Oh no studymum! I woulda freaked out tooo!

Love hearing all the stories of the new foods all the bubs are having! It is so much fun watching DD eat, we gave her spaghetti bolagnaise the other day with fettichine.. she loved pulling the pasta through her fingers and poking it up her nose!! It was so cute!

Got to vent. I was nice enough to go away with the inlaws for a night (bad idea) DD was not happy as she had not done a poo for 5 days now (i know they cant get constipated being breastfed but it was bothering her and her tummy was hard as a rock?) ANYway.. mil knows we have been giving her food now, so she thinks. FOOD - all THE TIME.. she thinks because we are giving her food, she does not need milk ARG!
So mil asks 'can I give her pumpkin?' I say yes, she says she is going to mash it, I say, 'please dont mash it as she cannot hold it to eat it'
so mil mashes it..
she said ' oh Ill give her the spoon and she can use the spoon to eat it' ?!!!?! she's 6 1/2 mths old ffs!!
So mil puts some pumpking on the seed and trys jamming it into her mouth.. ARG! Im pretty sure I said no to this!! So I pushed mil out the way, thank goodness dh walked in and yelled at her!! DD hated it by the way.. she pursed her lips together and squeeled!
Dh said 'just give her a peice of tomato' to mil, she wouldn't, so dh did. mil got defensive and started saying 'fine, i'll cook it again, it's not the way you should do it though..' (FFS after all we've been through with her trying to give her butterscotch sauce at 5 months, she's doesn't have the best ideas on feeding children!')
I kept my cool and said to her 'It's just a different way of doing it, and it works for us' she tried judging me again saying 'WHO told you to do it this way?' 'It's not right' 'It's not the way you do it!'
ulgh.
mil is so stupid.
But I think she saw how it actually does work. DD didn't want the pumpkin once she had cooked it again, because she was satisfied with her tomato..she luuuurves tomato! mil tried jabbing the pumpkin in her mouth but I pushed her hand out the way again. We just need to teach her now that food only happens once a day.. maybe twice. And I made a point of 'Feeding her FOOD' with my boobs as well. She does not understand that DD is just playing with the food, not always eating it. Mil wont beleive anything until she sees it for her self, so I think she got it that no mashed foods are what we do. lesson learnt for her, big step!!
