Arte ~ Well done! I wish we were brave enough to take Scarlet to the cinema, lol I can just see the havoc she would cause. We also have the dragon problem, Only it's Sharks.. "there's a shark in my room, Don't go in there Mummy", I can only place it down to The little mermaid so i guess we'll have to be more careful too.
Jaz ~ I've taken a break from painting again, The new house we're renting has only 2 bedrooms - we have a massive wrap around deck but with the weather lately i can't paint outside, There is great space for a studio downstairs but we're looking after the landlord's New Foundland's until they have their new fences built at their other house, They're huge dogs & have the run of the entire yard as well as the space downstairs. As soon as they're gone i'm going to clean it all up and set myself up down there
Cally ~ Glad you had a nice time in tassie, I love it there, but the cold.. not so much. DP and i lived there for a year when we were younger. How often do they take K to the toilet at child care? At ours they take the TT'ing kids hourly - S goes anyway and is doing v well but i have also noticed at the end of the day when i check to see if scarlet has had an accident there's only usually one bag of soiled clothes to be taken home out of 15 or so kids. Maybe it would be worth asking how often they check she needs to go when you try again.
MD ~ It's been good to re-discover BB, How great does a big clean up make you feel! During our move i got rid of all the boxes of junk i've been carting around for years & everything i haven't used and wouldn't miss, We went through scarlet's toys and gave a good half of them to charity (as they would have taken up the entire removal truck) Isn't it amazing how "stuff" just accumulates.
Oz ~ Scarlet has picked up "go away" too and i LOATHE it, She says it all the time & is getting worse as well as more recently "You leave me alone!".. & "Look, mummy hurt me!" She'll show any random stranger a mozzie bite and tell them i BIT her, lol. Ah, the joys of day care!
Noni - gratz on William doing well with food, Sounds like he has a nice healthy little appetite.
MP ~ I do not envy you going through teething again I hope J feels better soon.
S has been so naughty the last couple of days, been having those shrill screaming, throw-myself-on-the-floor type tantrums, and unusually demanding of my attention - I will sit and play with her for a good 2 hrs straight but as soon as i try to do anything eg; have a glass of water, she'll go mad at me "YOU PLAY WITH ME RIGHT NOOOW!".. she'll pull, pinch and scratch until i sit back down, It's beggining to drive me nuts & It's so hard to distract her or try to get her to play alone for 10 minutes. I got her to help me hang clothes on coat hangers this morning and we were having lots of fun until she got upset that there no more to be done so she went into the wardrobe and pulled every last thing down. ARGH! then while she was sitting down having a sandwich for lunch i decided to clean all the glass on our huge french doors, all done i went into the kitchen for 5 seconds to put the cleaning stuff away & come back to "ha ha i maked it messy!" She'd smeared butter from her lunch all over the glass as far as she could reach. She has finally settled for a nap so i'm praying she'll wake up and no longer be a devil child! Maybe it's the rain - We've been playing outside on the decks between showers but it is pretty boring being stuck inside, If she's no better soon we might head to one of those indoor playgrounds for a bit.
MD, the lounge dancing is quite conditional on W's mood - if he is in a good one he will disappear to the other end of the house and play, if he is rotten then he will stand in the doorway and squeal/bellow and progress to a tantrum to get me to stop lol. But A loves it and I am enjoying listening to some music for a change.
Cally, the sink in a great entertainer. Lately I have been getting W to help me with tea. He is actually pretty good at peeling carrots and I let him cut the mushrooms. It is slow going but he is very careful with the sharp knives and I am slowly accepting that it is more important for him to feel included than to have uniformly sized mushroom slices.
LP, GRRRRR. That would p1ss me off big-time! Do you do many kid activities with her? I found the school holidays when all my out of the house activities were stopped provided me with a very bored and bratty child.
Wish me luck, we are off to see the IL's tomorrow. It is a two hour drive to the airport, three hours of airplanes (two flights) and then another hour to their house. Amelia will not sleep in the car - last time we went to visit my family a 2 hour car trip took 5 hours! Leaving bright and early to get there in time. All I can say is thank goodness for car DVD players. At least W will zone out and we only have A to deal with.
W is quite excited about the trip, but I think a bit nervous too - we have had a return to the tantrums. He seems quite an anxious kid. I wonder if it has anything to do with how stressed I was during his pregnancy? A is the complete opposite, she is the sweetest little thing. At that absolutely adorable age when everything makes her smile and laugh. I thought W was an easy baby, albeit clingy, but now that I have A to compare he was actually quite high maintenance (and still is). A has never had a grizzly day in her life.
hey everyone,
William is doing much better with solids now.. Hes not choking on finger foods now which is a big relief because thats how he prefers to eat.. hes doing well with breads and fruit and biscuits, the other night i made some sweet potato chips which he quite enjoyed too.. im still spoon feeding him sometimes but im not worried about how much he eats of it because i know he will happily have a biscuit or some fruit etc to fill him up..
arte - goodluck on the trip!
lp- asha is very high maintanance too.. she gets bored very quickly and gets naughty.. its really had trying to entertain her.. she has a few activities during the week, 2 days school and one morning swimming but the other days are always hell because shes bored!! im trying to fill it up with more activities or things to do but its hard coz money is really tight atm =(
hope everyones having a great weekend =)
Hey everyone! I'm here and posting a bit, but just not in here - norti of me I know!
J's funeral was last Wednesday and it was hard, but it is all over now and I just have to help Mum look forwards kwim?
Uni is totally swamping atm, but my head is still above water LOL. They are just some really involved assignments that I actually have to do a lot of preparation for instead of just some quick reading and banging it all together
Miss K decided to give up day sleeps over the weekend. But we had to go out each afternoon in the car and she was asleep within 10 minutes, so not sure she's really ready to. We had a wonderful play down on the rocks at the beach, found so many things to look at and she was just constantly on the go. Unfortuantely it didn't wear her out enough to make her sleep! On the upside, she slept in to 7:15 this morning so that was nice!
Trill - big hugs, hope your mum and brother are doing OK.
Arte - wow, very brave letting W have a knife. Our stuff is all so sharp (got me a few times) I'm a bit scared of letting K have any responsibility for it. She sits on the bench and helps get things out of containers, stir etc though. We don't worry about peeling carrots here..... Hope the trip wasn't too bad.
Lp - wow, that is demanding. I don't know whether K was being difficult over the weekend or if it was me, but I found it a very stressful weekend. She was just constantly doing little annoying things. Like kind of kicking me, but quite gentle so it was really more irritating anything else, pulling my hair. She did have some very cute moments though, like her and DH sitting in the back of the car on the way out of the shopping centre yesterday chanting 'Find milkshake shop mummy!' (all the ones at the centre were closed and she had been promised she could share DH's because she had been an angel while we were out)
LP: and ! those are some tanties lol! DD went through a massive tanty phase about 8 months ago. we had just moved house and i guess it was all too much new information. it was insane! really public displays that just wouldnt stop lol. i reckon they go through phases, so no doubt S will get through this latest patch and be back to awesomeness in no time....but i must admit that i had a wee giggle at the smearing on the glass...he he, she prolly thought that was hilarious he he he!
Arte: hope the trip went well...i think i might put my order in for a baby like A!! liking the sounds of non-grizzly baby very much lol. leila was awesome even from a young age at grizzling lol.
noni: tell me about it! we have a hard time on the weekends with DD because many friends have organised activities and we just didnt have the cash lately to enrol her in classes or the like. hopefully we can for the coming summer. i really want her to get into swim...but it costs a bomb and i just dont have it ATM. we'll have to share boredom busting tips with eachother!
Sherie: i hope that the funeral service was lovely for him
the second half of semesters are always a bit more barmy...but i reckon if you get the basics started early on the 'easier' subjects (ie the ones you like lol), then all they need is a quick fill in closer to submission giving you plenty of time to do more research/lectures on the harder subjects itms...
MD: ohhh so is that why leila has no sense of rythmn???!!! it's my poor lounge-room dancing ROFL!
Cally: all i can say is: mmmmmmmm milkshakes!
AFM: we had a great long weekend. just lovely sunny weather and not much soccer!! so we got to do a day trip to ballarat to visit the eureka stockade. the original plan was to get early enough off to see sovereign hill...but DH procrastinated long enough that we didnt get to go...he REALLY wanted to see the eureka stockade thing.... despite his sabotage though we did have a lovely time! although the theme was a bit too scary for leila and she just hid into my shoulder the whole time.
