she is sleeping fine now and not sniffing funny, i dunno i am so much more panicked about scarlet than i was hayley i think lol, either that i forgotten what i was like 6yrs ago lol.
i think becuase of her needing the suction at birth and the breathing thing cause of fluid build up i panick more, they checked her lungs at hossy before we left and said they were all clear,
hubby is asthmatic, (what are the chances she may have it to)? (hayley doesnt as far as we no) and troys brother doesnt have it even though troy does

It could just be a cold traylee. If it's green it's an infection. If that's the case she needs to go to the Dr. But if it's clear it should be fine. And as for what Elijah wears, he wears wonder suits all the time. I just wrap him in a blanket as well. And little slippers. They so cute.
Pmccask - Its ok that you haven't had time to post. Totally understand. It's good to hear that bubs is sleeping good. Enjoy the time while she's little. It goes so fast. Oh and of course you should stay in our thread! It just wouldn't seem right if you left us. ;)

Phoenix - i'm not having pelvic floor issues but i was always good with doing pelvic floors plus using tummy muscles during preg to 'hold' everything.i think if you get into doing them it will all tighten back up :) lol on the preg BF,i did my first one sat lunch - same thing, sat in the car!
Sleepy - i didnt know about the bananas thing...i've been eating them everyday & it thankfully doesnt appear to be causing any issues..i've learnt a lot reading about everyone elses experiences.
Tiff - newborn,little one & sick...i'd have been in tears.especially doing it alone :) your a trooper!
JLeigh - you poor thing!we are trying very hard to not cuddle Zen to sleep either, the first few days he was straight into the bassinet then he had a couple of days bad patch where he needed that comfort. I'm so glad the nurse gave you some tips on how to cope...it can be so overwhelming!
Hi to everyone else!
AFM: we are starting to get a routine going - yippee!!. Zen feeds approximately two hourly during the day but every 4-5hrs overnight which is a dream for me cause I am able to get some decent rest during the night which makes me able to cope with his grizzles during the day. For about two feeds he needs cuddles to sleep so I have a sarong I tied up and hang him in against me so I can still get stuff done around the house.
We ended up getting a dummy as he wont settle during the day without it. he refuses to take it any other time which i am happy about.
I had a choice of doing the dishes or getting on here - its obvious which one won lol
I still have a coffee but only about half strength and only one a day, I drank 2 cups a day while preg so I dont know that it is a big issue now.
I'm so far able to keep on top of stuff, I am trying to do the super mum thing lol...not have DH routine change to drastically, often it will be me giving him Zen so I can do stuff rather than ask him to do it, plus he needs his daddy and son time.
I often give him over for a burping of an evening and DH doesnt want to hand him back lol
We both still feel like its all a sham, like maybe we have borrowed a baby or something, shopping with him was surreal! Every now and then I look at him and realise that this is now my life...and its terrifying, although I wouldnt change it
I said to DH last night that yes, I love Zen to bits but it hasnt changed my mind about only having the one. I know some ppl dont get it and think I am depriving him of siblings but thankfully its my choice not theirs :)
We are on the boobie and he seems to be doing well.Have to make an appt for his checkup this week. We have no idea what we are doing but are muddling through.

TinaR - Glad to hear you're both doing so well! I know what you mean about the typing left handed or with just one hand - as I am doing now! Lol
We had a pretty rough night last night, his feeding times are off! Woke at 12, then 4. So I didn't get up when my alarm went off! I was half an hour late in getting the olders ones off to school! Oh well least they made it! Hope to get a rest in today, sooo tired!

Traylee - I used a baby cotton bud for B's snot and it worked really well. He didn't mind at all! I have asthma too and worried a bit that B could too. Listen to S's chest for a wheezing sound and if you're worried, take her to the Dr.
TinaR - Awww, sounds like you guys are doing great. And don't let anyone tell you that being an only child is bad for them - what a silly reason for having another child! Do what you want and blow anyone else!
Sleepy - Hope you get some rest during the day today and tonight too! Do you have set feeding times, or feed on demand? I feed on demand, but sometimes his demands work better for me than others, lol! Lately he's been feeding at about 9:30, 1:30 and 6:30, which was great, but last night was off by about an hour, which means that we're up at 5:30 with a happy baby who just wants to play and two grumpy parents who just want to sleep!
Pmccask - You'd better stay in here! Glad your little family is doing well - kinda cute that A wants you all to herself too. Must make you feel pretty special.
Phoenix - I think DH is worried about me BFing in public cos whenever we go out he's like, 'Gotta get home, B will wake up for a feed soon'. Not sure what he thinks is gonna happen if I have to feed in public.... Keep up the pelvic floor exercises. It might take a few weeks to notice a difference, but it works (speaking from experience as I had trouble after my lap for endo and even now if I don't do my exercises regularly I get weakness still). I was pretty fanatical about doing them all during my preg too and I haven't had any trouble...yet (touch wood).
Sorry if I've forgotten anyone. Hope you're all doing fine.
AFM - Feeling good atm. B is settling into our settling routine well and we can put him in his bassinet awake and he does ok. We can at least settle him in there without picking him up. And he will take his dummy sometimes, which soothes him really well. Once he's calm he just lets it drop out.
His nails need cutting again - I can't believe how fast they grow!
Oh, and we did hand and footprints over the weekend! Has anyone else tried getting handprints from clenched fists - took some effort let me tell you! But it was sooo funny and we ended up with paint all over the place and a couple of handprints with only 3 fingers etc.

Tina- Its great that you are doing so well, but remember that you don't have to be supermum! If all that happens one day is that Zen is fed and changed, that is fine! And it's more than ok to only have one child no matter what anyone says, it would be wrong to have a baby just to give Zen a sibling.
JLeigh - Good to see the settling is going better, however when the midwife visited me this morning she said bubs wont get sleep association from holding them while they are sleeping this young, so dont stress if he needs to be cuddled to sleep! And I hear you on the hand and feet prints, I need to do them soon!
Tiff - I'm another that has to get used to your new name! Hope you are still going well with the girls!

Well we had a midwife visit this morning and it seems that Phoebe has a hernia on her belly button, which means she will need an operation for. I know that it is only minor surgery but she will need a general anesthetic which always scares me. It is also our first day home without DH. I have managed to hang out a load of washing, put dinner in the slowcooker and bath bub when she threw up all over herself, and T is fed! So I am doing ok. However I have just realised I havn't brushed my teeth yet, so will have to do that! DH just called me to telling me that work is sending him away from Wed to Fri so I have that to worry about now too...

Jleigh - Glad to hear you are feeling better and that B is settling a lot easier for you. It so hard not to just cuddle them when they are crying and upset. A is a real snuggler so I have to be tough on myself to put her down and let her sleep.
Tina - Sounds like you are settling in well with little Zen. I think muddling our way through things is a right of passage for all us first timers :) It is very surreal and yes terrifying to look at them and know this is it now, no giving them back - not that I'd want too.
My pelvic floor was fine through all the pregnancy, think it was getting A out that has done the damage. I do my excercises while I'm feeding since I'm not doing much else then lol, they are alot better than they were so figure I've just got to persevere.
Marni - Oh poor little P, when do they have to do the op to repair the hernia? Is it done now while they are little or when they are a bit older? You did alright this morning considering you are home on your own with two littlies.

Sleepy - Hope you managed to get some rest in after your rough night last night and that E gets back into his sleep routine again for you. I've been drinking Activite in hot milk instead as it's supposed to be good for milk production, though think the milk may now be causing wind issues......ahhhhh if it's not one thing that causes it, it's another I can't win at the moment lol and I really really miss my morning caffeine hit.

I can't believe my little girl isn't a new newborn anymore if that makes sense - enjoy your littlies they grow so so fast. Each day she is more observant and more awake, taking in the world. The CAFHS nurses gave us a sheet on the wonder weeks and what to expect, apparently one happens at 5 weeks so we've got that to look forward to this week or next. I'm preparing for a sleepless night or two.
Well I better off here, got to try and express some more - hopped on here just waiting for pump to sterilise & cool down.

Hi ladies,
Just a quick one as I have dinner on the stove.
Well DH went back to work today. I still wasn't 100% this morning (yesterday was so aweful, I hate tummy bugs!), H was quite unsettled, but T was great, played outside most of the morning so when I got to put H down I started getting back into the house work (I haven't had any help with the washing, so I have been doing the washing, but not folding or putting it away). Got all of the clean washing folded and put away, but still have 3 loads to get through, they'll just have to wait until tomorrow! :) This afternoon hasn't been the best, T is driving me a little bonkers as she refused to have a nap today, she doesn't do well without a sleep, but H has had a great afternoon! lol I guess I just have to get use to it all, I'm sure this will happen a lot!!! :D
I am feeling better this afternoon, thankfully. Got some bad news though, my grandad has had to be moved into palitive (sp?) care today as he has gone down hill VERY rapidly in the past couple of days. My uncle was over from the US and went home yesterday so I'm thinking thats what he was holding on for IYKWIM?! It breaks my heart that he is in such a bad way and my poor mum has to stand by and watch her strong, independant dad go through all of this. I think I'll be back down there this weekend so hopefully I'll get in another visit with him.
Anyways, back to dinner. Sorry for no personals... yet again.

Traylee - wonder weeks are apparently are a set of developmental milestones babies go through. There is a book but if you google wonder weeks you'll find some info, when the community nurse came for our home visit she gave us a photocopy of some stuff on it and what to expect when it happens like them being more unsettled, not sleeping like normal, being clingy and grumpy .

Someone asked me if I demand feed or not - sorry I forget. But yes I do. I don't know how to feed any other way. Lol. He wants to feed even when he has wind, but we get there eventually. I didn't get to rest today. Timing was all wrong! E slept for ages round lunch time, but when Cooper went down, E woke up! He has feed cluster feeding since about 4.30ish. I think he has wind, so I'm hoping he sleeps better tonight. Fingers crossed.
I finally getting my baby bonus as of tomorrow, so I'm out and about shopping for clothes and stuff. Want to go to target and pick up my other bounty bag....at least it gets me out of the house ;)

Not a lot happening here. H is having a good day, T wasn't too well behaved at her music class this morning, but I was feeding most of the time so its no wonder.
Thanks Sleepy, it is very sad, but I try to think what is best for him and being in pain as he is now is not good for him at all. Hoping to see him one more time.
H is definately awake more these days! She barely had her eyes open for the first week lol the second week she was a little more alert, but this past week she's definately bright eyed and focusing on us more, moving her head about and so on. She's also sleeping in longer stints at night, unfortunately not as long as what T would at this age, but I'm happy!
I too am demand feeding, but she's like clock work during the day now, every 2 hours. Shame it's not the 3 hours her sister did, but it's not too bad, at least I know when she's getting close, I do my best to finish what ever it is I am doing in time for her to start stiring for her feed. She is such a good feeder too. I think if I gave her both boobs per feed at night (as I do through the day) I'd get a longer sleep between feeds at night, but I'm just too lazy! I have decided to start transitioning her back into her own bed as of tonight, so I will do both boobs per feed and see how we go.
Anyways thats enough about me.

Sleepy - It was me that asked about demand feeding. I do too, can't imagine not feeding B if he was hungry, he'd be a nightmare! Just getting through the nappy change when he wakes up is hard enough cos of all the wriggling, finger sucking and head bobbing (though sooooo cute!).
Tiff - Sorry that you have to go through the heartache of watching your grandad suffer it can't be easy. :hug:
Glad to hear that H is feeding well. B is pretty predictable too - every 3 to 3 1/2 hours and one longer stint at night (around 4 1/2 to 5 hours). But he's been sleeping pretty much all the time lately - he maybe has one hour of awake time (all at once) in the morning but the rest of the day will feed and then want to go straight back to sleep until his next feed. When he's awake he's soooo alert and stares and stares at anything that's dark in colour. His fave is the picture above the lounge where I feed but he also likes the TV (it's black) and the brown curtain rod in the lounge. He'll strain to turn his head if we move him so he can't see!
Marnikat - Woah, I'd be scared too if B needed an op, no matter how 'minor' it is to the person doing it. When do they do it? I think you are superwoman - you need to stop getting all that stuff done cos it makes me look bad! How will you be without DH?
Traylee - A friend who has the Wonder Weeks book swears by every single one and says it was great to know what her little one was learning and also to be aware of when they may be grumpy or out of sorts.

AFM - Bought a new washing machine over the weekend - our old one was having trouble coping with all the extra washing now we have B. We have more than doubled the amount of washing we do now!
I am really enjoying B at the moment, even though I am still tired (make that exhausted ;)). DH and I can't believe how alert he is and how much he's learning every day. We've moved the mobile that was over his cot to over the change table and just stares at it while he's being changed. He tracks it back and forth with his eyes and sometimes when change time is over and we pick him up he strains his head to keep looking at it!

Tiff - So sorry to hear about your grand-dad, thinking of you & your family :hug: . I wish I could be able to feed in bed, I'm just not that coordinated, I'm can't even cradle hold lol - rugby hold is only way I feel comfortable. Glad to H is a great feeder & sleeper. I'm another demand feeder as well.
Jleigh - Activite is a bit like milo, I found a link on here about increasing breastmilk and have read elsewhere that said it's good for breastfeeding (it's even on the 70's style packaging lol) I like my hot chocolate in winter so figure kill two birds with one stone :)
Sleepy - YAY for the baby bonus and shopping, have done the paperwork and online stuff now just waiting, waiting.

in that book does it say anything about 3 weeks old being awake during day alot,
Scarlet has been awake since 3pm, and its now 6.30
she starts to fall asleep with the stupid dummy but of course it falls out and she wakes up, usuauly doesnt worry her once she falls into better sleep.
im hopin its just the age thing lol i dont wanna have a horrid night with her lol
i have her in a bouncer atm at my feet tryin to get her to sleep but she awake and sitting there, sooking at times but still not asleep

Traylee - That sounds like arsenic hour! We have it here too. Phoebe wants to feed pretty much hourly and wont settle for longer than 20 or so minutes in sleep. This goes on for most of the evening! She has only just fallen asleep in her rocker now.
Phoenix - Did you enjoy shopping? We are going out tomorrow as I have my car back and T is in daycare! DH car has been broken and only just gotten fixed today so I have been stranded too. I'm not sure that I would have ventured out with both children anyway.
Tiff - I hope you get your last visit with your grandad and it isn't too sad for you. It must be awful waiting for the worst.
JLeigh - Its fantastic that you are enjoying Bos! It is wonderful to watch our little people grow and develop. And I'm not sure how I will go with DH away. I must admit I like having him come home at the end of the day!
I am another demand feeder here. I don't understand how you could not demand feed babies? What would you do with them when they are yelling and hungry? My boobs would ache and feel awful! Also has anyone elses boobs 'settled in'? Mine don't really become engorged anymore, but she still has wet nappies and is mostly happy after feeds so I figure I have enough milk.

I think it's just our Belly Buddies on here so far...? But just in case, my name is Erin, I'm 25 and have just had my first baby, Harry Daniel Roberts, born via emergency C-section on 16 May at 23:23.
We've been home for 4 days and things have been going well mostly, I'm recovering okay from the surgery but still have a bit of pain, especially on our stairs. I'd like to share my birth story with you all (it's rather dramatic) but I'm too tired right now, so might try to get back on in the next few days. Just wanted to pop in and say hi, I'm here! Hope you're all doing well with your little people.

Ok...I am clearly the worlds worst poster...I have read everything....but seriously...I'm shocking at replying...I suck!
Tiff: Love the new name, still wanna call you Pishy though (but I won't!), I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandad, and I know exactly what you mean about him hanging on til rellies left (or make it for a visit), I think its lovely that he got to see T and H though! :hug: for you babe!
Phoenix: I hear you on the foods and drinks causing wind! At the moment, the only vegies I am eating at the moment are the nice fattening starchy ones! I can have potato, pumpkin, zucchini, parsnip and carrot without Little Lady getting wind....I had cut out peas, broccoli, cauliflower and corn (common culprits) and replaced with green beans, only to find they do it too!
I have found however, that 2.5ml of gripe water, mixed in 20ml of water, given throughout the day (we only get through one "dose" in a day) really helps get the wind up, and seems to make the ones she backs out instead of burps up alot less painful.
Traylee: Someone has already answered about the wonder weeks, but it you google it, there is a website that promotes the book all about them, it used to have a wall chart that summerised the book (then you don't need to buy it!) Basically it tell you roughly when your child will have big leaps forward in development, which in turn can often cause sleeplessness, excessive hunger etc (it basically gives you a heads up!!!)

JLeigh: Isn't it great when they are alert little possums?! Kaylee is a major sleeper, but when she is awake, its just gorgeous!! She loves watching Boyo trot around the place!

Thankyou to those who remembered Kaylee's hip appt yesterday
It was confirmed that she has "quite shallow" hip sockets, and will be put into a Pavlik Harness on Thursday for around 6 weeks.
Bit of a bummer, but because we caught it so early, 6 weeks is nothing! Heck next week Kaylee will be 6 weeks old, and its flown by!
I'm looking forward to her having a scan after she's had the harness for 4 weeks too, cause that will be in the week that the nasty chick told me would be the soonest they'd be able to detect a problem and treat it...I'll be able to "stick it up" the sonographer (she really peeved me!)
Other than that, not much to report...I'm still quite the dairy cow, feeding Kaylee, expressing the "leftovers" (usually I fill a bottle to the brim..around 300ml).
Kaylee feeds 4 hourly during the day, and around 5 hourly over night.
She fed at 4:30 this arvo, had a little awake time, then a bath and was in bed around 5:45pm, its now 8:50 and there's not been a peep yet!
I do a "dream feed" between 10 and 11 if she hasn't woken, then she usually wakes around 2:30 or 3ish, then again at 8am.
During the day she sleeps basically all the time between feeds, but she takes around 30mins for a really good feed, and then by the time she gets her wind up and has a little bit of a play (and around 900 kisses from boyo) she's awake for around an hour to an hour and a half.
She has a dummy, but also likes to suck her thumb, poor little darling can't decide which she wants....I think deep down, its her thumb, but she's a little too unco to aim it into her mouth accurately!
Anyways, I'd better go, I'll try and post much more often!!!

she didnt go down last night till 7.30ish lol but im glad troy took her for the night lol so i coudl sleep i was stuffed,

i may hav to kinda do same thing with scarlets feet, they are turned in, but nurse said it happens from being tucked up inside the hospital didnt pick it up only home nurse did, but she said should be the bones so hopefully she wont need surgery or the plaster things put on, we just massage her feet and legs to get them to turn outwards rather than inwards

My grandad passed away yesterday afternoon. No one expected things to go so bad so fast, but I guess things are just unpredictable. Needless to say I am devistated. I'm heading to SYD this morning and not sure when I'll be back, probably Mon or Tues.

I had Phoebe's 4 week check today. She is now 54cm long, 37 cm head and 4.6kg. She is getting so big so fast! The dr is going to fax a referral off to the childrens hospital for her hernia so just have to wait and see what happens there.

well i have just broken down in tears this avo, scarlet having play up time, we r gonna stop giving her a dummy since se wakes and cries anyways so no point,
but i just broke down in tears, she wont sleep, or settle really, she has bottle and burp and change and i was hurting in my belly a bit from holding her so i just cried and cried
i shouldnt complain i no as i have troy to help me at least nights or during day really (he has her now lol), and thne i keep teling myself well think ur self lucky some people cant have kids at all,
just she is so different from hayley, hayley liked her swing and bouncer and being bounced on bed to sleep, or rocked, scarlet doesnt like any really, soemtimes she can sleep in my arms or on chest but doesnt like swing or bouncer,
i no i am being silly and i no its a phase im goin threw, and i no its same with Scarlet i no she cant help it, i just needed to cry i guess,
sorry for venting just needed to get it out :(

Traylee - It's really hard having a newborn no matter how good they are or how much help you have. Just remember she is still really young and getting used to the world. It will get easier. In the meantime it is fine to cry and hand her to someone else for a while. Phoebe is a really good baby, especially after Tiana was so difficult, but I forgot how much they need to just be held - for no other reason then they want to feel close to you. Nothing much gets done around the house and your other children don't get as much attention. With the settling, talk to your health nurse - they might give you some new ideas. Wrapping can help too. Also if she wants to sleep on your chest, let her. We do that with Phoebe when she is unsettled at night, I prop myself up with pillows and sleep with her. Babies don't develop sleep assiciation till after 12 weeks so don't worry about spoiling her!
Vent away and just remember that it will get better in time!!!

Traylee - I know exactly how you feel - remember I had my meltdown about a week and a half ago. I found the never-endingness (yes, I know it's not a word!) of it the worst - I couldn't get anything else done, just had to be there for B all the time. Even going to the loo was a luxury! And it breaks your heart hearing them cry and not being able to help them. B is having a difficult day and had a difficult arvo/evening last night - seemed to have a touch of diaorrea (how do you spell it? Not a word I've had to write all that often!!) and tummy pains. Even holding him didn't make him happy. DH is my saviour because we can tag-team before either one of us gets too stressed.

i talked to a few people and they said possibly colic and stuff to,
i went and got some infants friend today and it seems to be helping with wind and burping so far, so see how go this avo with it
she is being good today so far lol hope it sticks

Traylee - Hope you feeling better, having a good cry always helps when it all seems too much to deal with. Your community nurse should be able to help with settling/sleeping techniques.
We went to a 2 hour talk at our local centre this morning and the nurse explained about the sleep patterns, play, wrapping & settling etc and since there was a only 3 of us, we could ask all the questions we wanted and got some 1 on 1 help with our issues......seems we all have very normal babies lol. I found it very interesting to know hat if they are sleeping 4-5 hours stretches at night, that is considered sleeping through the night at this age.
Jleigh - I hope B gets over his diaorrea(sp?) poor little fellow with a belly ache, when they have wind is bad enough for them.
Have to run, A has just woken and it's boobie time :)

I had a great day yesterday, got an awesome present from DH. I got the complete 2nd season of Greys Anatomy, plus he put $20 behind 5 of the discs. So he gave me $100 for my hair! I really need a hair cut. Might get some foils too.
I'm really sorry about no personals again, I'm finding it very hard to post these last few days. Altho I am reading them all from my iPhone. E was great last night, he went to sleep after the state of origin and didn't wake til 2am, then just before 6am. I spent the day with my MIL and SIL, so I am very tired now. I hope you all have a good sleep tonight!

Hi everyone, been missing in action for a couple of days, have been reading but everytime I go to post something comes up...Hunter wanting to be fed, bottles to be sterilised, washing to be done/hung/taken off/dinner to cook - oh the list is endless! Haha Feel like I am stuck in groundhog day at times lol!
Traylee - how is little miss going today? Really hope you are feeling better about everything today, it really is overwhelming at times! I had a bad day last week when bub had a bad night and I didnt get much sleep - I cried most of the day with little man! Thankfully, things are better now. Hopefully Troy is helping you out :-)
Tiff - so sorry to hear about your grandfather, my thoughts are with you.
Jleigh - how is little Boz going? His poops better now - bet you are having fun nappy changes! Good to hear he is learning to settle himself now - I cant imagine not being able to go to the toilet! The only toilet break Hunter doesnt like mummy having is the 3am wee - you know when you just wake up and need to go - I never know whether to go to the lou or go get the crying bub!
BW - you are quite the milk cow! That is so much milk...little Kaylee is a lucky well nurished little lady! How did you go getting her hippie thingys fitted? So sad she has to have that for 6 weeks but a little pain now will mean she will be more comfortable in the future!
Marnikat - how is little Pheobe going? Doesnt it seem like the bubs are growing up too fast! Where are our newborns going? Hunter is starting to get rolls on his legs...I think he will be around that weight when I weigh him next week! When will they do the operation on bub to fix the hernia?

Hi to everyone else Tina, Socks, Phoenix...ummm baby brain....sorry!
Whats been happening with us....we are growing so quickly and Hunter has started giving me smiles - so cute now and he really looks at me intently - most of the time without getting cross eyed! LOL We are really getting into a good routine now mostly, usually he is going 4 hours between feeds (within 15 minutes) and is a crying mess once he decides he is hungry! Other than that I appear very very lucky to have a bub who doesnt get upset very easily.....very rarely does the little man cry! He will whinge for a couple of minutes before he actually crys so I know it is coming but usually he is only crying cos he is hungry or doesnt like getting naked! He sleeps in his big bed in his own room and is happy in there (I have the monitor on so I can hear every noise he makes and he is only one room away) which is good. I was stoked last night when he went til 3am before waking for a feed, I thought yes he is going to last til at least 6 and maybe even 7am but mummy forgot to put the wind drops in his bottle and the little man had some wind issues so I was up to him at 4 and 430 anyway to put him upright and give him the drops. He didnt cry though just made some funny noises! We are loosely getting into a routine now which is great for me and he seems to like it as well...lucky for me as I dont have too much longer til I have to go back to work :-( I went and put his name down at daycare at a few places and I cried - I dont want to leave my little man but I guess I have to be realistic and pay the bills for him to have all the things he needs! At least I get one day with him though! I went for a new job yesterday which sounds great so fingers crossed I get that. Anyway, must be off to get a start on dinner.

we dont wrap her she dont like it and kicks them off, we put her in and put blanket on top, atm she is mostly in troys room in a little carry thing that zips around her,
so far so good today this infants friend is great, no more wind issues and she is sleeping like 3 to 4hrs today which is great,
yea i read 5hrs is full night for them,
scarlet is mostly 3 i thinks i ask troy but he dont check the clock, so when i hear her i check it to keep track,
anyways im feeling better today i hope everyone else is well
our nurse clinic is hard to get into,
i dont even have a chemist here with a nurse anymore, oh no wait there is one on fridays thats it,
i have rung the community health clinic and she is booked in next week for her 4 week check up there, cant wait , i might even take er down tomorrow an get her weighed at the chemist with the nurse

Yay Phoenix...our bubs are sleeping through :-) ALthough I guess it isnt really what I would consider sleeping through! I got 5 hours last night...yay! But I get 3.5 to 4 every night which is great! I consider myself lucky!
Sleepy - yay for presents and yay to E for sleeping well for mummy!

superstar, what wind drops u using, i just got infants friend today and she had it 2 times so far and sleeping great, (why didnt you tell me about these drops before lol)
i didnt think we would have wind issues becuase hayley was a good burper, scarlet is not, she farts alot, but very very hard to burp, so these drops are working for us so far,
and do you use them before or after feeds, in the bottle or via mouth,

infants friend....that amazing bottle got me through a couple of rough days. i found that i would put Zen on for about 2mins, take him off, pour the drops down his throat then finish feeding. he has got the hang of burping now though.
Tiff: :hugs: so sorry to hear about ur granddad, my thoughts are with you during this time, so glad he got to meet your new addition first.

Traylee - hope thr drops work wwell for you, the lack of sleep is what i find makes me feel like i am not coping...if i get a 'decent' amount during the night i can manage with ease.

Sorry for the quick exit last night - DH was changing B when he pooed over the change table, new clothes etc and DH was not coping, lol! Not sure why - B either poos or wees over his clothes and the change table at least once a day (does anyone else's bub wait til their nappy is off/just been changed and then poo/wee? Seems to be Boz's fave trick - we often go through 2 nappies per change!).
Happy birthday Sleepy! Glad you had a good day and got cool pressies. I need a haircut (and foils) desperately too!
Traylee - Sounds like the wind drops are making all the difference. All the midwives and the Community Health Nurse said you don't need a burp for effective winding, so don't worry if you don't get one. It says that in the yellow book inside our red folder too. B pulls his hands out of the wrap, but still sleeps way better wrapped than unwrapped - they say it mimics the cramped belly he's just spend 9 months in!
SSMumsy - Poos are much improved! The 3am loo/crying bub choice is a toughie - I usually hand him to DH in bed and go to the loo!
Marnikat and BW - I can't believe how old your bubs are already! Gee the time has flown...

AFM - I spent my birthday money on a breast pump and bottles today and am going to try expressing tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get enough over the next day or two to try an expressed night feed.
We're also going to start Bosley sleeping in his own room from next week. DH is struggling with being woken every few hours. Hopefully it'll mean we don't both wake everytime Bosley does (we can just quickly turn off the monitor) and with DH doing one night feed we'll maybe not be so sleep deprived either! Once DH goes back to work he'll need all the sleep he can get cos he has 4 hours of driving a day.
Bos is now sucking his hand all the time, drooling everywhere and is still pretty upset - I wondered could he be teething and phoned the health nurse but she agrees he's probably too young. She agrees we just need to persist with the settling strategies (wrapping, rocking, shhhing, letting him suck on something etc) and give him lots and lots of cuddles (which isn't hard cos he's soooooo cuddly! :D).

Majorly selfish post from me right now...
Kaylee had her harness fitted today....Poor little darling isn't coping too well.
She has always loved having straight legs, and now they are bent and she can't straighten them
She can't keep her dummy in her mouth...
She can't get her wind up (and feeding is way hard!)
She can't sleep on her side anymore
Its pretty crap for her right now...poor little munchkin...I'm sure it'll improve over the next few days and eventually all will be well, but I feel so sad for her...her perfect little world got turned upside down....

jleigh i wouldnt knock teething out of question, might be normal thing he goin threw, but hayley got her first 2 teeth in at 3 months old, so was teething quiet earliy,
when she was i got the teethign rusks (even though they say from 6 moths)
but if your supervising them its ok its cause of chocking, but thats what helps break teeth threw,
i was thinking same thing about scarlet cause she will take my finger and start chewing, but they also say its a comfort thing to well can be,
only way to no is keep checking gums for swelling and the whiteness
