I have finally come to the realisation that i am a bit overweight, don't know by how much as we don't have scales anymore (they were always reading 30kg lol) anyway i was around 56kg before having children and with each pregancy i have gained around 20kg. when i last weighed myself not long after dd was born back in 2004 i was around 67kg, ideally i would like to be around 60kg but i really don't know where to start. i try and walk every day and try desperately not to eat to many naughty foods but my biggest concern is...........................
MY MUFFIN TOP
yup i have a lovely muffin top, now i can comfortably fit into a size 11 pair of jeans but put a top that might be a little see through, or close fitting and there you see it ARGHHH it looks gross and i am getting self consious about it.
anyway have any great ideas about how to get rid of the muffin top apart from the 1000 situps i would probably have to do each day.
Hey Mooshie.
I went to a naturopath not long ago for another issue and ended up losing nearly two kilos just from taking vitamins. Apparently some vitamins can help with sugar cravings. I was always looking for something sweet at nights. I eat wholegrain bread now instead of white and try and drink lots of water and no sweet drinks. Maybe that helps too. I just tried on my 'pre-baby' jeans and my muffin has definatley decreased! So, I would try a naturopath. She's given me stuff to help ttc too.
OK, Dont quote me but i am sure Silica Gel can help with weight loss, but you must drink LOTS of water when taking it. Also i heard on ACA about a study on Fish Oil, where it can help with weight loss, and it is also good for cholesterol. I would make sure it was the Flaxeed oil, Omega 3, as there are some oils that are unsafe during pregnancy if you are TTC. I have lost all of my preg related weight, BUT my belly is still there. Not sure if it will ever go. As long as i can suck it in with some undies, I dont really care LOL!! Good luck with the W Loss, I know how you are feeling, you are not alone with this one!
I find that when i get chunky around my mid section it's has a lot to do with fluid retention. Try to drink stacks of water - no coffee, tea, soft drinks and limit juices too. Also stay away from salty foods. Try to drink about 8-10 lge glasses a day. My DH also is prone to carrying weight in that area and ever since i cut most carbs out of our dinners eg pasta, only little amount of potatoes, no breads and sml amounts of rices and couscous he has trimmed down heaps within a matter of a weeks. We also try to eat dinner around 6.30pm no later. Good luck
