I lost heaps (although I've got lots of hair, thankfully) but mine finally stopped falling out about 4 weeks ago when DS was around 6 months old (and I'm still BFing my DS). It sux that it happens, but it does stop ... promise!

i had VERY healthy hair throughout pregnancy. shining and lush.

Four months AFTER i had my baby, then i started noticing what looked like large amounts coming out in the shower floor - i found that so depressing. i know it's silly, but it made me think about what people undergoing chemo go thru - the psychological impact of losing your "crowning glory".

i didn't know to expect it, so just thought something was wrong with me.

apparently it's a very normal physiological thing for a woman to go thru, after having a baby.

it went on for a few months.

went the regrowth came, it was noticeable to me, that i must have lost the majority of my hair from the fringe/forehead area and the nape of the neck.

we're at the two year mark now, still breastfeeding, so i really don't think the BF had anything to do with it, cos i'm not losing hair now.

i have two different lengths of hair! my actual length. and then two inches up, my hair is alot thicker, that's how long th eregrowth is.

No-one mentioned this hair loss in the pre-natal classes ! woudl have been nice to have been warned - don't think it would have been so upsetting then.

Yea I think mentioning this in the antenatal classes woukd be helpful because it was such a shock to the system!! My mothers group have been great....they are all going thru the same thing yayyyyyyyyyy......
I thought I was going thru this alone but now I know I'm not!!1

Well its been over a month since my last post and yes the hair is still falling out!! I went to my hairdresser for comfort and she reassured me it is normal!!
Aparently there is a hormone that in your 3rd trimester goes to your hair that makes it nice and lush!!! So that's why your hair feels so nice and healthy!!!
Then once the baby is born a few months later this hormone leaves your hair and focus's on other parts off your body...hence the hair loss!!! Interesting!!!!
Oh well I will need to vacuum and clean the shower more often for a bit longer then!!!!

    another one losing hair.
I forgot that i suffered with this badly with Hamish and now i am losing it again with Lachlan.
Im hoping it will slow down soon. I hate my hair being everywere, especially as it seems to wrap around Lachlans little fingers.
