The "hard thing" you are feeling could be a poo in your rectum. Next time you use your bowels check again and see if it still there.

This is sounding a little like a rectocele so make sure you check with your doctor. I second the comments on pelvic floor exercises!
Prolapses are much more common than we think for women who have had vaginal births and there are so rarely talked about.
could be an internal prolapse, if it persist, i'd go and get it checked. A GF had very similar, but hers was anterior, her bladder was prolapsing into her uterus. She needed to go the physio for some extra pelvic floor exercises but fixed itself over time. i agree with the others, make sure you're doing your pelvic floor exercises.
bwahahahahaha!!!!!! ROFL!!!!!! Ahhhh sorry that struck my funny bone
I'm pretty sure I didn't need to go at the time I felt it, but will make sure I take notice next time.. ROFL
Pelvic floor exercises - I'm trying, but there doesn't seem to be much strength down there any more!!! Hardly feels like I'm doing anything!
Mine took aaaaages to get back to normal again. It felt like the back wall of my vagina was pushing forward... difficult to explain. It did go back though. Like PPs have said, things are probably still a bit swollen. You'll be back in business "using the equipment" (PMSL, you joker) before you know it![]()
Sneaky sparkle i was the same...felt like everything was just going to fall out every time I moved! Lol. I don't think it will ever be quite the same down there again, but it is so much better almost 6 months down the track.
I pushed for about 3 hours....it took me ages to recover!
Arimeh have you had your 6 week post natal check up yet? I'd just tell them about it then if it is still like that...they'll be able to tell you what it may be, and maybe do an internal just to double check if you are really worried about it...I know I got a pap smear when I had my 6 week check up (I think it hurt almost as much as giving birth! Lol) so they might be able to check things for you then.
ss_storm - uh nope, haven't had it yet - she's 6 weeks tomorrow so I guess I got to bite the bullet and go get a pap smear - I'm way due for one.... like.. wayyyyy due for one. I HATE them.
Amy -
hehe
Sorry, this is alittle off topic but my vagina is the main thing I'm worried about after I give birth (bubs health comes first ofcourse)....am I to assume my vagina will never be the same again
Thanks for the education girls- might start organising that 'farewell party' for my vagina now hey!!!
Hope it is all better soon for you !!!
Yep hun, I'd go with getting on top of your pelvic floor excercises. I had a four hour pushing stage, and my pelvic floor was understandably worse for it......but after some sessions with a women's physio, and plenty of work from me at home, it was fine again.
TBH, the first thing I thought when I read your post was 'prolapse', so yeah, if it persists then see someone about it. You needn't suffer in silence! But I'm no medical professional, just guessing
.
Pelvic floor excercises certainly won't hurt, whatever it is........![]()
ETA Delphmoon, it may seem quite different for awhile. Mine was very traumatised from all that pushing and an eventual episiotomy that ended up with a slow-healing granuloma. But I'm pleased to say that it's better than ever now!![]()
Mel, totally agree with the pelvic floor exercises. If all is good at your 6 week check, I really recommend seeing a physio that specializes in womens health. They will be able to help you get your pelvic floor back in shape and you can even ask them to do ultrasound down there to help with any swelling and bruising. I had some done in hossie and it made a huge difference.
DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!! I had what felt like my bladder falling inside my vuh-jay-jay... two weeks of "closing the lift doors and going up a few floors" and it is all feeling back to normal!!!!!!
I saw a womens health physio when Archie was two weeks old and she checked to see if i was doing my PFE correctly (by ultrasound!!!) and it turns out i was pushing DOWN instead of pulling up!!!!! DUHHHH!!!!! And all that time I thought i was doing them right!!! The difference in the short time that i have actually been doing them right is AMAZING! Apparently it's best to do them lying on your side at first, especially if you are having trouble feeling them....
Goodluck and happy squeezing!!!!
