Me too Limey!
Ryn I kinda think you're saying the same thing also in different terminology... ?

A lovely little story- thanks! It didn't do much for me though as I felt it smacked of "lets make up another idea about the universe that isn't based on any fact or evidence and go with it because it feels good". It also reminded me of the Christian "Do unto others" rule though which I think is a good moral to have.
I read this the other day and had to have a think about it. Very very interesting, I really love the way it's put, but for myself, I can't believe anything further than it being a particularly effective why to say 'Do unto others...' y'know? That's likely because of my own beliefs, I don't believe I am a god. I know there are religions that do believe that though, isn't that the core Satanist belief? How very interesting Mel, thank you very much for sharing

Keike - I'll admit that I don't know too much about Satanism - my ex was studying to be a satanic minister just after I left him, which I always found really quite amusing, considering he didn't believe in God - and to me - to believe in God you also believe in Satan, so wouldn't that also mean that he believed in God in some sort of way? LOL
As for me, I don't believe in "God" or "Satan" but I believe that there are Gods/Goddesses - more than one, and I believe that we have the power within ourselves to help ourselves - so maybe some interpret that as being godlike?
LOL, I understand what you're getting at - maybe Satan isn't 'Satan' to Satanists? ITMS?
I would be interested in learning more, don't think we have any here on BB though....and I'm reluctant to Google it, as I'm sure its gonna come up with the wrong thing
That's probably one explanation, but I'm sure I read somewhere that a couple of religions actually believe us to be Gods, we're simply not using our full capacity - maybe it was Freemasons? Maybe I'm getting it all wrong, because I think I read it in Angels and Demons (Dan Brown novel). Do we have any Freemasons in the house??
Actually, neopagans don't believe in an evil god -here's a bit taken from their website (and explains far better than I could ever attempt to!)
Neopagans do not believe in, respect, or worship any divine or semidivine figure of ultimate Evil, leaving such concepts to the dualistic monotheists. “The Devil” is a character in Christian and Islamic mythology, a blasphemous parody of ancient Paleopagan deities, and an entity we have not the least bit of interest in. Those who insist that our beloved deities are “really demons in disguise,” are simply exhibiting their ignorance, their dualism, and their bigotry, as their predecessors have been doing for centuries. Thus our community says to both the conservative Christian community and its shadow side, the modern Satanist movement, One cannot be a Satanist and a Neopagan at the same time, though it is, perhaps, possible to be a Satanist and a Mesopagan simultaneously.
Not that I know if there are any other neo's on here other than me..... LOL
No, I didn't mean Satan or any 'evil spirit', I just meant a natural balancing....I'm not explaining myself very well, LOL. Like, in nature animals exist equally, because for every animal there is a natural predator. You have many gods/goddesses, I guess I'm asking - is there anything opposite to them? Not necessarily evil, just opposite?
Not quite sure how we got to this topic, maybe I'd be better off asking these questions in your forum![]()
I'm not a satanist but I have friends that are. Biggest difference I've noticed between them and pagan-types is that a lot of pagan types are more for the good of others, satanists are for the good of me, they do things that benefit themselves above all else.
As for the OP, I believe that there are soul groups, ones that have come from a core soul group that has splintered over time, which is why we feel a connection to some people more than others, they're a part of our original soul.
I believe in godforms, but I also believe that we ourselves are also godforms.
It is interesting looking at the Qabalisic tree of life in conjunction with the major arcana of the tarot, they're all talking about a journey, from innocence to maturity and then back to innocence again - the whole cycle of life.
