Happy Birthday for yesterday Arte! I love the running commentary on the plane
Trill - So glad Evil Knievel's head has healed and am impressed with his locust catching.
Ginger - Hope the mastitis clears up quickly
Cass - Totally agree. Craig never took a bottle, so went straight to a cup. If I get Ryan to take a bottle it might be hard to get rid of later Leila sounds so funny, how nice of her to take her tantrums outside!
MD - DD1 back on track with the Colin Thiele books now?
Noni - Good idea to follow up with your usual Dr about a preventative puffer if they can have one at W's age. Glad the Ventolin worked, how's his cough now?
Finishing up our photos of the boys with the photographer today. It was overcast the day we went to the studio so they couldn't do any outside shots. Then next week we get to choose which shots we liked as my Mother's Day present from DH.
HAPPY BDAY ARTE!
Lol G re that tshirt - someone gave it to J - i was like 'umm i dont think either of mine are daredevils' - it'd suit L and A for sure!
You poor thing with the mast - have you had ultrasound on it at all?
Suzi - hope the pics turn out well...where in Canb are you ( we just moved away in Feb)
Sherie - whoa on the injury and the locust - man they are growing up sooooooo fast!
Cass - L is tooo cute. love the outside tantrumming. I must say i am quite lucky we dont get really awful tantrums
N is just adorable at the moment... well always LOL!@ his comprehension is amazing... he comes out with the most amazing things and is always asking me what words mean - yesterday he learny chaos and he told me this morning my room is chaos (note MY room not HIS - and its true LOL)
J has been sick all wekk, he has a bad ear infewction the poor little guy. N has been amazing with him and DH has had himhome a lot of the week. he is going to creche in a few mins and then I am heading there at 3.30 as they are having a mothers day afternoon tea.
Just found out my creche won the vic/tas centre of the yr - fantastic effort by them all!
J is also teething - he doesnt have any buty his gunms are bulguing like crazy! i am hoping they will come home soon = we all need some sleep and also it looks SO painful
Cass, is that pram better or worse than the one you wanted, or just not the same? BTW I love your go outside and let rip philosophy, although tbh when mIssy E is in full flight it's hard to make myself heard enough to give an instruction like that . Actually she's normally pretty good with me but DH sets her off all the time by not talking about what he's about to do.
Noni your weekend sounds lovely! Let us know what the dr says about W's ventolin etc when you've been over it all in more detail. I suspect they will be wary of giving anything that is steroid based at such an early age.
Arte I was cracking right up reading about W's inflight commentary...I wonder if the other passengers found it as amusing as we did .
Thank goodness EK's pretty little head will be ok - save the scars for when he's older and he wants some mystique LOL. Wow that is some scary sized locust! Does it wear a waistcoat and tophat and talk too?
Suz, I think we're one step closer to a family portrait too - unfortunately my DH is a photographer so it's bit like mechanics & their cars LOL.
Ok, well H barely got part 1 of her assignment finished for today...I didn't see it as I was out at the movies on Wed night (I love you too - fantastic movie, very funny), and then too conked last night to care. She does however have copies of all the *short* novels she needs (after forgetting them/leaving them at school etc a few times this week), so we're a significant step in the right direction.
Ginger - aw sweets I don't know what to say. Have you thought about seeing an LC? Have you tried PMing Barb - she might have some good suggestions or even be able to suggest someone you could go and see. Did I tell you when I was having all my problems in the end I had to take ABs and use thrush cream at the same time...throw out all your sposie breast pads and change your clothies umpteen times a day (soak in canesten rinse or napisan & hot water) and air your lovelies out. Failing that you could just express the top off for comfort and feed exclusively on the other side. Gee I've said a lot for someone who didn't know what to say??! what a surprise...
Well I had a big day yesterday, met the author Fiona Macintosh - she's one of Bryce Courtney's mates - very inspiring & interesting lady. I'm trying to write a job app (ummm so far haven't actually *written* anything) and suddenly I'm getting all these phone calls from millions of people I haven't heard from in ages...what's that all about? Been too busy to even try to procrastinate...
ETA - MP - that's fantastic about your CC centre - confirms what you knew about how good it is. Enjoy the arvo tea.
Hi everyone. Not too much to report here. Lots of early starts this week, hoping that doesn't continue!
Cass - I love the idea of telling missie to go outside! Might try that next time.
Noni - so glad the grandparents had a good time with the kiddies.
Ginger - poor thing, mastitis again! I like all of MD's ideas.
Mp - good news on the creche, you make good decisions - lucky you were able to get the boys in there.
Arte - you're glad that all you got was the running commentary from W on the plane. DH had a go at me last weekend because I hired a story that included something about a fluff monster under the bed and he was concerned that Miss K would get ideas, but I can totally see him doing what your DH did!
Anyone heard from Isadora lately??
No plans here for mothers day yet. The usual trip into town tomorrow for a bit of shopping, hopefully we have some lovely weather like last weekend, although a few mm of rain overnight wouldn't go astray....
Oh, and I forgot to say...puhLEEEEEASE sponsor me in the Mother's Day Classic (if you're not already one of my anonymous sweeties ) - the link is on FB - my sister has raised heaps more $$ than me in half the time...it's driving me nuts .
Ginger, when I go to my hometown to visit family I live in fear that someone from highschool will see me. I now weigh exactly double what I did at school and I really don't want people to see me like this. Bummer about the mastitis. It has been a huge problem for you this time around. Is J anywhere near weaning?
Suz, we have shifted the potty into the toilet and now W has the choice between using that or the big toilet. There is a step in there so he can reach the big toilet, and a seat insert so he can sit on it if he needs to. To get him to use the big toilet I have found saying "show dad how you can use the big toilet now" usually works. Every single time he washes his hands he puts the flipping handtowel over his step so the dragons don't get on it (because they put their food on it and make a mess???), it is getting a bit annoying!
MD, how did the mothers day classic go? Yay for some H progress with her school work. How is she going at school these days (besides the procrastination)?
That is all the personals I can do until I figure out how to see the previous posts lol
Back to reality here. DH is at work again tomorrow. Sleep has gone up ***** alley here. A is waking nearly hourly and W woke three times last night. I am hoping like mad that it is just a holiday hangover and they will settle back down again soon.
Just want to say I hope you had a wonderful Mothers day. I got some lovley things made and bought at school...
Was suppose to have a sleep in but DH cut his finger on a broken plate whilst empting the dishwasher this morning
and I had to do a repair job on his finger....lol oh well maybe next year. Had a wonderful breaky made for me
after everyone calmed down.... lol
Hiya ladies, I did want to pop in to wish you all a lovely mother's day, you're such an awesome bunch of mummies to have in my life and I look up to each and everyone of you.
On Sat I was very blessed to spend some time with a friend from my BC support forum who was preparing to leave this life. I walked with her name on my back yesterday, not knowing whether she had passed (and she had, overnight) so it was a very bitter sweet day for me yesterday. The actual walk took quite a long time because 8000 people had to funnel through a footbridge near the start, once we were on the other side it was gorgeous. (Though I had to have a little sit-down 3/4 of the way thru). So many people with beautiful messages on their backs. Thanks everyone who sponsored me , I raised $350 at last look, and you can still make donations until 31 May anyone who is interested.
MD: big big babe. so awed by your beauty and friendship to those in your life xx i am sure that she was really really touched when she looked down and saw you walking the walk for her and her memory
thinking of you lots and lots xx
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL YOU LOVELIES! Hope you all had a special day full of wonderful memories of your gorgeous little ones.
MD - big hugs to you, what am emotional day. I am glad you got to spend time with your dear friend on saturday. thinking of you.
Arte - LOL at W's plane commentary. love it! hope you went ok with DH going back to work.
Oz - thanks for asking. J is a lot better now. it has been a bloody hard few mnths here. his sleep is still the pits - not sure whst we should do.. i guess go back to implementing what the nurse told us!
Clare - just saw how far along you are. wow! how are you doing babe? can you imagine how it will be when you have another little DD too? exciting! hpw is the thesis work going?
Ginger - how is the mastitis? i feel so sorry for you, i know how awful it is and just cant imagine recurring bouts of it.
melb girls - i think it is time we arranged to get together.... (and anyone else who can come of course)
Oz - had to laugh that you need family pics done - thats like the stories of the tradies and their run down homes...
where did idadora go this time lucky duck?? i hope miss M made it this time. and i hope she is back on here soon - i miss her!
has anyone heard lately from Queenie? i was just thinking abt her...
I havent had J weighed since he was 7 monthsbut i popped him on the scales at home and he only seems to be around 8.5kg... (he was 8 at 7 months). DH is quite worried... he isnt all bony or anythingbut is a lot smaller. i looked at the blue book and this puts him around 5th percentile. shold i worry. he was up around 50th before...(i think)
Well I have a conference all week this week so prob wpnt be back on here til fri. have a wonderful week everyone!
Hey MP! Queenie is off galavanting around the world atm LOL - she's on an OS trip too. I wouldn't worry about J's size. He is probably just going to be a smaller boy than N was. They are notorious for slowing down in their weight gains at this age. Erin wasn't a lot bigger than that at the same age - I just had a look in her blue book - and she was a deliciously chubby looking baby, but at the same time only average kwim. One thing that made it harder was that Lindsay was such a chunky monkey by comparison - he was huge and you have to reconcile in your head that they are two different kids and they will grow at different rates. So even though J is smaller than N was, J is still perfectly fine . At 12 months old Lindsay was over 3kg heavier than the other three were at that age!
Thanks hon, you know how i get worried...
I knew you would tell me not to!
I am more concerned that his % position has dropped so much...
I guess I will go see the MACH nurse and see what she says. though i am feeding him all bloody night so i dont think i can get more cals into him til he speeds up on the solids. feeding himself is great but he doesnt get much volume!
hi girls
i wrote a long post this morning but it hasn't appeared? i must've got confused and pressed the wrong button LOL
md- you are awesome and my hero. what a beautiful thingto do- having your lovely friend's name on your back. i'm so sorry she passed,
xoxox
arte- my worst nightmare is running into an ex-bf and not having them recognise me cos i'm so FAT!!!!! LOL
um......i wrote so much but now i can't remember! my mastitis is all gone for now and i have started weaning. he has been eating heaps more and having a bottle of cows milk before bed and suprise suprise sleeping much better wooo hoooo! still bfeeding a couple of times o/night but i can cope with that.
i'm about to list my double mountain buggy on ebay as i'm just not using it. it's gathering cobwebs and getting wasted. once it is sold i am going to buy a single mountain buggy second hand off ebay and put a skateboard on it for L as he always wants to walk anyway.
i'm up for a melb meet-up, as long as it's at a playcentre or something like that where i don't have to actually try to control my feral children as they are completely wild and embarassing
If you're worried definitely take him to your MCHN or Dr and ask about it I had a look at the WHO charts and he is still tracking on a curve, but it has just flattened slightly.
Thanks Sherie - i will look at that chart...
i have posted similar advice to others (avergaes are just that, someone at top and someone at bottom, genetics have a part in it etc etc_) but it feels diff when it is ME!!!
G you are a crack up! a play centre woudl work for me...or colling wood childrens farm?? then a picnic in the gardens.
