My DH is in the RAAF and when he underwent his initial training he did it with navy and army people as well, he came across a guy in the navy whose last name was 'swallows' so he was Seaman Swallows and a guy in the army whose last name was 'Parts' so he was Private Parts!

My great uncle is William Williams and one of my school teachers was Alex Alexander

There was a David David and a Richard Richardson at my school.

And yes, David David. No, no remarriage or anything. That was just his name.

I worked with a P.rescilla P.rescilla once. Her dad liked their surname so much he gave it to her as a first name so she wouldn't lose it if she got married. (The dots I just added so it can't be found via search, given it's an unusual name.)

Jen I reckon that's actually kind of sweet I like my married name and didn't have a second thought about changing it, but I really liked my old name too and it'd be cool to still have that link.

Having such an unusual name is just unfair to the child

See I have heard that but in the story I heard mum had two girls 'Jenna' and 'Talia' - so the problem was when calling to both of them together. I heard that story/urban myth probably 5 years ago - so if above true maybe people are getting name inspiration from these urban myths.

    Re: Bad Bad name

That's the worst name I've heard. I hope it is an urban myth. Surely Births, Deaths and Marriages wouldn't allow Genitalia.

I disagree. I love my unusual name, only hate the rudeness of others.

A horrid name though, such as Genetalia or Busstop or Benson and Hedges... That's cruel.
