says in one of my recipe books). We're probably nowhere near that so we just add in extra yoghurt (he loves lentils and veg, so I bulk that up with yoghurt) and he loves cheese (like his mum and dad) so we give him little sticks of cheese, or toast with cream cheese on! Luckily he'll take anything in food form!

DH's mum was over from Scotland staying with us for a fortnight and while she was here, I was still offering Fraser a bottle in the night if he woke. She said to me that although she knows nothing about children (DH is an only child and was brought up pretty much by his Gran), her doctor told her that after bubs reaches 5 kg, they don't need a feed through the night. What she did was put DH in a room so she couldn't hear him, and he started sleeping through pretty much immediately. I'm not of that nature, so I tried just giving him a drink of water if he woke and after 2 nights, he started sleeping through! Probably just coincidence, but who knows. Fraser has 2 x 1.5 hour sleeps through the day (9-10.30 and 2-3.30) then down at 7 and he sleeps pretty much til 7 am- it's bliss!!!!

What a good boy Mia! Cam is lucky to sleep 1.5 hours in the late morning (usually it's closer to 1 hr) and it's a bonus if he has a sleep in the afternoon. Lately he has decided one nap a day is enough. He used to go down at 7-7.30 pm and wake up around 7, but since China (don't know if it's anything to do with it, but DF thinks so) he goes down between 8.30 & 9 pm and wakes around 7.30. I would love for him to go back to his 7 pm bed time, but he won't. It doesn't help that because he is overtired from no afternoon nap, he is struggling to get to sleep at night. What to do!!

Sounds like there are some mobile babies now! Indy can walk along holding onto furniture, he's had a few good bruises from falls :(

He has two bottom teeth now and he has given me a few good bites, ouch! Anyone else had this problem?

Not on the boob cos he is bottle fed but the other day he crawled up to my feet and bit one! Lol

yep Rooey, we have two top and two bottom teeth and man oh man does it hurt if she gives me a bite. And they say you should not react, just firmly say no and move them away. Shyeah right, think a male must have had that brilliant idea. How on earth does one not react when they are getting bitten on the nipple?!

Yeouchy! I can't imagine being bitten on the nipple. Fraser is FF but he used to pinch my arm when I was feeding him which was very painful. Had a few bites but nothing too severe. Fraser has both top and bottom front teeth through and the next top one is coming through!
I do wonder when we'll go down to one sleep a day. Dreading that as I'll get nothing done! I rely on Fraser's sleep times to work and if I have enough time, to do some cleaning. He's been a bit more sleepy the last two days - he slept 3 and a half hours yesterday morning, then I had to wake him after an hour in the arvo to take him to the docs. Slept well last night too, going down at 6.45 pm and up at 6.30 am this morning. I was freaking about him sleeping too much as we had an incident on Australia Day. We had a party and while I was inside bringing some salads out, Fraser managed to launch himself into the paddling pool, face first. He was ok but what I could hardly believe is that a group of mums were sitting round the paddling pool chatting and none of them noticed! It took a friend sitting over at the table to jump up and grab him, and she's 6 weeks from having her second baby, so not very mobile. I got such a fright - asked them to keep an eye on him while I got organised, then half an hour later it happened again, but this time he really inhaled some water. Was choking as the same pregnant mumma (again sitting nowhere near the others) dragged him out. I heard him, ran out and tried to get him to take a deep breath. I launched the pool then (the irony being that we spent all last weekend putting up a pool fence so this wouldn't happen) so it couldn't happen again. Yesterday, he was breathing really deeply and wheezing, on top of his long sleeps, so I googled and it came up with dry drowning straight away. Off to the docs we went yesterday but we got the all clear (thank goodness- I had every scenario running through my mind) and the doc told me the same thing happened to one of his kids and he still has nightmares about it.
Anyhoo, enough rambling about how bad a parent I am.

Oh my gosh Mia, that would have been so scary! The first time Indy faceplanted in the bath (when he first started sitting by himself) I almost cried. I grabbed him straight away but he had inhaled a little bit and coughed for ages :( I can't believe the ladies sitting near the pool didn't notice *facepalm*.

Totally not baby related, but my KitchenAid food processor came today! DP ordered it for me in the post-Christmas sales, squeal! I'm in love!

mia - that is shocking! i cant believe no one around the pool did anything and it took a rather heavily pregnant mum to do something!

rooey - yay for a new food processor! we are going to get a thermomix towards the middle of the year. pretty excited about that

as for teeth, hamish now has 8! at least this time he didnt end up sick with a cold like he normally does.

Hi everyone. I haven't been receiving emails about this thread and didn't realise it was still active.

Yay, the babies are getting so big and I am already thinking about Angus' birthday. We are flying up to Brisbane to have a party with family and will then have another one in the park down here with his playgroup friends. Angus is so quick at crawling around the house and loves rearranging the drawers in the kitchen and the bottom row of the bookshelf. We can't leave anything on the coffee table or side tables in the loungeroom either cause he pulls himself along and will find a way to it. He is very determined. He just learned to clap the other day and claps himself all the time - especially when he is getting told "no" :p

Mia - that's terrible what happend! How scarey and I can't believe none of the other ladies were watching!!

Rooey - Angus has 6 teeth now, but used to bite me on the nipple when he was first getting his top teeth and I almost gave up bf! OMG it is the worst pain and give me hot flushes just thinking about it. I never really made a big deal about it though and would sometimes just stop feeding him.

Anyway - I've got to go now and put Angus down, but I will try and do more personals later or maybe just catch up as I go.

RE: Sleeping - Angus was sleeping 7 - 7 and then stopped. I read somewhere about giving them protein at dinner and tried that. I think it really works, or maybe it was just a coincidence?

I don't even want to imagine the pain of a nipple bite with top and bottom teeth, ouch!

No biting here. Simple reason??????? NO TEETH. Whatsoever. Only little slits in the bottom gums where they will grow, one day.......and little bumps on top. But no teeth.

And I don't have to worry about having to put everything away, cos HE IS NOT CRAWLING YET!!!!!! Just rolling away, happily enough. Sitting up for long periods, yay. But not mobile. Sigh. I know I will whinge once he takes off, but why is it so slow with him? Teeth, crawling, pulling himself up. He's got such strong arms and legs, I just don't know why. Too much time in the jumperoo????? I've got him enrolled in pre crawler class at gymbaroo again. He'll be there with little babies :(

Beata - don't worry about it too much. All the babies in our playgroup started crawling at the same time, but Angus was the youngest at 7 months and the eldest was 10 months. Also, I was at a coffee shop the other day and the woman next to us had a baby around the same age. We started talking and it turned out her baby was a day older! She then asked if Angus had any teeh and I told her he had six, but apparently her baby had just got her first tooth! Another friend's baby only has 2 teeth and she is 13 months old, so all different I guess.

Wow - just thinking how nice it is that the thread is picking up again. I really missed reading about everyone!

Aww, Beata, hun, don't stress! They all develop at their own pace. I know it's frustrating - Fraser still isn't crawling properly - too busy still doing his impersonation of a seal! He gets where he wants to go and that's all he's interested in, which I'm sure is the same with Cam. If he can roll to get to the things he wants then he won't have the desire to crawl. A friend told me that as long as they are getting around and getting to where they want to go (by rolling, bum shuffling, frog/seal impersonations) then it is still classed as crawling. My doc also told me that the later they get their teeth, the better - no idea why (someone said it's a sign of intellect)! Please don't get yourself down about it - he and you are doing great by the sounds of things! One thing we were told (by Gymbaroo teacher) was to get rid of the Jumperoo as it was affecting the formation and muscles in Fraser's feet and legs. Even now, when he bears weight, he curls his toes underneath and it was the Jumperoo that started it.

Rooey - yay for the Kitchenaid! I always salivate at the yummy pics you post on FB- guess we'll be seeing some more? :)

Nat - we have the same problem with the coffee tables. DH insists on putting his coffee on a table that Fraser crawls under and it scares the bejesus out of me! I've heard that about the protein too. It certainly seems to do the trick.

Teresa - glad Hamish didn't get sick with these teeth coming through. F was the same - got all choked up and nasally when the first three came through, but seems to be okay with these two, thank goodness!

Yeah, thanks ladies. The paddling pool incident gave me a real fright. I guess the ladies didn't notice as they were part of one of my mothers group and they were all sitting chatting, deep in conversations, plus I know how quick Fraser can get in and out of places. Just makes you so cautious and feel very very guilty. We had been letting him sit on the side of the pool and throw himself in, but after reading about dry drowning, I'm going to stop that for my own peace of mind. We really don't want him to be afraid of the water especially as DH and I are not very good swimmers, so we're relying on him to be a true little Aussie and love the water. But there is plenty of time for that and maybe we'll wait until he's a bit older and can tell us if he's feeling unwell.

OMG - I'm so tired! I gave up study this year (graduating with a grad. diploma rather than my Masters). I thought that I would much rather focus on Angus and we are also planning to try for #2 some time soon. Anyway, we've been doing so much. We have gymbaroo, swimming lessons, 2 different playgroups that meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday + other things. I'm loving it because it is great to get out of the house and do things, but it's also a bit exhausting.

Angus is driving me a bit crazy at home because he is into EVERYTHING, but it's also cute because while I am cooking dinner he 'sorts out' the tupperware container drawers for me. Last night we all had dinner together at the table and Angus loved it. He clapped every time either DH or I looked at him. He's learned a new trick of sticking his finger up his nose - not a good look! :p

We have a birthday party for 3 of the babies at playgroup tommorow. I can't believe they are all almost 1!! The time has gone so quickly... Is anyone else thinking about #2? It's pretty scary when I think about it, but I don't want too much of an age gap. I think around 2 years would be good.

Has anyone gone back to work? I know some people have, but I can't remember who (apart from Teresa). How are you finding that? One of my good friends had to make a decision today if she was going to go back or not (and when). She's decided to go back in June, so we are going to go and look around at child care centres next week. If I can find a spot for Angus, I might go and do some relief teaching for a while...

Anyway, hope everyone is going really well.

I had to laugh when I pictured your little seal getting around! That's just gorgeous hun. Cam is rolling furiously ATM, and taking some pretty quick turns on the mat when something catches his attention! We have gymbaroo classes starting next Thursday, can't wait! Oh speaking of the jumperoo, Cam doesn't like it as much these days. He's much happier on the floor which is great. About time he ditched it! Thanks for your words of support and wisdom hun ;)

Nat, I think about number 2 ALL THE TIME. I so want to try now, but with DF being in China and the thought of him looking for a job when he gets back and trying to find a bigger house, something tells me we'll have to wait longer than June/July. Bugger!
Not planning going back to work anytime soon, primarely because we will be trying for no 2. sometime this year so no point of me going back. Gosh, you do sound busy lady! I guess I wish I was busier like that too, sometimes Cam and I get a bit bored but I'm too lazy to look for a playgroup, thank God we have gymbaroo :)

i am enjoying being back at work. i am getting the adult conversation and the brain stimulation that i wasnt getting at home. i love Hamish and dont regret going back to work at all. i really do love my job i think! i miss Hamish tho when i am away from him but its good to get a few hours to myself even if i have to go to work to do it lol

as for number 2 well thats quite a long time off if ever at all. DH and i are really happy with Hamish at the moment and i am still working thru everything that happened with my pregnancy and the birth. still scared to get pregnant again and having all those issues again.

afm, well Hamish is 1 next wednesday! that year has gone so quickly i cant believe it! he is now standing on his own for a few seconds so i think he will be walking by his corrected birthday (march 20) heres hoping anyway! we are having a little party with party food at our house on the 12th and is mostly family and a few friends. really annoyed tho as i put an rsvp on the invitations so i could organise catering and only 1/4 of the ppl i sent the invitations to have replied. apparantly my brother and his gf have some other kiddies birthday to go to that day so that takes preference over their own nephew. i am so angry about that one but not really surprised at all. i really feel like saying something to him.

Teresa - that's great that you're enjoying your work. One of the Mum's in my playgroup went back to work in December. Apparently her son just crawled over to the toys and when she said bye to him, he just waved at her. He actually cried when she came to pick him up! I think it's great for their socialisation skills. That's why I try to take Angus to playgroup all the time. I understand about you being worried about getting pregnant again. I am a bit scared myself and had a really easy pregnancy and relatively average birth (when he finally came out!).

Beata - that would be difficult with your DH being in China. I remember when DH came back on leave from Afghanistan when I was pregnant (for 10 days). It was really disruptive and went so quickly, then I missed him so much more!! I agree that it would be good to wait to be in a better position though before TTC again. We are in a pretty good position at the moment and DH is posted to his current position for about another 4 years, so we have some stability. Also, we're going down the ivf path, which took about 6 months last time (actually, DH wasn't in the country when I got pregnant!). You should join a playgroup though through Playgroups Australia. It's really good to chat to other Mum's while the babies play together.

Also, I think we have a little bully on our hands. Yesterday we had Playgroup at our house and one of the boys kept headbutting Angus. After a while he went to bite him! It wasn't just a little bite - he had a really Angry face when he did it. He then tried to do it to another boy and grabbed his face! The other little boy was playing with Angus' toys and he kept taking him off him, even though they were toys that he never plays with himself. When we were at a Defence Playgroup the other day, he crawled up to the table, pulled himself up, shuffled along and grabbed some food off a 3 year old! Cheeky boy - he's a little bit too confident sometimes I think :p

Hi girls, sorry havent' ducked in for a while, haven't been quite myself. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Well Matilda is almost walking took 5 steps today, am praying that it continues and she is walking soon. as all I can think about is how am I going to go to the supermarket when the new one arrives.

As for number 2, good luck girls, as you may remember I got a shock and found out I was pregnant pretty quickly after I had her. Am now 25 weeks and over the heat. Anyway, I didn't get post natal depression after I had her but got it or a type which was perinatal depression when I found out I was pregnant - apparently a mixture of post and pregnancy hormones. Was not nice, did anyone else get post natal of any type. Am just coming back to normal now. Definatelly was not myself.

I can't believe everyone's bub's are almost 1. How time flys. Happy Birthday to Hamish for next wednesday Teresa

Nat, I had a laugh when you described the 'confrontation' between Angus and the other toddler. I often wonder how Cam will go sharing with others, he really doesn't mix with any other toddlers. I'm gonna watch him at gymbaroo.....he seems to like babies and is usually curious when he sees one!

Bec, lovely to hear from you! I often wonder how you're travelling. I'm sorry to hear about the perinatal depression, didn't know there was such a thing :redface:. I'm glad things are returning back to normal for you, big hugs hun!

31becc -good to hear that you are going well now. Yes I remember how hot I was this time last year in QLD. Although it seems to be REALLY hot everywhere at the moment. Yay for Matilda having 5 steps! You'll have to get one of those twin strollers though for when she gets tired. I really want one of them (the umbrella ones) for when I go shopping with my friend who has a bub the same age. But DH won't let me because he thinks I will do more shopping! ;)

Beata - we are having 2 birthday parties for Angus. One in Brisbane with all of my family and any of DH's that come down from Nth Qld and then another one down here with all of Angus' brother's and sisters (from DH's previous marriage) and all his playgroup friends. The one in Brisbane with family will probably be done at my Mum's house with finger food and a special cake for him. Then the one down here will either be at the local park or our house depending on the weather. Again, I might do some really simple finger food and have cupcakes. I wanted to have a Thomas the Tank Engine theme (because there is a big 1 on Thomas) but I might end up just doing blue things.

Jayden is going really well - he's already walking the little cheeky and is very gorgeous but omg he's been a difficult bubba...he has such a temper and after a small frame of sleeping a lot better he seems to be waking a whole lot more again at the moment!!!

I am planning a "Rubber Ducky" themed party for Tiah :) She used to make this weird noise when she was nearly asleep, a kind of honk... and we called her "the Honky Duck" so it fits in well haha

I went on Etsy and went a little crazy, they have AWESOME party decorations and outfits for 1st Birthdays. Her dad wanted a simple party, but I told him birthday parties are MY domain.

Right now I am reading the No Cry Sleep Solution as well. Tiah is waking every hour at night and acts like her cot has electric eels in it, and I am only barely coping. First night and I tried some of the ideas and she is in her cot, she has woken twice since 7.30am, but is going straight back to sleep so I am hoping this works!

Beata - love the new name! Yes, we have entered Fraser in the Bonds Baby Search competition. It's probably the only time I will do it. We didn't go to much effort - just dug out a pic with him wearing Bonds. It's funny the amount of people who have said things against it - it's just a bit of fun to me! Haven't seen Cam's pic but will go have a looky see. I'll be voting for all the bubs I know in there. We haven't started swimming - might wait until next term now, but def wanna get him enrolled.

Well, Fraser finally started crawling up on all fours (rather than the seal thingy) on the weekend. So pleased. It didn't really bother me that he was getting around in his own way, but it seemed to bother others, who felt compelled to take pity on him (heavens knows why). I googled types of crawling (after mentioning it to you, Beata, just to confirm) and it is def a type of crawling -as long as they are moving forwards on their tummy, which he had been doing since November. So is rolling - it basically covers any movement to get where they want to go. He's climbing on everything now and will walk along with his trike, pushing it.

We've got DH's mum coming to stay for a month in a few weeks time. She's got a new boyfriend and asked to bring him. How would you guys feel about that? My initial reaction was no way, as I he could be anyone, but I feel bad, cos she let DH bring me over here when she lived here, without even meeting me. It feels kinda different when it's a man, plus I am a bit worried about a complete stranger being in the house with Fraser (not that I would ever leave them alone - I haven't even left him alone with DH's mum). A difficult one!

Mia - Yay for Fraser crawling! I know what you mean about the types of crawling. Angus did the commando crawl for about 6 weeks before he crawled on all fours. Some people (ie. my step mother and sister's partner) kept saying "oh he's just about to crawl any day soon" :wall: He was still getting around the house.

Re: first birthdays - I can't wait to start shopping. I really should get some invitations soon to send out, but I was thinking of making my own in microsoft pulisher. I say that, but it would probably be much quicker just to buy them and who is going to keep them anyway??

OMG, I have SO many toys. The house is being over run with them!! Definately don't want any more toys for his birthday. By the way, Angus is driving me crazy!! He pulls everything down and gets into all the cupboards.. And some days he is constantly yelling at me! He loves going in the trolley when we go shopping, but lately he tries to stand up in the seat, so I have to put him in the main part of the trolley. He just stands up holding on to either side while I push him along like on the movie Titanic :lol: He's really Full On - definately takes after his father!
