Oh I am sorry. DH lost his Nonna a few years ago to alzheimer related stuff. it is hard, cause like you said, they arent really themselves anymore, but the love, graditude and memories that you have of them will always be strong. I guess in a way the timing of your move down here is good, you can be closer and share these last few weeks with your family close by
