Yep - definitly happy medium required. Mum was great when she came over from NZ for the brith, but mainly cause she cooked for us, and would watch Jenna while I was in the shower, and of course made me get oout of the house for a walk much quicker. Also was probably good cause I couldn't malinger about with my sore spots too much!! And it made me concentrate on getting breast feeding right, cause i was doing it in the other room by myself as I was a little shy.....

As for showing off the baby - I hate to say it, but they actually get much more interesting in a few weeks time! People dont really know what to do with a baby that can't focus on them, and who's needs are really just food, warmth and sleep! At 6 weeks, they have a little more personality, and family get much better smiles and cuddles. Save yourselves til then I say!!!
