thread: Spelling???

    You go with the spelling that you like best - and stuff everyone else. I've never bothered with them. And I've learnt that even if you spell a name how its pronounced - people will still ask for clarification of pronunciation so you can't win either way.
    That is soooo true!!
    My son is zakariya, I Spelt it that way cause I didn't like the traditional spelling, anywhoo my ds was in hospital and the nurses kept calling him zakira (trying to spell the name they said) and "oh isn't she gorgeous!???? Wth?
    No idea how that came about even though the spelling is exactly the way it sounds..

    i want so say hudsin when i see it with a y. but thats not necessarily a bad thing, dd has the middle name Ayva, we used the y cause other wise DH wouldnt use the name as he said it looked like ' ave a ' like 'ave a good weekend' but with the y it changed the way you say it. iykwim.
