Oh PAP - how exciting. i have got shivers down my spine for you in excitement. I love that 37 wks today, BING baby cooked. LOL. good luck sweets, will b thinking of you.
mads mum - where is gypsy gone? i wouldn't worry at all about M's speak. they just take it all in and one day you won't be able to shut her up. T has done the same thing, repeating things that OTHERS say to her and not me. little poo. its like when she goes to IL's and she (apparently) eats the house down and sleeps 3 hrs during the day. she ain't do that at home! darn it.
Clare - yes i am worried about this. last time so easy, just sleep in til 11am, but this will FORCE us to be organised. bum. i will b forced to go to bed early like a real family. i haven't been avoiding this honest...
u r doing so well with the TT. i haven't even gone there really, she flushed the toilet the other day after mummy had been and i bought her a lil stool from ikea so she can reach the water for her toothbrush. she doesn't like sitting on the toilet crying thinks she will fall in.
AFM: T's face is healing.. slowly. haven't told mum yet, try to avoid that. i will get a lecture blah blah. not worth it.
I am pleased to say that i have found Cassius in the TTC thread, so we r in this together. isnt that nice. now why didn't we time this so we could all go together like last time? hee
Hi Renee! I am nearly 29 weeks now - there was a new pregnancy each month for a while there - Pregpan, Noni, myself, Ozstar... our family is growing!
MM, thanks for the telly update, it was really bugging me how Alex died (simple life lol)
MD, hope everything is going well, thinking of you.
PAP, I am so excited about your impending arrival! I just cannot believe how quickly this year and all these pregnancies are going!
It is very cold here today, I think it was a -6 degree frost. It must be cold when the firewood is frozen together lol
Going down to mums for a few days so won't be around much, hopefully I will get my shiney new curtains sorted so our lounge won't be the el-cheapo version of Big Brother - everyone that walks past takes a gander lol
Oh, W is fine again, no idea why he woke up and started chucking. Has a snot nose though so must have just been a passing bug.
hi girls
had a bit of a bad night here with jimmy so i think it's confirmed that i should give the little trip away a miss this time think i finally got him to sleep around 1am....and then lewis wakes up bright and early at 6am.
spending the day today at dad's so that should be nice. lewis has already tipped out a whole tin of biscuits and tried to vacuum the cat.
i'm not gonna bother with toilet training till next year i don't think.
hayley- i think you should change your user name to Comet.
Rainy - Im not bothing with TT for a while now too haha. The first time I put Rory on the potty he went straight away! But every time I ask him if he needs to go wee wees or poos he says "NAH" and runs off. He also has a sneaky trick of telling me he needs to go wee wees and once on the potty running away nude! He just likes getting his willy out!
Enjoy your day out at your dads!!
Art - Glad W is better. Eeep so your not JUST pregnant LOL your well and truly UTD haha. Congratulations all the same. How has it been so far? Do you know what your having??
Girls has anyone had a period a week after the 1st?? I posted about it in the TTC section but I didnt really get any answers.
hi everyone
hayley i love rainy's idea of comet.. cute! yay for M's word explosion... i think they do react really well to kids - i know N LOVESplaying with older kids (when they let him). i spent the morning at a play centre with him this moring and he hates the section for his age, but loves the older one - which is weird as hephysically isnt really advanced enough for it. we had lots of fun though (til he had a major tanty when it was time to go..). he is exhausted now so i am hoping for a long sleep today!! we arent trying tt at all - am i behind here? i thought we would try in summer. he is interested i think but i dont have the energy for it and i just havent focused on it. plus i think there is enough chg around here atm. they seemt o be v good on the tt at kindy so i am hoping that will help...
renee - good to see you!!! we miss you! r sounds like such a character!
rainy - your night sounds awful!!! good call not to go i reckon...
btw what did you get with your compensation $$ from DH?
all is well here - getting lots of upper back pain, which i got last time too - and i think was the braxton hicks i thought i never got... i wonder how things are progressing? i hope they are...
renee- did you just go off the pill? if so i wouldn't worry too much about it, it's probably your body just sorting itself out a little bit iykwim? idk, sherie's usually the expert on these things! lol
yeah i'm not even bothering with TT at all yet. can't be bothered trying until next year i reckon
pap- i bought 2 pairs of jeans and new linen with my compo cash- 1000 thread count. woo hoo!!!
you'll be having nights like mine soon enough lol, burning the candle at both ends...yeah i just read that the weather is supposed to turn pretty nasty next week too so that's turned me right off going away.
have you packed yourself some nipple cream for those ouchie nipples PAP???? oh the joys of establishing breastfeeding lol
I have eaten so much cake today & feeling very very guilty lol! Had mums group over this morning, its so great to watch the kids interacting & I am so proud of M, she went through a bit of a rough play stage but lately she is really gentle & sharing.
Renee - If you have just come off the pill I would say thats what is causing it. Thankyou for the congrats, still have a while to go. Looking forward to my ultrasound. Are you ttc?
Rainy - Comet lol what am I missing here? Fair enough on not going away, as crappy as it is to miss out, I can SO understand. Taking two along is hard work & you would spend the night worrying about them waking. Seriously my time with the fam in Melb was a nightmare. I hope you arent too tired today.
Arte - Enjoy your time at your mums.
Supa & Cassius - GL on the ttc cant wait to see your announcments.
Yep we have started TTC this month. Going to give it a few months before I start charting/temping because I drove myself nuts when I did it last time.
Rory went through that rough play stage too..thank god it seems to be over. Rory had a thing with following the girls around and touching their faces. Its so nice to relax when they go to play dates dont you think haha.
Oh and dont feel guilty about the cake, I just ate half a Terry Chocolate Orange!!
Yeah I reckon Comet is a fabulous name, as in Halley's Comet. Very snappy. Plus we all know you are one gorgeous bright shining woman so it suits! PS there is *no such thing* as too much cake. That's practically my life mantra these days LOL.
Rainy, good call on the going away - there will be other times. Nice work with the vaccuuming L (haha any cat that lets itself get vacuumed deserves it IMO LOL).
Supa - sooo don't tell your mum, how would her knowing help the situation? BTW did you book Disney on Ice tickets after all?
Renee - sooooo exciting about you TTCing again! Wishing you much bountiful fertilityness!!
Clare, would love to pop over and write half your thesis for yourself. Unfortunately I've got the better part of a semester's worth of essays waiting for me here. Chin up with the supervision - academic supervisors seems to universally lack the ability to give *useful* feedback. Be assured that the absence of critical comment is a good thing, kwim?
Arte - glad to hear W is ok. I can't wait for you to get your new curtains!! BTW I was PMSL reading about your dog with the fundraising biscuits - Beags had stealth and cunning when it came to food, too. Reminded me just of her...missed her calling as a quarantine dog, I reckon.
Pregpan, sounds like things are progressing along just as they should at this stage. Soooo excited for you, even tho you're prolly too tired/achey to be too excited yourself.
Ange my dear how are things with you?
Trill - how's the mice wars going at yours? Every time I open my cupboard now I think about your lovely new Tupperware LOL.
AFM - totally exhausted today but utterly unable to sleep. Gonna do the preggy lady trip of a warm bath and milk drink before bed in the hope that it helps. Postponing family lunch tomorrow, which is disappointing, but best anyway cos DD1 has popped a huge double header coldsore which automatically excludes my stepmum. I'm sure it will be a lovely day when it finally all comes together.
MD - Funny you should say that, as I opened my pantry this morning & wished that it was as organised as Trill's tupperwear filled pantry! Its a mess atm. I hope you get a full nights rest tonight you sound like you need it.
I'm in the TTC stage too, although hardly called trying when hubby is hardly home.
Definately not preventing so hopefully it'll happen soon enough. For all of us wanting to go again.
Anyhoo, hi to everyone else. This is just a quicken cos its frikken freezing and I can't be bothered getting up and putting socks and a jumper on. So will just head to bed instead
Thanks for all the birthday wishes girls, sorry I've been such a slack BB'er lately!
DD was sent home from kindy on Monday with a temperature - gave her panadol and she was like a changed girl immediately. Apparently the same thing happened with 4 other kids the Friday before. Anyway, DH stayed home with her the next morning and took her to the doctor then she went to Nan's for the afternoon. Doc gave us some ab's in case anything happened in the next few days. Picked her up on Thursday and her temp was up to 39 when I got her home!! So I did a late run into town to get the abs for her. Had a bit of a vent to DH about how I was having Friday off as a birthday treat, I had things planned that wouldn't work with her there!! Anyway, in the morning she was looking a lot better and I ended up just giving her a half day at kindy. So a bit of mummy guilt there, sending her along when she wasn't really well and putting my needs first! But I had a beautiful facial and manicure in town and I did a bit of shopping for her too. Then we had a fun afternoon together.
Bought her a wooden kitchen from Aldi and some fake food and utensils. She loved it, was just stirring away most of the afternoon after we put it together. Also got a Lil People dump truck which is a hit.
MIL finished work at 5:30 and came around to pick her up for a sleepover - didn't end up leaving until after 7!! I hadn't fed her dinner because I thought they could do it so she ended up just snacking on stuff here. It was nephew's birthday yesterday so they 'had' to see him on his birthday (he lives across the road from us). MIL total disregard to time is really bugging me lately but luckily it gets to DH too. ie when I was speaking to her on Thursday night saying that I had a beautician's appt I might have to cancel to look after K, she offered to take K in her lunch break if I moved the appt - yeah, like they're going to be able to do that the morning of the appt, move everyone else around! In a bit of a dreamworld sometimes.
Anyway, my sis and her boyfriend came down last night and we had a beautiful dinner out. Everyone else is still asleep, but at least I got a 7:15 sleep in!
And we went to the speechie this week. She really wasn't concerned about DD's talking (or lack of) as DH and I were both over 2 when we started. She recommended getting her to verbalize things rather than point. Also we should stop talking in full sentences all the time and just focus on those key words 'more, up, down' and nouns (cat, dog etc). It was interesting at the appt just being a bit remote though and observing how DD was copying her etc that I just don't notice at home. Too caught up in everything else I suppose.
Anyway, enough about me!!
Trill - I hope those mice go away soon, I would hate to be dealing with all that. We have a semi Tupperware catalogue pantry and gosh it is good. Need my sis to have another party so I can get some more.
MD - hope the birthday's in your house went well. How are you feeling a few days after the treatment?
Arte - I would be sending DH up in the roof now!! Yucky, smelly, dead rodent!! W is so clever with his little comments, I just loved the 'Just farts' comment!! DD does one and just grins and points at her bottom!! Have fun at your mums.
Renee - good to see you again, good luck with the TTC
PAP - hope you get your list ticked off soon and can enjoy those last few days/weeks of your family of 3 before you get your next bundle of joy!
MM - you should have seen how much cake I had on my birthday, I was using the theory that calories don't count on your birthday!! Someone at work made me a scrummy choc peppermint one and DH and I still have more than half in the freezer for later.
Rainy - sounds like you made the best decision about not going away. There will be more opportunities. Can't believe you sleep with both of them, is DH there too or is he confined to the spare room?
Clare - good luck over the next few months putting all of that thesis together. I'm sure you will sail through!!
Hello to everyone else I've missed, they're starting to emerge from their rooms and I'm getting hungry!!
Reneenay- I was so excited to c u again! Hi. I am TTC too, so that's 3 of us, Cassius too.
MD- yes going 2 Disney On Ice this Thu nite. Would have loved u 2 come. We have a group of us going. Next time.. About mum I dnt plan to tell her until 12 wks or 11 wks when we go 2 sydney. I just wouldn't want to wreck the trip YKWIM? It wouldn't but would give it a diff slant. Maybe I could tell her half way thru lol and cop the u tell me NOW? Lol. Well if I am not pg that would b easier wouldn't it!
AFM: speaking of Tupperware I got my order yesterday and transformed my drinks cupboard, ie hot choc, chai lattes, hazelnut coffee, teabags, herbal teas etc. Looks flippin' awesome. I also tidied up a few things and watered my herb garden. I have been peeing SO much yest. It ridiculous. Do u think this is a pg sign? I can't remember. T is just bew-ti-ful at the moment. She says my teddy + it sounds so cute. She has a lovely voice.
Cally-glad u had a lovely bday. I had a facial last nite they r divine. Go the cake!
Arte- I would love to meet W he sounds adorable + hilarious.
Hi to everyone else. My fingers have gone numb so I will say hi to everyone else + hang them off the side of the bed- yes I am bumming around this morning.
supa- the first symptom i had of pg with jimmy was that i couldn't stop peeing....maybe you are???!!!!
that's so cute how you said T has a lovely voice.
cally-dh is right down the other end of the house in the spare room which he has actually turned into 'his bedroom'. so funny, he's like a teenage boy. i bought him his own blue striped bed linen and he has all his street machine and hot boat magazines in there. he actually loves having his own space and is never woken by the boys. i'm surprised i haven't found a bong in there yet!
md- hope you got some sleep lovely.
so many ladies in here ttc, i love it!!! so exciting for us all
Awww Kate, im in the same boat too! DH works a week on and a week off
Cally - Sounds like you had a great birthday. Hope DD is feeling better soon. A few great tips from the speach therapist too!
SupaB - Yes that is a pg sign, well it was for me...that and heartburn in the first week but never again during the pregnancy. Strange what little signs come up during that first few weeks. OH and veiny boobs!! Fingers crossed!
MIL asked me if I was pg at Easter arghhh! Im hoping it was just the dress that made me look pregnant!
Better run, ive got prizes to buy for my SIL's baby shower im organising, im going out tonight with the girls for dinner & ****tails, lunch with the family tomorrow and heading away for a few days on Monday for DH's grandpas funeral! Wish me luck!!
hey Renee! I have no idea what could be going on with you - have you been off the pill for long? It could be just breakthrough bleeding or some left over? I know I might appear to be finished, but then in a few days she has one lust hurrah before she goes again So sorry to hear about Dwaynes grandfather.
G, that's hillious! I can just imagine him bunkering down in there like the 'good old days' LOL. Bummer you have to sit out of the mg trip, it would have been lovely. I hope they do it again and by then you can go
SupaB, I am short a few - I need some big spice ones for cocoa and sprinkles. I got some rock n serve ones yesterday that I got from ebay as the ones I have are starting to wear out. DH uses those ones all the time for work.
Cally, Happy Birthday for the other day! - so sorry I missed it. Glad to hear that she is 1 feeling better and 2 that the speechie appt went well. One thing you could do to help her along is get some books called PB Bear and they have some words substituted with pictures and would be perfect to help her start to pick up more words.
hehe Kate, that's something I would do LOL. It's turned cold again here too.
MD, how did you sleep last night hun? I hope the preggy lady bath trick worked. Bugger about the coldsore
The mice a still around and I am ignoring the problem atm by not setting the traps for the last two nights, but I will have to do it tonight. Had another day out shopping yesterday - but Lindsay also had his opthamologist review (which was great - 20/20 vision in his right eye, and nearly 20/20 in his left! so we can stop the eye patching now), so I had him and the little two with me so we weren't out that long. I did get Paige her birthday present though. At myer I found a really pretty magnetic noticeboard that had butterfly magnets and little butterflies around the frame so I got her that, as well as some more magnets and some crayola stuff. The noticeboard was originally what I wanted to get for her, but couldn't find the same brand one to match the rest of their bedroom stuff, so moved onto the bookshelf idea, but when I saw this one I thought bugger it, that's just as good. Also got the boys haircut at the Barber shop and Alister looks a bit like a meathead LOL, but he wouldn't sit still this time as there was too much to distract him, so it's shorter than usual.
