I like Jackson, Jack for short (maybe), but to be honest I don't think Jack John goes at all. I like thats they're both family names, but isn't one family name at a time enough??? Maybe you could save Jack for the next baby boy
I LOVE Xavier! It is a strong name and goes beautifully with John.
GL, I know first hand how hard it can be to agree with DH on baby names!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Jack John sounds plain ol weird! Benjamin (which yep Lisa we would go Benjamin, just use Ben as a nn) John & Xavier John just sound so much nicer. I love them both equally, but yeah I think DP has gone off Benjamin sadly.
I spoke to DP about Xavier again, and asked him exactly why he isnt sure on it anymore when before we had even found out what bubs was he had suggested it and raved for weeks and weeks about how much he loves it. And that he still says how much he loves it so I dont understand why he wasnt sure. He's worried that people will say to us "Oh you named him the same as your friends little boy." Yet when I asked exactly WHO would say that, he couldn't think of anyone.
Nobody else on his side of the family interacts with his mate or anything, they only hear about him in passing. And nobody on my side of the family know him at all LOL.
And honestly who cares if someone did say that. If we choose it, it certainly wasnt because of this friends little boy. It was pure coiencendce that he had the name we had loved the moment we got our BFP.
It may just be a case of waiting until bubs is born and "seeing" what he looks like.
Again thank you all so much for your input, you have all been so helpful
i would have concerns with using Xavier just incase there was the odd chance of a fall out in friendship and then it could be a terrible reminder ... For example I named our DD's middle name after my younger sister whom I was incredibly close to and to our utter shock she had a falling out with me 4yrs ago and everytime I see my DD's middle name I'm reminded of the emotional pain.
