Hi All

Peanutter not too much really happening with work; it just seems to have become very $$ focused & the managers are separating themselves from the staff (to the point they had their own christmas party). We have always had a very open, family type workplace and I know making money is the primary reason for being in business, but it should be the managers concern, not all staff's to know about. That's my thoughts anyway. All of the accounting staff are paid a retainer, then they get a bonus which is basically 45% of their gross fees less their retainer. Unfortunately admin (me + 2 others) get a bit screwed over in this regard as we are purely paid a salary (no OT or anything) even though we work a 40hr week (plus an hour for lunch each day if we get it). We had a big conference in July this year about where the practice was going & things they were going to put in place to keep the family atmosphere, but it just seems to have been a major waste of time as nothing has happened. Funny, being on leave you'd think I'd have no idea, but I'm sure I have done something for work every week since I've been away........ Oh well, the people are nice & there are lots worse places to work around the place.

Really nothing much to report here. Having a quiet one at home today, our only day "off" this week. First orientation day at day care for Alyssa tommorrow. Poor thing will probably scream the house down the whole 1.5hrs she's there. I really hope she comes to like it & I get used to her being there. If not, I will just have to give up work sooner & become a MEGA budgeter. Ok, well I might do a spot of internet shopping (well browsing) now. xo
