Arte - i hear ya sista, we are the same here with the wake ups... i have to admit i think N is a little better since we dont sleep in his bed with him anymore... but it is prob a coincidence... and it does mean DH or I are up in the cold nights with him...
Rainy - so glad you are feeling better and it also sounds like yo uhave def made the right call re care. sooo gorgeous L is so excited about J, i am sure we will get to that... just dealing with the transition phase
Trill - thanks for your advice, will keep it in mind.. am sure it is worse in my mind than in reality
MD - how are you today? roid woman? tingly hands again? or smooth sailing? (i hpoe the latter). when is DD1 party rescheduled to?
Kate - hope feeling good today
AFM had a good day - main task was mega wxing LOL (was 2 wks later than usual) and the good news is there was no bladder issues or waters breaking LOL! i remember worrying about the same thing last time around. tomorrow i have acupuncture again and hoepfully cupping for my back so thats good... looking fwd to that. think i will start epo soon and also am upping the RLT so hopefully things will happen soon. think i am feeling less than last time around... sorry girls i should prob keep these updates out of here... (will keep in mind) and in the preg section...
N is currently obsessed with a peter alexander bag - takes it everywhere. he is also calling himself cheeky bugger and bubbalicious alternatively - adorable!
have a good evebing ladies - i am out for dinner with my mum who is in town for work.
Nooooo Pregpan, keep all your updates in here!! I'm soooo loving every thing your writing, it brings back memories, pregnancy is such a special time, no matter what aches and pains and problems. I'm not ever going to have that joy ever again so I just loooove that I can still be here and hear about from you and all our other lovely gorgeous preggie mummies!! xxx
Trill - you poor thing with the mice. Pity Beags the mouser isn't still with us, I could've sent her over to you for a holiday. She was this little fat dog who was lightening fast whenever it came to food, and mice/rats/rodents/lizards all fell into the food category! She stayed a friends house for the weekend and flushed out a rat who he'd been trying to catch for a couple of weeks LOL. Yay for your tupperware, I"m dying to have the tupp pantry makeover...one day I'll get myself organised and have a party and get some bonuses that way. In our case I just need to do it because we don't have a pantry cupboard and all the packets get lost in amongst each other whereas the tupp stacks in layers.
Trill i have been eyeing off the wooden cutting food on ebay... they have some nice ones on there.
BTW for Paige's bookshelf, I reckon you should get a plain wooden one (you can buy them raw fairly cheap at Bunnings/Big W etc) and then paint it up in however many colours you like. I've done this, i use sample pots of paint from Bunnings (which are water-based) and then I rub beeswax over the top to finish it. Get the liquid beeswax if you can, it rubs on beautifully. You could even get some mdf cut out shapes, paint them in a contrasting colour and stick them around the outside, kwim? Haha it's not like you're not already busy enough, lady!
Re DD1's party - next weekend!! Better get my A into G... although I'm delegating catering to the resident chef.
Arte, are you going to send DH up there with a torch, I don't know how you stand it preggy lady. I sooo know what you mean about the cold walk up the hallway...brrrr. How's the blood sugar situation going now? LOL at your supermarket helper! When we go to the shops, DD1 wears her heelies (sneakers with the wheels on) then holds Missy E's hand and gets her to pull her around the shops PMSL. They both think it's hilarious.
Rainy that's great the director was so understanding, you know L and what he needs better than anyone. And if you change your mind and decide to try again whenever they will get him back in.
Hands aren't so tingly today, saw my shaman-dude on Monday and he's given me some energy exercises to do specifically for my hands so I hope that's helping...likewise with the bladder. Also I'm not totally overwhelmed mentally this time so I'm taking all my vits and herbs and things and I'm sure consistency there will make a difference too. Feeling fine but a bit geed up but tired at the same time. Thought I'd come home and race around and cook tea before DH gets home but that soo aint gonna happen today.
Just wanted to tell you all I had a fabby day today, had to get out of the house cos i left my pills at the hospy so had to drive in for them, went a bit further to the alternative health centre, picked up some fabby books written by awesome inspiring peeps, then got to call in unannounced to have a cuppa with my stepmum who really needed the pickmeup today. Then *highlight* popped into the Haighs factory shop and not only did I score some seconds(!!!) they also had these gorgeous chocolate fondue sets - very simple looking, so I snapped that up for treat-times! Never done a chocolate fondue before but their recipe contains 200g of haighs choc so might have to save that for a special occasion I think (....like this weekend haha!). Then I rocked on over to the public library and for some reason they had a particularly awesome collection of DVDs lined up together on the shelf so our viewing is sorted for the next month! Plus I'm HIGH on steroids so I was a very good day PMSL.
Love to Jazah, and Noni, and Oz and anyone else we haven't seen for bit xxxx.
Ah I'd better stop typing now, I'm doing my manic steroid-lady thing and typing a million miles a minute LOL.
Oh, and just in case I don't get on tomorrow morning (Big Day in our house)...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLY!!!! Hope you have a gorgeous day and get treated with all the love and lavished with all the treats you deserve! Make sure you have a cuppa and a piece of cake and think of us
MD-good luck 2moro. Hope ur nail cuticles r ok. Hi to missy E! DH bought the Haighs fondue for my bday - its beautiful. Did u get the dessert block. My love to u for 2moro and DD1's party.
Hi t everyne else. Sorry I dnt havr time for personals tonight (gotta go out). Then again when do I ever write real good personals. Lol. I am such a bad bb member...
SupaB, I watched McLouds today, seems that I have missed you because Stevie now has a baby and Alex appears to be dead?? Do you know what happened to him?
MD, we had a lab/staffy X that sounds like your Beags - she was a couch ornament but as soon as someone crinkled a packet she was at your feet like a rocket! Once she broke into my bro's fundraising cookies, so silently that I was in the next room with both doors open and didn't hear her rustle a single packet, she got them out of the individual plastic wrappers and munched away. She did such a perfect job that bro would have got the blame if I hadn't walked past and caught her in the act lol I always think it was appropriate that they were bone shaped biscuits fundraising for guide dogs!
Blood sugars seem to be tracking fine at the moment, have had a few higher readings but nothing too major. I looked at my notes from last time and they got high around 31 weeks and I was on insulin by 32 weeks, so I guess I will see what happens over the next month.
Well done on the choc fondue set, sounds like fun.
Cally, hope you have a great day tomorrow!!
PAP, don't stop talking about your pregnancy, I love how our little september family is growing! So exciting.
Arte - Oh Oh Oh thats one episode I did watch!! If I can remember correctly, Alex got stuck under a fallen tree log somehow (cant quite remember how it happened) with poor Stevie by his side, heavily pregnant, & desperately trying to lift the log. She cant though & poor Alex dies. I bawled my eyes out because Stevie was so upset & she had to give birth without Alex by her side, & then she rejected the baby, and then and then...I could go on all night lol. W is SO smart! Love the new pics on FB. Oh no here I was whinging about M's sleep & you are heavily pregnant & half falling out of W's bed! Sorry, I hope he starts sleeping through for you soon, I hope we all get some much needed rest!
Rainy - Well thats good that the director didnt push for L to stay, at least she has his best interests at heart & not thinking of money - which is reassuring for if you want to try him there again down the track. Otherwise us kids never went to daycare, just started at kindy like normal.
Cally - Happy birthday for tomorrow!
Trill - Those mice sound like they are breeding like mad! I cant believe they just run willy nilly in the fields!?
MD - So glad you had a nice day! You made me laugh with your steroid crazy typing lol!
PAP - We love hearing about pregnancy! LOL at N calling himself cheeky monkey & bubbalicious (thats a good one!)
Thanks girls for the tips on extra snacks etc. M ate more than usual today, & she didnt want to sleep, so hopefully tonight I will at least get one night of block sleep!
MM, don't apologise for complaining about the tiredness - I fully remember how tired I was first tri with W, I couldn't have managed to get up in the night back then. I got off a lot lighter this time.
Well, I guess it is what I should expect for complaining about being woken up during the night - last night I was again woken 3 times, followed promptly by being vomitted on. The moral of the story - it can always get worse!
Rainy glad the ab's kicked in quickly for you. When I had mastitis I couldnt even raise my arm.
H are your Gypsy or Madsmum??? How did M sleep? L has just started going back to his big bed and sleeping through the night without waking, it will happen for you. I remember all to well how tired you get those first 12 weeks.
I am having a brain fart and cant remember anything else. So I hope everyone else is doing well.
morning everyone
just a quick post before i head off for my acupuncture appt and coffee (gotta getout fo the house for the cleaners)... tough life!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALLY! hope you have a fabulous day.
Arte - I hope W is OK - what anight!
Rainy - glad you are feeling better. did you get mastitis last time?
MM - hope you got some sleep last night....
N is still acting up, DH and I are wondering if maybe the QE2 is too much this weekend? i mean he seems ot be really put out, i dont want him thinking we are traumatising him. the sleep isnt perfect but it is a lot better so mabe i can put it off for a while. or are we just chickening out???
MD glad you are doing well - you sound very high LOL!
back later.
Pregpan - Nooooo don't chicken out! He won't be traumatised by it (the methods get even gentler after 12 months cos kids have an understanding of mummy not being there), and this is prolly your last chance to get it sorted b4 bubs arrives. Enjoy your cleaner-enforced morning out LOL!
hey everyone
happy birthday cally!!!!!
am sooo tired i just cant function!! just want asha to go to bed and not get up for a few days i need a break damn it!!!
MD: can you, when you are on a roid high come over and write my thesis???? i sooo need some million words an hour type typing...
good luck for today and have heaps and heaps of fun!!!
PP: dont you dare deny us your lovely pregnancy journey LOL! we LOVE IT!
Noni: oohhh lack of sleep is the pits man! here's to Asha giving mummy some time out!
Oz: brain fart is just so apt! so cool. man your ticker is certainly ticking along now too! far out brussel sprout!
Rainy: yay for the ABs! glad to hear that you are feeling better. that's awesome that there is no pressure with the daycare spot. so lucky that you can opt out and then have a chance to put him back in. sounds like the best decision!
Ange: HELLO!!! Ha ha, nothing like technology to send us bonkers.
PP: if it were me, i would be scared of going to QE2 BUT i would also just take a massive leap of faith and go for it. if you turn up, spend a couple of hours there and it is totally giving you the heeby-jeebies then pack the bags and go home. at least then you know ITMS.
Arte: definitely time for your DH to get the torch and go a mousin'. if not, your nesting spate at 35-6 weeks will go beserko lol!
MM: hope you get some good shut-eye tonight! I have totally forgotten what the first tri tiredness is like (oh yeah, and last time we could indulge LOL!).
AFM: just had a meeting with my supervisor. they always seem to send me on a bit of downer. nothing bad happens but nothing positive either ITMS. very hard to get feedback, which is scary when you are producing 100,000 words of research all on your own and it will need to be sent out to experts in the field in a matter of months. terrified ATM.
Leila is just devine. we are enjoying her heaps ATM. lots of fun and games. last night we went to the Aus Vs Japan soccer game and leila smelt a rat (maybe it was Artes LOL!). and bawled her eyes out as we left crying out: 'andiamo andiamo' (meaning, let's go, let's go!). sooooo hard! but she was in good arms and they tell me that within minutes of us leaving she was pushing books onto them and playing with her dolls . (we also had a great time LOL!).
pap- no i never got mastitis last time and it's weird cos i never felt engorged at all. jimmy feeds heaps but he's a really quick feeder, doesn't like to suck for too long.he's such a fatty now, you guys wouldn't believe it.
i can understand you chickening out of the sleep school thing. remember i was booked in to go when i was pg and pulled out 2 days before..i just couldn't face it.
how many times a night does N wake?
jimmy's doing really well now. only wakes about 4 times a night. lewis usually sleeps through with the occasional wake up...gees i can't wait till the day i can sleep a full 8 hours!
clare-any new house prospects on the go?
noni- can your mum come and help out for a while or something?
ange-hi there! do you wanna catch up next week or week after?
not much to tell around here...
some friends from mothers group are going away fora couple of daysnext week and have invited me to come. i feel really torn as i don't want to miss out-or lewis to miss out as they're doing some cool stuff like going to see the fairy penguin parade and going to a big playcentre-but i'm really anxious about the whole sleep time thing on my own without dh. there's only one other mum going with 2 kids, and tbh i think her kids are both very 'sleep trained' iykwim? mine aren't...i just don't knowhow i'd cope in an unfamiliar environment without all my resources-eg. rocking chair, swing etc. and no dh....and i would be mortified if my kids' screaming kept everyone else's kids awake. i'm just not sure it's worth the stress...but then i never do anything these days and i hate missing out. what do you guys think? if i just had lewis, i would definitely be in..but jimmy's a whole nother story! lol
rainy - i would go! you may find it is easier than you expect and it will be nice to get away... and you will have the other mums to help you esp with L and he will have a ball... that said i am freaking about having 2 at home during the day by myself so i may be speaking out my a*s!!! ha ha ha! it sounds fun though, is it close enough that if it is a disaster for a night you can go home? is there one of the mums you can confide your fears in so she may help out a little?
well - i chickened out of QE2... even dh was feeling unsure. i still have my place so can go when the little one is home if we want to... to be honest it has improved a little and if we dont both feel ready to go... oh i am making excuses now!
he wakes up anywehere between 1 and 3 times now - it is more the length of time he is sometimes awake for... but not as bad as it had been.. so we are getting better...
Arte - ha ha ha re your lack of nesting, i was the same last time i think it got me as far as calling some cleaning agencies. i am no dom goddess. i think the instinct is a bit more there this time... though there are more lists than action happening here i must admit.
my mum is here tonight for work so she is doing the bed routine and dh and i are popping up the road for dinner (a fab italian just openened at our local shops - i went there last night with mum LOL!!). she is so fab... she also had a night sleepover here on sat night so dh and i 'got away' (ie stayed at the hyatt 5 mins from home) on sat night. she is wonderful. found out last night she has ended things with her partner though (i had suspected this for a while) - but she seems to think it is best and to be honest she seems happy about that.
Noni - when is your mum next having an asha day? sounds like you could do with a break. is there any occasional care nearby asha could go to for a bit as a last resort? btw what happened with the child care place (you were waiting for bond or soemthing?)?
well i am 37 wks today - BING baby is COOKED!!!
my ob mum passed away last night... so my appt with him next week is now with the middies... hmmmmm... i am ok with that but my next apt iw ill be over 39 wks (N was born at 39 wks) so i kinda want to see him in the interim. esp as he was going to do an exam to see how things are progressing.... i know middie can do it of course but i kinda wanted to see him. maybe i will see if they can get me something the following week. i just need to know how things are progressing (or not). i am starting EPO tonight and labour bag is partly packed. but i am not feeling anything this time...yet!
AHHHH PAP so exciting!!!!! Cant wait!! I'm sure the midwives will look after you next week and answer any questions you need answering. Fair enough on not doing sleep school, things will fall into place eventually & you can always go down the track if need be - but fingers crossed you wont need it for either of the kids!
Rainy - I can understand your worry, I would feel exactly the same. I got barely any sleep that time we went to Melb to see family as M was waking at night, while their bubba slept, & I was so darn paraniod about her waking everyone that I may as well have slept with one eye open. However it is only one night, & I'm sure these mummies will be understanding.
Clare - Exactly!! Last time we could be as tired as we wanted & just sleep allll day & sleep in. haha, not anymore! How good is L's italian! Are you fluent in it?
Noni - Hope you get a break, I so know what you mean.
Oz - I went back to MM, Gypsy was annoying me. Besides I can hardly be a gypsy anymore now that I am utd!! Looks like we are staying put forever lol. Yay for L sleeping in his bed, what is the trick?! lol
Arte - Is W still unwell? Poor mite, must be a bug?
Girls I have been a tad worried about M's language development, however literally over the past couple of days she has been saying things out of the blue. I find that she responds better to children, whether they be her age, or older, with talking iykwim? Like yesterday I was waiting for a blood test & a little girl around 7 was playing with M, & she would pass her building blocks & say the colour & M would attempt to repeat. HA & here I am doing that with her & she rarely repeats to me lol. Anyway I was reading to her today, and I said 'clock' & pointed & she said it back to me! I just about jumped off the couch! Unfortunately her latest word is a big whiney 'nooooo'. That would be right
Also still no wees or poos on the toilet, but she loves sitting on it, wiping, flushing & washing hands. I am having fun with this stage as is she, besides I am not really planning on getting right into it until the warmer weather arrives. How is everyone else going with tt?
