I'm soo super glad I found this thread.

I had a huge cry and snap at DP last night over my hair loss It's really scaring me!

But my loss has only really started in the last 6 weeks or so... Is that normal?? Could it still be linked to post birth even that long after?? (DS is 8 months old).

Why does BFing make it worse?? I BF DD too, and I can't remember this happening..

[QUOTE=Lisa;2381711]Anyway, I bought some shampoo, conditioner & scalp treatment spray by Nioxin and it seriously stopped the hair loss. I haven't had any drastic hair loss since! It is a little expensive to buy, but because you use so little it definitely lasts a while. Well worth the money I think!

Lisa I'm totally willing to give this a go, I'm getting married in November and I don't want to have a comb over! Where did you get it from????

Thanks ladies...My freak out is slowing going away.. far out!! The things women have to go through

I have had it with both my girls, it stopped when DD1 was 5mths and i stopped BFing but DD2 is 7mths and i still get clumps falling out, i have very long thick hair aswell and i almost cry when i look at the plug or down at the pile in my hands.
    Hopefully it slows down soon.

Ahhh, yes mine is still falling ZF!!! I am sad to wash my hair, that is when it's the worst... and my daughter is laughing at a hair in her lunchbox everyday!!! I did take myself off to the hairdresser, she has been doing my hair for years, she said it is all coming out around the hairline, ALOT missing, but she said the new stuff i growing back quickly, and not to worry because it is SO thick still anyway!
The plug hole after the shower, it's like one of those I can't look, but I really want to look moments you know!!
Are you taking a post natal supplement???

I dont want to scare you guys but mine is STILL falling out, I am still BFing so that may be why...? its almost been 22 months, so I have lots of shorter regrowth that is all coming back curly, about 5-10 cm long now but my hair is Looooong and straightish usually, still getting shorter bits growing back around my temples (I did have bald patches there for a bit!) and hair line all over. I am currently ttc no 2 so hopefully when I get pg again it will stop! LOL.

I bought my Nioxin from Price Attack & from Hairhouse Warehouse. I found price attack to be the cheapest. You won't be sorry. My mum has been using it whilst having chemotherapy and has had very little hair loss... in fact, she is going to have her hair thinned out at the hairdressers this week as it is so thick.

My hair fell out by the handfulls from about 6 weeks after the birth of each of my kids until they were about 6 months old. I was losing so much the hairdresser asked me if I was having chemo. I don't need layers cut in my hair, I have layers from each of my babies - except right at the front where it all falls out and it looks really awful for about 3 months. I find it embarrassing. I have had people make lots of interesting comments to me about the way my hair looks and I am so self conscious. I tend to try and wear my hair so it isn't so obvious and as soon as it stops falling out and grows back a bit at the front, I treat myself to a really expensive hair cut/colour/treatment etc to make myself feel better.

I am not looking forward to it happening again after this pregnancy

    No worries hun.

If you wanted to, you could ask for a sample to try before you fork out the money for it. I was given samples to try which lasted a few days before I bought it. In those 2 days I noticed so much of a difference to my hair that I gladly went and bought the lot.

Oh and don't be put off by the size of the bottles as you truly use the tiniest amounts. I have long thick hair and a bottle lasts me ages and that is with daily use.

    Hey Lisa

Just wanted to let you know that I got the bottles tonight, and have just washed my hair. I showed DP how much hair was actually coming out, and even he was shocked... it freaks me out!
I'm praying that this stuff works for me, the lady who sold it said she's heard great things too.

I used about a 10cent piece size squirt, then went back for another 10cent size squirt as i thought it wouldn't be enough... But after I got out and brushed I realised I probably could have just left it at the 10cent size.. There wasn't a single knot very unusual for my hair!!

Will let you know if its a success, and thank you again for the tip xo
