Thanks Mel like i said im in no hurry to rush it! she is growing up too fast as it is!
What does everyone else think? does my little B sound ready for solids?
im more than happy to wait longer if thats what is recommended from others experience!
She has her 4mth check up on thurs so i could always ask then and see what they say!
I would wait But that's me and 3 months seems too young. I didn't want to start Ashton until 6 months as that is what is reccomended for BLS but he had other ideas so 5 months 1 week it was
HJ I would wait a bit longer too. We started at 5 1/2 months tho we were planning to wait until 6. She seems a little young but like mel that's just me! It is totally up to you she's your bub!
We are going really well with it here. Tonight we had rockmelon, baby corn again (a fav) pasta and broccoli (pulled the poison face) and banana. Oh and yoghurt, I just loaded the spoon. Tonight was very messy :-)
Do you think its ok with slippery foods to use the net feeder things?
We were eating tea tonight and i gave Mia a tiny bit of mashed spud on the end of my finger.. baahahahahaha now i KNOW the poison face! So i gave her abit of brocolli and she was all good with that.
FYI - Mia's isnt on solids, i just gave her some to keep her ammused while we were eating. AS she gets quite frustrated when we are eating.
Ha, ha, we haven't had the poison face yet, but Ashlyn wasn't to impressed with the potato. She does really like banana and pasta though.
I'm glad I'd read on here the difference between gagging and choking. Ashlyn had a big gag yesterday, but I could hear that she was still getting air down so I just waited until she'd coughed up a bit of food, then told her to chew better, she actually laughed at me, lol!
Thanks everyone for your advice - we are going to wait - cause yeah i agree she is only 4mths (well on sat she is) she isnt suffering any by just being on formula and she is a happy bub so no need to start yet!
HJ - I'm sure she is doing fine on formula I think I started Miss M the day before she was 6 months (I was not going to start before 6 months whatsoever) but wanted her daddy to see the first expressions and stuff with food, and he would have been at work the next day. So we all sat down as a family (including DS) and gave her food and watched her eat (or try to eat.. haha!)
Somedays with Mia.. i think wow, she gulping this formula down and she will drink nearly the whole lot and i start to think if shes ready but the next day she wants nothing to do with the formula. So even tho it seems it may not be satisfying them, it is.
As i have said earlier, i think Mia will be ready about 5-5.5 months but it does depend on her. I think secretly i have in my head once she starts solids the spewing will stop... i have to get this out of my head beacause it prob wont be the case.
