I have been lurking around, but haven't posted in a while.
Taurean - Sounds like you are going through what Ava has just started to go through... Unsettled and clingy. Refuses to go to sleep and then gets grizzly and overtired. I might have to get our sling out if she stays clingy, but I tried it on the weekend with her, and I find it comfy but doing much in front of me is hard... but it might be that I just need some practice.
I put her down after her bottle this morning, and she was quiet for 5 mins, so I thought "great! I can have a shower". As soon as I got in she screamed.. mind you it was fake crying.... so I let her go, and I think she wore herself out. She started up again once I finished and I put the dummy in and she is now happily off in la la land, mouth wide open. Feel bad for making her cry, but I got OB and normal docs to go to today as well as mothers group... And I really feel like taking a page out of your book and having an all day bed day! That sounds really good to me right now!
We are now on full time formula. I gave the last of the EBM over the weekend and Im happy. MHN said that she has gotten all the needed nutrients and antibodies etc over the first month, so has got a good start. We had a weigh in yesterday arvo and Ava is now 4.88 kg (10 pound something) and is 54 cm long! She was 3.2 kg when born, so is a little guts when it comes to food. She is taking anywhere from 120 - 180mls each feed. Sometimes she will guts 180 down for two or so feeds in a row. Im guessing that it is the days when she is having a growth spurt.
We went to Point Lonsdale (Vic coast near geelong) for a long weekend. I have discovered you can't pack light when you got a bubba! Prams, sling, bedding, clothes, nappies.... And the list goes on. But I have to say, for her to be in a strange enviroment, she really coped well, and slept well! I got 9 hrs out of her one night! but I think that was a fluke. The last day we hopped on the Queenscliffe - Sorrento Ferry and went home the long way via a friends place and from their place to home she was fast asleep! So I really can't complain too much about her at all!
Hope you ladies are all doing well. I must get organised to get to the GP, and hopefully it means I can be home for a rest before the OB and mothers group this arvo. I have the CBF's today. Would be happy snoozing on the couch in my PJ's!! But I might just have to reserve another day this week to do that!
Hugs to your bubs! XO
