Thrilled - that is exactly what the home visit nurse told us too...she said you know you don't have to go to private paed...and gave us the same options. I made an appointment for doctor for 6 week check up and going to health clinic at 7 weeks for needles and back to health clinic at 8 weeks for a follow up check. The GP can write in the blue book!
Cass - the growth spurt is fun, hey!!!
I was thinking of ways to get stuff done and settle Soph.......I remembered carrying Willie around in it continously in the baby bjorn at home when he was little...so out it came yesterday arvo so I could get some things done. I also read, for windy babies the upright position in the afternoon can get rid of wind in the terrible early evening phase. Soph was more settled early evening. A lot of wind came out in her bath after I took her out of the bjorn.
She had a wind attack at 4.30am this morning though - ended up giving Shoph Infants Friend! But she did have a four hour stint between feeds 10pm to 2am so that is a step in the right direction.
V lucky today - Nanna has taken toddler for the day. DH went back to work yesterday - Soph was a shocker but toddler brilliant! Let's hope he has settled into the baby thing! Yesterday he said to DH - Mummy is busy with Soph!!! Think I will do some shopping for some winter clothes for kids today without Willie. Just have to get motivated to get out of the house.
Soph crying...gotta go...

I am happy to say that Sophie is all better and that we finally came home from hospital yesterday.
It appears she just had a bad virus, which apparently has been going around young babies over the past few weeks. She ended up having a lumbar puncture (performed by a Resident student dr who had never done one on a baby before - VERY SCARY - but he did a fantastic job!!) I really didn't want her to have it done, but in the long run that was the only test that showed up what was wrong with her. I had never really considered how difficult treating babies must be for drs, etc. It took 5 goes before the dr in A & E could get the I.V. into her hand as the veins were so small (and after all that, it clotted and blocked so they had to take it out that night and do it again!!!!) Anyway, it has really made me appreciate the public health system and how desperately we need money spent on our hospitals.
Sophie nearly always cries when she has a dirty nappy, so I never have to smell it for long!!
