to be honest i am so tired right now and things are starting to get easier with the boys getting that bit older that i can see where he is coming from... but i am not ready to shut the door and i just always felt we would have at least one more so i am still upset. i kinda felt like it was a definite we would have another (not byet though) and then since he cameout with it a few weeks back trying to imagine if it didnt happen. i guess i can see the benefits but i feel sad if there wouldnt be any more iykwim. that said at the moment i couldnt imagine going there again... i do worry if we leave it AGES which he may then agree, but then going back to nappies, no sleep etc.
doesnt help that mine are such shocking sleepers... (well J still is, i admit N is fantastic now)
i am thinking of getting a thermomix - any of you heard of it? big investment so gotta give it some thought. i went to a demo on tue night, might see it again next week...
i feel a lot the same as you. i said to my dh if we are going to have another then i would want to get pg now as i know i won't want to come back. his heart is not 100% in it, and tbh neither is mine so we've decided it's a no go. i'm still really sad about it though
a girl from mg invited me to a thermomix demo but i didn't go. she raves about hers but i knew that we wouldn't be able to afford it anyway so didn't bother.
trill- i forgot to say in all the hoo ha of the meet-up that i love the bunk bed, it's gorgeous.
i'm off to drinks with my new kinder committee at 7.30pm. so nervous!!!
[QUOTE=
bono doesn't really float my boat....i would rather eddie vedder (but the 1990s version of him), not today.[/QUOTE]
I was soooo madly in love with Eddie Vedder and Anthony Kiedis.
G have fun with the kinder committee
MP hugs on the bubba situation. I was actually going to come in and ask who was still thinking about more babies. I always wanted 4 and still do but I am also really happy atm with 2.......
Trill I also forgot to say how awesome the bunks are.
MP, that is hard about the baby situation. Even when you have had all the children you plan on I think it is hard to get your head around never having another. About N and the xmas thing, could you do a little New Year gift or something? Just a token thing so he doesn't feel left out until he understands why you don't have christmas? Hard. Where are you going to in NZ?
Oz, I am done with two kids. I sometimes think I would like another since A has been walking and everything suddenly got easier, but in reality I was barely hanging on sometimes during her first year. Plus on the financial side we would have to upgrade car and have me not working for longer. I am really looking forward to the things we can do as a family when the kids are a bit older.
Ginger, hope your committee meeting went well. I offered to go on my kindy committee but the ladies didn't want me Brought back a flood of high school memories lol
We are going away this weekend to the beach and the zoo. Should be good fun.
Man, the committee is one thing I am definitely not doing again next year. I did it for 4 years and OMG it did my head in at times. Plus there is a real nazi type on there atm and I just cannot tolerate people like that so I can see us coming to blows plus I will be too busy anyway.
I don't think you ever truly get over not having anymore, especially if you thought that maybe you weren't done yet. I *know* I am well and truly done, but I still feel a bit jealous when someone has a baby.
arte- i can't believe they didn't want you on the committee. i would've thought the more help the better! we are definitely considering our finances in the decision not to have another child. we would like them to go to a private high school so we need to start saving now!
oz- lewis' middle name is anthony lol aways reminds me of RHCP. isn't your L's middle name anthony too?
does your dh want another child or how does he feel?
trill- i get super jealous everytime i hear of someone being pg. dh was telling me that his brother and wife to be are going to start TTC after their wedding next year and i was so jealous of them! i just know how much she is going to love it and what a wonderful time it is in your life.
well committee meeting went really well. it was actually really nice to meet some new people and i met a couple of ladies that i got along really well with. one of them actually lives in the next street to me and has 2 little boys. we're meeting up agin next thurs as a group and i am looking forward to it.
Ginger - bummer on the spew, but well done on having spare clothes. We went out last weekend to an open day at a dam but got caught in the rain - DD had to strip off and came home in her undies with Pa's jumper on. Glad your committee sounds good.
MP - hugs about the baby situation. I am still very much up in the air about a second. I told mum last week that chances were slim on a 2nd, then I got a lecture about how my sisters are my best friends, how it's so much easier when they have their own playmate on holidays etc and I've really had baby cravings ever since. I'm also finding DD so much easier now, it's just that thought of going back to the sleep interruptions that I struggle with, we still can't get K to go all night, could I do 1?? Oh yeah, and DH is really adamant he doesn't want another one.
had to add re the good planning on the spare clothes - on wed jakey came home from creche in one of his spare tops... and a yellow mini skirt with ruffles... yes mpther of the year forgot to add spare pants to his bag and thats all the spares they had! classic!
he did look stunning though!
yes i have learned my lesson and now always make sure i have a spare change of clothes for both boys with me at all times. i also carry a whole packet of new underwear too
cally - you do make very pretty little girls so it must be tempting to make another one i know exactly what you mean about the sleep though. my life has got a whole lot better now that both boys are generally sleeping through.
i want a bazillion babies hahahaha! but it aint gonna happen. we are pretty settled on 2 and are very lucky to have 2 good sleepers, i think going for a third is asking for trouble i love my sleep too much to risk it he he he....
MP: though babe, that must of been a bit of a hit to the confidence xx. but one thing i have learnt is that any big decision in life shouldnt be made in the heat of stress or hardship. wait until the storm of work etc are over and then have a big pow wow about where to from here re the kidlets. and i reckon a big gap isnt bad at all! look at MD! shining the way for us! and i have to say that i found the sleepless stuff alot easier this time because Leila is sleeping through and so i only had to attend to Marta ITMS. she was also toilet trained which has helped immensely...
BTW total awesomeness on the yellow ruffle skirt lol!
G: that is very cool about the committee panning out so well! what a welcome change after the mother group sagas that you now have a met someone that can fill that void IYKWIM. the world works in mysterious ways huh!
Sherie: man, i still bawl my eyes out in happiness whenever i hear of someone's pregnancy or birth...hahahaha i guess i am still riding a post birth hormone high lol.
afm: well i wasted my time today trying to do christmas shopping. bah. i feel like a humbug as it all just overwhelmed me how consumerist it all is. i mean, we all know that there is that element but to watch people buy the same crap and stand in massive lines to buy that crap BAH! i literally bought a packet of candy canes and a pair of leggings for Marta in the whole 4 hours that i dedicated to that horrid shopping centre. BAH. and what is with all the plastic crap at toys r us?? seriously! i just wanted to buy some cubby house paraphanelia but really dont feel like spending $30+ on stuff that will break in a nanosecond...can you tell that i was over it lol?!
cass- just deck your cubby out with ikea stuff....
i'm trying to convince my dad to put in a cubby at his house for when we go there or stay there when dh is away. he's almost convinced i think! we went and checked some out on thurs and he was super impressed. the boys were going crazy too and didn't want to leave which helped the case a lot!
where did you get your cubby from?
well my dh is away again so i'm having a boring night on the computer.....waiting for the kids to go to bed so that i can watch the foxtel LOL
Stupid MIL. Kids getting ready to go to the wiggles. L has her fave dress and wild hair. MIL says "oh your hair looks a bit daggy, oh well" who the F says that to a 3 year old?! I made a big fuss of her and told her how cool her hair was. Mil is so freaking stupid she drives me crazy.
24 hours to go.
JM: oh dear. i hope that miss L didnt get the insinuation...sheesh that woman needs a chill pill already lol! how was the wiggles??
G: ahhh as usual i forgot about ikea! done and done! must get there after christmas...before is just plain crazy i reckon. we got our cubby from design a shed (we got the tiny itty bitty 'snoopy'...ie the only one that will fit in the yard lol).
JM, sheesh! Talk about no tact. Lu has gorgeous hair. Were the wiggles good?
Cass, that cubby is cute. OMG I covet the one with the double lean-to - that would be nearly big enough to move the girls out there permanently are you going to paint it, leave as is or have it stained? We just have ours on our verandah so it doesn't get weather damage.
jm- that is the kind of thing my mil would say too. like, have a dig at lu but really she's having a dig at you iykwim? she never lets up about jimmy's hair being too long and wanting to cut it. butt out b itch.
so tired and over it atm, i feel like i could sleep all arvo...
Sherie: we are going to go the whole hog and paint it. we are going to go white with a fire-engine red door. i need to make up some gingham curtains as well...man i wish we had a verandah big enough to house it it would also make it better for the heat. we are putting on a whirly-bird thingo, but i still reckon it will be hot in summer.
G: when does DH get back? i can only imagine how tiring it must be on your own with 2. i will need all your tips when DH goes OS for 12 days! argh i am going to go insane.
i wonder how Isadora is doing??! her baby is due soon? mebbe in january??
AFM: we are all good here. finally have the house clean after the building works. tree is up, decorations are up (leila made them this year!) and pretty fairy lights are up outside (we are the only ones on the street ). today we are attempting another BBQ and it looks as though we may just get away with it and have sunshine!! . so far the last 2 attempts have been downpour central lol.
we also met the neighbours that live in the street behind us. we share the ROW at the back and they pulled up their roller door and we had ours up and all the kids got together and played in the ROW and our yards! it was pretty cool! watching leila run amuck with a pack of kids also made me realise how she has grown and is entering the 'kid' phase. got me all emotional and gave me fuzzy wuzzies
girls, i'm tearing my hair out atm over leo the kitten. he will not stop pooing and weeing all over the house. he has peed on everyone's beds and even pooed on lewis' bed. he has peed all through the kids' toy boxes and through all the clothes in my cupboard. he has peed all through the laundry and all over our carpet. i have had to do 6 loads of washing today and wash 2 doonas from stuff he has pooed and weed over. the duplo smells like urine and my bedroom smells putrid. no matter how many times i put him on the litter it makes no difference. he jsut did a poo in the litter tray then came out and peed on the carpet. dh is completely over it and wants me to take him back. he's also not getting along well with kitkat and kitkat has been staying away a lot. i feel like we've driven her out of her home. i'm so upset about the whole thing and just don't know what to do. dh has completely had enough and wants me to take him back to the pound i'm so upset.
