BW - good luck with relactating! I can imagine that would be a tough journey. Fingers crossed things work out for you. When A was little she was on Zoton which also only came in a tablet, but there was one chemist (half an hr drive away) that made it into a suspension and it was so much easier. Hopefully Kaylee won't need the meds for too long.
Swaddling - I've got a qu. Does anyone have a bubbaroo joey pouch? E breaks out of any swaddle I can do and I've been looking into swaddling blankets in an attempt to get her to crack more than one sleep cycle during naps. I'd be interested to hear any opinions on the bubbaroos. A slept on her tummy when she was a baby and so flailing arms was never too much of a problem, but E sleeps on her back.
Boobs - I have one that seems to let down a lot more quickly than the other and as a result E struggles a bit with that side, especially if it's been a while between feeds, but the other seems not to drain fully and feels as though the ducts get a little blocked. They're crazy things!
AFM - we had a bit of a rough night last night with E not waking fully but being a bit unsettled. She's had a rash on her face and it's really started to dry out. I suspect it's itchy because every time she managed to get her hands out of the swaddle she is rubbing her face. Hopefully she's more settled tonight. She's certainly come alive the last 2 weeks though, which I think is contributing to her not resettling during day sleeps, but it's nice that she's more animated now. We've had a fairly busy weekend and have quite a few visitors planned for this week, so fingers crossed both girls behave themselves. The weather in Perth is awful at the moment and I'm going a bit cabin crazy not being able to go for walks. Hopefully the sun comes out soon!

Pm- swaddling, I too have a houdini! We use an ergo coccoon which is great! Also there is another one which I can't quote remember, if you want the name just let me know, they are zippered suits, they look funny but have been my lifesaver! You can google them! Hope this helps :-)
PM - Try the Woombie, Babies Galore also sell a similar one but I can't remember the name of it. You could also google the double wrap. I dont wrap as P sleeps on her belly and I use a GroBag.

yea to the reflux issues, i was actualy thikiing about switghing to the s26 anti reflux one but im not sure, she has been good and no brining any really up only spit up, but im still wondering about this play up time in avos, you no the squirming and unsettled ness,
she slept from 8pm till 4.40am this morning so im happy and stil asleep now, but due to wake up soon im guessing
Hi Marni - we are good, Hunter is back to sleeping through 7pm-630pm/700am with a dreamfeed - so everything is great! :-) Hopefulyl he keeps it up or my return to work will be difficult! Not looking forward to leaving my little man, but my family are so excited to be looking after him it makes me feel a lot better, he will have a fabulous time being spoilt, he really is the apple of not only mine and his daddys eyes but my mum and dad, my nanna and his aunty - all of whom will be looking after him. It has got to the stage if one of them knows I am visiting one of them the others arrange to go over for cuddles too - it is very cute! Although I am no longer important it is all about the little man! :-)

I am not sure if Hunter has any reflux issues, I mean sometimes he is really unsettled and I can hear him bringing something up but it doesnt come out (TMI you know when you vomit and get that burning in your throat - thats what I imagine it is) and we have spewing all the time...I think he gets every outfit he is in :-) so most of the time he is in a bib but it ends up on his shorts too. I am thinking of getting some thickener for his formula but will see how I go.

Traylee - Could S be suffering from a bit of colic, that generally starts up in the afternoon with them being unsettled for a few hours. I found infants friends a life saver, A is finally growing out of it and hasn't needed it for nearly a week now.
PM - I've got a houdini too but I started her in a growbag a few nights ago, I tried it a while ago and she wouldn't have a bar of sleeping unwrapped but this time she's sleeping no problems so think wrapping is might be just for the odd nap.
BW - Hello, best of luck with the relactating. How does that work? Hoping you can get the medication in suspension form, would make it so much easier to give to K - don't understand why they would make children/baby medication in tablet form anyway.
Jleigh - It does get easier having them on your own and you'll be suprised what a couple of weeks makes with the development & ability to amuse themselves. Just a couple of weeks ago I couldn't get anything done once A was awake as she needed my constant attention or cuddles but now she loves to sit in her pram or bouncer and just watch whatever I'm doing as I natter away to her. I just take her wherever I am, like hanging out the clothes or in the kitchen while I'm cooking.
Feeding - A prefers my right side, the left side she will feed off mostly but sometimes she can be real fussy and a pain so I swap her just to get the feeding done.
Question for everyone BF'ing - How long do your little ones feed for, most times A will only feed for about 10mins max. She's a real gulper so don't know if she's getting her fix that she needs really quickly. She feeds every 3-4 hours and sleeps right through the night, putting on weight and a generally contented baby so not too worried but just curious as to how long everyone else feeds for.
Someone is fighting their morning nap, better go and see if I can get her to settle so I can have a quick shower Have a great day everyone

Pheonix - H only feeds for about 10-15 mins these days. She feeds any where between 2-4 hours during the day and is satisfied. I give her both boobs, allowing her to come off when she's done with the first, giving her a good burp (even change her nappy for some extra tummy settling time), then onto the other boob. She is settled and gaining weight, so that a good indication if bub is satisfied and getting enough. T use to prefer my R boob, one thing you do need to be careful of is the left on doing most of the milk making and the right slowing its production down, you will get lop sided and it can be difficult to increse the production again to even things up, thats what I found anyways

B/fing - Boz takes anywhere from 30-40 mins to feed (around 20 mins on the first side). He doesn't seem to prefer one side to the other, but now I'm curious and will have to check!
Unsettled bubs- It is completely normal for babies to have at least one unsettled period each day. Boz usually has his in the afternoon, or if he's tired. I would try not to worry as I don't think any medication will 'fix' it as nothing is really wrong, they're just being babies! Having said that, it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.
Tiff - Hope your computer is fixed soon.
Phoenix - Most of the time B will sit in his bouncer and watch whatever I am doing - it's sooo much easier and heaps more fun for me than when he needed constant cuddles. I actually quite enjoy singing/talking/dancing with him!
SSM - Re: bringing up stuff but nothing there, B does the same (it sounds horrible!). I was worried for a while it could have been silent reflux, but it doesn't seem to worry him and he has no acid smell on his breath. Does Hunter?
pmc - Not sure if this is the same as what everyone else suggested, but one mum at mother's group uses a wrap thingie that has velcro so bub is secured. Sounds good. BTW - when one mum at the group said she doesn't wrap her bub, the nurse got all uppity and spent 10 mins telling us how important it is to wrap bubs until they lose their startle reflex. I mean, she went off!!
BW - Hope you get your milk back OK. Would love to hear how it all works...
Question - How is everyone going with their bubs and tummy time? How often do you do it and for how long? And how is bubs doing? B doesn't seem all that keen and I get about 2 mins max before he grizzles. We try almost every awake time. I do think he's getting better though.

AFM - Poor Boz had a mixed up arvo yesterday. He went down for a sleep about 5pm but instead of waking at about 5:50pm, slept right through. We woke him at 6:45pm for a bath, but he was fast asleep and I think would have slept through the night. He was soooooo upset when DH woke him and just bawled hysterically while we changed him. He calmed for his shower but bawled again when I was drying him. Surprisingly, he calmed down and slept from 7:45pm - 5am, then went back to bed and slept 'til 8:45am! He NEVER goes back down for longer than 1 hour (if at all) after he wakes from his long sleep, but has done 3 out of the last 4 days. Today he's only had two little naps though (is still having his second one now).
Seems A had her unsettled time early today.......she was a cranky early this arvo and wouldn't settle but she has finally admitted defeat and gone down for a nap - hope she still sleeps tonight as we have to be up and out the house at 6.30 tomorrow morning to get DH to airport. I must admit I am so glad she's grown out of the colic , there was nothing worse than seeing her in so much pain and not being able to do anything until she passed all the backed up wind.
SSM - A does that gagging/half vomit thing too, I can hear it come half up but like Boz, it doesn't seem to bother her except for the funny face she pulls at the taste.
JLeigh - Can't believe the nurse got so worked up over someone not wrapping their bub, I figure whatever suits the baby and if they have no sleeping issues don't see what the problem would be.
Well, it appears Mr Hunter is ready not to be wrapped, today he actually broke the zipper on his swaddle and it is stuffed. I have another one but when I put him down for bed tonight he was struggling to get his hands out so I unzippered it and am hoping for the best. I dont actually have a sleeping bag in his size (I have 2 6months plus) so I will go tomorrow and grab one. He has been down an hour and not a peep - maybe it is going to be easier than I thought. Mind you I still have it on unzippered so if he stirs early in the morning I will be back in there to zip him up. The midwife at our clinic actually told me I would have issues with stopping swaddling but it appears she is wrong. He also did 2 sleeps today without it, ok one it was actually on but when I went in to check on him after an hour and a half sleeping (usually he stirs after one sleep cycle and I hear him settle himself (on a good sleep) or I have to go resettle by patting) and found the zipper busted completely and his socks off, he must have been struggling hard in his sleep lol.
I dont think there is any acid smell, so I think I just have a normal unsettled bub...thankfully the other 22 hours of the day he is a happy little boy. Cant believe he is 10 weeks old tomorrow.
scarlet hates being wrapped, she has pretty much since like 3 days old, we just put blanket up to her chest just above belly button, but under her arms, and she seems happier, if you put it higher she pushes and fusses till it off lol
im hoping she wakes soon for a nother feed before real bed time, her last feed was at 5, she is asleep in troys bed lol so prolly wont wake for a bit lol
BFeeding - Elijah has feeds every 3 or so hours during the day. He feeds for about 10 minutes on one side, i usually burp him, then change his bum, then offer himt he other side. Most of the time he takes it, and has 5-10 minutes as well. He is sleeping thru the night again - phew thank goodness! He stopped after his needles, but I also think that had something to do with the pillow. I took it away about the same time, but I gave it back to him last night, and he slept thru. He is alseep now too, enjoying his sleep more with it. He also has a big sleep only once during the day, which is after lunch time, usually for 2 hours or so. Then cap naps until bed time.
Wrapping - I still wrap E in a bunny rug everyday, but leave his hands out. He doesn't like his hands being inside the rug. Plus I think it keps him warmer. I do have to look for the sleeping bags I have, see if one will fit him now...I can't remember..lol
ASM - We are coping quite well, still is a bit of an effort to get out of the house, especially when I'm tired. But we are getting there. I'm glad school is back, and it's good because E woke at 6.40, and my alarm was set for 7am, so it worked out well...enough time to feed one side, then burp and change bum before I had to get the others up. It's always good when I do most things in the evening before bed, makes it easier for me in the mornings. Plus I love my slow cooker! Sooo easy then when it comes to dinner time!
Does anybody else's boobs still hurt when they fill up? The "let down" feeling? Mine do some times, but seem to get worse when E sleeps thru! Thank goodness it doesn't last long!
Feeding - Phoebe generally feeds 3-4 hourly through the day. Sometimes a little more often but I try not to let her go any longer. She is normally finished feeding in 20mins tops. Effecient little bubba! Sleepy, I definatley get the let down pain. Makes me fold my arms over my boobs!
Sleep - Phoebe normally has a big sleep in the morning and arvo and cat naps in the middle. She sleeps most of the night though. Normally only wakes once to feed if that. The last 2 nights we have just popped the dummy back in and she has gone to sleep though! We don't wrap, she has grobags that I put her in though and she sleeps on her belly, just refuses to settle on her back.
Tummy time - She loves it! But she isn't a fan of laying on her back. She is also pushing herself up on her arms to have a look around too! JLeigh - Maybe try rolling towel up and putting it under his arms so he is propped a bit or let him have tummy time on your chest? He may like lying on you and watching you more?!
SSM - He really doesnt want to be wrapped anymore!

Oh yeah tummy time. E loves it. He also is pishing himself up to look around. He even lifted his legs the other day. He talks and plays then likes his dummy and just lies there on his belly for ages. Sometimes even falls asleep there. But if he does get upset I just move him to his bouncer chair for a while.
Tummy time - I probably don't give her as much as I should but her favourite position when I'm carrying her around is up looking over my shoulder, which the nurse said is the equivanlent plus she gets some every night when she gets a massage (if she's not throwing a tanty about being naked), am going to try some time on the fit ball to see if she likes that.

Tummy time - Phoenix - If being up looking over my shoulder is the equivalent, Boz is doing great! He prefers that to any other position. Marnikat - I often do a towel and Boz does like it. Can't do tummy time on my chest as my boobs get way too sore! DH does though!! Sleepy - Wow, Boz would never fall asleep on his tummy!
Feeding - Boz is all over the place with feeds and sleeps at the moment. So much for his 'routine'! Now he's feeding anything from 2.5 - 4 hourly and may have a nap straight after a feed, just before or not at all! Makes it very hard to plan anything. Today I had Mum's group and Boz didn't want a feed at 8:15 or 8:30 but at 8:50, when we were headed out the door he suddenly got starving hungry and we were late yet again! Then he didn't feed again until 12:45, then wanted another feed at 3:15. Who knows when he'll want another feed...
Sleepy - My boobs are still sore and full every morning and I often lie awake waiting for Boz to wake up! The let down can be really painful too. Not sure if that will ever improve. My slow cooker is on as we speak
Well, Boz has had almost 45 mins of sleeps so no doubt he'll be waking soon...

sorry havent been in for a few days been flat out.
Wrapping- May loves to be wrapped tightly with arms in all my girls have always loved to be wrapped and i have wrapped them for a long time.
Sleepy- We have been sleeping in to long for school was after 8 this morning and then i have to rush around trying to get them all organised. I think i should invest in a slow cooker cause i really have been slack this week with meals just cant be bothered by that time of day what type of things do you cook? i have never looked at them any info?? i am also the same i try to have most things organised the night before to does make it so much easier.
Tummy time- May loves to be on her belly she would much rather be on her tummy then on her back she has to be half sitting up to be happy on her back and wont stay there long she also likes to be up over my shoulder.
Marni- Is the zantac not working for you now?
Just a quick update from us May had a good night last night i am finding the bath really helps her before bed she slept right through last night
Reflux has really got bad and am off to the docs tuesday to get something to help with that has gone from mild to really bad seems to be getting worse
May has had some unsettled days which is not like her at all so am hoping the doc can help me with something.
Today she is even worse because we had to go to a funeral and the windy weather has not helped have just got her finally to sleep now i would say tonight could be bad.
Have got shopping planned for tommorrow with out kids so should be good just to get things done abit quicker and the weather is horrible here.
