Yep hun, I'd go with getting on top of your pelvic floor excercises . I had a four hour pushing stage, and my pelvic floor was understandably worse for it......but after some sessions with a women's physio, and plenty of work from me at home, it was fine again.

TBH, the first thing I thought when I read your post was 'prolapse', so yeah, if it persists then see someone about it. You needn't suffer in silence! But I'm no medical professional , just guessing .

Pelvic floor excercises certainly won't hurt, whatever it is........

ETA Delphmoon, it may seem quite different for awhile. Mine was very traumatised from all that pushing and an eventual episiotomy that ended up with a slow-healing granuloma. But I'm pleased to say that it's better than ever now!

Mel, totally agree with the pelvic floor exercises. If all is good at your 6 week check, I really recommend seeing a physio that specializes in womens health. They will be able to help you get your pelvic floor back in shape and you can even ask them to do ultrasound down there to help with any swelling and bruising. I had some done in hossie and it made a huge difference.

DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!! I had what felt like my bladder falling inside my vuh-jay-jay... two weeks of "closing the lift doors and going up a few floors" and it is all feeling back to normal!!!!!!

I saw a womens health physio when Archie was two weeks old and she checked to see if i was doing my PFE correctly (by ultrasound!!!) and it turns out i was pushing DOWN instead of pulling up!!!!! DUHHHH!!!!! And all that time I thought i was doing them right!!! The difference in the short time that i have actually been doing them right is AMAZING! Apparently it's best to do them lying on your side at first, especially if you are having trouble feeling them....

    Goodluck and happy squeezing!!!!
