Hi Girls

Art - PMSL about keeping a baby awake. I thought the same thing before becoming a mum and yeah, I've since learnt that is just isn't that simple. Izzy nodded off for her big night sleep at 5.45pm last night and there was no stopping her. She was out to it!

Kelly - who would have thought feeding your baby could be so difficult! Izzy is much better now during the days but she is a shocker on the breast at night - fusses and pulls at my nipples which hurts like hell! I'm not sure why she keeps doing it at night but it's driving me mad and I often wind up giving her a bottle just to save my boobs. Our feeds generally take an hour too, sometimes longer. She is quicker during the day for some reason though. Izzy has wind too but seems to get most of it out on her own - she farts like a trooper! It's hilarious!

Janine - if you can do a bit of BF as well, it will help with your supply. Emily sounds like she's doing great though - well done! Just be aware that both dieting and exercise will have an affect on your supply and I'm not sure the drugs will make any difference in those circumstances.

Sanchez - how are you going hon? Izzy has been quite unsettled since last Wednesday night. I suspected it was a growth spurt and the health nurse agreed today. Do you think V was going through the same thing? There is a pretty major spurt between 6-8 weeks. How is she going now with the brace off? Must have been weird for all of you! Does she fit into smaller clothes now?

Bloominroses - welcome hon! How is little Seth doing???

PB - you are doing so well given your rocky start with the feeding issues! I sometimes wish I had just switched to fulltime formula and saved myself all the stress with my BF issues. Lottie sounds adorable. I hope you're having a fabulous holiday. Can't wait to hear how it went and what you packed/forgot to pack!!

BoB - how's Jackson? Did the sling work well? We've only just started using our Bubba Moe with Izzy and she loves it. Nods off every time! She looks so uncomfy in it though but I guess she can't be if it sends her off to sleep. Slings are a damn good invention

Sangie - how's Ethan going lately? Sounds like he is an awesome sleeper! Very jealous!

Pooley - Frazer is doing brilliantly!! Have you got some pics we can see? What size is he in now?! As for the whooping cough, I had my booster before leaving the hossi (my OB arranged it) and DH needs to get his soon - must get onto that.

Hi everyone else!

AFU - We suspect Izzy has been doing through a growth spurt as she has been quite unsettled since last Wednesday night. She seems a lot better today though so hopefully she's coming out the other side. She has been super clingy and very hard to settle for her day sleeps - lots of crying from both her and I! Mum and I attempted a shopping trip last Thursday which turned out to be a disaster. Izzy ended up screaming blue murder and I wound up in tears so mum took us both back to her place and sent us to bed. It was so good to catch up on some much needed sleep.

Izzy was doing well with her night sleeps but that has changed with the growth spurt too. She's back to 4-5 hours between feeds at night (which is still great, I know!) and still waking at 5am to start her day. That is driving me nuts but the health care nurse said it's quite normal as they tend to tune in with nature. Bloody birds and no day light savings!!! Oh well, I'm sure 'this too will pass'.

On a brighter note, our little girl has grown again!! She had her 6-8 week checkup today and her stats are now:
- weight: 3960 (was 2962 at birth)
- length: 53.8cm (was 49cm at birth)
- HC: 38cm (was 34cm at birth)
It's any wonder she's been a bit out of sorts with all this growing going on! It's nice to know that all our hard work with feeding is paying off. Finally.

We had a bad night last night which was mainly due to the heat and both of us being overtired so we've had a lazy day in bed today. We have literally being lying around since 10am this morning. I managed to get a couple of hours of sleep and a lot of rest and Izzy is clocking up 4 hours and still going! She really needed the extra zzz's too obviously. I hope this is another sign the growth spurt may be over. Will be interesting to see how she sleeps tonight.

We had our newborn photos taken on Saturday and Izzy was brilliant. Was a right show-off for the camera and was awake for the entire session! She managed to wee on both DH and I (separately) too. Classic. We are going through all our photos this weekend (pregnacy and newborn/family) so hopefully I'll have some to show you guys within a week.

Better run and check on our sleeping beauty again. Thank god she is sleeping properly again. Woohoo!!

xx
